Hi guys! So...this is my second chapter of this.
StartOf Chapter
It had taken ages for Katniss not to actually hate the victors. Sure, she didn't trust them, but at least she didn't hate them, right? It was a good thing, actually. They had spent two weeks at the capitol, trying to solve the problem of Katniss not trusting them. In the end, they had failed to get any sort of reaction from Katniss, so automatically, the victors turned to Haymitch.
"What?" He asked.
"Well, what do we do? Why doesn't she trust us?" Johanna uttered.
Haymitch snorted, "She doesn't truly trust anyone, I suppose I should've told you that, but at least she doesn't hate you! That's a good thing."
Most of the victors rolled their eyes at him, frustrated they had failed.
"Oh well, we have to get going back to district 12, so just don't do anything, ok?"
The nodded their ok, turning on their heels and stomping down to the trains, taking them back to their districts.
Weeks Later
Apparently, the girl did actually have charm. During the victory tour, which had been moved forwards by weeks, she had showed a talent, and taken everyone away with exactly how good she was with words. During all her speeches, which she improvised entirely, she displayed a rare set of emotions, mostly all hand fashioned herself, mixed clearly together, but hard to read.
Most of her speeches were different, varying on exactly what she had experienced with this tribute. It was easy to say, however, that she was one of the best public speakers ever. She had absolutely no trouble around the cameras, and even if she did, she barely showed it.
The announcement
All the victors were together again, gathered in the capitol to watch the twist for the 75th hunger games or the 3rd quarter quell.
The victors were all huddled together, chatting grimly about what was to come. Katniss however, sat in the far corner, away from everyone and everything. Suddenly, the capitol anthem played, halting everyone's conversations as they turned to the screen, expressions pained. In their minds, except of course, Katniss, they thought, What could it be this time?
"This time, the twist for the 75th annual hunger games, or the third quarter quell will be victors going back into the arena which will simulate district 12. There, they must survive one year." A dark chuckle came from the corner, and the victors turned to face the source. Katniss.
She either didn't notice they were staring at her or she didn't care. Probably the latter. She was hysterical and didn't look like stopping any time soon. She was on the floor now, laughing so hard she scrunched her face up, "12!?" She bawled in laughter again, "They're trying to kill you off!" Johanna, not understanding this, wore a confused expression, although attempting to hide it, but Katniss saw it, "12 is a hunger zone. Starvation everywhere. And with the amount you lot east, you'll be dead in a day." She burst out in laughter again, "Hell, you don't even know what this'll be like! Oh! You'll have to go to the hob. Oh well."
However, while she was talking, she didn't notice the less than thrilled looks the victors shared with each other, most definitely not looking forwards to the hunger games.
The hunger games
Each victor stepped onto their miniature platform, ready for it to rise so the arena would simulate district 12. How? No idea.
All the platforms rose at once, revealing water and a cornucopia stocked full of food and a few weapons. Obviously, everyone headed there first, everyone but Katniss, who saw trees around her in every direction.
Once the countdown had finished, the victors rushed towards the cornucopia, but Katniss rushed towards the wood instead. Inspecting it, she then rushed back towards the cornucopia, grabbing a few axes, a wagon and a few knives.
Hurrying, she chopped down the wood efficiently, faster than even Johanna would've been able to do it. By the time she had enough wood, she had cut down so many trees that a fraction of the arena was bare. Every piece of wood was in the wagon, and she dragged it across the path at the back of it, which no one but her could see. Hurrying back to the cornucopia, she saw a sharp thing pointing out of it, so she took it and started carving the wood.
End of Chapter
Hello! I have a bit of information I want to tell you. So one, I'm still in school, so I'm kinda trying to do this quickly, so the quality might start going down from here...When it comes to the holidays though, my writing might get a bit better. Oh, and two, I don't think I'll do five chapters, probably less than that. Oh, and I posted a note on one of my stories, saying I'll start posting more often, and as you can see, I think I posted...a lot. I finished my stories kinda quickly. But other than that, I'll probably start going back to normal, and maybe post once a week again.
