Phantasm - Clad in Steel Armor, High Priest of The 300 - English Subbed
"BREAKING NEWS: It would appear that there seems to be a battle that is currently happening at an intersection that is a few meters away towards the Furiai Plaza..."
There was a hidden facility in Academy City that is kept away from the eyes of the public.
Located somewhere around District 7, hidden in plain sight, there appeared to be advance-looking holographic monitors hovering a few meters in the air that were showing each and every part of Academy City that was either within their given territories or other important and strategic places of interest. Not just that, but it would appear that these monitors would also show various parts of the world.
In light of what is taking place, multiple news channels have disseminated some vital information regarding a battle that was now taking place within District 7.
The battle between Touma Kamijou and someone wearing advanced exoskeleton armor.
The one who was currently watching all of this was an old man of advanced age wearing a simple lab coat. His height is quite average, though he seems to have a hunch. His most notable feature is that he often has his eyes closed, as well as a birthmark that can be found on his right temple.
Gensei Kihara.
Gathered alongside him were two of his trusted Shock Troopers from both sides, wearing advanced futuristic gear, armor, and equipment that accompanied their dark-black uniforms. Made out of living concepts, having no amount of free will on their very own, almost like that of a machine—especially one programmable by a computer—capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically. Multiple numbers of these Shock Troopers were present throughout the area where Gensei was located, standing in tight formation.
And right now, he was sporting a simple smile, pondering the battle with interest, with both hands behind his back.
"Well, well, it would appear that one of A.I.M.'s clients is now making use of the Riotrooper Extremis Mark 3 just as predicated. No doubt that the Board Chairman and everyone else in Academy City and throughout the entire world is watching this unfold from before their very eyes."
The Riotrooper Extremis Mark 3.
Based on the mass-produced paramilitary foot soldiers of the inter-multiversal company Smart Brain, capable of withstanding the vast majority of anti-tank weaponry and other military assets in Academy City. A highly advanced exoskeleton armor, equipped with a Level Upper function device that would allow further enhancements in terms of esper ability and development, with the standard high-tech onboard weaponry that was capable of decimating entire city blocks to entire city districts, and is fueled by a combination of photon streams and the dreaded Extremis virus that was created and developed by Dr. Aldrich Killian and Dr. Maya Hansen of MV Universe-616, and the virus had since then gone through numerous innovations and improvements.
And at that moment...
"The times of hiding our presence on this planet for over a thousand years or so are almost at an end just as it were to be scheduled, General Kihara Gensei, so this peculiar incident would matter not to something like us. As a matter of fact, we would welcome this golden opportunity with open arms."
Who had spoken with Gensei Kihara appeared to be someone talking through a holographic monolith that was sporting the words "CO-290" at the center, located in the eastern direction a few meters close to Gensei. The voice in particular seems to be disguised as a robotic static deeper monotone voice that would make identifying the voice of the one it belonged to, even with regards to certain traits like gender, personality, physical features, and other traits that could be traced back to one's enemies on the prowl. The voice belonged to none other than one of over 300 members of the Committee Oversight Council, or CO-Council for short.
"The months that are to follow would no doubt be a month of overall preparations that would have to be enacted as swiftly as possible. Both artificial sides of this world are about to bear witness to what is perhaps an indirect public statement that is being broadcasted everywhere around the globe, and this would no doubt benefit us and a few others in ways that would allow for a few minor distractions to occur in light of what is to come soon in the month of July."
"Ah yes," Gensei would nod in agreement, with his smile turning grim for the first time, denoting a sense of seriousness. "July 20, the marked fixed event where everything truly starts to turn with the coming of A Certain Magical Index, the keeper of over 103,000 magical grimoires. The event would have us and many others quite concerned due to a few certain rumors that if are to be believed might pose quite the dramatic problem that this world might not be prepared to brush over just like any other problem. The status quo of this world by then would no doubt be shaken when the crimson shadow that even has us fearful and cautious would make its debut in an indirect and more gravitas and charismatic fashion. And then would come a predicted invasion that may or may not leave this world or several worlds alive. And this would no doubt become a threat to our New World Order."
"A threat not just to us specifically, but to quite literally everything else and one that is not to be heavily underestimated by even a single microsecond of eternity," CO-290 would explain further. "I do not think that I would need to remind you of the cosmic significance that this particular threat would impose upon us all. And in light of this, the Radio Noise Project of ACMI Universe-Prime would need to make a few certain adjustments in terms of schedule. Instead of one clone, why not add two or possibly more numbers to the experimental battlefield if possible depending on the timing and the given place of operation when dealing with Accelerator? The one-on-one tactic must be getting quite stale for him as of this point, yes?"
"Oh I suppose that it seems to be the case as of now since it had been over two years since the experiment was enacted," Gensei would muse. "And in light of this, more live battle tests are quite useful for myself and my fellow scientists to analyze further if we are to create perfect soldiers for the greater good. And speaking of which, I can only assume that these live battle tests would prove to be of your liking, CO-290?," Gensei looked towards his right, sporting a respectful expression towards the holographic monolith, addressing it as if it were his superior, one of many 300 of such individuals whose names remain an anonymity in order for secrecy to be maintained.
"The tests were most acceptable in terms of the timetable that had been provided for and given that they were currently being applied to many of our soldiers that are programmed for more militaristic and subversive purposes throughout the battlefields. But one must also take the necessary step of precautions as well since we know just how much our dreaded adversary, the Lord of Time, would not leave this project alone for a single instance, knowing him. No doubt that he and his allies might have prepared some unwanted surprises that may have been enacted already as far as conjecture and prudence would allow me to deduce," CO-290 cautioned prudently.
"Oh, but with respect, CO-290, it would not matter much in the way of things if the Time Lord and his allies were to try and would no doubt have interfered upon the Radio Noise Project of my universe. More variants of the Radio Noise Project throughout multiple universes have already provided us with more than enough of an assessment to deal with this particular issue. It would not matter even when they were to try to save all of the sisters that are created in this universe, to which may indeed provide us a further benefit to our endeavor," Gensei explained as if not concerned of such a prospect that was proposed in an act of caution.
"Hmmm. That is true," CO-290 would agree with the assessment in the same logical monotone. "And in light of all of this, what do you think of our mutual client, acquaintance, and benefactor, Kihara Kamui? What does he think of this little incident that is no doubt being broadcasted live on ACMI Universe-Prime? I have no doubt that he is watching as well from somewhere remote and out of reach for most, and would take an absolute interest in this due to the fact that the Imagine Breaker, one of our most dangerous adversaries to date and his very own adversary, is now directly involved in dealing with the individual that was wearing the Riotrooper Extremis Mark 3."
Kamui Kihara.
An Individual of Importance (IoI) that originated in ACMI Universe-000, a world and universe that was very similar in historical background, significance, and timeline to ACMI Universe-Prime from before the Imagine Point Event, if with a few minor additions. Kamui being one of those additions. A member of the Kihara Family, and perhaps the most dangerous and most unpredictable of them all.
A driven man, full of ambition, and the living definition of a "mad scientist". For him, the only thing he sees clearly is results and the ways to achieve them are only methods, so he can pursue those results themselves that would cover multiple scientific fields as it is written down within several official scientific papers. He dips in and out of different fields like a sport as a personal hobby. However, if there is one thing that he focuses on in his work, it is that he does not rest until he has dismantled that field and broken it into pieces. His papers, despite the mind that writes them, are truly genius and well ahead of the times. The results he has reached have oftentimes revolutionized the fields he works in. But they are often the subject of much controversy and he has, more often than not, been discredited in the fields he has worked in because of his papers, despite how genius and well ahead of the times they are.
And it is through these exact means and methods which he is to apply and give certain objective proposals. And these in turn would go against the foundations of the scientific community as a whole. For the simple fact remains that he had managed to achieve what is quite probably one of the most insidious experimental procedures that had ever been devised by the most twisted of minds in relation to all mankind itself.
Personality Swipe.
A reminiscent copy and a more scientific variation of St. Germain, the name of a magician or rather the collective identity that had spread using pills. St. Germain was no one yet it was through the ingestion of particular pills and microbes that allowed someone to become St. Germain. It did not discriminate and allowed anyone to become that person, that magician.
Kamui Kihara is an old enemy and part of the rogues gallery of one Touma Kamijou of ACMI Universe-Prime, and one that the latter had, unfortunately, had to deal with and tangled with during the events of the Endless June Incident across multiple time loops, world hopping between the fragments, and other confidential and controversial circumstances. Both the Touma Kamijou of ACMI Universe-Prime and this man go a long way back in terms of an uncountable millennium of endless loops in light of A Certain Rural Village that was located at HWTC Universe-Prime and several dozen or so worlds that could not be chronicled in depth due to its length, width, and height in the cosmic viewpoint of perspectives and train of thought.
"Hmmm. I have no doubt that he would be watching this as much as anyone of importance would," Gensei said, sporting a pondering expression.
"Do you think that it would be a problem in the future, General?," asked CO-290, as if in a monotone of inquiry. "Considering Kamui's interest and dare I say unhealthy obsession if a bit too subtle with Kamijou Touma of ACMI Universe-Prime due to his unique trait that distinguishes him among all variants of Kamijou Touma, including the specific variant of ACMI Universe-000, making it his own personal study in past time so to speak. There's also the relation to their overall bloodied history that had happened in relation to Hinamizawa so many years ago that is still being talked about in whispers, rumors, and stories. One would think that Kamui might have something on his sleeve that might prove quite unfortunate if one were to take into account of some manner of practical results. It comes as no surprise that I would find this to be a bit too concerning and close to home, especially when dealing with madmen of his caliber, and this dangerous man in turn would remind me of a long-dead but not forgotten Clown who had officially been given his comeuppance years ago from my perspective."
"Yes, I too would take this one into careful account and consideration when dealing with the likes of Kamui, CO-290," Gensei said, sporting a grim, understanding expression. "Among all of the Kiharas in any universe, this one among the literal few has my full and undivided attention in light of his brilliance and intellect in terms of innovation and improvement in multiple fields with such potential and gravitas for absolute genius. But like any Kihara, he has no qualms about morality or ethics. He doesn't care what he has to do for the sake of his own goals and is willing to sacrifice anything for the sake of Science. And yet, there is no other Kihara that I know that takes this to the utmost extreme as Kihara Kamui. He is quite the unpredictable individual because of the fact that he follows the fundamental principle and ideal that one would consider to be the exact opposite of what Kamijou Touma had stood for in any possible universe that also includes my very own."
"Do I need a reason to hurt someone?" CO-290 said in an undecipherable monotone. "That particular line of thought I suppose that it is something that raises concerns due to such an unpredictable principle when theoretically applied in practice. A bit of a blend between chaotic and orderly, which when properly balanced, may be proved to be quite the valuable asset or a mere hindrance that is to be swept aside when its usefulness is at its most reachable limits beyond what even we have intended to do."
Do I need a reason to hurt someone?
The words that, changed a little, held so much power and worth in them but had been changed even the tiniest bit to produce one of the worst sentences known to man that could produce such a ripple of cause and effect that would influence even the prescribed setting of the world itself. For even such a simple principle can achieve a result so vile and gruesome.
"Are you perhaps recalling the infamous incident that happened in ACMI Universe-000, CO-290?" Gensei sported a raised eyebrow and a pondering expression, putting a hand to his chin. "The one that involved the fiancé of one Kongou Mitsuko. I believe that his first name was Aaron if I'm not mistaken."
"Aaron Gracestone, a 14-year-old prodigy who was marveled for his savant-like understanding of electronics and circuitry. Such knowledge and high IQ had meant he had risen within the ranks of the world and because of such, stood at the high echelons of one of the major electronics companies of the world; Circuits and Chips. And...also one of the many victims that had been twisted and turned into...well, Kihara Kamui."
It may not seem apparent from the monotone voice, but there was a hint of tiny displeasure that remained undetectable.
"Quite a pity. The boy had such potential that he could have been of use to us, and if he were to not joined us directly, he at least gave us an open door of opportunities that could have been exploited. And if one were to get technical, there were at least three official fiancés that were involved. I've already discussed Aaron, but there are at least two who have died at Kamui's hand. To continue the introspective, there is Kisaragi Maeda, the 16-year-old heir to the famous Kisaragi Motors, a famous motor company of the world by any other name. Then there was Damian F. Slivka, a 22-year-old man who was serving on the board of one of the biggest energy companies in the world, Unergy. Alas, they too could have been of use if not for their inevitable demise. Aside from these three, there's also his partial handiwork to consider which is quite well apparent on the official early news broadcast. More than a hundred or so individuals have been estimated to have died in the fallout that involved a violent shootout to put things mildly, and this would lead to a contributing unfortunate final choice that was made by none other than Index Librorum Prohibitorum of ACMI Universe-000. Adding on to the fact that I seem to recall the official recording that had been given to me from one of my spies that were observing the events that were unfolding in the cover of absolute silence."
"Ah, that particular incident wherein he had managed to torture the Kamijou Touma of his universe, even managing to rip his left arm off clean, all with the purpose of trying to break him. Quite the efficient method with the added trait of a sadistic brutal mentality in the works if I may say so myself, CO-290," Gensei could only smile with subtlety.
"And it is that very incident that let me confirm one thing. Kihara Kamui is an individual who is absolutely focused and driven by the goal of science itself. He is dangerous, ruthless, unpredictable, and random, not caring for any form of collateral damage so long as practical results are achieved to their fullest potential. And he is an individual that should not be underestimated, considered as the living definition of 'throw a spanner in the works', and is to be kept a close eye on. I and the COs would rather not have to deal with another Joker in the making that might prove to be a minor nuisance more than necessary. And you and I both know what that would mean, General."
"Quite," Gensei would smile with subtlety. "We'd rather not have to make the same mistake as Ra's al Ghul did when he underestimated the Clown, and one where I had a hand to take advantage of in 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'. Although, if I were to interject, Kihara Kamui and the Joker may have heavy similarities for comparison's sake, but in spite of that, they are two entirely different people with their own goals and ambitions. Whereas Kamui is fundamentally interested in science, the Joker is instead fundamentally interested in chaos. If it came down to it in simple terms, both men are brilliant scientists in the making. The Joker of DC Universe-Prime for instance is perhaps one of if not the greatest chemists in history, capable of creating chemicals that could affect a Literal Goddess and Man of Steel. The same could be said for Kihara Kamui of ACMI Universe-000's contributions to the art of Personality Swipe which would no doubt be of use to us. I for one would like to point this out as part of my contribution to the introspective of character."
"That I am also well aware, General, and that too is taken into account. Still, one could not help but compare the two in relation to the Imagine Breaker of ACMI Universe-Prime based on conceivable indications that are to be pondered with interest. After all, one could hardly forget the numerous battles between the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime of DC Universe-Prime," CO-290 said simply in a monotone.
"Oh, I doubt that anyone would forget such a thing, CO-290, that I can be quite certain of with surety," Gensei would say with a smile of conviction.

Kakero! Spider Man Toei Theme with English Lyrics
Somewhere in Academy City was an open intersection that would lead to four roads.
And it was burning as is apparent with the grey-colored collection of airborne particulates and gases emitted throughout the area.
Orange crimson flames were found in the broken windows and scorched pavements and asphalt roads. Damaged vehicles that were recently abandoned by the fleeing crowd of civilians were seen from the background. And the damaged vehicles themselves were being scorched by the flames, some of which were exploding before eventually being put out by firefighting foam hand grenades that were utilized and thrown by one Touma Kamijou in order to minimize the potential damage and ammo that could be used against the robber wearing an advance exoskeleton armor, and to whom Kamijou was currently locked in a battle against. And it was also used to prevent any of the flames from reaching the fleeing civilians who were nearby.
Both Kamijou and the robber were in mid-flight. A barrage of repulsor rays would be sent in a straight omnidirectional circular pattern, materializing in the form of red particle waves that would be seen hovering over the physical appearance of the armored robber. As the repulsor rays came near, Kamijou would employ his shield which managed to parry the attack which would strike through several buildings which were thankfully clear of any civilians from the nefarious strike and would fire his own set of repulsors that would counter and disperse the red colored rays with his own blue colored rays, with the area gaining bright sparkles of light that were emitted and flashed by the two muon particle beams, creating small rapid expansions in volume associated with an extremely vigorous outward release of energy, emitting high temperatures as orange sparks were seen falling on a downward, upward, and sideways direction.
And then came the clash that was likened to that of something that one could seemingly find in a shounen manga. Both sides would employ a set of punches and kicks in rapid succession at enhanced superspeed, with orange electrical sparks and orange crimson flames being seen to create a psychedelic aesthetic that would be seen by everyone who was no doubt watching from a safe distance. Aside from punches and kicks, Kamijou would make use of his shield as well in order to parry the attacks that were sent his way and create his own method of attack, employing the art of Defensu, a hand-to-hand combat system based on practical experience mixed with Jujutsu and boxing that was developed to train the Shanghai Municipal Police, and was later taught in expanded form to Office of Strategic Services and Special Operations Executive members during World War II.
Kamijou was gracefully dodging a barrage of red-colored muon beams, making various side jumps and steps in various directions and even through the air in an appropriate manner of timing, dodging the last muon beam by edging his body to the left while on the air and would fire his own blue muon beams, sending it towards the center of the robber who would be brunt by the force of the beam's impact, sending the robber at least a few meters away of a distance of 15 meters before finding his balance once again, raising both of his hands and performing a circular motion gesture that would allow the robber to draw out the remaining flames that were around the vicinity and hurl it towards Kamijou, who responded by using his trusted shield that was present to his left arm, sending the flames to multiple opposite directions, scorching the areas where the flames landed.
And at that moment, Kamijou would dash forward in a form of superspeed, pacing at least 5 meters per second, with his shield parrying the flame-throwing strike that was being hurled at him, with orange electrical sparks seen from his basketball shoes, and from the palm of his right hand, there was a certain hand grenade that would be thrown to the side of the ground which would automatically explode, creating a foam-like substance that would cool off the flames that were present at the robber's armor, much to the annoyance of the robber who would eventually make use of one function of his armor that allows him to disperse the foam instantly, evaporating them in a few seconds.
But those few seconds were more than enough for Kamijou who would raise his right fist which was packed with orange electrical charges that came forth from his glove, punching to the right side of the face, before continuing his punches through the torso, chin, and both sides of the face. Then the robber would counter by transforming his right gauntlet into an energy handle blade which would be used to slash at Kamijou from the neck, only for the latter to make use of his shield, parrying the attack, but was kicked by the robber to the chest, sending Kamijou flying a few meters away before stopping.
And the both of them would continue their barrage of concussive blasts of blue and red, with each landing precise aim upon the other. The robber would fire a unibeam through the use of the central reactor to his chest which would be parried by Kamijou's shield, reflecting it towards one part of the building, with the rubble coming down on top of the robber, only for the robber to make sharp twisted blade made out of flames in a perpendicular motion through the use of specific hand gestures, slicing through the rubble that was about to land on top of him.
Kamijou would automatically cast a reflective shield upon himself through the use of his gloves, creating what was likened to an orange electromagnetic-like field and making use of another function of his gloves, firing a shear-thinning liquid in a straight-line stream that would stick through the shoulders of the robber, much to his surprise before getting dragged so suddenly towards Kamijou's position in order to get decked to the face through the use of a mean right hook that was covered in orange electrical discharges, sending him towards a broken window and landing on a bunch of fashionable clothing.
Eventually, the robber, after lightly touching his chin and reorienting himself, would launch himself once again in a straight line, firing a set of muon beams that would be hurled at Kamijou who would continue to parry it with his trusted shield, blocking each strike that would emit multiple holes across the asphalt road.
Only...
"Oofff!"
The robber gets thrown away to a few several meters through the use of an automobile, sending him hurling towards the pavement. And that in turn brought Kamijou's attention as he looked towards the direction where it was thrown, spotting Mikoto Misaka confidently striding towards him, with blue electrical sparks seen from her head and body.
"Hey you, I'd figure that you could use a little help with this punk. You wouldn't mind would you?" Misaka asked, raising an eyebrow and sporting a smile of humor.
Kamijou could only smile, nodding. "Not minding the backup at all," he would say before noticing the automobile that was thrown blowing up, with its various parts and tires scattering throughout the area, revealing a living torch that would not die out. "Although you should probably be careful around this guy. The armor that he is practically wearing allows him to basically become a living torch that could burn and combust anyone for over 5 to 10 meters away, so drawing near to him is out of the question for most people."
"The Railgun," the robber commented out of a sense of caution, recognizing the woman whose data files would be shown from his visor. "Well, this changes things drastically. Still..."
And thus, the robber would begin to lift himself off of the air through the use of his thrusters, sending him a few feet from the air in a dash of speed that seem to have gone to over Mach 5.
"I'm not stupid enough to fight on the ground if that's the case," he would say, firing his repulsor beams at Kamijou and Misaka. The beams would however divert from their trajectory due to a blue-colored electromagnetic field barrier that would suddenly erupt from Misaka which would spread out from a few meters. Multiple damaged vehicles and other forms of metal throughout the surrounding area would be lifted and hovered and sent towards the robber, courtesy of Misaka who was quite capable of manipulating metal.
However...
"I'm not stupid enough to fall for that trick twice!" the robber exclaimed, raising his gauntlets, firing precise concussive blasts at the various metals and objects that were to be hurled his way, with the burning automobiles and other objects being used against his opponents, bending it back towards them through the use of one of the specific functions of his armor. "You're not the only one who could control metal, you high-level esper bitch."
"!" Misaka sported a surprised expression, raising her right arm that would send a few objects to intercept the objects that would try to hit them, producing multiple explosions, with the debris scattering from multiple directions, breaking the glass windows of various buildings and establishments.
And then, the robber would suddenly teleport towards her back, much to the latter's surprise. She was about to be kicked to the right and she would have been able to negate the attack, but was parried by Kamijou, anticipating the fact that the robber would anticipate the counterattack and plan other attacks accordingly with the help of his visor that was showing more approriate battle tactics and transmitting it directly to the brain of the user, who had thrown his trusted circular shield which would mentally be sent back to the robber and then back to Kamijou who would dash towards the robber and perform a series of CQC punches and kicks which were sometimes dodged or parried by the robber.
The robber would instantly notice something happening on the ground that he was standing on. Blackish substances that were performing a subtle circular pattern.
"Iron sand!" he thought in alarm, eventually making use of the teleportation function of his armor to get out of the danger zone by the time the iron sand would get him and try to tear his armor to shreds with sharply pointed tendrils and back towards a few meters from the air, launching a pair of modified missiles that would be aimed at both Kamijou and Misaka.
"Scatter!" Kamijou exclaimed, as he and Misaka would dash together at tremendous speeds and employing acrobatic techniques, dodging the missiles that were about to make an impact upon the ground and explode in a diameter of about 10 meters, creating multiple craters throughout the asphalt road and the surrounding area that was emitting smoke that was rising to the air. Some vehicles that were caught in the blast would explode, with the tires flying in different directions, with some of them landing on the broken windows of various establishments.
Orange crimson flames would be seen from the arms of the robber's armor, a mixture of his esper ability and the potent Extremis virus that was further intensifying the generated heat. He would teleport once again, a few meters toward Kamijou and Misaka's position, blasting orange crimson fireballs that would be parried by Kamijous's shield. Another teleportation later, the robber would fire another set of fireballs from the back which were dispersed away by Misaka's electricity. Then Misaka would send a flicker of her lightning at the robber who would teleport at the last second once again, appearing from above and firing high-density muon beams which were instantly parried by Kamijou's own.
And yet another teleportation later, the robber would begin to launch a 5-meter wall of tidal wave-like flames by pressing both of his palms upon the ground which would eventually be countered by Kamijou through the use of modified hand grenades that were thrown, spraying firefighting foam that would instantly dispersed the wall of flames.
After noticing the robber's disappearance once again, Kamijou would exclaim. "Back to back!"
Then Kamijou and Misaka would put their backs against each other, with their eyes looking in whatever direction and honing their sharpest of instincts.
No sign of the robber. Instead, there was a clear view of the intensive property damage that was created in light of the battle that had taken place. Multiple flame balls would be hurled from many directions which were dispersed instantly by Misaka who would eventually spot a fast-moving armored endoskeleton would try to aim blowtorch-like jets that would be targeted at various parts of her body, only for it to fail due to the electromagnetic field dissipating the flames, with Kamijou performing a counter maneuver by throwing his shield towards the predicted spot where the robber would teleport next, getting hit to the torso in the process which would send him a few meters to the asphalt road, with his body stopping from his tracks as he used both of his arms to put a balanced momentum, eventually flipping a few meters while firing repulsor blasts that were countered by Kamijou's shield and Misaka's iron sand.
The iron sand would eventually form a set of knives that would be sent towards the robber from multiple directions, which the robber would dodge once again, firing a set of repulsor beams which were parried by Kamijou who would use his jet boots to fly once again.
Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire.
Both Kamijou and the robber were firing each other's respective repulsors, and would enter into a form of CQC combat and trained martial arts tactics. Multiple punches and kicks were employed, trying to hit each other's weak spot, One kick from the robber was parried by Kamijou who raised his right arm and perform a counter punch which was parried by the robber. The robber would activate miniature size turrets from his shoulder blades, firing red lasers which would be dodged by Kamijou who would also counter a kick to the solar plexus and torso multiple times in succession.
And while the firefight was happening in the air, Misaka could only watch as she tried to calculate the precise aim that she would have to use for this particular moment. Then, she would launch herself a few feet above the ground, with the sparks being apparent from her legs, as she would walk through the walls of buildings and form multiple iron sand constructs and lightning that would be hurled precisely at the armored robber who would dodge them and Kamijou's repulsor attacks at the exact same time.
Kamijou would take note of the way that the robber moves, realizing immediately that this was no ordinary thug. That this thug was trained to fight against superpowered individuals and is specifically trained to deal with them based on his familiarity with him not a moment ago. And judging by the name "Smart Brain" that was present from the buckle, Kamijou could take a guess that the thug was associated with the infamous company that would give trouble to one of his Kamen Rider senseis before back in the day, specifically in the years of 2003 to 2004.
Kamijou would see multiple barrages of missiles being launched towards him and are all primed and targeted automatically. In other words, he was being tagged. Kamijou would eventually fly southwards as he would try to shake the missiles off of his tail, with his situation being likened to that of a dogfight.
And while Kamijou would try to think of a situation that could be used against the enemy, Misaka would begin to fire a large discharge of electricity in the form of a continuous chain that was headed straight for the robber.
Only...
The robber wasn't dodging. Instead, he was simply raising his right arm. Then as the lightning struck, electrical currents would begin to spread out throughout his entire appearance. But he didn't seem to be hurt.
"Don't you know, girl?"
At that moment, he would begin to make use of another function within his armor.
"That lightning is a very good conductor for fire."
His entire physical appearance would become torched to the point of a living flame, with red neon colored lights being present to form the pattern around his armor and with his visor sporting a red colored visage. The robber was applying the basic principle of using his armor as a very good electrical conductor in order to charge up his offensive attack. And good conductors like a metal lightning rod and thick grounding cable allow electrons to move freely and will not destructively overheat during a lightning strike.
"Which just so happens to be my playing field."
And at that moment, as the armor would absorb the electricity, it would get sent back to Misaka, with a single bolt made up of concentrated massive amounts of energy that would be sent in an equivalent of about a thousand or so volts.
Fortunately, Misaka would absorb the lightning bolt that was hurled at her, raising both of her hands in a straightforward position and absorbing the brunt of the impact with a twitch in her eye, with her being likened to a more perfect conductor due to the fact that by her very nature as a Level 5 electromaster, with the electric current of her nerves providing for such a feat that was likened to that of a flowing river, with her narrowed eyes producing sparks of electricity.
"And you're not the only one who could maintain a good conduction of electricity," Misaka would speak in a serious tone, before thinking. "("That and Hokaze-san's training for the past few months seem to be paying off just fine.")"
And while this was happening, Kamijou would begin to raise both of his hands and legs and mid-flight and boost him backward, dodging the missiles at each close call, dodging by moving a neck to the right, moving both of his legs upwards before moving the body sideways, and other twists and turns. And after dodging the last missile by bending a little to the right, he would instantly blast his way toward the armored robber, with the orange electrical current present from his gloves and shoes, maintaining enough speed that would allow the missiles to catch up with him by just a few seconds, and by the time they were a few meters too close, Kamijou would have managed to instantly tag the robber by holding both sides of the shoulder, much to the surprise of the robber.
"Tag."
Kamijou would say before performing a front flip maneuver by using both shoulder blades off the armored robber as support and would instantly dive towards the ground. And by the next few moments, the robber would instantly notice far too late as he glance to his back that the missiles would head towards his position, and would strike him towards the torso, creating a rapid expansion in volume associated with an extremely vigorous outward release of energy, which would send the robber flying a few 25 meters away, crash landing towards the second floor of a five-story building.
And as Kamijou would land gracefully on the asphalt ground with the help of his supercharged shoes, he would raise himself up from the ground, with his trusted shield to his left arm on the ready. A few moments later, he would spot Misaka from the corner of his eye who would head straight towards him, jumping from one side of the building and landing a few meters nearby, with the conjured electricity from her legs that would help with the landing without any pain.
"That was quite the cool maneuver you just did back there," Misaka would sport an impressed smile, with a hand placed on her waist.
"Wasn't really that easy to pull it off due to the way that the missiles were honed at me," Kamijou would say, sporting a humble smile.
And then, they would hear the sound of jet thrusters being heard from the distance, spotting the armored robber who was flying a few meters in the air, with a few highly exothermic flames present from his armor.
"Ok, this is getting us nowhere, any suggestions?" Misaka asked, raising an eyebrow of concern.
"Hmmm," Kamijou begin to sport a pondering expression, maintaining his quick-thinking skills in light of the situation. "I think I have one, but it may feel like the epitome of a kamikaze attack if it weren't for the fact that I could handle it just fine."
And then, he would take a few steps back, pacing himself, with Misaka sporting a curious expression. Kamijou would eventually start running in full sprints and launching himself into the air through the use of powered-up basketball shoes that would sport orange electrical sparks. In mid-flight, just a few meters into the air, he would move from both the left and the right direction in a continuous straight line, with a few twisting maneuvers that were too close for comfort, dodging the repulsor fire that was sent his way. Created flames of a thousand degrees would be seen and Kamijou would begin to counter the flames as he would raise his right hand, making a shattering sound effect that was booming throughout the area, seemingly negating the flames upon impact, and would begin to fire specific EMP blue colored repulsor blasts that managed to disorient the robber entirely due to the electromagnetic interference that was jamming the artificial systems of his armor, hitting through the torso by over a 5% discharge of muons, sending him a few distances before trying to make himself steady.
But by the time he made himself steady, Kamijou had already made a surprise attack, transmitting himself to his back and performing a counterattack in the form of two hands joined together, forming a knuckle, and slamming the armored robber senselessly towards the ground where Kamijou was waiting for him, having teleported to that location and performed a right hook that managed to punch the robber to the faceplate, creating a shockwave that managed to send the shattering glasses throughout the area flying, sending him to another direction before getting punched again by Kamijou who had teleported by another appropriate distance.
A few teleported punches later and the armored robber would begin to crash toward the ground. As the robber lay down on the ground, his armor would glow into a luminescent red as he would unleash a wave of artificially produced lava from both of his hands that were likened to a modified flamethrower, firing it on Kamijou who managed to parry it with his shield and managed to reflect it back a few meters away, with the magma molting the parts of the asphalt floor that were getting caught by the outpouring before automatically solidifying into constructive processes.
"Oh dear god, this guy just shot actual lava on his hands!"
Ruiko Saten exclaimed, as she would sport a tremendously shocked, dreadful, and concerned expression. She and two of her friends who were sporting the same more-or-less expressions as she had, Kazari Uiharu and Kuroko Shirai, would watch the live broadcast of the battle through the use of Uiharu's laptop that was placed upon Uiharu's lap. A few others like the tour guide and the young boy who had been found earlier were also watching
They and many others around them have been watching the battle for over a few minutes or so, concerned at the tremendous amount of damage that was now engulfing District 7.
Anti-Skill as of this time had already been notified by Shirai who had done as Kamijou had asked despite the multitude of questions that she had been having ever since she had first found out that their new friend is actually the famous rumored vigilante of urban legends.
A Certain Unknown Level 0.
For Saten, this was quite the dream come true in spite of the current event that is taking place that may as well have her quite terrified despite not showing it. For she like so many others throughout the city had heard about this vigilante ever since last year. At that time, it was simply quite a novelty. Here was someone who was deemed to be a Level 0 in terms of ability, and yet would seem to have the capability to go up against Level 3s and Level 4s with nothing but state-of-the-art technology that she and many others are now currently seeing.
There was one unique feature with regards to A Certain Unknown Level 0. He seems to be interconnected with other rumors. One prime example would refer to the urban legend surrounding an ability-negating person that prevents other abilities from being used on him. From what she and others could tell, this seems to be quite true, especially when one would take into account of the multiple times when a right hand was seemingly raised to act as a shield of sorts that would create a glass-shattering effect that would disperse the flames back as swift as where it came from. There was also another interesting rumor about him which relates to the urban legend of the Level 0 who has met more than half the Level 5s. Not counting Mikoto Misaka whom Touma Kamijou had met most recently for the past few days, if the rumors are to be believed, then there is a chance that he would know a bunch of Level 5s based on his escapades alone. It was one that Saten would probably ask Kamijou when given the chance, at least after the situation is over and dealt with.
"Woah! Onii-san is so cool!" exclaimed the young boy who was right beside Uiharu, looking at the laptop monitor with excitement.
And by the time the young boy had exclaimed this, they would all see Touma Kamijou charging straight ahead with his shield, dashing through the actually molten lava on the asphalt road without a care in the world, with orange electrical sparks that were seen occur from his shoes which produced a roadrunner fire effect in a straight line fashion. And by the time he manages to reach a few meters, he would throw the shield back to the robber in a straight wise fashion, automatically reflecting the lava that was sprouting from the hands. Kamijou takes advantage of this as he dashes forward for a few paces before jumping a few meters into the air, with the shield already hitting the robber in the torso, sending him back by 5 meters.
Kamijou would begin to shoot shear-thinning liquids from both of his hands which were designed to withstand higher temperatures, meaning to let the robber stick both of his arms and legs together, with the circular shield having been returned to Kamijou who would wear it through his left arm through the use of flexible straps, and would dive through the ground, firing a set of shear-thinning liquids to the armored robber's torso, making an offensive strike that would knock the armored robber a few 10 meters away, slamming towards a nearby automobile and smashing it's left side doors.
"D-D-Did you just see what I think I just saw?!"
"Oh my, just who is that dashing gentleman?!"
"Wow! An actual real-life superhero in Academy City?!"
"It's him! It's gotta be him! A Certain Unknown Level 0!"
Somewhere in the hallways of Tokiwadai Middle School, many of the Tokiwadai students were watching the live broadcast that was depicting a battle between Touma Kamijou and the armored robber. Many students, both Tokiwadai students from middle school and high school, would see the spectacle that was happening in front of them with wide open interests, shock and awe, admiration, curiosity, and other forms of expressions that were present in many students.
Among the crowd who were watching were two individuals who could be considered very old friends of Mikoto Misaka.
The first young woman looks like a gyaru. She has light-colored tawny hair, tied into an odango hairstyle with ball-shaped hair clips, and tanned skin. She wears the Tokiwadai Middle School school summer uniform. She wears a black pair of shorts under her skirt, and a fanny bag. Instead of the regulatory loafers, she wears sneakers.
Rurikakesu Shin'enkouji.
The second young woman has dark-colored hair, with an exposed forehead and prominent eyebrows. She wears the Tokiwadai Middle School uniform.
Kiyoshi Kessai.
"Heeh. It appears that things had gotten a lot interesting around here. Mikoto-chan appears to have made a new friend, and this friend is apparently a super badass," Shin'enkouji sported a pleased smirk, recalling her best friend and junior who was seen a while ago alongside Touma Kamijou as they were both fighting the armored robber with everything they got.
"...Just...who is this person?" Kessai asked herself, sporting a curious expression, looking at Kamijou with interest, mesmerized and intrigued by the way he fights with nothing but simple state-of-the-art gadgets and a right hand that would seemingly perform negation feats that were accompanied by the sound of shattering glass.
And the response to that question...
"Kamijou Touma."
"Hmm?" both Kessai and Shin'enkouji sported curious and shocked expressions based on the familiarity of the voice what was whispered softly to them alone, glancing towards the back, only to find the Tokiwadai Dorm Supervisor with arms crossed, sporting a smile that was no doubt directed towards the young spiky-haired man who was fighting against the armored exoskeleton individual. And they were both glancing back and forth between the young spiky-haired man and the Tokiwadai Dorm Supervisor.
"D-D-Dorm Manager!," Kessai stuttered, immediately catching on to the fact that the Supervisor appears to know him based on the positive tone and the smile of trust that was present on her face.
The Supervisor would draw closer to the two, putting both of her hands on their shoulders in an act of reassurance.
"Watch closely, young ladies," she would say with a smile, before sporting a serious, confident expression that was turned towards the television that was placed on the wall. "Consider this your official lesson for today."
And as they watched attentively, the armored robber would begin to lift the automobile that he had crashed into and threw it at Kamijou who had managed to dodge it for a few seconds, and then he begins to aim and fire a muon beam from his right hand that managed to parry another muon beam, creating multiple bright spectacles and sparks. At that point, the armored robber would begin to sport crimson red electrical strikes that were being hurled at Kamijou who only parried with his shield from multiple directions while moving fast pace, making backflips and shooting repulsor rays that managed to parry the electrical strikes, creating multiple sparkling effects.
"Yeah, that's right boss! Kick this guy's ass!"
Agent Shiage Hamazura was cheering on for his best friend who was fighting against the armored individual who had been identified as one of the robbers who were committing a bank robbery in the middle of broad daylight. He had recently heard from the comm channels that the special containment tube was specifically designed in case an Extremis situation were to occur. Lord knows just how truly dangerous that stuff is, Agent Hamazura would think to himself.
"Yaaay! Go, Touma-oniichan! Go! Go! Go!" Fremea Seivelun would sport an excited expression, jumping up and down as she sees Kamijou fighting against the armored indivdual.
And as she was yelling in cheering out of a state of excitement, her older sister, Frenda Seivelun, and her teammates among ITEM: Shizuri Mugino, Saiai Kinuhata, and Rikou Takitsubo would sport attentive and impressed expressions on their faces as they watch the events unfolding from the television that was pasted to a wall.
They would see Kamijou dodge an incoming repulsor ray which created a hole into the wall of cement. Kamijou in turn would fire multiple shear-thinning liquids from his gloves that would spray over the flame balls that were being sent to his location. Dodging another crimson red electrical strike, he fires a repulsor ray from his left, hitting the right shoulder blade of the armored robber who grunted at the impact, and then Kamijou would dodge another red repulsor beam that created a crater to the ground. At that point, Kamijou would begin to throw his shield in a clockwise direction, hitting the robber and making him land 5 meters on the pavement before backflipping and blasting off, firing multiple rounds of repulsor rays that were being parried by Kamijou's shield.
Then Kamijou would begin to make a fast-paced dash, with orange electrical sparks seen from his person which originating from his gloves and shoes, arriving at about 5 meters by about a nanosecond and would make himself dash headfast to the ground, sliding in turn and firing his repulsors sideways after arriving another 7 meters, shooting through the shoulders and torso which made the robber grunt.
The robber in turn would notice the shear-thinning liquid that was sticking into his shoulder blades, and what appeared to be aluminum canisters that was beeping like a clock on a timer.
"("Oh shit!.")" the robber would think to himself as he would try to dismantle the ticking time bombs with the EMP function of his armor. But the detonation was far too quick, sending an electromagnetic pulse shock that would shock the robber senselessly, screaming in turn as he would lose control of his drop towards a wall and crashed into the ground, revealing the cracks where he had brushed and landed on.
"Oooooh. Now that's gotta super hurt," Kinuhata couldn't help but make a side comment with an excited smile on her face.
But the robber wasn't out just yet. For he had managed to get up too quickly and unleashed a large heatwave temperature shield that managed to melt any object that was nearby by over 5 meters or so.
"Alright, A Certain Unknown Level 0, I'm not done playing yet! What else you got!"
The robber would boast as the shield would increased in temperature, melting any object as he drew near, dashing towards Kamijou. But Kamijou was quick to his feet, firing from both the ground and on the air what appeared to be gusts of cold that approached absolute zero and froze everything that was in its path, first on the ground and then to a few meters in height that would seemingly produce artificial grey clouds that would automatically drop snowflakes around the vicinity, managing to stop the heatwave shield from accomplishing its goal and rendering it totally inert.
"What!" the robber would exclaim in surprise.
And then, Kamijou would use his shoes that were now sporting figure skating parts, skating his way towards the armored robber and punching him in the face, with orange electrical sparks seen from each successive punch and kick that were employed for good measure that was fast-paced, hitting the torso, head, and other vulnerable parts, with the robber grunting in turn.
"(Whistle.) He really brings in the definition of early Christmas right about now," Mugino said, sporting an impressed and amused expression with arms crossed.
"Yeah! Go, Kamijou!," Agent Jiang Haoyi would cheer on, and with him were many other fellow agents wearing black business suits, with some fellow agents wearing lab coats, with some wearing advance retrofuturistic military black-grey combat gear, and many others who were cheering in the background.
"Hey...Niko right?" Wataru Kurozuma, sporting an impressed expression with arms crossed as he was observing Kamijou's movements, leaning towards a white marbled wall, would speak to someone with brown hair and hazel eyes, a scar running through his left brow and facial hair that resembles a "scruffy" looking 5 o'clock shadow, wearing a black business suit like many of the others, and is someone of Serbian descent. "You've known Kamijou for a while, yeah? How long has he been this good at fighting?"
Agent Niko Bellic would sport a confident smirk on his face, with his hands in his pockets. "Oh, he has been fighting for a very long time, Kurozuma. And he's still fighting today as you and everyone else can see from the television screen. And as to how he knew how to fight the way he did, well, he had a good drill sergeant and instructor wearing a batsuit, and adding in a bunch of experience that would make many war veterans cry to their mama for breakfast."
"Is that so?" Kurozuma would smirk confidently, looking back towards the television screen. "Then all that training and experience must have paid off."
"Like you wouldn't believe," Agent Bellic would say in a tone that was quite happy and sad in light of what it would mean for one Touma Kamijou.
"Huh. Your boy is doing quite well for himself out there, Touya," spoke Tabikagke Misaka, sporting a confident smirk and expression on his face, with arms crossed, sitting on a chair.
"That's what my son would tend to do best, I suppose," spoke Touya Kamijou, sporting a proud smile and expression on his face, sitting on a chair.
They and many others were watching Kamijou's battle against the armored robber that was currently happening in the city streets of Academy City from a large screen somewhere in Times Square, Manhattan, New York.
They would see Kamijou punch and kick in a fast-paced succession, with orange electrical sparks flying from both his gloves and shoes. He would make use of the Crane Style and kickboxing, lengthy, wide-ranged combos including acrobatic flying kicks which were heavily countered by the armored robber who would make use of his own martial art skill, countering it with parrying strikes of his own.
Kamijou counters to the left, blocking the flaming punch of the robber with his right hand, causing a shattering glass effect that is heard. Dodging a repulsor beam to the right while countering with his own which sends the robber flying straight and upside down for a few meters before managing to get himself together. The robber would fire muon beams in careful succession. And as the muon beams draw closer, Kamijou would dodge all of them with ease through the use of many acrobatic techniques.
He would dodge one beam to the left. Another three via jumping and repositioning his legs that were jumping to the air. Five more were dodged by moving his left leg and back to an appropriate position. And then, he would eventually make use of his shield to parry the other beams that would scorch the asphalt ground.
The robber, seeing as the strategy was now working, would begin to fly backward at Mach 10 and would begin to use the magnetism function of his suit to lift up a few vehicles that would be hurled against Kamijou.
A few seconds later, at least ten vehicles were being hurled at Kamijou, to which he would begin to make a jump for it, flying at high speeds at about Mach 5, dodging every vehicle with the grace and skill of one who seem to have been given circus level acrobatic training. And it is for that very reason that many were staring up in awe and wonder as to who this young man carrying his mighty shield was.
"...Wow."
Somewhere in Academy City, Seiri Fukiyose was sporting an expression of shock and awe, with a tinge of concern, with a handbag that was present to her right shoulder that was carrying a bunch of health products.
Before the battle that was being watched by everyone around the world had begun, Fukiyose had managed to enter a beauty salon in District 7 in order to fix her hair up a bit which was apparent from the outside as it would indirectly emphasize the size of her forehead to the point where one of her looks is called by others as the 'Forehead Deluxe'.
And while she was simply walking from the side of the road, she would bump into Motoharu Tsuchimikado and Pierce Aogami unexpectedly. Before a conversation could even commence between them, they would notice the television screen from the store showing what appeared to be a spiky-haired person fighting against an armored individual who can make use of the power of flames to devastating effect and has state-of-the-art technology that would practically be more fitting for military usage and purposes.
"("Surely, it can't be, right?,")" Fukiyose thought to herself.
But no matter how she could try to deny it with a few reasons that could be proposed, there was the living proof that was standing right in front of her due to the live news broadcast.
It was Touma Kamijou.
What was surprising to her was that she was seeing him do these more-or-less incredible things that were being enacted in his fight against the individual wearing the armor. And yet, she seems to not feel very surprised at this fact at the very least. For she always knew deep down that there was something different about Kamijou ever since she had first met him. He was quite a mature and responsible individual, seemingly average and acceptable grades notwithstanding. She recalls the fact that Komoe Tsukuyomi would talk about him in the highest of praise that a teacher could muster, claiming that he is quite the brilliant and intelligent young man underneath the deliquent-like appearance that he would tend to emulate. And Fukiyose could secretly agree with this, for out of all the so-called Delta Force, Kamijou was like the voice of reason that would step in when necessary, serving as the sane man among them. And when he does his role quite well, Fukiyose and many of her female classmates would giggle a lot due to Kamijou sometimes inadvertently pleading "neutral" that managed to deliver a precise punchline a little too well.
And then, she would recall the times when Kamijou would take an interest in health products just like her, asking her a few details about it in an honest and professional tone that seem quite out of place for someone his age, to which she more than happily oblige. What was touching to her was the fact that when she explains the various types of health products that she would take an interest in, Kamijou would take down notes from his journal, with a pencil on the ready. Whenever Fukiyose would sometimes lose interest in a few health products, Kamijou would intercept and ask if he were to borrow them instead for research purposes in regards to the subject of chemistry, Fukiyose woud oblige, although she recalled feeling very curious and shock at the fact that Kamijou would take an interest in thesubject of chemistry of all things.
If Fukiyose were to recall correctly, he had said something like this with a simple smile that was grim.
"Chemistry is an incredibly fascinating field of study in my opinion because it is so fundamental to our world and daily life. It plays a role in everyone's lives and touches almost every aspect of our existence in some way. It is essential for meeting our basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, health, energy, and clean air, water, and soil. Chemical technologies enrich our quality of life in numerous ways by providing new solutions to problems in health, materials, and energy usage. Thus, studying chemistry is useful in preparing us for the real world, in more ways than one could ever realize."
And now, she was seeing Touma Kamijou wearing a blank white eye mask with a modified rectangle mirrored lens, a black hoodie jacket, an orange Chinese dragon logo that is centered around a black t-shirt, black active performance track pants, an orange utility belt and grey gloves, black socks, and black-white Shaq Attack basketball shoes. Overall, he looked exactly like what a superhero would look like, springing to life in some shounen manga.
"Woah, I didn't think that Kami-yan's got some slick moves," Pierce Aogami said, sporting an excited smile on his face, turning towards Fukiyose. "Hey Fukiyose, what do you think about this?"
But Fukiyose couldn't answer. For she was simply too busy staring at the spiky-haired young man who was battling against the armored individual with nothing but his right hand, his trusted shield, and his state-of-the-art technology to keep him company.
And right now...
She was seeing Kamijou dodge ten random vehicles in succession, employing the use of circus-level acrobatics. And by the time he dodges the two vehicles, Fukiyose would see Kamijou shooting what appeared to be some kind of fluid that managed to freeze the armor where it stood to cold temperatures, negating the flaming heat that was emanating from it, and would perform a sort of web strike that was likened to that of a spider, kicking the armored individual to the torso, sending him falling towards the pavement.
"...Wow."
Mii Konori would softy utter, with an expression of awe and wonder. She and her old friend and fellow co-worker in Judgment, Aomi Yanagisako, were sporting more-or-less the same expressions as they and the crowd were watching the battle from a large screen that was attached to a twenty-storey building nearby.
They would see the armored robber once again try to unleash another large heatwave temperature shield, only to be firmly denied as multiple gusts of cold were fired in succession, freezing him where he stood and was punched with a good right hook by Kamijou for good measure, sending the robber a few 5 meters away, doing a back flip maneuver to stop himself from crashing and would eventually fire a barrage of repulsor rays that were being parried by Kamijou's shield.
"Ara, ara. Touma-san seems to be having so much fun over there. But still, this would have me quite concerned for his safety due to being his mother. No doubt that Touya-san is watching this just like I am," Shiina Kamijou would softly mutter, with both hands joined together, sporting a concerned and attentive expression as she was sitting on the sofa while watching the battle unfold from the television screen.
"Don't worry, Shiina-chan. I'm sure that Touma-chan would be just fine. After all, he did learned from the best," her best friend from another universe, Yukiko Kudo, a famous semi-retired actress, spoke in reassurance, sitting alongside her from the sofa, also watching the battle unfold from the television screen.
"Go, Onii-chan! Go! Go! Go!" Otohime Tatsugami would cheer on for beloved brother figure, sitting alongside Shiina and Yukiko.
They would see both Kamijou and the armored robber duking it out, dodging and parrying each other's attack in quick succession, with orange and crimson-red electrical sparks being seen to appear, creating a psychedelic aesthetic that was likened to a set of kaleidoscopically swirling color patterns. One left hook was sent toward the robber, knocking him senseless for a moment, staggering to get his position right and make himself steady.
"Listen to me, I know that you think that what this city had done to you with regards to squashing your dreams as an esper asunder is just downright unforgivable, and I would have to agree since I and many others that I know could attest as to just how bad this city really is. But this is not the answer!" Kamijou would try to reach out to the robber, walking slowly in a solemn manner.
"Shut up!" the robber would exclaim, unleashing two energy handle blades from his arms, and would make a sudden dash, with one sword attack to the neck being parried by Kamijou's shield. Adding another, and then another, Kamijou would use his shield to block the blade attacks with precise speed. Both Kamijou and the robber would also make use of their repulsors and fire the muon beams from their respective hands, creating multiple sparks. Crimson red lighting would also be unleashed which was either dodged by Kamijou or parried by the shield.
"I know what it's like to have the entire world turned against you in more ways than one," Kamijou would speak in a solemn and grim tone, still dodging and negating the attacks that were sent his way. "You have this power, and you think that it feels good. After all this time, after what amounted to so many years, finally, you would have something to call a power of your own, and you couldn't help but show it to others, to prove to them that they were wrong to look down on you."
Kamijou would dodge each repulsor strike by jumping in a spinning fashion, employing his own repulsors that managed to hit the robber, tagging the torso. A straight line of shear-thinning liquid was sticking towards the torso of the robber, sending him towards Kamijou who would use a right hook, aiming right towards the jaw of the armored robber and sending him a few meters into the air before Kamijou would dash to the same position and employed a kicking maneuver, and with the help of the shear-thinning liquids, would maintain a barrage of kicking attacks that would culminate in a final strike, sending the robber towards another part of the area, crashing towards a nearby tree and breaking the branches, and then landing towards the pavement.
And somewhere from the background, many people who were watching from afar were recording this event live from their mobile devices and cameras, sporting expressions of awe and wonder.
"...Haah!"
Somewhere in the streets of Tokyo, there was the presence of a foreigner. A young woman who was about 14 or 15 years old. Her waist-length hair was silver, and her skin was as white as snow. Her eyes were the color of emeralds. However, what made one realize that she was a foreigner the most was her outfit. She wore a Christian nun's habit that was pure white with gold-laced embroidery made of golden thread that had been sewn in. It managed to possess the characteristic look of an ostentatious nouveau riche teacup.
Index Librorum Prohibitorum.
Like everyone else who was watching from the streets through a large screen that was attached to a tall building nearby, Index would sport an awed expression from somewhere in an alleyway, with her emerald eyes reflecting the feelings that were soaring through her heart. She like so many others would see the spiky-haired young man, Touma Kamijou, battling against the armored individual with all his might.
Multiple repulsor beams would be sent in a barrage in a circular direction, only for Kamijou to deflect with his shield. He would shot a shear-thinning liquid from his right glove, managing to stick to a bench nearby and throwing it to the armored individual who only remained unharmed and raised an eyebrow before eventually getting blasted by Kamijou's repulsor rays by more than 5% levels of power, of at least 1 gigawatt per beam, striking from multiple directions.
After that, the robber's armor would glow into a luminescent red that would accentuate an emanation of heat temperatures, planning to unleash a shockwave of energy that would melt everything in its path by at least 5 meters from his position, and one that would be capable of expanding to the discretion of the user.
But...
"But if that is what you truly think, if you think that just because you finally have the power that you so desire that you could be able to do with it as you pleased with others, then you leave me no choice."
A declaration was heard. And it was one that almost seem to make the Earth stand still. For the young girl, Index Librorum Prohibitorum, is listening.
And from somewhere not too far from the battle was Mikoto Misaka who had been standing back from the sidelines, having arrived moments before through the use of her electromagnetic agility, sporting an expression of awe and intrigue. For she too was listening to the declaration that was now being made.
"I'm going to break that illusion of yours!"
The iconic sound that he was known for, no matter if it was the past, present, or future, was heard for all to hear and listen to. For the brightest of days and the blackest of nights, a ground shaking event that would occur as of this very moment had begun to catch up from the clock.
There was Touma Kamijou, making an appropriate battle posture, drawing his right foot to the back and putting his left foot forward, putting both hands in a cupped-like position which would slowly sport gather a power output that is being directed by magnets and focused by electrostatic lenses. Blue-colored circular energy was being formed from his palms, with blue electrostatic electricity being seen to emit from the palms.
And then, both shots were fired from both individuals. But Kamijou fired first, in a focus and direct fashion.
The hands were thrust forward to release a streaming, powerful beam of blue-colored energy that would hit at supersonic speeds, penetrating the armored robber's defenses and sending him flying backward to a couple of fences nearby and landing on a cement wall nearby, crashing through it.
What became the aftermath was that the advanced exoskeleton armor that the robber would use was heavily damaged, with his flesh-and-blood skin shown in some parts and with advanced circuitry scattered throughout the floor, with the luminescent red-colored neons seemingly charging to overload. And it is precisely for that very reason that Kamijou would dash at supersonic speeds, with orange lightning sparks showing from the shoes, and would begin to fire a barrage of absolute zero gusts that managed to freeze the temperatures of the overloaded suit that would grow critical, likened to that of a nuclear reactor that would decimate entire city blocks.
And at that very moment, the heat would, fortunately, cool down, with the robber's entire body being frozen in ice which made the latter grimace due to the cold.
"Ghhhh!"
And thus, the battle was over. Kamijou would slowly step towards the robber, sporting a sympathetic expression on his face, which was noticed by the robber who couldn't help but pay close attention.
"You don't need to prove anything to anyone. Not to Academy City, not to the adults, not to anyone else, and most especially not to me. You already have more power than you could ever truly realize, to the point where you wouldn't even need the Extremis virus. All you have to do is listen to this," Kamijou would point towards his left side where his heart was located. "And you would be right as rain."
The robber, despite the cold temperature that was present and engulfing more than half of his body in order to prevent a nuclear meltdown, was sporting a hesitant expression, said. "Yo-You make it sound so easy, man. I'm...I'm nothing like you..."
"Then don't," Kamijou would cut off the sentence in a clear tone. "Don't be like me. Be yourself. And don't worry about a thing."
"Don't worry about a thing...huh," the robber would smile, as if shaking his head, would lie it down from the ground, sporting an expression of contentment. "Only you seem to be capable of saying that and not making it sound so..."
"Cheesy," Kamijou smiled, finishing the sentence. "Yeah, I get that a lot."
