"NO!"
"Minerva...?"
"No, Albus! Everyone thought you were dead. I should've expected you'd pull something like this! Harry watched you die, Albus, you froze that poor boy and made him watch as your pet Death Eater shot the Killing Curse at you! For all intents and purposes, you died, and along with you, any ties you had with this school! You've taken everyone else's hope; you are not taking my Headmistress position!"
"But Minerva, I'm not... the wards will recognize... they'll tell you-"
"Sod the wards! You had your time in the limelight! I've waited for forty years to get out of the damn deputy Headmistress spot; you are not taking this away from me too! And anyway, why couldn't it be assistant Headmistress?"
"I don't know, Minerva-"
"And after all that; after you put us through all that grief, now you want to say you're with us again and you want your Headmastership back? Well I say NO!"
"Quite emphatically, too,-"
"Don't try joking your way out of this, Albus!"
"I wouldn't dare, but I'm not-"
"OF COURSE YOU WOULD!"
"Um, am I interrupting something...?" The elderly witch and wizard turned to the doorway to see the recently seventeen year old Harry Potter standing there uncertainly.
"No, no," McGonagall assured him. "I was just straightening things out with an old friend." She glared at the bearded guest in her office. Because it was hers. Every last bit of it.
"Oh, yes, well," Harry stuttered before asserting himself. "Have you gotten what you came for, Aberforth? After all, your brother probably left you quite a lot."
"Oh, yes, Harry," Aberforth Dumbledore turned from his student to look at a gaping Minerva McGonagall, his eyes twinkling much like his twin brother's. "I got everything I expected to get, and a fair bit more, as well."
