Bridget showed marlin around the farm and helped him settle in.
"Great, more boxes" She said laughing. Marlin grinned and gave a little chuckle. Vesta helped us move his bed in. Celia put little containers into a cupboard above the sink.
"What are those for Celia?" Bridget asked.
"They are Marlin's medicine. The instructions are on bottle" She explained. She walked over to Marlin and gave him a hug.
"I have to go now Marlin. Please keep in touch!" she said squeezing even harder.
"Trust me we will. It will be hard not to!" Marlin replied.
Vesta and Celia left with tears. It wasn't like they weren't going to see them anymore. I Knew them for one day and already one of there deepest friends were staying with me. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea. But he seemed to need my help. Plus, I wanted a good reputation in town.
Marlin and I took the money Vesta gave us and ordered our first cow. She was there in the afternoon. We decided to name her Bessie. She was a marble cow with a lovely pattern of shapes. Marlin got attached quickly seeing that it was his first pet. He had never really been around animals except the little dog at the dig site. He would milk her and brush her. Bessie seemed very happy with him as well. Of course Bridget too, but she seemed to take more interest in Marlin. Bessie new Marlin was different and needed her attention.
It was getting late and Marlin and Bridget were at the bar with Rock, Muffy and Celia. Vesta couldn't make it she was very busy at her farm. Marlin introduced me to Muffy. Rock and Muffy had been going out for a while now. But Rock seemed to pay more attention to Bridget.
"So you're taking care of Marlin now are you?" He said sarcastically. Marlin gave rock a "Shut up" smile and turned his focus on Bridget.
"Bridget, I'm going to head home now. It's getting late for me." With that, Marlin drank the last of his beer and left. Bridget offered to go home with him but Rock insisted she stayed.
"Well, can I get you anything else to drink you guys?" Muffy asked with a sweet little smile.
"No thanks Muffy, I'm good" Bridget said handing Muffy her cup. Rock had another beer and so did Celia. Celia yawned and turned to us.
"Wow, it really is getting late you guys. I also am going to go home. Thanks for a great night. It's good to get out like this every once in a while." We waved good bye and she left. Rock, Muffy and I talked a bit more and then finally left. Rock offered to walk Bridget home. She could see Muffy get a little jealous in the corner of my eye. But I loved the attention so I let him. But when they got to the farm, they were both surprised
