Chapter 8: Trying a Plan Against an Akuma That Can Erase Our Memories…. Fun(Chloe's POV)

Chloe breathes. They don't know where the akuma went, and if it's in the gym, well God help Rouge Renarde. Keith(Raven)'s plan should work and it sounds solid enough. They just have to enact it right.

However she is worried that this risk won't pay off. Chloe shakes her head. It will work, it has to work. You've faced akumas before, this one isn't so different. But this one can erase your memories and make you forget the plan and all of your memories, Chloe thinks.

"Hey, it'll be fine." Marmora whispers. She nods, but doesn't reply. How can he be so calm throughout all of this. Nothing seems to bug him, and on Heroes' Day Keith(Raven) seemed to enjoy the thrill of having the difficulty of beating an army of akumas.

There was still so much she has yet to discover about her boyfriend, he has revealed some things to her, but not much. So Raven still has an air of mystery surrounding him.

Cut that out, it's not the time to think about your boyfriend when you've got an akuma to catch, Chloe angrily tells herself inside her head.

Of course at that moment Oblivio appears in front of them. "Run!" Chat yells, and Chloe heeds his direction. Hopefully none of them get by the akuma's ray that causes amnesia. It should be impossible to aim at all of them, yet the akuma could still…

"Chat Noir where do you think you're going?! I still haven't made you forget who you are, and then once I am finished with you I'll do the same thing to your teammates!"

She stops a shiver from coming over her, and continues to run. Then she hears something, like someone bumping into someone and then a grunt of pain or a gasp. However she cannot stop as they have a plan, and those sounds were faint so it could be her mind making it up because of the panic it's in.

Bursting through the doors of the gymnasium, Chloe felt relief. Which is not something she thought she'd feel coming into a gymnasium. Quickly she runs to the locker rooms and sits on one of the benches, panting.

Rouge asks, "You ok…" At that moment the others burst in, all except Marmora, Keith's super hero form. "Ummm. Where's Marmora," Rouge asks and a feeling of dread washes over Chloe. She looks at Ryuko and Chat and they exchange a look of horror between themselves.

"Well I think he pushed himself to save me from the amnesia blast Oblivio shot at me."

"We've got to go back for him!" She yells. They can't let the akuma get a hold of him. Not when he doesn't remember who he is.

"I understand Honeybee, but Oblivio is still after us, so Hawkmoth isn't set on Marmora's miraculous. His priority is on mine."

"That doesn't mean we leave him there!"

Chat sighs, "This has gotten into a big mess. Alright Rouge, you need to create an illusion like we planned while me and Honeybee go back for Marmora. I trust Ryuko that you can handle yourself?"

Ryuko nods, "I won't let you down, Team Leader."

"Good."

Chat beckons her to follow him. Standing up she walks over to him and they head out to find Marmora. Dread piles up in her mind of what they'll find. Did the amnesia blast make Raven detransform?

Following their previous path, she and Chat walk in silence. Nerve wracking silence. Doesn't help that the school hallways are empty of students since it's been after school time for however long.

Making the school even more eerie than before.

Then Marmora appears walking. Relief fills Chloe, so it didn't make him detransform. Good. However when they approach him, Marmora narrows his eyes.

"Who are you?"

"You mean you don't remember us?"

"I don't even know my name, let alone who I am!" Marmora shouts. "All I remember is waking up on the floor and then walking around."

Chloe looks at Chat, so the akuma does have the power to erase memories. She sees the look of anguish in Chat's face as looks away from her and stares at Marmora. She feels the same way. Why would an akuma want to torment a person this way?

"Why are you guys dressed funny? Is it a Halloween party? Also Why do you guys look familiar?"

Chloe frowns, "No it's December, which means it's winter and not fall. So there is snow instead of colorful leaves on the trees."

Marmora nods, "Thought so when I looked out the windows to this building, but I still don't get why you're dressed like that."

"Well…we're superheroes." Chat replies.

Marmora tilts his head slightly and raises one of his eyebrows, "Superheroes? I thought those only existed in comic books. And that the only real heroes were some American dudes in history textbooks."

"American?" Chloe asks. Odd, considering it seems like Marm…Keith had no problem speaking French when he first arrived. So did he study it in America and then come here to go to the eleventh grade? No, that doesn't seem likely.

"Yeah, I think I lived in northeastern Nebraska near some famous building, but that's still a little fuzzy," Marmora replies furrowing his brow.

"We'll worry about your memory problem later, right now we need to head back to the Gym and help out Ryuko."

"That name sounds familiar to me Chat Noir."

Chloe raises her eyebrows in surprise, not thinking that he would remember Adrien's superhero name, though calling Adrien 'cat black' is probably just what Keith assumed Adrien's superhero name would be. Probably, though she has no idea how amnesia works.

"It should be, but we need to get it now as we have no idea how Ryuko is handling the akuma on her own."

Kagami's POV

"Water Dragon!"

Kagami transforms herself into a watery-like shape that is dragon-like. She dodges the akumas ray by moving her watery form like she were dodging or moving her watery shape to make a hole for the ray to pass by.

Her fellow fencing classmates are watching, because a few minutes ago class was supposed to start and they just came out of the locker room and Monsieur D'Argencourt is also watching, because screw getting his students to safety. Not that she doesn't understand, who wouldn't want to watch an akuma fight.

However that doesn't justify not getting his student to safety which are her classmates. She also hopes that Marmora is okay.

Focusing back to Oblivio though, it seems like nothing she does limits the use of shots the amnesia ray has. Which is frustrating. Someone needs to hold the akuma down and break the akumatized object. Turning her head she spots Chat Noir, Honeybee, and Marmora.

"Look out!" shouts Marmora, Chat Noir and Honeybee. Kagami turns her head and dodges a blast from Oblivio by moving her watery shape. She doesn't know for how much longer she can dodge Oblivio's attacks.

Adrien's POV

"Chat, shouldn't one of us…"

"I'll handle that Galra looking man." Marmora interrupts Chloe. Adrien glances at Honeybee, making them share a confused look.

"Galra look…"

"It'll be easy. I'll just tackle him and make sure he can't blast his gun lasers at you by pinning his arms."

"You're sure?" He asks his friend. Marmora hadn't name dropped the Galra before. And it was a word Adrien was sure he had never heard of. Not from anime, manga, cartoons, books, not from anything really.

And it wasn't just that, Marmora, despite having his memory gone, still seemed to glow with confidence at the task he just proposed. But it would be better if Honeybee somehow got her Venom to the akuma.

"Thanks for volunteering, but I think it would be better if Honeybee attacked the akuma with her Venom to make him still. It would be better than you just tackling him and pinning his arms down, Marmora."

"I told you before that isn't my name. That's a name that's a name occupied by the Blades who call themselves the Blades of...The Blades of.. The Blades of Something! So just don't call me by that name!"

"Okay! Okay. I get it, sheesh."

Why doesn't he seem downcast that his idea wasn't what was picked? He recalls how easily Marmora slipped into the team aesthetic when Ryuko was made a member of Team Miraculous. It's almost like he's done this before, but how?

"Team Leader, we should enact your plan now, as it seems our water dragon friend is tiring."

"Right, and don't call me team leader, just call me Chat." Adrien doesn't like the weight of responsibility being called the Team Leader of Team Miraculous that title makes him feel. As they are all equals, it's just the final say goes to him.

Turning his focus back to the fight he nods at Honeybee to begin attacking Oblivio.

"Alright, me and you are going to try and distract Oblivio away from what Honeybee is trying to do."

"Like when some person tricked me and this other person into abandoning our post, which I think was a castle..."

Adrien nods, but makes a mental note to when Marmora's memory is restored to a long chat with him about what he said with the rest of the Team. As his inputs seem really odd…

"Quiznack! Look out!" Marmora yells as he tackles Adrien to the ground as a purple laser beam passes through where they once were standing. Quiznack? What sort of expression is that? Adrien thinks as they continue to move forward to Oblivio.

"Hey, you could have really hurt someone with that clawful laser of yours!" He shouts thinking this could be their distraction.

"Really? We hadn't noticed, but we have been feeling awfully forgetful lately." Oblivio replies, lifting their cannon arm.

"I say Vol, you say Tron! Vol!" Marmora shouts.

"What are you doing?" He whisper hisses into Marmora's ear. "I think that phrase confused me before somewhere, so I was hoping for it to confuse Oblivio." His tiger themed partner replies. Adrien facepalms himself, no way that's going…

"Voltron? What is this Voltron? We do not understand what you mean? And what do you mean by 'I say Vol and you say.."

"Tron!"

He looks at Marmora in disbelief it worked and at that moment Honeybee comes from behind and "Venom!" Which paralyses the akuma stiff.

Rouge Renarde comes out of the locker room, "You did it! That was amazing, now it's time to purify the akuma by destroying the butterfly."

"Thanks."

Marmora simply punches the cannon arm and the cannon falls off, revealing an akuma. Adrien yells, "Cataclysm!" And grabs the akuma in his hand, making the butterfly turn to ash. He wishes he didn't have to destroy the butterflies, but without Ladybug they could not be purified in the old way.

Then Marmora clutches his head for a while and after that looks up and asks, "What happened?"

"We saved the day!"

Suddenly cheering can be heard from all the students who watched the spectacle. Adrien honestly forgot that they were there, as he was focusing on the akuma. Aware that he is going to change back he bid Adieu to the rest of his teammates, Rouge and Honeybee following suit.

While Alya and Nino sit in the midst confused.

That Evening:

"Master Fu, I heard some weird things come from Marmora's mouth while he was temporarily given amnesia due an akuma today at my school."

Master Fu closes his eyes in thought.

"Tell me all about it and perhaps I can glean the answers for myself. I am glad that I am not yet retired as it gives me opportunities like this to still help you in some way."

Adrien nods, still grateful that Master Fu accepted his request of delaying his retirement for later. Then he goes on to tell Master Fu what happened.

Author's Note: Alright another chapter is done. The next mini arc is going to be the Voltron show starting with the next chapter as I want to explore that episode more with Voltron, especially considering Marinette was a director for her class's film. So hopefully I can write that soon so you guys don't have to wait forever. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter:)
