Hey, welcome to a sort of short story idea between the Owl House and the MCU/ Sony. Enjoy! Also hope you catch a few marvel references.
Summary: A lot can happen during a few months or in a pocket dimension years.
The bus stopped in front of her house as Luz hopped off the bus her eyes tired of listening to the same radio station 24 hours straight as camp was fun for a bit until her secret stash of Azura books was found and confiscated by the camp counselors as they wanted her to have a "Fresh mind."
Luz had written letters to her mother but never got a response from her and even went as far as using the camp phone but it would always go to voicemail and now all she wanted to do was watch all the anime she had missed as she walked inside.
"Mom I'm home!" Luz said but there was no response as she saw that their voicemail was full as they were all from camp as Luz erased all of them and looked around saw that her mother was nowhere to be found so Luz simply made herself a bowl of ice cream before sitting down and watching Anime.
Soon after a few hours Luz then heard something crash through as she heard noises coming from her mother's room as she opened slowly to hear a conversation. "That is the last time you put me in a fighting ring in China before asking me and... what am I supposed to do with Yaun?"
Luz then opened the door as a bright light flashed a bit as she saw her mother Camila standing in the room with a few bruises and a black eye as she was wearing crimson red robes. "Mom?" Camila then jumped dropping a duffle bag before looking at Luz.
"Mija, your back already?" "It's been 3 months." "THREE?!" Luz then starred at her with confusion. "Mom you alright also what are you wearing?" "Well, it's part of... a mental spirit retreat."
She said rapidly as she placed a two-fingered ring in her pocket. "Now how about you go to bed." "It's still the afternoon." "Darn time zones." "Time Zones?"
Camila then simply laid and bed and rested as Luz then looked in the duffle bag to see stacks of foreign money. "Mom what did you get yourself into?" Luz then thought about waking her up but her mother was already snoring as Luz went back to watching more Anime when the front door was blown off causing Luz to run to her mother's room as she was still asleep as Luz then shook her. "Wake up wake up!" She shouted as she shook her mother as she was grabbed by her cat hoodie and lifted off the ground by a strange man simply wearing a plain shirt, and tie with an ID badge with the name Jackson Norriss.
"Let me go!" "Relax I'm not here for you just your mother." "Wait aren't you that documentary guy?" "And your asking questions." He then tossed Luz on the bed next to Camila before pulling a silent pistol as Luz was now in fear. "What did we even do to you?!" "You, nothing but her she's a threat you don't even know about."
He then put his finger on the trigger as out of nowhere an entire bookshelf fell on top of him as the gun went off as Luz closed her eyes but the impact was blocked by a golden circle with symbols as Camila had woken up and was projecting the circle out of thin air. "Mom!?" Camila then closed a large circle that was on the ceiling as she hugged her child.
"Oh, thank... the universe your alright!" "You just..." Camila then walked to Jackson and checked his pulse. "He'll live." She said before kicking the gun out of his hand. "Mom what was all that?!" Camila then sighed as she then put the ring on. "Let me show you what I've been studying for three years." "YEARS?!" "It's hard to explain it but you wanted to see magic right? here's your chance."
She then moved her hand as a large orange circle as it then opened to a wintery mountain. "Still getting the hang of this thing," Camila said before trying again as it then showed an old wooden building. "Go on it's safe unless you jump while it closes then you risk losing your head." Luz swallowed a lump before nervously stepping through as she touched the wooden floor a Camila followed before closing the portal.
"Uh mom what and where is this place?" "Hong Kong." "WHAT!?" "Calm down you'll get used to it the food here is great, Luz welcome..." Camila then lit a candle causing the whole area to lit up to show a large room with a large window with a strange design. "To the sanctum."
"Ok, you expect me to believe all of this you sent me to a reality check camp for crying out loud!" "I know and I'm sorry for that but now you can..." "Nope nope this is too much for me and what is this some prank?"
Camila then breathed in. "It's not magic is real I didn't believe it at first but now I do and you should too." "With CGI and actors yeah just show me one example of proof and I'll believe you." "Mija are you sure about that?"
Camila said with concern as Luz responded "Yes just show me one thing and I'll..." Luz didn't finish as Camila simply placed her hand on Luz's chest as the young teen then felt lighter and odd as she saw herself on the floor as she looked at her hands which were glowing white.
"What is this? Am I dead!?" Luz asked as Camila then walked to her daughter. "No Luz your not dead this is just your astral projection." "My what?" Camila then sighed and facepalmed. "This is going to take a century to explain.
