I will be writing out scenes even if my Oc isn't in them. As long as she's mentioned, or influencing the characters in some way. This may seem a bit annoying. But that's just how I write. I like to embed my characters into the story line. Because of this, most of the dialogue/scenes will come from the original work.

Today's Special

There is one pain,

I often feel,

which you will never know.

It's caused by the absence of you.

~ Ashleigh Brilliant

{Third P.O.V.}

Aurora ducked avoiding a blow from a Fomoire, at the same time she swung her whip forward, the flexible metal wrapped around the neck of the beast, so when she yanked it back, it snapped its neck. Killing it instantly.

"Lefiya!" The silver haired beauty called, "I know you shouldn't rush it. But you mind speeding this up a little! My time is almost up!" Aurora shouted, eyes on the Minatour she had summoned, nervously. She only had a minute left before the tamed beast returned to her pocket dimension. She sighed, 'May as well have him kill as many as he can before he leaves.' she thought. "Minnie!" she called, getting the collared beast's attention, "We have a minute left, so focus on reducing their numbers!" Aurora ordered, pointing at a cluster of goat monsters. The beast nodded, and charged forward as commanded.

As she was doing this a Fomoire charged at her, but before she could react, Bete lunged forward and kicked one of it's legs, breaking it. Causing the beast to topple forward. It tried to reach for the male wolf, only for it to get a kick to the face, followed by another, that broke its neck. Bete's ears twitched in irritation, "How many times do I have to tell you to pay attention?" He then smirked, "Or were you hoping a certain captain would save you." he teased.

Aurora's face turned a bright scarlet, "Shut up! What if someone hears you!" She cried, taking her anger out on a poor Fomoire, pulling it close by wrapping her whip around it's arms, and then it's neck. Snapping it.

"Don't wanna." Bete chuckles, following his sister's lead. "It's so hard to get you flustered. I gotta use this well, I still can."

She instantly catches onto his meaning. "I'm not going to confess." Aurora says for what feels like the millionth time. She turns to look at Finn who had just finished killing a Fomoire, and was already slaying another before the dust from the last one could settle. "We all know what he wants. And that's something I can never be."

"Come on. Cheer up Lefiya." Tiona tells the girl, who was sitting, against a tree, on her knees. "Your food's getting cold." she says, holding a bowl full of soup, some pieces of bread, cheese, strips of meat, and two bones with the meat right on them, in front of her.

Lefiya only whimpers, trying her best to not let the tears that have gathered on the edge of her eyes, to fall.

"Hey. Where safe now. And all we have to do is set up our camp." The younger amazon smiles. "You don't need to worry, ok." She says. "Besides you need to eat or you won't get any bigger."

Aurora nods and kneels next to the elf, her tail wagging, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have rushed you. That was no help at all. Come on now. Cheer up and I'll let you pat my tail~" she tries to bribe. Lefiya looks at her, tempted. It's a hard offer to resist. Who wouldn't want to pet the soft fluffy tail. But she was still kind of scared of what the captain would do to her, if she accepted. And she wasn't sure she could survive, like some of the others who were offered to touch the soft fur, on rare occasions. With that though in mind, the elf quickly shakes her head.

Aurora tilts her head and her twitch slightly, in confusion, "Could have sworn that would work." The woman mummers to herself.

"Look, you did all you could. Besides the monster attacks were particularly brutal this time anyways. Now hurry up and eat. All though as you can see not even binge eating can everything grow bigger." Tione says, eyes trailing to her sister's chest.

"What did you just say!" The younger shouts.

The fight was cut short before it could really even begin, by Lefiya finally speaking again. "I'm so sorry." The girl apologies once again. "I totally messed up my incantation. All because I was too scared of the monsters." She says, looking down at the ground between her legs, "I am nothing but an utter disgrace to the Loki familia."

Aurora pets her head comfortingly. "Relax. You should have seen my first time down here. I messed up more incantations that I got right my first few times. The Captain had to keep saving me. And up to this day I still sometimes need help holding down monsters long enough for me to chant and collar them." She smiles at the younger girl, reassuringly.

"Really?" Lefiya asks, raising her head. Not believing that one her role models were once in her shoes.

Aurora nods, "Honest. Don't believe me, then feel free to ask him."

"What's the matter?" Ais asks, walking over to the group.

Lefiya looks at the blond girl with wide eyes.

"We've been trying to cheer up Lefiya here for a while now. Looks like Aurora is finally starting to get to her." Tiona answers.

Aurora shrugs, "She just needs to know that messing up a couple times isn't the end. Well you could die, but she has party members to look out for her and cover her back."

Lefiya runs up, leaving Aurora still kneeling on the ground, and pushing Tiona aside. "She sure is fast when she wants to be." The wolf girl comments, one of her ears laying flat against her head.

"Hey there Ais. I wanna thank you so much for saving me back there. I really do appreciate it." says the elf girl.

The tall blond blinks before speaking. "No problem. As Aurora just said. We are party members. Are you hurt?" She asks, concerned, though her tone doesn't exactly convey the feeling that well.

"No." Lefiya answers at once. "I'm just fine." She says, her voice getting quieter, "I just always end up needing someone to protect me. I'm useless. Nothing but a burden." Her eyes widen as Ais begins petting her.

Tiona latches onto Ais, hugging her from over the shoulder and the side. "Watch it Ais. It's not nice to make your cute juniors cry."

"I didn't mean to." The blond answers, not pushing the other woman away.

"Well, then why is she crying then?" The amazon asks.

"Stop teasing Ais." Aurora says, smacking Tiona on the back of her head.

Meanwhile, Lefiya was a blubbering mess, as she recounted how the Sword Princess gloved hands had felt on her head. "S-she was so gentle, such soft and gentle…"

"Is she six?" Tione asks from beside her.

"Lefiya, you seem to really admire Ais." Tiona comments.

Though the elf doesn't deny it. "Yes. She has it all. She's strong and beautiful. And so kind. She's perfect."

"Looks like you got yourself a fangirl." Tiona says, pulling Ais cheek gently.

Aurora fondly smiles at her, "It's perfectly fine to have someone you admire and look up to. In fact, that can make you even better."

"Oh, and who's that for you?" Tione asks, teasingly.

Aurora chokes on air as she tries to think of an answer. 'I can't tell her it's the captain. She'll kill me!' The wolf thinks.

Luckily for her though, Lefiya speaks up again, gaining the attention of the other women. "I'm nothing but a disgrace." Everyone looks at her, as she once again enters her self-pity mode. "Why even take someone like me on a mission. I'm obviously still far below you all."

"Excuse me?" Tione seethes, taking the girls words the wrong way. "What's that supposed to mean?" Lefiya let out a squeak in fear at the look on the amazon girl's face. "Our Captain was the one who chose you for this expedition. Are you trying to say he was wrong in his choice?

"No!" Lefiya cries out at once, as she runs away from the amazon, and hides behind the other three women. "That's not what I'm trying to say at all."

"Yeah, about that. I was actually the one who recommended her to the captain." Aurora answers, raising her hand in the air.

"What's that supposed to mean!" The amazon yells, still enraged.

"Everything ok?" The man in question asks, walking over to the group of women. "Is there something I should know about, Tione."

"No, Captain." Tione answers, instantly lowering her voice, as a blush dusts her cheeks. Though to her credit, she wasn't the only one blushing. A certain she-wolf, was trying to stop blushing by calming her heart and her breathing. "We were just all playing around over here you know."

"Captain!" Tiona raises her hand in the air. "She's totally lying. Tione was bullying Lefiya. Then she threatened and scared her. She even yelled at Aurora."

Tione cuts her sister off by jumping her and smothering her face into her large breasts, to silence her. "I'm so sorry. The things she comes up with. Probably just another case of her boob envy."

Tiona pulls away and points a finger at her sister, will you leave your boobs out of it! What are you doing! Stop jiggling those stupid things around."

"Hey, it's not my fault your flatter than deflated pancakes." Tione answers. The two sisters begin growling at each other.

Gareth sighs, "That's enough bickering. It's exhausting."

"But Gareth!" Tiona whines.

"Yeah," Finn agrees, "all that aside. The real dangers of this expedition will be upon us soon. I'm counting on you Tione."

"Oh yes Captain." Tione answers at once.

Finn turns to the other blond, "And Ais, you have a minute?" he asks. The girl nods.

"Lefiya, I need you to come with me. Let's talk." Riveria calls.

"Right!" The other girl says at once, jogging after the older elf.

"Oh god, he's just as gorgeous from behind." Tione moans, cupping her pink cheeks.

"Oh my god, you sure are easy." Tiona comments.

Aurora hums as she checks their current inventory. Her concentration is cut off when she sees her brother jumping through some trees. "Bete! Where are you going?" She calls. When she gets no response, she begins running after him. 'That's not good. He's mad again.' She speeds up, and grabs a hold of the back of his jacket. "Stop!"

"What do you want?" He turns around and growls at her.

"For you to tell me what's got your tail in such a knot." She answers.

He pulls himself out of her grasp, only for her to grab his forearm, with an even firmer hold. The silver bracelet wrapped around her wrist, shining dangerously in the beams of light poking through the trees. Threatening to turn into a whip at a moment's notice. So he sighs, and pulls away once again. But this time he leans against a tree to show that he wasn't going to run off.

"So, what's wrong?" Aurora asks again.

"I'm not telling you anything. I don't have to, I'm older"

"Fine. I guess we're staying here as long as we need." The woman answers, leaning against a tree across from her brother.

Bete rolls his eyes, "Oh please. Don't say that as if you weren't going to help your precious captain out with his planning later. Isn't that why you were taking inventory. So you could get a pet on the head, or maybe a, 'Good girl'."

Aurora narrows her eyes and glares at him, "Don't try and change the subject."

They stare at each other for a solid five minutes, neither breaking the gaze. Eventually Bete sighs, "Fine. That old hag was going on about how that brat can level up as long as she works hard, believes and other such crap."

Aurora sighs, "That's it? They won't replace you. They won't replace us. That's not how the Loki familia works. That's not how Finn works." Before he could protest, the woman holds up her hand to stop him. "I'm not just saying that because I like him. You should know it by now too. Now quite pouting you big puppy."

Bete blushed, "Stop calling me that!"

"Nope~" Aurora says in a singsong voice. "You make fun of my crush, I make fun of you~"

Before Bete can fire back at her, he's cut off by a loud, shrill cry.

"That's a monster!" Aurora says at once. "And it definitely sounds big!"

"Lets go!" Bete says, already running towards the cry. Aurora nods, jumping through trees, following him.

They rushed to the sight in time to see a bright purple liquid pour out of the head of one the caterpillar like monsters.

"Don't let that hit you!" Aurora orders. "That's possibly poison or acid." She says, knowing that the colour purple in monsters often meant one of those two things. Her gaze then travels to Tiona's spear, which was beginning to melt away before their eyes. "It's acid! Drop it!"

Tiona does as she says at once, "Oh, no!" The girl cries. "Not my Urga!"

"Come on!" Bete shouts, jumping up and kicking one of the monsters in the front of the pack under its head. Knocking it backward, and creating almost a domino effect that's pushing the rest of the monsters down the stairs to the 51 floor. He then turns back to glare at the rest, "Well just don't stand there and watch you wussies. More are coming."

"Crap!" Tiona curses, as she wiggles her fingers. "What am I supposed to do without my weapon."

"The way things are right now. We can't even attack them." Tione adds.

Aurora huns in though, her tail wagging slowly behind her, "Our attacks have either be blunt, or able to kill them in one go so the combust right away. We could try snapping and breaking their necks."

"Aurora, Tione, Tiona." Finn calls, appearing beside Aurora, causing her to jump a little. "We have to incinerate them with magic. If that fails to work, we'll go with Aurora's plan, using blunt attacks. But that's only if. Until then, distract them and buy us time for the incantation." The three girls nod.

Aurora charges forward, 'I can't risk using any monsters. They won't really hold up against acid. But I wonder…' Aurora, gets a running start, and then leaps into the air, and tabs hold off the nape of one of the monsters. She pulls a collar out and reaches towards one of it's antennas. "This will have to do for now. But don't worry, I'll get a bigger one made for your neck later." After her quick little apology, she begins her incantation. "My shackles shall bind you, my collars shall brand you. My blood flows through you, I flow through you. Making every action of yours, mine. You are mine to command. So I give you the name Slither. Now bind with me and become mine Slither!"

Just as she finishes the chant, a white hot pain explodes in her head, causing her to cry out. Her scream gains the attention of the rest of her familia. The pain forces her to let go of her newly tamed monster and she begins to fall. But before she can hit the ground, she's wrapped in a pair of arms. "Are you ok?" Finn asks, concerned as he gently cradles her.

Aurora looks at him through blurry eyes, she wants to say yes, so he won't worry, but is forced to let out a whimper as another, fiercer, wave of pain hits her.

"What's wrong with her?" She can hear her brother shout from a distance.

But Finn doesn't answer, a frown painted on his face as he takes in the pained expression on their tamer's face. 'This is the first time she's reacted like this after taming something.' He thinks. Not knowing what else to do, he begins to gently pet her head, rubbing her ears in between every one in a while. He smiles as he watches her tense body, easy up a little. After a few moments, she opens her eyes, and pushes herself up. "Are you ok!" He asks again.

This time she nods, "I'm fine now captain." Aurora answers, giving him a small smile. "I can still fight." But as soon as she tries to stand, her jelly-like legs give out from underneath her, causing her to fall back onto Finn's lap.

The blond's eyes narrow, "That's it. You're staying here." He commands.

"But-"

"No." He says firmly, "You can barely stand right now. If you try to chant and call a monster here now. You'll go into a mind down. And you haven't worked nearly enough with this monster to use it to fight. So just let the five minutes run there course, until it's pushed into your pocket dimension."

For the rest of the time, Finn refuses to let Aurora fight, killing any monsters that get close to them.

Aurora feels horrible, that she can do nothing but watch, as the rest of her familia fights.

Unable to help them at all.

As soon as the fighting comes to a close, the entire Loki familia is rushing towards Aurora, only for them to take a couple steps back at the intense glare their captain throws at them. "Slow down." He only says two words, but they are enough for the rest of them to know that if they do or say anything to aggravate the woman, or make him think they're aggravating her. They definitely won't like their chores for the next couple of weeks.

"What happened out there?" Bete fires off the first question that's on the top of everyone's mind. "That's never happened to you before!"

"I don't know." Aurora shakes her head, unable to give them a real answer. "I was able to tame it. But it's the first time ever been in pain because of it."

"Did you perhaps get hit?" Riveria suggests.

Aurora shakes her head. "No."

Finn nods, "I checked. There was no injury on her head."

'Cur the crap Captain. We all know you were petting her.' Everyone, but the girl in question, thinks. But no one has the courage to verbalise it.

"Either way. When you summon it to train. Don't do it alone. Have someone else with you. If it's what's causing you pain, then it would be better to just kill it." Finn tells her.

"This may be it." Tione says, showing the group a brown coloured stone, with a green centre.

"It's different." Tiona says.

"That may be it." Aurora nods. "Does that mean I'll have to make sure the beast I'm dealing with doesn't have a brown stone before I tame it!"

"It's better to be safe than sorry. We'll just have to make sure they don't have one, if that truly is the reason." Finn nods. He sighs, "For now. It's best to retreat."

"You want us to retreat?!" Tiona exclaims. "Even though we've come this far Already!"

"We have no choice." Gareth says, shaking his head. "We've suffered too much damage." Tiona huffs.

Riveria nods and adds, "After the rock slide just waking through the passages is dangerous."

"I know how you feel. But we must pull back." Finn says, licking the tip of his thumb. "Whenever my thumb throbs with pain something is bound to go wrong."

"Come on there's always next time." Gareth tells the group.

Tiona rubs the back of her head, "Kinda hard to argue with that I guess."

"Well, let's head back." Finn finalises.

As they are wrapping everything up, Bete can't help but make tease his sister. "Bet you enjoyed your little head rub~"

The guards outside the tower could hear the male wolf's cry of pain as his sister kicked him straight between his legs.

Though when anyone would ask, neither would say a world. Aurora for her secret, and Bete in fear of his twin. Though if you looked closely, you could see Aurora's hands wandering back to her head, where the captain of the Loki familia had pet her.

Finn was a bit OC in this, but what can I say a guy in- nope, not going there in the first chapter. But it's obvious he cares for her.

So the question here is, what or who, does he value more?

For that I say, you'll just have to wait to find out!

:)
