Hey all its been a while but the next chapter for this will be much longer depending on my current situation with family issues. So thanks for those being patient. Anyway let's continue the story! Also sorry that this chapter took forever. Hopefully the next chapters wont take too long.

Red and his pokemon decide to stay at the Saffron Pokemon Center for a day or two before fighting Sabrina.

Nouva sat against one of the beds deep in thought. "What do I do?" He growled, putting his hand to the cheek Kirin kissed. He let out a sigh and Voltaro came walking in, interrupting Nouva's thoughts.

"Heyo! Quina and I are going to go hang out while the girls do their thing! You want in?"

Nouva just shook his head.

Voltaro sighed "Look, if it's about the whole smooching on the cheek, then you need to go and talk to Kirin." Nouva immediately blushed, face turning red. Voltaro noticed and tried to stay serious. "Look, You need to ask her on a date!"

Nouva started sweating and nervously shot back "B-but she doesn't like me like that! Does she?"

Voltaro facepalmed. "Bro, she literally kissed you on the cheek!"

Nouva tried to deny "What if it was just a kind gesture!?"

"Oh my god, you are so oblivious! Dude! She likes... I-I mean trust me, I think she likes you. We all do. Just go for it!" He said, sighing in relief that he didn't tell Nouva flat out that Kirin liked him.

"Whatever." The Charizard growled, before letting out another sigh.

Quina then spoke up "Well Nouva, you might want to listen to Voltaro, he's actually being serious for once."

Nouva gasped in surprise. "Shit!" He looked around to find Quina sitting outside- only able to see his stomach from the window.

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. You like her do you not?" The snorlax asked.

Nouva just sat there tapping his claws against his legs as he began to sweat. After a few moments, he finally gave in. "Y-yeah" He muttered with a low growl, only frowning as his blush intensified.

Quina chuckled. "Love is nothing to be embarrassed about. Go to her Nouva and bestow your feelings upon her."

Nouva cringed, "Not when you say it like that."

Voltaro decided to get Nouva to give in by doing what he did best... annoy the ever-living shit out of him.

"Aww is Nouva too scared of a female?" He grinned.

Nouva looked at him but remained stoic. "Am not."

Voltaro grinned even more. 'Maybe this will force him to ask her'. He continued, "He's afraid of hand holding, Kissing, MATING!"

Nouva gritted his teeth and muttered "You're gonna keep doing this till I ask her aren't you?"

Voltaro nodded, a cheeky grin plastered onto his face.

Nouva just hid his face. "Why am I feeling this way over her? Maybe I am actually in love with her…" He did care for her and liked hanging with her since she never judged him. When she kissed him, he felt something strange... pulling at his stomach, almost as if there were butterfrees in there. He had many thoughts about her without warning. 'She's always on my mind now... that damn kiss." He muttered under his breath, holding his cheek. He never really felt anything until that point and he thought maybe he would try a relationship. "Fine, I'll do it" He finally gave in.

Voltaro did a victory dance. "Let's gooooo! My boi is gonna ask his crush out!"

...

"YES!" Kirin exclaimed in excitement.

"I see you really like him." Lazuli said. "Sorry I rubbed you the wrong way when I met him."

"It's alright, I guess, but now I'm scared. I kissed him on the cheek. He hasn't been the same since. You think I might have rushed it? It was i-in the heat o-of the moment and-"

Queenie put her hand on her back, stopping her rambling. "It's fine, I just think Nouva is shocked, is all."

Kirin pouted. "I kinda wish I would've went for his lips."

"Wellllll you could…" Lazuli grinned widely. "If you ask him on a date!"

Kirin shivered nervously. "B-but Nouva isn't the kind of guy for romance stuff!"

"Oh trust me he is... that kiss proved it. You saw him moping about it. He's just figuring out his feelings about you. Or maybe you sparked something in him... something different!"

Queenie nodded "Absolutely!" She then smiled warmheartedly. "Look at it this way, Nouva is definitely feeling something for you. He hugged you, I never thought he would make contact with anyone else. He pushes me and Voltaro off when we try to hug him. Go to him, dear."

"I g-guess I will... but first you guys have to give me some leverage here. What would I say to him?"

"My dearest Nouva, my knight in shining armor. Sweep me off of my... " Lazuli stopped, remembering that Kirin doesn't even have feet. She coughed and resumed "Tail!"

Kirin covered her face with her tail. "This is painful to watch" She muttered while turning way. "I don't even say that!"

Queenie surprisingly acted like Voltaro. "I'm pretty sure you said that before!"

Kirin froze and then regained herself and pouted. "I didn't say it like Lazuli did!"

They all laughed.

"Seriously though, that doofus has gone and stolen your heart..."

Kirin closed her eyes... "Well, could you blame me? It's just as I said to you guys before. He's there for me, he's my knight in shining-" She deadpanned at Queenie and Lazuli as they smugly eyed Kirin who waved them off with her tail.

Before anyone could say anything, they heard footsteps, prompting them all to turn and see Nouva and the guys walking towards them. When everyone made eye contact with one another, Kirin and Nouva's eyes immediately found their way to each other, blushes lighting up their faces.

"H-hey Kirin."

Kirin responds back "N-Nouva! W-What's up?"

Everyone gave each other a look and decided to leave the two alone.

After a few moments of awkward silence, Kirin finally decided to speak up. "U-um, thanks for making me feel better the other day."

Nouva smiled shakily. "Don't worry about it. I didn't like seeing you upset." Kirin returned the smile, watching as Nouva crossed his arms- only for her smile to fall when she noticed he was trembling.

"Nouva, are you alright?" She asked, slithering up to her companion.

"I-I'm fine! What makes you say that?" He asked, a surprised look on his face.

"You're shaking."

Nouva looked down at his arms. "Oh. Whoops."

"Come on, Nouva, you know you can talk to me, right?" Kirin asked. "After all you've done for me, the least I could do is help you in return."

The charizard sighed softly. "Alright, alright, the truth is that I-I have something to ask you, Kirin."

She started wagging her tail a bit, "Well, what is it, Nouva?" she says, her face lighting up.

Nouva gulped nervously. "Uh, well... I was wondering if..."

It went on like that for a minute or so, Nouva stuttering out random sentences but never quite getting to the point.

"You know," Kirin's voice quickly brought Nouva's mumbling to a full stop. "Sometimes, it helps if you just say it all in one go without thinking about it."

Nouva stared at her for a second or so, before nodding. Inhaling sharply, he closed his eyes. "Kirin, do you wanna go out on a date!?" He blurted out, clamping his muzzle shut with his hands while sweating profusely.

Kirin grinned brightly. "Of course Nouva! I'd love to!"

Nouva let out a breath of relief, his eyes fluttering open. "Thank Arceus- I was scared you'd say no." He chuckled.

"Why would I say no!? I'm so excited!" Kirin beamed. "When should we do it?"

"I guess we can go out later today," Nouva shrugged.

Kirin hugged him and swiftly danced away from him. "I can't wait! See you later!" She called out.

Nouva blushed and grinned as he watched her walk away. "I feel... excited as well!"

...

"Yoooo you got a date!? Atta boy!" Voltaro roared in victory.

"Do you have to be so loud about it?"

Voltaro just grinned widely. "C'mon we are pumped for ya!" He said handing him a cologne bottle.

"What is this?" Nouva raised an eyebrow.

Voltaro wagged a finger "This is cologne, Kirin will go crazy if you wear it. She will be all over you!"

Nouva rolled his eyes not believing him. "Quina?" He asked.

As if Quina knew what Nouva was asking he responded "Yes, what he says is true to an extent. Ladies love cologne, but not too much."

Nouva studied the bottle for a sec. "How do I use it?"

Voltaro then showed Nouva the rest of his bottles. "Before you do that, I got some other scents. That one you have is the Fire Red" He looked at the other bottles. "We got Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald-"

Nouva growled "Where did you get all of these?"

"I found them."

"He stole them from a Pokecenter." Quina chipped in.

"I stole them from a Pokecenter." He quickly admitted

Nouva faceplamed. "You really need to get it together."

"This is not about me! This is about you smelling nice for your mate!" He pointed

"She's not my mate!"

"Yet!" Quina proudly chuckled.

Nouva rolled his eyes. "Whatever, let me at least smell these."

He began smelling them all and finally got around to Red Scent. He smelled it and grinned "I'll use this one!" He sprayed it on his neck and head as instructed by Voltaro who held a smug grin. He jolted at the sound of Red's voice.

"I see someone's getting ready for something." He then grinned "Is it Kirin?"

Nouva blushed, turning away from his trainer.

"Hey buddy, It's fine. You have nothing to be embarrassed about. To be honest I never thought you would get so flustered." He laughed. "Just be yourself and you will do fine!"

Nouva gave a slight relieved smile at his trainers' reassuring words.

"Alright!" Nouva said to himself "I can do this!" He then ran out of the room.

Red looked at all the cologne bottles. "Where did all these come from?" He looks at Voltaro who whistled. Red facepalmed and sighed "For fuck's sake Voltaro…"

...

"Guys! He asked me out! I'm so excited and nervous!" Kirin wagged her tail ecstatically.

Queenie tried to calm her down "Calm down sweetie, I know you are happy but don't be too enthusiastic. Keep calm and stay collected."

Lazuli chuckled. "Try and look sexy for him too~"

Kirin blushed. "It's literally the first date! We are not going to do... THAT!" She huffed.

Lazuli shrugged her front flippers. "I said look sexy, not do it"

Queenie, annoyed, clenched her fist and struck Lazuli in the head. "I swear you are just like Voltaro!"

"What the hell?!" Lazuli growled.

Queenie glared. "A first date should be romantic and not provocative!"

"Well excuse me! She took it the wrong way... I was saying look good for him at least."

"Well..." Queenie sighed. "We need to make you look cute" She looked towards Lazuli when she said 'cute'

"How, though?"

Queenie eyed her up and down. "I got it!" She slapped her palm. "Use these!" She held out some blue crystal earrings. Kirin looked at them and tilted her head.

"Earrings? Where did you get those?"

"A pokemon gave them to me but I didn't really like him that way. He let me keep them though"

"How will that make me look better?"

Queenie smiled "Trust me sweetheart, he will be flustered even more than he is around you. Now let me put them on your fluffy wing things?" She eyed.

After a small struggle, Queenie finally managed to put the earrings on Kirin. "Come on girl! Give us a twirl!" Lazuli hollered excitedly.

She gave a twirl and her earrings swayed. "Wow! I like them! Do they look cute!?" Kirin asked.

Lazuli nodded. "They will definitely make him wanna smash-"

Queenie twitched and knocked her out and quickly spoke. "They look wonderful honey, he will be more flustered for sure. Just remember to be yourself, and have fun tonight."

Kirin gave a deep breath and composed herself. "Alright, I'm ready"

Right on cue, Nouva came up to her and she turned, blushing and looking down. His attention wasn't quite on her, though, but instead, it was centered around the unconscious Lapras on the ground. "W-what happened to her?" He gulped nervously.

Queenie waved him off "Don't worry sweetie, I had to take care of a problem. Just go with Kirin on your date. Have fuuun!" She picked up the unconscious Lapras as if it were nothing and walked away.

"Shall we go?" Kirin asked.

"Uh, yeah!" Nouva smiled.

Nouva noticed Kirin's earrings and blushed, 'Why does her wearing those make my heart flutter?'

Kirin noticed the staring and she turned away slightly blushing "Nouva, you're making me blush" She giggled.

"O-oh uh sorry, those earrings look nice on you!"

She felt giddy as he said this. "Thanks! Also-" She sniffed the air. "What's that smell?"

Nouva's face lit up until she said, "It kinda stinks" She then sniffed closer to his chest and she gasped "Is that you?!"

Nouva's face fell and he simply answered "Yeah, damn Voltaro lied to me!" He growled. "He said this shit would smell nice!"

Kirin noticed she hurt his feelings a bit and tried to cheer him up. "Nouva, it's fine! It smells good- just weird."

Nouva tried to cheer up a bit but Kirin kissed him on the cheek again and he immediately hid his face in his scarf, screaming into it. Kirin chuckled at the sight of this.

...

After a while, the two arrived at a lake to see a boat with some oars. Kirin tugged on Nouva's arm. "I-I know you hate the water, but this could be nice and relaxing with the two of us. Can we please?"

Nouva reluctantly agreed. "I guess," He shrugged. Soon they got on the boat and Nouva was rowing them along.

"How do you know how to use those?" She tilted her head in confusion.

Nouva, sweating, admitted "I, uh, saw some couple doing it while sitting against a tree. I just happened to notice the guy using them."

Kirin smiled and sighed. "This is so nice, I always wanted to just get on a boat surrounded by pretty scenery."

Nouva muttered. "Well, at least you are enjoying it, I'm nervous as hell right now."

Kirin's face saddened. "I know, I thought maybe this would help with your water fear, you know?"

A Magikarp jumped out of the water and startled Nouva, "Shit!" He almost tipped the boat as he freaked out. Kirin immediately wrapped her tail around his hands while trying to stay in the boat. "Nouva! Nouva! It's fine!"

Nouva was breathing a bit heavy and looked Kirin in the eyes.

"Listen to me, Just relax, I wont let you fall into the water... besides you can fly, can't you silly?"

Nouva blushed and huffed. "I-I knew that! I just hate water even if I can fly above it!"

Kirin giggled and they both took a few seconds to realize they were basically still hand holding and she unwrapped her tail from his hands. They sat in a little bit of an awkward silence. "H-hey, uh, sorry for being a mood killer about this whole boat ride thing." Nouva said, feeling guilty.

Kirin placed her tail on his thigh. "Hey, I get why this isn't your thing, like I said I thought I could try and help you at least get a little used to it."

He smiled, "I appreciate it, Kirin, I really do."

They soon see some people on the shore. "Get those pokemon off our damn boat!" One of the guys yelled as another prepared a pokeball.

Nouva grinned. "Well, we best get out of here,'' he said, placing Kirin on his back. He flew off away from the boat, the gust of wind splashing the water and the boat on the two guys.

As he was flying he could feel Kirin's body stiffen and shake. "Hey, are you alright?"

"Y-yeah, I-I'm fine, why d-do you ask?"

Nouva deadpanned. "Well you are literally holding onto my back for dear life and you sure as hell sound nervous.

"D-don't worry about me! Really!" Kirin insisted, hoping Nouva wouldn't push it any further.

It didn't quite work, however. "Are… Are you afraid of heights?"

Kirin looked away in embarrassment but gave in. "Y-yeah" She admitted.

Nouva thought about his fear and hers. 'I'm afraid of water but she's afraid of heights. Interesting'

Kirin clenched her eyes as she felt Nouva return to the ground. Turns out he landed in a different part of the forest. "How about a little walk?" He offered, to which Kirin nodded in agreement.

They both began walking and after a short bit into the walk, Kirin noticed a four leaf clover. "Wow! It's a clover!"

Nouva scratched his head. "Uh, Ok?"

"These little guys bring good luck!"

Nouva, even more bewildered, asked "How the hell do you know that?"

"Well, because it brought me luck!" Kirin grinned.

Nouva tilted his head. "I don't follow."

She flicked him playfully with her tail. "Because it allowed me to be here with you."

Nouva's heart skipped a beat as he tried to keep his composure. "Oh- uh well I guess it is lucky then!"

She giggled, wagging her tail. "You bet."

They continue walking and Nouva can't stop getting flustered while looking at her. 'Damn Nouva, to think you'd fall this hard for anyone.'

Kirin thought to herself. 'Why did I say that! Idiot! What I said was so cheesy'

They then stumbled upon a slope at the end of the trail and decided to do some stargazing since the sun had already set at this point.

"Today was really fun Nouva, thank you."

Nouva looked at her and blushed. "Y-yeah no problem."

They continued to look up and Kirin pointed with her tail. "How many stars do you think there are up there?" she asked.

Nouva shook his head "You really think I'd make an estimated guess?"

She smiled "Well, I think there's maybe more than 10,000"

Nouva deadpans "No shit. There are probably at least a billion."

She eyed him. "I thought you said you weren't gonna make an estimated guess?"

"You got me."

"I just knew you'd have to correct me," Kirin teased.

Nouva just laughed, changing the subject. "You know, I'm glad we went on this date. I never thought I could have a lot of fun hanging out with anyone. I'm glad it was with you. It felt nice to be myself and let loose. To be honest, I shoulda been letting go a lot earlier. So, um, thanks."

"Th-there's no need to thank me!" Kirin's cheeks warmed up as she began blushing. Now was the perfect moment to tell him. "Actually, um, I have something to confess to you."

"Go for it." Nouva said.

"I u-uh, I think I l- Well," She stuttered for a few seconds before giving up. "Dammit!" She cursed herself.

Nouva grinned. "Hey, did you already forget what you told me?" When she blinked in confusion, Nouva took it as his cue to continue. "Sometimes, it helps if you just say it all in one go without thinking about it." He even tried mimicking her voice as well.

Kirin pouted "That's not what I sound like." She frowned, only to realize that she kind of did sound like that. The two of them promptly burst into laughter, a few moments passing between them before it finally died down. Taking a deep breath, Kirin decided to go for it. "Ok, I'm ready... Nouva, what I want to say is that I lo-" She was cut off as she was suddenly grabbed by the tail and slung away.

Nouva got to his feet and caught Kirin before she hit the tree.

"Are you alright!?" He asked.

"Y-yeah!" She grunted in confusion.

They both looked to see a Rhydon stomping towards them.

"What the hell's your problem?!" Nouva growled.

The Rhydon didn't respond, but instead just charged them both Nouva jumped in and tried to land an Iron Tail. The Rhydon grabbed his tail, however, proceeding to repeatedly slam Nouva into the ground.

Kirin hit the Rhydon with Surf, careful to make sure it only hit him and not Nouva. It worked, and the charizard wiped the blood from his mouth as he thanked Kirin.

The Rhydon used rock slide, which Nouva tried to dodge, only to find that the Rhydon was quicker, leaping into the air, grabbing one of the boulders, and slamming it into Nouva's gut. Nouva coughed out blood as he collided with the floor. Before he could recover, the Rhydon landed directly on top of him, repeatedly stomping on his gut with no let up. Kirin wrapped herself around the Rhydon's neck and tried to use ice beam, only to be grabbed by the head and her tail and kneed in the back.

With his leg off of him and instead in Kirin, Nouva used the chance to shuffle away and land a dragon claw directly to the Rock pokemon's face, sending him flying back. "Kirin, you have to get out of here!" He commanded, standing his ground in front of her.

"No! I want to stay and help you!"

The Rhydon got up and roared as he charged. Nouva charged as well, and they both headbutted each other. Nouva ended up taking more damage, getting scratched in the left eye and screaming out in pain, holding his eye with blood streaming down his face.

Kirin started to cry in horror. "Kirin I said go!" He yelled, charging in blindly. He tried to use Flamethrower and it missed The Rhydon, who threw some punches at him. Somehow, Nouva was able to just barely dodge, grabbing the Rhydon by the face and launching both of them forward into multiple trees; gliding while leaving holes in them before they fell over, scaring multiple wild pokemon. Even when Nouva's scarf was caught on a tree, he was too into the battle to notice. The Rhydon dug his foot in the ground to stop the movement and elbowed Nouva's head into the ground with great force.

Kirin caught up to them and used ice beam, which was blocked by rock slide. Kirin started to doubt herself, but quickly reassured herself because of Nouva. She slithers between the Rhydon's legs and to its tail, wrapping her own around it using an ice beam at point blank. It yelped in pain but slammed its tail into the ground, crushing Kirin about 3 times before she released her grip.

Seeing the Rhydon about to kick Kirin, Nouva tried to lift him up into the air. The Rhydon slammed his head back into Nouva's who let him go. He tried to use horn drill, but Nouva was unable to fully get out of the way due to the damage, taking the horn in his right shoulder as his arm fell limp, broken and with blood pouring out of it.

He roared in pain and during this the Rhydon rushed him and throat chopped him, sending Nouva flying onto his back. Nouva clenched his right arm and was huffing badly with his body all bruised up; he felt his vision fading.

Kirin then angrily started throwing her body towards the rock pokemon and slapping him with her tail as if she was a whip.

Nouva noticed this and called out, "You don't have to do this!" he cried, clutching his arm as he hissed in pain. "Just run while you can!"

"I'm not just gonna leave you here!" Kirin swung her tail in a circle, creating a wave of water and sending it flying toward the Rhydon. "After everything you've done for me, you're always saving me and I hardly do anything for you!"

"You don't have to!" Nouva shook his head, trying to get up only to find himself crashing to the ground. "It doesn't bother me!"

"It bothers me!" Kirin slithered out of the way of one of the Rhydon's oncoming attacks, snaking her way up its side and coiling around it tightly. "I want to repay you!"

"Why?!"

"Because I love you!" She shrieked, throwing her head back. Suddenly, her entire body started glowing. Nouva could only watch in awe as she slowly morphed into a larger form, sprouting arms and legs and wings, the latter of which were flapping like mad as she hauled the Rhydon up into the air. When the newly evolved Dragonite stopped glowing, she slammed the pokemon down into the ground, letting out an incredible roar.

"You bastard!" She growled, picking up the Rhydon by the horn and slamming its face into the ground. She grinded the Rhydon across the ground so fast and with such force that she caused friction burn on the side of the Rhydon's face. She puffed her nose, shrieking while throwing the Rhydon. The Rhydon flew forward, but before it even landed the ground, she punched it in the back. As the Rhydon screamed out in pain she grabbed both of its arms and pulled them towards her, ramming her knee into its back, pressing further and further.

Nouva watched as he thought she was literally about to rip its arms off. "K-Kirin!" He coughs. "T-that's enough!"

Kirin glared at him but then realized he was right. She simply pushed the Rhydon away, who stared her down and quickly fled after seeing the ferocity in her eyes. She calmed down once she spotted Nouva barely clinging on as he stood.

She quickly flew to him. "Nouva!"

"Good Job Kirin" He smiled weakly, before he fell on her.

She tried to get him to respond, but to no avail. "Nouva! Nouva!" She started crying, putting him on her back. Although she didn't really know how to fly yet, it didn't stop her from running as fast as she could back to Saffron City.
