Darkwing loved seeing Adeline every morning, afternoon, and night. They loved seeing each other, and hated to leave. They had started pronouncing their R's, and they did it together. Soon, Drake-El had caught Darkwing and Adeline in the act at the park. They looked at him, Darkwing clutching Adeline's hand.
"Daddy, can me and Adeline please stay together?" Darkwing asked.
"No," Drake-El growled.
Donald walked up.
"Daddy, I don't wanna leave Darkwing," Adeline whined.
"No," Donald snapped.
Adeline had started to crawl closer to Darkwing. Donald snatched her up. Adeline whined and pointed to Darkwing.
"Don't take her away from me!" Darkwing yelled.
"I'm taking you away from her," Drake-El explained as he snatched Darkwing up and dragged him away.
Darkwing and Adeline cried all the way back to their houses.
Darkwing ran in the front door of his house and tried to lock the door. Ruby walked up to him.
"What in the world do you think your doing?"
"Trying to lock Daddy out. He's trying to keep me away from Adeline."
"Well, her parents are somebodies."
"What does that have to do with Daddy wanting me to stay away from her?"
"We're nobodies."
"It's not illegal for a nobody to love a somebody. Is it?"
"Well...No. We just don't like her. She's probably spoiled rotten."
"She ain't! She's the most sweetest girl I've ever met! Of course, she's the only girl I've ever met, but that don't make no difference."
"See? She's rubbing off on you!"
"No she ain't!"
"What on Earth are you guys talking about?" Drake-El asked.
"Ugh!" Darkwing screamed as he ran upstairs.
Over at the McQuack house, Donald brought in a screaming Adeline.
"What's wrong with my sweet little angel?" Lucy asked.
"I can't love who I want, that's what!" Adeline screeched as she stomped up the stairs.
Lucy looked as Adeline went out of sight. She went to the kitchen.
"Donald, come on, sit down. Let's drink a little wine while we discuss this," Lucy said as she poured red wine into two glasses.
"We were at the park today. She was hanging out with that low class Darkwing boy. She wants to love him, but would I ever let that happen? No, never," Donald explained, sipping wine.
"Why is it, when we go to the park, the Darkwing boy's always over there, too?"
"Bad luck."
"When did we ever have bad luck?"
"When Darkwing and Adeline came into the world side-by-side."
"Yeah, guess so."
Lucy had been looking down at her wine. She looked up, and she could clearly see Donald was drunk.
"I'm gonna go start a feud with Drake-El."
Donald locked all the windows in the house shut. Adeline whined at him.
"No! Please don't hurt Darkwing! Please!"
Donald went back down to the kitchen, grabbed his gun, and went over to Drake-El's house. He knocked on the door.
"You got five minutes."
Drake-El locked all the windows in the house. He got his gun, and walked out of the house. Darkwing looked at Ruby.
"Is he gonna hurt Adeline?"
"No, sweetie."
Drake-El cocked his rifle and pointed it at Donald. Donald did the same.
"Whoever gets shot first moves away from this neighborhood and never moves back," Donald explained.
"Okay, we'll - Wait a second! This isn't right!" Drake- El exclaimed.
"Whaddaya mean?" Donald asked.
"Look. We're feuding only because we want to choose our kids' soulmates. We shouldn't choose their mates, they should. We should just let them be, ya know?"
"Yeah, I guess."
"Let's let them be a happy couple, okay?"
"Okay."
They both shot a bullet into the woods, shook hands, and went back to their houses.
"Hey! Darkwing, go outside," Drake-El exclaimed.
"For what?" Darkwing asked.
"Just go," Drake-El said.
"Adeline!" Donald exclaimed.
"What is it?" Adeline asked.
"Daddy has a present for you."
"I don't want it."
"You'll love it."
Darkwing and Adeline ran outside. They saw each other. Darkwing looked at Drake-El. He nodded. Adeline looked at Donald. He nodded.
Darkwing and Adeline had a sleepover that night, and it was the first time they slept in a bed together.
