A/N: Once again I would like to thank everyone for the reviews. This chapter is important as far as the Twins go at least in my opinion.
Aries zoomed by as he swam through the open ocean turning around to see his sister right on his fin. Ever since they were little, Ariel always enjoyed competing with her brother, and Aries also enjoyed the competition. When they were little the games, they would compete in were more even but now that they were older, there were clear advantages they held over one another. Ariel had the most beautiful singing voice under the sea, that had been discussed by many sea dwellers. While all Triton's children could sing Ariel's voice rivaled that of Queen Athena's and in Aries's mind, she was the better of the two.
When the queen first passed, Aries had trouble sleeping, but it was Ariel who sung to him and helped her brother move past missing the sound of their Mother's voice. Aries thought about his mother a lot lately. The bracelet he had taken off and given to his father, it made his arm feel naked. Why would his mother leave that to him? Why did she not tell him about? It only brought him more questions.
Athena had arrived in Atlantica as a young girl, almost a teenager according to his father with only her grandmother to accompany her. Triton himself had called Athena a mischievous mermaid like Ariel and Aries but more troublesome than the two. He also mentioned how the young mermaid would spend her time in some place called Neverland, but he would never mention more than that. As Aries thought to himself, his sister passed him in their race.
"Passed you slow poke." Ariel taunts. Aries looks toward her, Ariel was a better singer, and she was more agile to name a few advantages, but Aries knew he was faster. Puberty as his father had called it, made his fin, and tail stronger than his sister which allowed for more speed as he rushed forward to catch her.
"On your left." Aries says as he catches up to Ariel and then passes the little mermaid. The twins eventually reach Atlantica, and Aries and Ariel come into their older sister's mirror room and disturb the six older mermaids.
"Ariel, stop it, Eee!" Aries sees his older sisters annoyed with how quickly he and Ariel had entered the room. He decides to put the brakes on and come to a stop as to not annoy them further.
"It's a beautiful day. Who wants to go swim? Ariel asks her sisters.
"Hah! no, thank you, Ariel." Arista answers
"You and Aries both swim too fast." Aquata adds.
"Keeping up with you ruins my hairdo." Arista answers again.
"So that's what did it." Ariel says mostly to herself.
"Good morning my beautiful sisters, anything interesting happening round these parts." Aries pops in.
"Aries, now that you mention it, I need advice on how boys think." Adella looks to her brother, but he cuts her off.
"Adella, I already told you, I think like a guy, Stevie thinks like, well not a normal guy." Aries says. He then turns toward Ariel.
"Well since none of our sisters are going to join us, how about double or nothing Ariel?" Aries taunts his sister he accepts his challenge. Ariel takes off again and Aries chases right after her. Aries and Ariel race each other at great speed when Ariel sees Flounder and grabs the young fish by his tail. As they continue Ariel then sees Sebastian.
"Ooh, Ariel, it's time for - Ariel!" Sebastian calls out as Ariel picks him up.
"Welcome aboard." Ariel tells Sebastian as the crab responds to her.
"I didn't come along for the ride!" Sebastian says. Aries however swims passed his sister and turns on his back to mock Ariel.
"On your left." Aries says as he and Ariel continue their race as Sebastian falls from Ariel's tail and lands in a stable which startles him and something else.
"What was that?" Aries asks as he and Ariel look down. Down in a stable the twins see a purple giant seahorse and in a second stable across from the purple seahorse is a silver Seahorse that seems more content than the purple one.
"Never seen a giant seahorse that color before." Aries is stunned by the silver coloring.
"It's a giant sea horse. Easy, boy, easy. I won't hurt you, poor thing. You need to be free. It's terrible to keep a wild creature tied up like this." Ariel says moving closer to the purple seahorse. Aries however is drawn toward the silver seahorse. Aries sticks his hand out forward trying to appear less like a threat and the seahorse raises her head looking at Aries with the same curiosity.
"Keep your distance, princess. Stormy is too wild to tame and too ornery to love. Comet over there isn't much better. She's not as wild when she's left to herself, but she won't let any rider get near her." The Seahorse keeper says as he warns the twins. While Aries takes heed of what the man said, Ariel is in her own world.
"Someday, I'm going to ride that wild sea horse." Ariel says.
"Um, what? Didn't you hear the keeper. You'll get hurt." Aries tells Ariel as he keeps his eye on the silver seahorse named Comet.
"I won't, Aries. Oh, it's going to be wonderful, guys . All we have to do is convince daddy to let me ride him." Ariel ignores her brother's warning.
"We?" Sebastian asks not wanting any part of this.
"And how are we supposed to that?" Aries asks.
"You'll see when we get back home." Ariel tells him. Sebastian speaks up again. The twins, Flounder and Sebastian then return home where Sebastian tries to get out of whatever Ariel's plan is.
"Don't expect me to help. I keep my business in my own nose."
"But daddy always listens to you." Ariel tries to convince the crab.
"Well, that's true. I do have a way of be- Ariel, stop sea horsing around. You know what your father is going to say." Sebastian counters.
"About what?" The Sea King says as he arrives on the scene.
"Father, may Flounder and Sebastian stay for dinner?" Ariel asks setting her plan into motion.
"Certainly. I always enjoy hearing Sebastian's opinion on Things." The Sea King asks.
Later at dinner, Aries He takes his seat next to Ariel and grabs a plate.
"Please pass the seaweed pasta. Hmm. thank you." Sebastian says as he loads up his plate. Ariel than begins her pitch.
"I think every girl should learn to ride a giant sea horse, don't you, Sebastian?" Ariel starts.
"Of course, Ariel. I mean, as long as she never goes near it." Sebastian adds.
"And assuming she has the proper discipline, considering how dangerous it can be." Aries adds. Ariel gives him a look that says you're not helping before turning back to her father who begins to speak.
"Why Ariel, you're certainly welcome to come riding with me. We have A nice, tame, old mare that would suit you just fine. Same goes for you Aries if you want to start riding, we can find a seahorse for you as well." Triton says.
"Thanks Dad, a nice tame seahorse would be great for a beginner." Aries says looking at his sister. Ariel still continues on wanting to get her way.
"An old mare? Oh, you're so funny, daddy. Actually, I was hoping to ride Stormy." Ariel finally reveals her plan.
"This isn't going to end well." Aries thinks to himself.
"Stormy? Ha ha ha. Why that wild sea horse would throw you in an instant. Isn't that right, Sebastian?" Triton thinks Ariel is joking. Sebastian tries to eat more seaweed pasta.
"Half an instant." Sebastain says.
"No, he wouldn't, father. he likes me. Right, Sebastian?" Ariel adds. Aries looks to Sebastain hoping the crab would side with Triton like he usually does but Sebastian is enjoying his pasta too much.
"He really likes her a lot." Sebastain adds.
"I see, he likes you. Like the giant squid you brought home to dinner and the baby killer whale you hid in your room. Oh, when will you learn? Some creatures are dangerous, and this stormy is one of the most dangerous." Trion raises his voice getting angry.
"Oh, I don't know. He let me swim right up and pet him. Just like Comet did with Aries." Aries turns his head toward Ariel.
"Wait a second, don't bring me into this one sis. This is between you and Dad."
"You petted Stormy? Ariel, I forbid you to go near that giant sea horse!"
"So, Aries gets to pet Comet, but it's wrong for me to go near Stormy?" Ariel tries to defend herself.
"I'm not trying to ride Comet; I just saw her and was interested in her. The Seahorse keeper already said Comet is tame until someone tries to ride her, which I was not trying to do. I'm not good enough to ride a Seahorse like her on my first go around anyway." Aries defends himself. Ariel however is the opposite of her brother. She knows she will be able to ride Stormy just fine.
"Very well then. Ariel, you stay away from Stormy, and Aries since you don't want to ride her it should be simple for you to stay away from Comet in that case." Triton says as his decision is made. Ariel's eyes begin to water as she swims off from dinner.
"Ariel wait." Aries says as he swims off after his sister. If Aries had one weakness, it was he couldn't stand to see Ariel cry. Once when they were little, Ariel started crying and Aries went to such great lengths that he ended up breaking his wrist. It was then Ariel who ended up taking care of her brother instead.
"Well, that is most certainly that." Sebastian says.
"That is never that with her." Triton says as he sits back down.
"May we be excused too, father. We have to wash our hair." Arista says. Triton gives his daughters permission, and they swim off.
"She's in hot water now. Silly girl. Poor Aries too, he always follows after Ariel, no matter what she does to him." The Mermaids discuss as they swim off.
In the twin's room Aries and Flounder are trying to comfort Ariel who is upset over Stormy.
"Come on Ariel, there's still lots of fun things we can do without a giant sea horse." Flounder tires to cheer her up.
"Daddy does whatever he wants but won't let me do what I want. Why is he so mean?" Ariel pouts.
"I have to agree with Dad on this one Ariel. Stormy is wild and you haven't ridden a giant seahorse before. You could get hurt with Stormy." Aries says.
"Why are you taking his side? You were always on my side before. Don't you want to ride Comet." Ariel fires back at her brother. Aries can see his words hurt Ariel, but he was more concerned about her safety.
"I'd love to ride Comet someday, but not today, because we're not ready. Dad is Dad Ariel, we aren't going to agree with everything he decides for us, and sometimes he's going to be wrong, but he always means well."
While Aries talks with his sister, Sebastian and Triton are still at the dinner table.
"Ahem. Oh, I know what she's thinking. She thinks I'm mean. " Triton says.
"Your majesty mean? Ridiculous!" Sebastian tries to convince Triton he is doing a fine job. The Sea King then orders Sebastian to go to Ariel and make her understand his point.
"Why am I always the one who has to make her understand. This job's weighing heavy on me. Ariel. Sebastian calls out as he sees Ariel.
"Sebastian, I'm glad you're here." Ariel says as she sees him.
"No. I'm glad you're here. I came to talk horse sense into you. Now you must Stay away from that wild." Sebastian is unable to finish.
"Tonight, I'm going to see Stormy, and you're going to be my lookout." Ariel tells the Crab.
"Wait a minute." Sebastian then hears Triton.
"Sebastian!" The King calls.
"See you tonight at the sea horse corral. I'm counting on you, Sebastian." Ariel swims off.
"Ah, Sebastian." Triton appears.
"Your majesty." The crab answers.
"I've been looking for you. I want you to guard that sea horse stallion."
"Yes." The Crab responds back.
"All night if necessary. Make sure no one goes near it." The Sea King booms.
"No one." Sebastian repeats
"Especially not two beautiful red-haired twins who has a tendency to disobey their father." Trion adds letting Sebastian know who he was looking out for.
"Yes, your majesty." Sebastian says.
"I'm counting on you, Sebastian." Triton says as he swims away. Sebastian turns around again and now it is Aries who has appeared next to him.
"Bas, I need your help. I think Ariel is going to sneak out to try and see Stormy tonight and we need to stop her while also avoiding my dad." Aries says. Sebastian tries to open his mouth, but Aries continues.
"I'll sneak out tonight and meet you at the sea horse corral, we'll get Ariel, bring her back home and be back before dad even notices we were gone. Brilliant plan Bas, this will work for sure."
"Aries wait a moment." Sebastian tries to talk but Aries ignores him.
"I'm counting on you Bas. See you later." Aries says as he swims off.
"Everybody is counting on me. I'm up the river without a paddle in the middle of the ocean." Sebastain says.
Later that night as Sebastian makes his way to the Sea horse corral, he realizes the position he is in.
"After this, I'm never opening my mouth again, except when I'm eating. He has me looking out for her, she has me looking out for him and Aries wants me to look out for both. But who's going to be looking out for me?" He then bumps into some clams.
"Hey, we're sleeping here!" The clams says as Sebastian jumps back.
"Quiet. someone will hear you. Shh. it's o.k. it's o.k. There's nothing to be afraid of." Ariel says as she comforts Stormy.
"She'd say that if the ocean was full of sharks." Sebastian says. Aries the appears behind Sebastain.
"Ok you've seen Stormy, it's time to go Ariel." Aries says worried about his father catching to two of them here.
"Why aren't you on my side about this Aries. You're my twin, you're supposed to side with me." Ariel says to her brother.
"Ariel I always side with you, but Stormy has a look in his eyes, he needs an experienced rider if he is going to be ridden. Please can we go back home before something bad happens?" Aries tries to make her see his side.
"Don't worry, Stormy. Someday you and I will ride wild through the sea together." Ariel says as she ignores Aries.
He never hears me
Although he has ears, he
Refuses to understand
He merely sees me
He doesn't believe he
Can let me be who I am
What am I to do?
There's so much of me in you
He may tie the ropes
But he can't hold our hopes
That someday
We'll break away
And we'll ride, you and me
To the edge of the edge of the sea
To be free from his undertow
But how I don't know
"Ariel, we better go. We don't want anyone to find you here - I mean, Ariel! What are you doing here? Go home immediately! Your father will be - well, see for yourself." Sebastian tried to warn Ariel but just as Aries had feared the Sea King was there.
"You disobeyed me, Ariel. That sea horse is dangerous. And Aries you're here as well? Agreeing with your sister as usual? Don't you two listen to a word I say?"
"Yes daddy, but you're wrong about Stormy. I can ride him. I know I can" Ariel pleads.
"Dad, I didn't come here to see Comet, I came to bring Ariel home." Aries says as Ariel looks at him with a hurt look.
"You both leave me no choice. For your own good I'm selling Stormy and Comet to a sea horse trader.
"You can't do that." Ariel begs.
"I'm your father. I'll do what I think is best." Triton says.
"Wait what did Comet do, I told you dad I wasn't here to see Comet." Aries now pleads his case.
"My decision is final Aries, this way I don't have to worry about why you may or may not have come here." Triton tells his son.
"You don't care what's best for me. You want to tie me down, just like Stormy." Ariel cries.
"That's not true, Ariel. Dad's just doing it for to protect you. Aries says to his sister and that is Ariel's breaking point.
"How could you, Aries? You're taking his side? I thought you would always have my back. But now, you're just like our father. Ariel swims away crying as Aries looks on heartbroken. He and Ariel had fights before but never like this, this felt different. Triton was also disgusted at himself. He wanted to protect his children and thought he was doing the right thing, but he didn't want to come between the bond Ariel and Aries had. The twins had a bond he would have said was stronger than even the Trident, and he hoped he didn't just ruin it.
Ariel did not speak to Aries the entire next day and as a result the young merman was beside himself. Knowing he couldn't talk to his dad about this Aries went to the next best person.
"Attina, I need your help." Aries says finding his oldest sister.
"Do you need help with girls' little brother or our baby sister?" Attina asks already knowing what was going on as she closes a book she was reading.
"It's not always about girls or Ariel when I come see you, Tina." Aries defends himself using his pet name from when he couldn't say Attina's name fully.
"The last time you asked for my help was when you were trying to impress that princess, her name was Lena if I remember correctly." Attina says.
"Ok, you win, but do you think I did the right thing as far as Ariel is concerned?" He asks Attina.
"Aries, siblings sometimes fight as they have their own opinions and you and Ariel have strong personalities." Attina starts to tell him.
"Like Arista and Aquata fight?" He says.
"To a degree yes, Ariel's feelings are hurt because usually the two of you are thick as thieves but this timeā¦" she waits for him to finish.
"I realized the danger of riding Stormy and agreed with Dad."
"Exactly, you and Ariel have always been on the same side rather you two were right or wrong, so this is something different to the both of you. But what I do know is no matter how mad you two may be at each other you always make up with one another." Aries thinks about what Attina says as she finishes her opinion.
"You also spoil our baby sister a lot Aries, so part of this is also on you."
"What do you mean?" Aries asked in confusion.
"You always let Ariel get her way. I'm not saying you don't do things that you enjoy but you have always let her have first choice, think of all your adventures and all your birthdays for example and now she's responding this way because this isn't normal Aries behavior in her mind." Attina finishes as Aries ponders what his oldest sister had told him.
"Ok, I think I get what you are saying. I should go tell Ariel how I feel about Stormy and why I think he's too dangerous for her to ride him."
"You've always been smart for your age little brother. You're also a great middle ground between Ariel and Father, so just be yourself. Besides you two can't stay mad at each other for long if you wanted to." Attina says. Aries swims up and hugs Attina.
"Thanks Tina." Aries then swims off headed to his room to talk with his sister. Ariel however has sneaked out of her room and passes Arista.
"Where are you going?" Arista asks
"Uh, forgot to brush my teeth." Ariel says as Arista lets her go. Ariel meets Flounder and the two sneak past guards as they leave Atlantica. Aries enters his shared room with his sister and notices Ariel isn't there.
"Where is she?" He wonders but then his mind goes straight to Stormy. Aries is about to swim out the room to look for Ariel when he runs into his father.
While Triton is asking his son about Ariel, the little mermaid is currently untying Stormy from his post.
Stormy, be quiet
Come on, let's try it
So many worlds to explore
I don't have a plan
You'll just have to trust my hand
He may be wise
But we still can surprise him
Someday
We'll break away
And we'll ride, you and me
To the edge of the edge of the sea
To be free from his undertow
I can't wait to know to go!
Let's go!
"Sebastian." Triton says as he and Aries swim up to the sea horse corral.
"Your majesty, I tried to stop her, but she wouldn't listen." Sebastain pleads with Triton.
"Ariel! Oh, I knew this would happen." Triton says.
"Don't worry, we'll get her back. Even if we have to search every corner of the seven seas. You'll have to ride with the crab." The keeper tells Flounder as he goes to get the sea horses ready for Triton, himself and the others.
"Ride? me? oh, no! No, no, no! no no no I don't ride no giant sea horses." Sebastian says.
"I know Stormy, he'll take her right into the wilderness." The keeper adds and Aries speaks up.
"If Stormy is heading into the wilderness, will these sea horses be able to keep up with him?" Aries asks.
"No, but there aren't many Sea horses that can. We'll just have to move as quick as we can and hope the trail doesn't go cold." The keeper tells Aries.
"Away!" Triton says as his sea horse and the Keeper's take off.
"Come on, Sebastian. We got to save Ariel. Away!" Flounder says as the seahorse he and Sebastain were riding takes off very slowly due to its old age.
"Wait! I'm coming! Watch it. This night has too many ups and downs already." Sebastain says. Aries however doesn't get on his Seahorse and instead swims over to another corral. There a silver seahorse is up and her teal eyes lock with Aries.
"I know you don't like people riding you Comet, but right now I need your help. You're the only giant sea horse that could reach Stormy quick enough to save my sister. Please help me girl." Aries pleads with Comet. The silver sea horse is untied by Aries and as if she understood everything, he said she lets him mount her.
"Can you find Stormy, Comet?" Aries asks and the giant sea horse takes off at top speed.
"Whoa!" Aries says as he can see his father and the keeper and eventually zooms past them.
"Don't worry Dad, I'll get Ariel and I'll bring her home." Aries says as Comet is already zooming past the others.
"Aries, wait. Come back son." Triton calls but Aries is already out of hearing range.
"Well, I don't believe it. Comet finally let someone ride her. That boy might just be special enough to catch Stormy after all." The keeper says.
As Aries is blasting off on Comet, Ariel is also enjoying her ride with Stormy, however as Stormy begins to enjoy being free again, he is responding less and less to Ariel.
"The wilderness. We better turn back, Stormy. Stop. Stop, Stormy! No!" Ariel tires to reason with Stormy but the Giant seahorse is not listening to her, and she can only go along for the ride wherever Stormy chooses to take her.
Far behind her Aries and Comet are covering a lot of ground.
"Slow down girl." Aries calls out as Comet eventually comes to a stop. Aries gets a good look around but sees no signs of Ariel or Stormy.
"Do you know where they are girl?" Aries asks Comet as he rubs her letting her know he appreciates her help. Comet looks around again before taking off again.
Meanwhile two octopus a grandfather and his grandson are camping outside.
"Hey, you think we'll see any wild giant sea horses tomorrow?" The grandson says.
"I don't know, kid. Used to be you couldn't take a walk in the wilderness without a giant wild sea horse stepping on two or three of your feet. These days, we'll be lucky to catch a glimpse of one." As soon as the grandfather says this Stormy blows past the two before finally slowing down enough for Ariel to get off him.
"Stormy, no! Slow down! You're going too fast! Whew! That was some ride. we better rest a while before we go back." Ariel says as Stormy rubs his face against hers. The two then lay down and go to sleep.
Back to Triton, Flounder, Sebastian, and the keeper on their chase.
"I've never spent such a night since I was washed ashore in Trinidad during the typhoon of '43." Sebastian complains.
"Quiet! Ariel might be hurt and calling for help. We also don't know if something happened to Aries either." Triton says worried about both his children.
"Sorry your majesty, I was momentarily delirious." Sebastian responds
"Ariel! Aries! Where are you two?" The king calls hoping to get a response.
"Ariel! Aries!" Flounder calls.
"Ariel! Where are you, girl?" Sebastian says.
"Ariel! Aries!" Triton calls out again.
Stormy is out grazing by himself as Ariel sleeps when the Octopus grandfather and grandson watch him.
"Well, kid, there's your first wild sea horse. Let's get him. Charge! Hold on there. whoa!" The grandfather calls as he and his grandson chase down Stormy. After a quick chase, they throw a rope around Stormy and catch the Sea horse.
"We got him! we got him! Yeah!" The Grandson says.
"Nice going, kid." The grandfather says.
" Whoo-ee! What a chase!" The grandson says.
"We got ourselves a real prize. Let's make camp, eat some sea beans, and gloat." The Grandfather congratulates his Grandson. Meanwhile Ariel wakes up and begins to look around for Stormy.
"Stormy! Stormy! Stormy! Stormy!" Ariel calls out as she is looking for Stormy. She eventually swims upon Stormy captured and the two Octopus celebrating.
"Ha ha ha!" The two cowboys celebrate their catch. Ariel quietly swims up to Stormy.
"Stormy. Shh. Shh." Ariel tells Stormy to be quite as she unties him while the Octopus are not paying attention. Once Stormy is free Ariel gets on him and the Sea Horse takes off alerting the Octopus.
"Alright, let's head him off at the pass!" the Grandson says. The two octopus begin to chase Ariel and Stormy through a canyon. Aries meanwhile has finally caught up to the camp site.
"They were just here. We're close Comet." Aries says as Comet takes off again. Aries can then see two people cashing Stormy with Ariel riding him. Ariel then hits her head and is knocked off Stormy.
"Ugh!"
"Ariel!" Aries says as Comet begins speeding up. Stormy had begun to turn around wishing to save his rider but Aries catches Ariel, saving her before anything worse can happen to her. Comet and Stormy then lock eyes as the two turn around and at top speed charge the two Octopus knocking them from their sea horses.
"I'm going to start rustling sea slugs. At least they leave a trail." The Grandfather says.
"Yeah, and sea slugs are a lot slower, too." The Grandson says.
"Ariel! Where are you? Ariel." Triton calls again but this time he is rewarded.
"Dad!" Aries shouts back. Triton smiles seeing his son riding on Comet with Ariel wrapped in his arms. Stormy was following behind Comet as Aries led them both back.
"We need to get her to the doctor; Aries says and Triton nods.
"Away!" Triton calls as everyone races back to Atlantica.
Back at Atlantica Aries, Triton, Flounder and Sebastain wait for the doctor to update them on Ariel's condition.
"She's going to be all right. You can talk to her for a while." The doctor says as he lets them into Ariel's room.
"Oh, your majesty, don't yell at her now. Wait till she feels better." Sebastian asks the King. Aries swims over and grabs Ariel's hand letting her know he was here.
"I am not going to yell at her. Ariel, can you hear me, dear?" Triton asks.
"Daddy? Aries! Flounder and Sebastian, too. Where's Stormy?" Ariel asks.
"That- ahem. That magnificent sea horse is just too wild for you." Triton remains calm.
"You're right, father." Ariel agrees.
"Now, I'll hear none of it- I'm right? Did you hear that? I'm right!" Aries decides now is the time to joke.
"Oh no, that bump to the head affected you more than we thought. She's agreeing with Dad." He jokes getting a smile from Ariel.
"Good for you, your majesty!" Sebastian cheers.
"I know sometimes you think I'm mean. I don't like to say no to you, Ariel, or to you either Aries, but sometimes I have to because I, because." Triton tries to finish his thought.
"Because you love us?" Ariel says.
"And you want nothing bad to happen to us." Aries adds.
"Ha ha ha ho! Oh, fathers are sometimes right, eh, Flounder?" Sebastian says.
"I hope they never argue again." Flounder adds.
"But you can't sell Stormy to that sea trader father." Ariel is firm on this.
"Of course not." Triton agrees with her.
"Whew! whew!" Sebastian and Flounder both say.
"As Soon as you're able, we'll release Stormy and Comet so they can roam free." Triton says.
"I'd like that, and so would they." Ariel adds. Aries then looks at everyone.
"Can I talk to Ariel alone for a minute?" He asks. Triton nods his head as he, Sebastian and Flounder leave the Mertwins alone who are both nervous.
"Ariel I'm sorry, I hurt you and made you cry, and I promise going forward I'm going to be a better brother." Aries starts to explain but Ariel hugs him and kisses his cheek.
"No, I wasn't fair to you Aries. You were only worried about me, and I wasn't fair to your feelings. I was a bad sister. Do you forgive me?" Ariel asks Aries.
"I already forgave you Ariel. We're Mertwins, even if we fight or if we're far apart I'm always there for you. If you ever need me or my help you always have it." Aries tells her.
"And you'll always have mine." Ariel agrees tightening her hug as Aries hugs her back. Triton smiles seeing his two youngest and knowing everything was back to normal.
The next day Ariel, Aries and Triton were about to release Stormy and Comet.
"Goodbye, Stormy. I'll never forget you." Ariel says as she says goodbye to Stormy.
"Thank you for all your help, Comet, I'll never forget what you did for me." Aries says his goodbyes as well. Stormy and Comet then take off toward open sea once they were free.
"I'm proud of you both, Ariel, Aries. Now, I know he's not Stormy, but Seabiscuit is more the kind of a sea horse a young lady should ride." Triton says leading Ariel to her seahorse.
"Oh, I quite agree, father." Ariel agrees as she gets on her new seahorse. Triton is about to introduce Aries to his new seashore when to the shock of everyone, Comet returns to Aries.
"Comet, what are you doing back? You're free girl." Aries says laughing and patting the Seahorse.
"I believe Comet has made her choice Aries. It seems she wants to be your seahorse and that is more important than being in the wild." Triton says. Aries looks at Comet and sees that is what she wants.
"Ok then, you chose me so you're my Seahorse and I'm your rider." Aries says smiling as he gets on Comet.
"Race you home! Whee!" Ariel says to her dad and brother as she takes off.
"I'll give you and Ariel a head start dad." Aries says as Triton smiles.
"Ha ha! Away!" Triton says. Aries lets them get a head start as he said and looks to Comet.
"Ride like the Sea Comet." Aries says as Comet takes off after Ariel and Triton, Aries smiling the entire time.
Stormy looks back at the family before rushing off into the open ocean.
Ok so a couple of things. I got to explore Aries bond with Attina. Not only would Attina have been a mother like figure, but Attina is the only sister that could possibly understand his feelings about Athena. Triva number 1 is Princess Lena is a real princess. I reveal it in the next chapter. Urchin's intro is going to be fun. Triva 2 is for Mermaid pregnancies in my stories I imagine they are like Dolphins. Mermaids are similar in culture to us humans as well as Dolphins, so I imagined pregnancy was similar. This also makes explaining Melody to Ariel easier as if Mermaids get pregnant like Dolphins, then she would know somewhat what to expect. Well, that's head cannon.
Finally, I mentioned Neverland because I like the head canon that Athena was a teenager in Peter Pan. That being said no current plans to feature Neverland or Peter Pan. Until next time thank you.
