Chapter 1
He stared at her; really stared. Stared so hard he nearly convinced himself that he was drilling holes into her. A part of him prayed he had. Let it be over before it started. Just bore holes into her and let it be done. But fate was a cruel thing. It twisted and taunted its mortal pawns in some sick game of never ending chess.
She was staring too. Eyes once filled with a fountain of emotion gazed blankly, dead, at him. She just stared through him. 'Speak damnit!' his mind raged at her. His inner self, throwing a tantrum, kicking, screaming and demanding she obey. But she didn't. So she stared on. Eyes an unearthly white, causing shivers to run up his spine at a rapid pace their oscillations threatening to freeze his body. Her eyes almost as bad as her master's eyes.
'That bastard! I'll kill him. Rip him limb from limb!' A burst of fury erupted deep within. A growl of unbridled anger spilled past his lips and his body slipped mechanically into a fighting stance.
'NO I CAN'T DO THIS!' A distant voice cried out from the darkness inside his mind. 'DON'T MAKE ME…I CAN'T! PLEASE!'
But it had to be done and ruthlessly he quelled the inner voice of uncertainty. Her body so frail looking rippled with confidence as it slipped into the same stance as he. He watched as a hollow sinister looking smile creasing over her features. A smile like that didn't belong on her.
And he knew… just like that.
This
had to be done.

This has been on my mind for ages and I am posting a teaser to see what the reactions are. I have one short story I want to complete to my satisfaction first but I'd love to continue this one at some stage.
