Weathertop
Once the next day came, everyone woke up and continued on their hike to Rivendell and Richard hadn't told anyone, not even Marion about his dream, feeling it would be best to tell it to Elrond and Gandalf when they arrived at Rivendell.
They hiked nonstop for the whole day until it was approaching dusk and Aragorn saw the location known currently as Weathertop. It was in ruins, a shell of its former self.
"This was the great watchtower of Amon Sul. We shall rest here tonight." Aragorn informed everyone.
As the sun was about to set, everyone set up camp while Aragorn watched the horizon for anything, the wind being the only thing that could be heard.
He then unveiled four daggers that the Hobbits can use as swords.
"These are for you." He told them as he tossed one to Sam and then Merry as Pippin and Frodo grabbed theirs.
"Keep them close. We're going to have a look around." He then said as he and Marion were about to go and scout.
"Stay here." He then told them and walked off.
"Be careful." Richard told Marion, not wanting anything bad to happen.
"Hey, I've been trained by him and the Elves of Rivendell, I'll be fine." She assured him before following Aragorn.
Both Frodo and Richard decided to take a nap, being tired and all but they both woke up to the sound of chattering and fire crackling. RIchard's eyes widened in horror as he remembered how the Nazgul knew they were at Weathertop. Both he and Frodo got up and looked to see Sam, Merry and Pippin cooking foods appropriate for breakfast.
"What are you doing?!" Frodo questioned them.
"Tomatoes, sausages, nice crispy bacon." Merry casually replied as Frodo and Richard got up and ran up to them.
"We saved some for you two." Sam informed them.
"Put it out, you idiots!" Richard snapped at them as he and Frodo kicked the fire out with their feet.
"That's nice! Ash on my tomatoes!" Pippin complained right before the cry of the Nazgul pierced the dark night. All five looked down to see five of the Nazgul approaching.
"Go!" Frodo told everyone as they all pulled their swords out and ran all the way up to the tallest point of Weathertop.
Once there, they all stood in the middle, looking everywhere, keeping their eyes open.
But then Frodo and Richard saw one of the Nazgul walk out of the darkness and pull their sword out, placing it right in front of its blank, hooded faceless front.
Richard gripped his sword tighter than ever as it and the other four approached him and the Hobbits and pointed their swords at them. Richard felt fear in the fact that this is a fight for his life and he could be at risk of being stabbed and becoming of the wraiths.
"Back, you devils!" Sam roared at them before swinging his sword, only to be blocked with ease and thrown to the side.
Both Merry and Pippin stood up but they too got thrown to the sides, leaving just Richard and Frodo.
Frodo just dropped his sword and fell back, Richard stepping back to give him some space.
That familiar darkness was present again with Sauron's Black Speech as Frodo pulled the Ring out of his vest pocket.
One of the Nazgul, the one who would be called the Witch King stepped forward with a Morgul dagger, intending to use it on the Hobbit.
"STAY BACK!" Richard bellowed out as he and Frodo stepped back themselves.
"STAY BACK!" He bellowed out again and as the future Witch King was about to stab either Frodo or Richard, Frodo put the Ring on and disappeared from normal sight.
For the two of them, the Nazgul now looked like pale, glowing, skeletal and ghostly shells of their former selves, the Nine Kings of Men.
The future Witch King put his hand out and as though it was alive, the Ring pulled Frodo's hand towards the Nazgul's, Sauron's voice being heard.
Frodo was able to resist and pull his hand back. But this made the Nazgul stab Frodo in the shoulder. As he screamed in agony, the sight made Richard's blood boil and his fear now turned to anger. His sword's runes then started glowing blue and he roared as Aragorn's roar was heard. Richard then did something he never thought he'd do. He had performed magic as when he swung Steelfang, a wave of energy shot out and hit the other Nazgul and the one that stabbed Frodo pulled his dagger out.
Both Aragorn and Marion appeared and not only did they have their swords out, but also burning torches and they swung them at the Ringwraiths, Richard swinging his sword, his anger giving him the drive to fight back. Eventually, the world around him turned to normal, meaning Frodo pulled the ring off as he screamed.
Richard was solely focused on fighting the Nazgul and he found himself able to hold his own as Aragorn and Marion used their torches to push the Nazgul back and Richard's sword forming waves of energy doing the same for Sam to go to Frodo and watch him.
Marion's sword then started to generate lightning that sparked through the whole blade and as Aragorn lit one of the Nazgul on fire, Marion struck another with a lightning bolt, catching it on fire and Richard then used a new wave, this time, made of fire and it caught onto two others.
The three then faced off against one of the ones on fire and fought on the offensive until they all ran off.
The other Hobbits watched as the last Nazgul was about to approach them when Richard turned, growling at it and shooting out a ball of fire from his sword, hitting the Nazgul right into its hollowed face, making it run off, shrieking into the night.
Marion's sword, Stormbolt, stopped generating electricity and Richard's, Steelfang, had its runes stop glowing. Richard was absolutely in awe that his sword can do such a thing but he'll have to figure it out later.
"Strider! Marion!" Sam called out and the three knelt down to see Frodo being affected by the dagger.
"Help him, please." Sam begged as Richard grabbed the dagger and showed it to Aragorn.
"He was stabbed with this." He said.
"A Morgul blade." Aragorn hissed as the blade turned into dust, making Richard throw it away in anger.
"This is beyond either of ours in healing. He needs Elvish medicine now." Marion said with maternal concern, holding Frodo in her arms and she, Aragorn and Richard walked off with the Hobbits following them, knowing that they needed to get to Rivendell fast.
Once they gathered their things, everyone went into the nearest forest and went as quickly as they could, hearing the cries of the Ringwraiths nearby.
"Hurry!" Aragorn urged the Hobbits as he led the group in front.
"We're 6 days from Rivendell. He'll never make it!" Sam said.
"Gandalf…" Frodo whispered as he was being carried in Marion's arms still.
"Hang on, Frodo. Just hang in there." She gently whispered to the Hobbit.
"Gandalf!" Frodo called out, making Richard more tense than ever.
A shorter chapter than the rest, but I couldn't really find a way to fill this chapter with what happens after naturally. And yeah, both Richard's and Marion's swords have magical properties... I'll reveal more later in the story. And the next chapter will include a character from the book that I'm sure some of you will know considering his role in this part of the story.
