Chapter 7: Oblivio (Adrien POV)
Adrien sighs. "Come on Adrien tell us what it was like at the Team Miraculous Movie premiere! My fans are dying to know."
"Can't you wait till it comes out to theatres for all audiences so that you can give your own opinion?"
Alya gives him a pout, "But that won't be till next month!" Nino gives her a pointed look, "You know he's right, Alya, besides we haven't hung out in ages, did you really expect him to jus…"
"Listen to Nino, Alya. Besides I am way too busy, between fencing, chinese, modelling and trying to hang out with my friends and Keith was there too." He doesn't say it too bluntly, but he does notice that Nino's face has a look of hurt. But whatever they chose their path, besides coming up to me and badgering me about doing an interview, is not a good way for us to rekindle our friendship that broke, Adrien thinks.
"But…we're on bad terms with…."
He puts his books inside his locker, not thinking he will need them, when Lila herself has waltzed in. To be honest sitting next to her isn't a big deal, as it only switched a few seats around. However Lila is starting to get on his nerves. The class just falls for her petty lies and acts like her obedient loyal servants as if she were a queen.
Not to mention the fact that somehow she knows mupilte celebrities and hasn't shown any actual proof of that being true.
"Hey Adrien," Lila coos, which almost makes him gag, and it interrupts Alya. "Hey Lila."
"I was wondering if you could me with finishing catching up my homewo…"
"No can do, Liela. I've got fencing to do after school today and my dad would be pisssed if I miss a day." Plus Keith and Kagami are there, with Chloe watching so his friends will be there. So no way is he going to miss that for Liela and her stupid excuse of not doing homework while in Achu.
Lila bristles, "But Adrien!"
"But nothing Liela." Adrien retorts. Why is Lila making this difficult? He understood most girls in his class would be after him, but Lila was obsessive. Often like this, trying to push herself into his life without any regard for what he thinks. Not to mention as well as with his other duties, he has to go and see Master Fu for his training, even though it is complete.
Adrien walks away, leaving Lila behind.
No One's POV
"Lila, are you okay," Ayla asks her classmate, forgetting about how Adrien brushed he and Nonio off. Lila, still furious, does not respond. "Yeah Dudette are you okay? Is something that Adrien said bothered you, because if it is then you know…"
"Shut up you pathetic loser! Shut up!"
Both Nino and Alya recoil at the harshness of Lila's words. Where was the kind Rossli they know, both of them wonder. Lila walks away not apologising, and since Nino and Alya consider Liela in high regard, they are hurt, thinking that if they could take back what they said and make Lila forget, Lila wouldn't have called them pathetic or losers.
Giving Hawkmoth another opportunity to strike so soon after yesterday's Movie Premiere ficaso.
Adrien's POV
"Are you so sure you want that Rossi girl to get mad at you?" asks Plagg.
"It doesn't matter, I would have made her mad sooner or later, since Ladybug exposed that she was lying to me. I knew beforehand since she was always trying to get close to me, so…"
"So you would have made her angry anyways. But still Hawkmoth could akumatize her again, now that he's stopped taking a break."
Adrien looks at his kwami, "Since when have you become the worried type?"
Plagg shrugs, "All I know is Lila, since she might still hate Ladybug for humiliating her in front of you, might not have forgiven her. Which means she might make a powerful ally in Hawkmoth's plan."
"Yeah and there's the fact she might have been reakumatize into Volphina on Heroes' Day to make the illusion of Honeybee killing me as Chat Noir. As there isn't any other akuma I can recall that can make an illusion like that."
Plagg nods, but still looks at him in concern.
"I'll be fine."
"I'm just worried that with all these responsibilities piling up on you kid, you won't be able to act like a kid anymore when that's all you wanted. It would be the same thing if I couldn't have my camembert whenever I felt like it."
Adrien scoffs, "Not the same thing. But I'll be fine, I have my friends and Team Miraculous to help out so it won't be that big of a deal." His friends have already improved his life even if he is still busy with what is going on concerning Hawkmoth.
He hopes they can defeat Hawkmoth soon, so that Master Fu can retire in peace eventually, even if Adrien still doesn't want him to. But Master Fu deserves a life of peace.
"Halt!" Adrien turns around and sees a man covered in all purple with a gray glove on his one hand and a cannon arm with a glowing purple substance. So an akuma was formed, but is it…
"We are Oblivio and we will make Lila forget everything! So do you know where she went, boy?"
"Nope." He replies camly, not in the mood to act frightened and like he hasn't dealt with a ton of akumas before.
"Wrong answer, Adrien! Now we'll make you forget who you are!"
Oblivio fires up his cannon arm, and Adrien ducks just in time as the purple light hits the direction where he stood last. That was close! Definitely do not want to get by the amnesia causing purple ray, Adrien thinks as he runs throughout the school. He runs into the boy's bathroom and hides in one of the stalls.
"What did I tell you kid." Plagg says in a monotone voice.
Out of breath Adrien just gives his Kwami an eye roll. "Plagg Claws Out!" he shouts. Once the transformation is complete he runs out of the boys bathroom. Listening with his super hearing he hears footsteps approaching from one of the hallways across the room from him.
Oblivio enters the room. He can't tell if Oblivo is happy or disappointed that his alter ego persona, Chat Noir, is in front of him instead of civilian self, Adrien Agreste because he has no face to convey emotions.
"Well, well, well. Instead of Adrien Agreste we got a kitty. Too bad your fate and his will be the same. To forget who you are!"
Well that answers his question, Adrien thinks as he dodges another purple laser. This strategy won't work, he can't keep dodging these attacks. He needs to regroup with his team and think of a plan.
Spotting an opening, Adrien makes a mad dash towards the hallway behind Oblivio. Just as he turns the corner he hears a blast hitting open a classroom door. Another very close call. He steps into another classroom, and from the looks of it, it's a science classroom.
Closing the door behind him, Adrien sighs in relief. Then he ducks underneath the teachers desk and opens his staff phone. He picks the option to call all of his teammates. After ringing for several minutes, he hits voicemail.
Adrien whispers, "Guys there's another akuma at Francoise Dupont high school and it has the power to erase memories so if I could have some backup that would be nice. I'll meet you guys on the school roof."
A Few Moments Later:
Adrien stands on the roof and is relieved to see his teammates came.
"What took you so long, kitty?" asks Honeybee. "Weren't you the one who called us here?"
Her arms are crossed and she has raised her eyebrows in confusion. He chuckles, "Sorry, I just had to make sure the akuma didn't follow me up here. As I wouldn't want him to erase our memories."
"If that's the case then the akuma must have to aim at their targets. Which means we'll need to make an illusion." Marmora murmurs.
Adrien nods, "Yeah, that and I don't think I could handle Oblivio on my own."
Rouge Renarde steps forward, "But how will we take the akuma down. If we plan to use my illusions then we need to cornate what the illusion is going to do and what we are actually doing. And that requires a lot of space. As my illusions , if they get touched and I lose focus because of that they disappear."
"Well we could lure the akuma to the gym with Rouge already inside and then as we enter she could start up her illusion…"
"But that is a risk because of the akumas abilities!" Adrien interrupts Marmora. And that's not a risk he's willing to take.
Ryuko says, "But it's a risk we'll have to take. Besides there are five of us. Four will be luring the akuma to the gym. And if we get and our memories get blocked your Cataclysm will esrae the block from our minds."
Adrien sighs, Kaga…Ryuko has a point. And they won't be able to get anywhere if they don't take risks to ensure Hawkmoth's defeat.
"Fine, I just hope this works."
