Prologue
Disclaimer - (Cause fanfiction is tricky ground and I hope not to offend the creator of the original story and get sued)
I do not own "The Beginning After The End", it belongs to its original creator TurtleMe. This is only a fanfiction that I was inspired to write by the original work. Please support the official release. Most of the media - such as the art and illustrations, gifs, video's, etc. used in this fanfiction - are from the web. Thus, most of them aren't mine (because I really, really can't draw) unless mentioned. To fit the story, images are also edited by various apps and websites. So they aren't mine, just edited. I get much of the text, especially the fight scenes and thought, aside from my oc's, from the original novel, which can be found on Library Novel. Still, support the official release.
Also if you own a picture or Video that I found online, and you either want your name added, or me to take it down. Please contact me and we can talk it out. P.s. I also ask that you do not copy my work and publish it onto any other website.
If you're gonna use my idea, please ask me (If you ask nicely, I for sure, will agree). If I don't contact you within a week, then just assume I'm giving you the all clear and go for it. Just remember to credit me.
I will be writing out scenes even if my Oc isn't in them. As long as she's mentioned, or influencing the characters in some way. Or maybe because it influences the story. This may seem a bit annoying. But that's just how I write. I like to embed my characters into the story line. Because of this, most of the dialogue/scenes will come from the original work.
The Asura's have many secrets. One of them being that all Dragons have mates - someone their inner dragon instantly recognises as theirs. Medea is the half-breed, illegitimate daughter of Kezeas Indrath, leader of the Indrath clan.
She was named after the enchantress Medea, the daughter of the king of Colchis. The woman who helped Jason of the Leader of the Argonauts obtain the Golden Fleece and later became his wife. She was the granddaughter of the sun god, Helios and was blessed with the gift of the prophecy. The woman had a natural talent for brewing potions. And she used all her abilities to help her love.
Despite all she did to help him, all Medea got in return was betrayal.
From a young age, Medea grew up learning all about her name-sake, and how well she fit it.
Medea always took this as a complement, until she discovered how the princess story truly ended.
On that day, Medea made herself a promise, she wouldn't fall in love. She would use all her power and resist the temptation love with being, and eliminate the risk of betrayal entirely.
So far, Medea has done an excellent job of keeping the promise she made to herself,
but will she be able to resist the temptation and pull of the made bond?
And her inner dragon, Noelle, definitely wasn't doing her any favors!
"Haven't you ever heard the story of Medea?" The girl asked, stopping and turning around to face Arthur.
"She was an enchantress who helped Jason, leader of the Argonauts, obtain the Golden Fleece; and then become his wife. She was the granddaughter of the sun god Helios and had the gift of prophecy just like you." Arthur answered, summarising the story from what elder Myre had told him.
"That's right, Myre probably told you. But what she probably left out is that after she bore him a son, Jason chose to marry another princess." Medea added, struggling to speak from the lump growing in her throat. "I do have the gift of prophecy and I do have a natural talent for potions, and as well as magic that feels bottomless as the sea." Medea chuckled awkwardly, trying to stop her tears. Realizing she was running out of time before her water works hit, she sped up. "I don't wanna find out how else I resemble my name sake. I don't wanna take that risk with love. Not when that love... involves you."
She turned around and began to walk away. But was brought to an abrupt halt when Arthur grabbed her wrist and pulled her close. He wrapped one of his arms around her chest, and another against her waist, caging her against him. "Meda", Arthur began gently, feeling her heart beating like the wings of a hummingbird through his arms. "You may resemble your name sake. But don't forget. My name is not Jason. It's Arthur."
[I do care for you.
So let me give you a piece of advice.
Don't ever try to make me choose between you, or her.
Hell, if it was everything, or her?
I. Will. Always. Choose. Her.]
Hello ladies and germs,
How've you guys been?
Good and staying safe, I'm hoping.
So what do you guys think of the Prologue?
Would you believe me if I told you that I came up with after watching a youtube video?
Well, I did.
I got this after watching a summary of Medea's story from Overly Sarcastic Productions, "Miscellaneous Myths: Medea". I will explain the myth a bit in the story, but if you guys want some background knowledge going into the story, and wanna be able to pick up some foreshadowing, I suggest watching the video.
(and no, I'm not being paid to promote, I just love their channel because of how generally funny and knowledgeable their videos are, and love it even more now, because it helped me come up with an actual idea for a ship I've been wanting to write for a while now: Arthur x an Indrath oc)
