Chapter 2: Reunion with a Friend(Shiro(Clone)'s POV)
Shiro sighs. He's glad he and Marinette reached a conclusion about the Voltron Show, after consulting how the other team members thought. So in a few days they will start their tour. Marinette apparently is going to direct and Coran is going to help.
He doesn't doubt that Marinette can handle it, as she stated before, 'I've done this before.'
Though personally he doesn't think filming a highschool flick doesn't count. But he has to admit that Marinette can handle Coran a lot better than he can when it comes to his strange antics.
He hopes that Pidge's mission of finding her brother is working out for her. Shiro does want to see Matt last time he saw Matt was when he had attacked him to save him from fighting in the arena. The arena where the Galra called him champion. He shudders as he remembers fighting in that vicious arena.
It takes all of his strength not to suffer a panic attack remembering those days, alone, in a cell. Fighting for survival. It doesn't help that he suffered it twice. Or well, at least something similar. Being on that ship for days with no hope of survival and then finally meeting Marinette.
His head aches as he remembers the silly fight he had engaged with her. She had saved his life by recusing from that cold dark..ship. He grips his head, images coming back forcefully. Then it passes. Which fills Shiro with relief.
As he hasn't told anyone of his trauma yet. Because, well, the others look up to him. He hears footsteps and turns around finding Lance. "Pidge found her brother!"
"That's good news."
Lance nods, "She wants us to meet him outside the Castle."
"Lead the way then."
Despite his tone not sounding too eager, Shiro couldn't help but be excited to see an old friend. A friend who knows what it feels like to be captured. Not that his friends in Voltron were any less important, it's just none of them know what it's like to be held prisoner, or to have their hand removed because they excelled at winning Galra entertainment battles.
Matt didn't go through that, but he knows what it's like to be treated as lesser than a human being.
When they get to the place Pidge is waiting, Shiro sees Matt for the first time. He almost cries when he sees Matt again. The science geek is all grown up, and he has a scar on his cheek that wasn't there before. His light brown amberish hair is also longer and less poofy than it used to be.
"Shiro? You're alive. I didn't think, I thought…"
He hugs Matt, "I'm fine. I survived."
Matt's amber eyes look at him with concern "You sure. I've heard that fighting for…"
"I'm fine." It comes out more strained than he likes. But at least Matt recluntaly changes the subject.
"Ya know, I didn't think that my baby sister and my comrade were a part of Voltron. But here you guys are."
"Well life does have its surprises." Marinette replies to Matt's statement.
"So who are you? No offense but I don't think I've met you or those boys by your side or that pretty girl with the white hair."
"The boy besides the bluenette Marinette is Lance, our sharpshooter, next to him is Hunk our cook and one of the legs of Voltron, the orange haired dude is Coran, who is an Altean, and the girl next to him is Princess Allura of Altea."
"So the rumors are true. Many people in my freedom fighter squad have only heard that along with Voltron coming back from ten thousand years that so did a Princess who is of Altean origin." Matt replies to his sister's statement of introduction.
Allura replies coldy, "Yes, me and my friend Coran are the only ones left. Now if excuse me and Marinette we have guests to attend to."
Marinette smiles, unbothered by Allura's coldness, "Well Pidge I'm glad you were able to find your brother. It was a pleasure to meet with him, even if it was short."
Shiro smiles, typical Marinette, always remaining positive.
"Well Matt, I suppose we should let you and Pidge have some alone time and catch up." Shiro suggests, even though he isn't quite ready to leave Matt, fearing that he might never see him again. As the freedom fighter group he's in could need him at any moment.
That's just a silly fear. Or is it? As Keith disappeared and was replaced by Marinette…Stop. You can't change what happened. But still he worries for his little brother's safety.
Even though he knows that Earth is much safer than being out in Space. Maybe he needs some fresh air. He waves to Pidge and Matt and walks through the Olkarion forest. Already the serene atmosphere the forest creates calms his frayed nerves.
Also the sunlight emitting from the Olkarion sun feels nice on his face. Warmth spreads through his body and the Olkarion fresh forest smell makes him feel at ease. Like he was back on Earth and enjoying its nature.
Author's Note: Happy Valentine's Day! Also this chapter is directly after the second episode. I did not want to rewrite Pidge finding her brother so instead I wrote a reunion chapter with Shiro. I feel that clone Shiro, until season five in the episode that shows us Oriande, isn't as traumatized as Shiro. So I will be exploring that(as at this point there's really nothing else for me to write about clone Shiro), which is why this chapter has parts where he briefly has a panic attack(as I think Shiro's memories along with the clones is pretty traumatizing, because of events that have happened). Anyways I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter:)
