Chapter Six: Anger

Rin squatted down and opened the front pouch of her bag, she removed white gauze and a cleansing cloth. She carefully went to the stream to clean the wound on her upper arm. She removed the top of her kimono and roughly shoved it down to her waist.

Lord Sesshomaru was positioned behind her so he could only see her back but that did not stop blood from rushing to her cheeks. Carefully she rinsed the slash and then held the once white cloth to it in an attempt to stop the bleeding.

Rin soon realized she had left the gauze behind her on the ground by her bag. She mentally cursed to herself. If she removed the pressure on her arm to put on her kimono the blood would rush out again. Successfully undoing her entire reason for cleaning, it. Yet if she turned around to go get it, her upper chest would be exposed to her Lord.

Could she ask him? Rin slowly turned her head to the left to find Lord Sesshomaru's deep red eyes boring into her skull. She quickly turned back. He didn't look in a good mood…

Mustering up her courage, she counted to three.

1..

2..

3..

The human girl rose to her feet and turned on her heels towards her bag, refusing to meet Lord Sesshomaru's gaze as she held pressure on her arm. She dropped to her knees and grabbed the gauze before pushing all of her thoughts away and focusing on wrapping her arm up. However, it was unsuccessful. It was harder than she thought it would be to wrap her arm with one hand.

Sesshomaru growled behind her and stalked his way over, Snatching the gauze from her hand and began to wrap her wound.

"M-My Lord?!" she said in shock.

The yokai did not respond, he kept his eyes trained on her arm and for that she was grateful.

"Why did you leave?" he questioned gruffly.

When she didn't answer him, he lifted his head to look her in the eye.

Rin blushed and looked away.

"I didn't know if I could stay my Lord." she muttered.

Sesshomaru grabbed her chin and forced her to face him.

"Look at me when you're talking Rin. Why do you think this way?"

She sighed, "You never told me I could stay; it wasn't my intention to be a burden to you. So, I left."

Sesshoamru's hand tightened on her arm, "Where are you headed."

"The mountains in the East." She replied.

"Why? Did you not like the village?" he asked confused

Rin looked at him and said, "I wanted to see the mountains and the village isn't where I want to be."

"Hn." he responded. He released her arm and she suddenly realized her chest was exposed.

Rin quickly dressed her upper body before rising to her feet with her bag.

"I will take you to the mountains."

"There is no need, my Lord." She stated.

"You wish to travel through a forest full of demons who want to eat you or worse? That's foolish."

Anger built up in her at his words. Rin is an adult woman capable of making her own choices, yet he treated her like a child. She understood his reasoning, but she could defend herself. Who is he to call her foolish? Where was he during the first half of her journey? Not with her.

She rapidly turned around and walked up to him, "I'm a grown woman, I may not be a demon, but I can certainly outwit one. I am not foolish, nor am I a child. You've been unhinged since I've been in your company, my Lord, which is very unlike you. You brought me to that village and said do as I please."

Rin huffed, "I mean no disrespect but who are you to tell me what to do?"

He stared at her blankly.

"Calm yourself girl."

Her eyes widened in rage, and she clenched her fists. Before doing anything rash she turned to leave.

"Rin." she stopped, "Defend yourself"

In an instant, she was forced against a tree with his hand on her throat. Not tightly but enough so she couldn't move. Sesshomaru's eyes were red as he gazed into hers.

"What are you to do now?" He questioned.

As he spoke Rin slid the dagger down from her sleeve. As a distraction she lifted her hand up to wrap around his wrist as she placed the dagger at his hip, just under his armor but enough pressure for him to know it was there.

The demon's eyes widened before turning into slits.

"You are bold." He said slowly.

"I'm angry." she growled at him.

He dropped her neck with his hand and twisted her wrist before jumping back. However, he didn't expect her to grab tessaiga.

He stared at her as if she'd had two heads.

Rin raised the useless sword at him and walked towards him with such calmness. Rin switched hands and placed it in his sheath. Locking eyes with him the entire time.

"I learned that from you." she uttered.

"I never taught you that."

"Oh, but you did. I watched many of your battles as a silent observer, Lord Sesshomaru. Don't think of me as so ill-educated."

Without warning he grabbed her waist and flew straight up.
