Hello again, I'm back with Chapter two of Girl Next Door, it's a shame that this fandom Is so small, but nevertheless I'll continue writing for all the future people that may find enjoyment in this game as much as I did. While on the topic of the future, I plan to update as much as I can considering I'm a collage student and have shit exams to pass, I'll try to update at least once every few days if possible, my hope for this story is to have maybe 10k words or more, so this won't be a big ass story by any means but definitely something worth reading.
Chapter II
The Next Morning in Alex's apartment.
It was around 7 in the morning when Alex's clock woke him up for school, this morning was really fucked for him, he woke up still high and the events of last night started appearing in his head as if they were flashbacks or something. To Alex all of this was surreal, the whole process of him moving to a new city, surrounding etc. The thing he's mind was still going back to were the things he and his new neighbor talked about, he was really happy when he learned that the two of them may in fact be in same class, even if that doesn't happen Alex still feels like he made a friend. Clearing his thoughts he started levitating towards the bathroom to wash his face and take a quick shower before he leaves for school.
After taking a shower he started pacing around his bedroom trying to decide what he should wear on his first day, in the end first impressions are really damn important, it's pretty much the way that the vast majority of people will remember you by, after looking through his clothing, he decided to wear something semiprofessional looking, he chose to wear black dress pants and a elegant purple dress shirt and for his jacket he decided to wear a leather jacket rather then a blazer, he chose a golden watch he bought himself while he was still a human, gold and emerald earring that matches his eye color and a golden Cuban chain, as for the shoes, he chose his favorite pair of sneakers, white Air Force looked at his backpack and decided not to bring it with him considering he still didn't receive books he needed for this term, as for other things he took his wallet because how can you leave outside without some cash, his phone, pack of cigarettes with a golden zippo lighter and keys to his apartment.
Before leaving his place, he decided to go to the balcony to get a first morning view of his street. Entering the balcony, he noticed his ashtray was full of ash from his cigarette and the joint he smoked last night, as he observed the ashtray sweet memories of the last night played in his mind. After witnessing the morning view, it was time for him to leave for school, it was 7:30.
Leaving his apartment, he noticed that his neighbor who is also his new friend was already waiting for him. He could finally see her fully for the first time in daylight. Polly was wearing a simple pink t-shirt with black denim shorts and simple black boots, he found it to be an odd combo, but he didn't think too much about it, she was also wearing a simple necklace with a pendant that resembles a guitar pick, he also noticed she had sunglasses. The moment her eyes laid on him she smiled and started talking.
"Oh, wow you actually managed to wake up on time for school despite the last night getting super stoned, congrats." Polly said laughing while remembering the events of the last night.
"Trust me, I'm still fucked up, I have no idea how I'll survive today."
Alex laughed nervously at her. He was never the one to care what other's though of him, but he wanted to make a good impression today since it was the first day of the new school for him. Polly started laughing at his answer and just smiled and reassured him everything will be fine.
"Nah you don't have to worry about a thing, we'll go together, and I'll introduce you to my friends."
After leaving their building they made their way to the school which was lucky a 10 to 15 minute walk. They talked about random things while walking, they mostly talked about wacky party experiences they had over the years, and boy did they have things to talk about, Alex and Polly were match made in hell when talking about partying, their personalities combined perfectly with this topic. Arriving at the school, Alex took a good look at his surroundings, the school or rather the academy was unsurprisingly quite huge, it contained a lot of locations such as the Auditorium, Library, Outdoors, Gym, Bathrooms, classrooms and a Cafeteria, and apparently a school shop that was actually owned by a student that can pretty much sell anything for the right money from a simple book to improve your smarts to a bag of cocaine, and coke being actually one of the tamest things in the shops selection.
Entering the school, Polly and Alex noticed a giant ass spider wearing a three-piece suit standing in front of them, Polly immediately recognized this person as the school principle of this academy. Not wanting to deal with him, Polly gave Alex a pad on the back and quietly left him while whispering something.
"Call me later so we could meet up on lunch in the cafeteria."
She whispered as she started levitating and going through walls to get to her classroom. Alex just chuckled then his eyes widened, and he thought to himself.
"Hold the fuck up, she didn't even give me her phone number, how the fuck am I supposed to find her in this big ass place filled with these weird ass creatures." Alex cursed to himself then he noticed the principle clearing his throat.
"Ah greetings, you must Alex Blackrose, am I correct?" The spider asked him.
"Yes sir, and who may you be?"
Alex replied sounding polite, he couldn't get on the spiders bad side from the very start. As the ghost responded he instantly mentally face palmed at what he said, of course this spider dude was the principle, why the hell would he wait for him otherwise. The Principle nodded at the ghost and spoke up in a strong voice.
"I am the principle of this academy, my name is Mr. Webber, I wished to talk to you a bit and give you your schedule for this school term, if you could please follow me to my office Mr. Blackrose.
The principle said as he was gesturing Alex to follow him, as they made their way to his office Alex noticed a large group of students were staring at him, which is to be expected, in the end he was the new guy and shit. Alex decided to walk as confident as he could while having a blank and yet intimidating look on his face, he couldn't allow himself to be a potential target for someone, not that he cared, for all Alex knew he could easily ruin their lives if he was motivated enough. The ghost also noticed a lot of girls were looking at him, few of them smiling in his direction, few of them whispering amongst each other, he only smirked in his mind at the thought. He was quite astonished at the whole selection of creatures here, there were mermaids, zombies, vampires, werewolves , demons, you name it, he also noticed a few of them gave him a glare, he just returned his glare towards them, killing them with his ice cold emerald eyes that shined in the darkness, most of them turned around not being able to face him any longer, Alex just continued walking with the spider until they entered the office.
Stepping into the office, Alex took in the sight, the office was very elegant and full of trophies and shit like that, the ghost could only conclude that the principle was an ego-maniac asshole that wanted to be known for his great school and all the accomplishments that went with it. On his desk there was a laptop, shit load of paperwork and an ashtray with a large Cuban cigar sitting in the center, Alex only laughed and thought to himself.
"At least he's somewhat classy, I hope he isn't a big pain in the ass."
The ghost though as he sat down in the chair on the opposite side of the desk. Mr. Webber sat down a lit his Cuban cigar and started reading a file on his desk, Alex only assumed that file was on him, he was actually rather curious to hear what the principle has to say on him or rather how much info is in that student file of his. As the smoke from the cigar started to push into the ghost's face, Alex decided to ask the principle if he could have a smoke too, it was a fucking monster school where creatures eat humans and do weird shit, smoking was the least of the concerns, or so he would imagine.
"Sir is smoking allowed to students?" Alex carefully asked the principle while studying his face, the spider had an amusing look on his face.
"Only outside of the school, but I'll give you a free pass this time since it's the only two of us here and you're new."
As Alex heard this, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a golden zippo lighter from his leather jacket and lit up the cig.
"So, I've been reading your school reports, you seem like a good student judging from your grades and notes, but I'd like to hear It from you, so what can you tell me about yourself boy?"
Mr. Webber asked him, and Alex carefully thought about what to say. He didn't want to share anything personal with the principle cause first, why would the principle give a shit about his past life or anything along those lines. Alex decided to talk about his interest and his abilities.
"Well Mr. Webber, I have no trouble studying and I'm willing to learn anything that would benefit me in the future, I'm a good team player and I prefer to work with others in group projects, as long as the rest of my group members are somewhat responsible, because there is no way in hell I'll do someone else's work. As for the hobbies, I enjoy art, things such as reading, writing and so on. I'm not much of a sports person but I do try to stay in best shape possible. Is there anything else you wished to talk about?"
Alex kept a straight face throughout the whole speech, he hoped that he said enough so he could be on his way. The principle cautiously watched the ghost as he was talking, and from the looks of things, trying to determine if Alex was a potential troublemaker or anything of that sort. The spider liked the ghosts no nonsense attitude as it made him appear more mature and responsible, either that or Alex was a pretty good damn actor, the principle couldn't decide right away, but he only hoped that the ghost won't be a pain in the ass for him unlike a vast majority of the students here.
"I like your response boy, you seem like an understanding person, is there anything you can tell me about your past life?"
Alex cursed his luck, he took a long drag of his cigarette while trying to find a correct way to respond to the man or rather the monster. He unquestionably didn't want to dive into the details of his past life, Alex chose to politely and firmly let the spider know that he was not in fact interested in sharing his life story with him, after exhaling the smoke from his lungs he decided to speak up.
"With all due respect Mr. Webber, I do NOT wish to discuss this topic with you, besides, I fail to see how you would benefit from it in the first place."
Alex said with a low and dangerous voice. The ghost himself was quite pleased with his own choice of words, he politely declined to talk about such private matters. The principle however was not amused hearing the ghosts response. Alex quickly noted the atmosphere in the smoke-filled office became much tenser. Alex was a bit nervous from the inside when he noticed the spiders face took on more serious expression.
"Don't try to intimidate me boy, I won't be frightened by a mere newcomer such as yourself." Mr. Webber said in a menacing voice, however he quickly continued.
"However, you are correct, I gain nothing from it, I was merely studying you. I have to say I approve of your strong character, however don't think you can get away with crap like that with me, nevertheless here's your schedule, in it you will find mandatory subjects for this term as well as the list of the elective subject, do your best and good luck. You are excused Mr. Blackrose."
Mr. Webber said with an approving voice as he pointed at his door.
"It was a pleasure speaking with you Mr. Webber."
Alex said as he made his way to the office door that lead in to the hallway. Exiting the office while still smoking his cigarette, he noticed a lot of students look in his direction, some of them found it really cool how he was able to exit the principles office while doing something that in fact was prohibited. Alex took pride in this, it made him appear more dominant in the eyes of the other students. He quickly went outside of the school, so he could look for Polly and avoid getting shit for smoking from the janitors or some teachers. Stepping out of the school he noticed Polly exiting though a wall and he watched as she slowly levitated towards him, he noticed she looked super excited for some damn reason.
"OHMYGOSHH, that was sooo coo!l"
Polly practically yelled at him, earning couple of glares from the people around them. Alex was confused at her remark, until the realization hit him like a brick, she was watching and listening to the whole thing, she was probably spying on them from within the walls of the office, Alex was surprised he didn't notice her presence at all , then again, he had OTHER things to worry about, for example a giant ass ego maniac spider principle that tried to scare him into being a good little student, too bad that shit doesn't work on Alex.
"I'm glad you liked my performance, so did I make a good first impression with Mr. Strict-ass over there?"
Alex said as he was smirking, he knew that this whole situation will bring him popularity points, he was also very amused to see his new friend so hyped, he really enjoys her positive attitude, Alex Is sure she won't shup up about him to her friends.
"You were amazing, I never heard someone being so bold to Mr. Webber before, most students remain quiet when they are talking with him, not you though, you are quite ballsy aren't you Alex."
Polly said in her usual cheerful voice while winking at the bold remark, Alex took notice of this and laughed to himself, he smiled and continued the conversation.
"So, what do we do now Polly?" He asked her while finishing his cigarette and throwing the butt on the ground.
"Now, it's time for you to meet few of my friends, come on let's go to the cafeteria."
Polly told him while leading him in the direction of the cafeteria, he was quite curious to what kind of friends she had, he is pretty convinced that the ghost girl was really popular, she had that vibe, he also noticed a lot of guys staring at her, which was to be expected considering her appearance, she was really attractive and wasn't wearing too much clothing, he quite enjoyed the view too but he was a bit more classier, rather than to stare at her with his jaw on the floor like other creatures, he throws occasional glimpses at her body, and Alex knows damn well she noticed him checking her out because in return, he saw her check him out as well, not that he minded at all or anything.
Arriving at the cafeteria Polly noticed her two friends sitting on the far-left side of the room, Alex took a good look at them, the first person was a tall zombie with green skin and dark green hair. He appeared to possess some gashes on his body, conceivably from decay or prior injuries since he is a zombie. He wears dark pants and a green parka with four front pockets over a black shirt.
The second person was a gorgon, with dark green snakes for hair. Her skin is a lighter shade of green, and she has red eyes. Her lips and nails are painted a light shade of purple. She is wearing a short black dress under a majestic sapphire blazer, black heels, and a gold necklace and bracelets. Alex found the appearances of Polly's friends to be quite bizarre, he could only assume what kind of personalities they had, nonetheless he wanted to be on good terms with them, the gorgon had an rich aura around her and seemed like a important person to know, as for the zombie, Alex couldn't make any guesses just yet, but whatever the case may be, he wanted to make a good impression, in the end they were Polly's friends, being friends with them will make things easier in the future if Alex decides to take things up with Polly, because why not. As they approached the table, Polly decided to introduce her new neighbor and friend to her classmates.
"Hey guys sorry for being late, anyway, I want to introduce you two to my new cool friend who is also my neighbor."
Polly said loudly causing the zombie and gorgon to look at them, Alex decided to take imitative and be the first one to introduce himself, he stopped in front of the zombie and held his arm out for a handshake, which the zombie happily accepted.
"Name's Alex, nice to meet you."
The ghost said with a confident voice that wasn't intimidating or anything in that nature but rather a kind voice that made the zombie ease up. As the zombie stood up to shake Alex's hand he quickly decided to introduce himself as well.
"My name is Brian, nice to meet you as well Alex."
Brian said this in lazy voice, but Alex noted that the tone of his voice was not actually a uninterested type of lazy voice but rather that chill calm laid-back type of voice, knowing Polly, Alex is not surprised to find her friends to be equally laid back as she is, and it makes sense honestly, Alex couldn't imagine his ghost friend being friends with someone who's way too serious or for that matter boring. After Alex finished introducing himself to Brian, he turned his head towards the gorgon and made his way to her and did the same, he held his hand out for her to shake.
"Alex, nice to meet you as well."
Alex said it in a generous voice rather than his charming one, he didn't want the girl to think that he was flirting with her from the get-go. She shook his hand and replied.
"Vera and likewise, I hope you don't turn out to be a dickhead like most of the guys in this god forsaken place."
Vera replied in a rather cold and threatening voice, Alex only laughed and smirked confidently showing that he's not intimidated by her presence, this girl gave off a rather strong aura of superiority, Alex could only guess that she was either spoiled rich or was in fact quite powerful in her own right which is quite respectful, he hoped it was the second one, he hated spoiled rich kids because most of them were pussies that couldn't do anything without their daddies money or status, however there were some exceptions he met , where the rich kids were actually taught to act politely and intelligently. Alex could only conclude that Vera was undoubtedly someone he should watch out for, if it's possible he would prefer to be on good standings with her, as they say keep your friends close and your enemies closer, nonetheless she seems like someone that's good to have around, Vera had a strong character that's for damn sure. After the introductions were over they all sat down and began eating with the exception of two ghosts which makes sense. Alex took this lunch break to learn about the people that sat with him, and he came to several conclusions.
Vera is cruel and will "constantly discover ways to achieves what she desires." She is socially influential and enjoys recognition and wealth. Vera believes that possessing money and being rich is a way to be free, as well as a way to evade having to response to others.
Brian characteristically has a very chill and laid-back behavior and is also labelled as lazy and sleepy. He has a "go with the flow" kind of attitude that aids him in avoiding hostility and obstacles.
After talking with them for a bit, Alex concluded that both Vera and Brian were somewhat cool with the idea of him spending time with them especially after Polly told them about his confrontation with the principle which they found to be hilarious , Alex knew they liked him, they didn't say it to his face but he could read their body language and the fact that both of them were fairly interested to learn about the new ghost at school.
Alex also recalled that Mr. Strict-ass gave him a class schedule, so he went over it and he learned that ha had most of the classes with his new friends. Most of the classes seemed boring but few of them were slightly interesting, the mandatory classes he had were algebra, ambush finance, calligraphy and murder, chemistry, cyberterrorism 101, physical education and technology. There were a couple of elect subjects that he could take, which included necromancy, photography, portal, speech and theater. After the lunchbreak the 4 new friends went to class, and Alex's first impression was it was hella boring, considering it was algebra. After class they hung out in the bathrooms and skipped few classes, Alex was first not for this idea considering it was his first day, but what the hell, he could master all those classes himself if he wanted to, as they hung out Brian clued him in on other noteworthy people at the academy, there were a couple of more creatures that he will meet as time goes on, from what he recalls their names follow Liam, Damien, Miranda, Oz, Zoe, Scott, Valerie and there were few more but he couldn't remember all their names.
After the successful first day at school, Alex and Polly made their way back home, they decided to spend some time alone both of them then later meet up on their balconies for a smoke session, they wanted to make it into a regular thing for them, like a tradition or something.
11.30 PM
It was night-time and the ghost duo decided to have a quick smoke and chat before going to bed, they also made plans for tomorrow and beyond.
"So Alex, how did you like our school?" Polly asked him while smiling at him.
"It was…eventful to say the least."
Alex laughed as he was smoking a blunt once again ignoring his landlords warning. Polly really loved spending time with her new ghost friend even if they just met the night before, she felt happy around him, and they both had some mutual respect towards each-other both being ghosts and stuff that comes along with it. Truth to be told they were both quite interested to learn each other's backstories, but both going through a lot in their past lives, they knew how this was a sensitive topic so they decided to get to know each other more first then go in-deep about their past demons, the one thing the both ghosts shared in common was the fact that all those unhealthy habits like drugs, alcohol and hard partying were some kind of escapism for them, they want to forget about their troubled past and just try to focus on fun things they missed while being alive, and being dead they had the perfect chance to do so, their ghostly state gave them immortality which means they cannot be physically harmed, and they also do not experience the negative effects of whatever drugs they do, it was perfect.
"By the way thanks for everything you did for me so far Polly, I can't describe how glad I am that I met you."
Alex told her while casting his charming smile at her and passing the blunt to her, while in return she only smiled brightly and slightly blushed at his honest words. Alex noted this and laughed to himself, he loved to do this, he was well aware of his effect on others, especially girls.
"Don't mention it, it was really fun and you're an awesome guy." Polly sweetly replied to him while taking the blunt from his hand.
They equally knew there was something happening between them and both of them couldn't care less, they enjoyed these moments and the fun thing was, it was only the begging. After finishing the blunt, two stoners decided to call it a night and went in their rooms. Both of them slept peacefully and couldn't wait for the next day to just hang around and do dumb shit in school, despite both of them going through a lot in their lives and afterlives they kept pushing forward because they knew that there was shit ton of things for them to do together and to look forward to.
