I'm sorry for taking so long to update. I started with this chapter earlier this year but I got caught up with other things. I'll try to get the next chapter out sooner!
Fluff found himself in a quiet room, sitting on an examination table, covered in wounds and bruises.
He looked at his surroundings to take his mind off the pain. After Tuff took over the hospital, it was now painted in warmer, brighter colors. It was also more decorated to suit Tuff's more "lively" taste.
The yarn king suddenly felt something run down his arm. Instinctively he diverted his attention to whatever it may be.
He spotted some sort of red liquid dripping from one of his gaping wounds. He didn't question it too much. But for some reason he wondered what it tasted like? He was that curious... He even attempted to take a lick- But before he could Tuff himself swooped in, grabbing his arm, preventing him from doing so.
"Woah there little man!" Tuff cried. "Blood is supposed to stay in your veins and out of your mouth."
Fluff looked up at his injured arm and then at Tuff. "Blood?" Fluff inquired. Tuff tried to hold in his laughter before letting go of his arm.
"There's no blood in your dimension?" Tuff asked.
"Hmmm... I… Guess not..." Fluff answered.
"Then what provides oxygen in your body over there? What transports nutrients to your lungs and tissues? What carries waste products to your kidneys? "
Fluff looked at Tuff. Absolutely dumbfounded by what he had just been asked.
"All those things are inside of you here? Is that why my body feels so heavy right now?" Fluff asked putting his hands on what was assumed to be his hips.
Tuff still tried to hold in his laughter. "No worries majesty! I have something that'll answer ALL your body and nature related questions! But first we gotta clean up those owies of yours! Fresh wounds are open doors for germs and other nasties!"
"Ok... That's nice... Thank you..." Fluff wasn't sure how to feel about Tuff speaking to him as if he were a child. That stunt he pulled must have made him look REALLY stupid didn't it? His face heated up from the rising embarrassment. Was it that bad? He took a deep breath and reassured himself internally...
"First experiences are never perfect. Nothing is ever perfect. But EVERYTHING always gets better."
Fluff smiled at the new found confidence he achieved... He then winced at the feeling of what Tuff was using to clean his injuries.
"It stings doesn't it? Don't worry pal! That means it's working." Tuff assured with a smile. Once Tuff was done he put away the cleansing equipment... And bent down to grab something else.
Fluff sensed something he didn't like and grew nervous.
"Now I'll be honest this may hurt a little bit but it'll be over quickly, ok?" Tuff said, still searching for the tool.
"Hurt? I thought this was a place of healing!" Fluff said bewildered.
"Don't worry sire! Sometimes hurting for just a little bit is a part of staying healthy, or recovering!" Tuff assured, finally finding what he was looking for... Approaching Fluff with it... The yarn king's eyes shrank and small thin hoops formed around the shrunken pupils...
Said patient's friends were waiting outside for his treatment to round up-
Then a cry for help was heard from the room followed by Fluff rushing out and hiding behind Dedede in fear.
"HE STABBED ME WITH THAT NEEDLE THINGY!" Fluff whimpered.
Kirby giggled at his reaction. "Fluffy, needle thingy good!"
"It is?" Fluff asked shakily.
"Indeed. Relax sire. It was merely a vaccine. It helps you to fight against preventable diseases." Meta knight comforted, patting Fluff on his side as he still clung to Dedede's robe in fear.
Tuff walked out of the room laughing hysterically.
"Oh ancients, that was one of the best reactions I've gotten out of any patient so far! Man I love this guy! Hope he stays for a while!"
Fluff's felt embarrassed but he still faked a smile to try to get his spirit up a little, still hiding behind Dedede as he did.
Tuff was still smiling as he wiped his tears. The smile then faded as he looked at the yarn king's reddened face.
"Hey there majesty". He said walking to Fluff bending down to his height
"I'm sorry for making ya uncomfortable. I'm just jokin' around!" Tuff assured softly.
Dedede joined in with the reassurance. "That's right! Tuff ain't bullyin' ya. Well, at least he don't mean tah. He talks like that tah EVERYONE. Especially friends."
With restored confidence Fluff then stopped hiding behind dedede and walked up to Tuff upon hearing that.
"So... You don't think I'm childish?" Fluff inquired cautiously.
"Of course not! Who am I to baby a KING around? Everyone knows I'M the childish dude around here!" Tuff declared jokingly.
Fluff smiled as he felt a twinge of embarrassment again. Not because he felt he was still being treated like a child, but because he misinterpreted how Tuff was treating him in the first place. Then he smiled warmly upon realizing that Tuff already saw him as a friend. A new ally on the first day already? Perhaps this wasn't so bad after all.
"Oh, I almost forgot!" Tuff said, taking a large book out of a nearby drawer and handed it to Fluff, who read the title before looking up at Tuff. Feeling a bit confused.
"Dreamland science?" Fluff asked
"Yep. And it's yours to keep. 'Science' seems like something you need to study the most at the moment. Just to let you know how things work around here."
Fluff smiled at Tuff before he examined the book just like how he did with Kirby when they first reunited. Although he was a little less gentle. There were red blood cells on the cover which Fluff interpreted as 'Weird red spherical things with dents in them.' He proceeded to turn it from side to side, up and down, upside down, right side up... It looked and felt hard. Not like the fluffy books in his dimension. It didn't feel like the hard plastic of the beads either-
"Hey uh majesty, pal, you ok?"
The doctor had interrupted his train of thought once more...
Fluff realized he had just been staring blankly at this object for almost 3 minutes with the others giving concerned glances. He couldn't help but zone out though…Everything around him was very alien to him right now. But not in the worst way imaginable.
"Yeah I'm fine." Fluff answered calmly. "Just checking this out.."
"Just uh.. Take it easy, ok?" Tuff advised
Fluff nodded. A little vigorously though..
"Yes I'm fine there's no need to worry…" He mumbled still looking at the book as he walked towards the exit. It was a miracle that he didn't bump into anything.
"And watch where you're going!" Tuff called out as Fluff got further away from him.
"Yeah, yeah." Fluff said dismissively waving his arm in reassurance.
After that, the crew said their goodbyes and left Tuff to attend to his other duties ...
Angie saw the whole thing perched on a high shelf in the waiting room with a smug, irritating grin. She flew beside Fluff, her face still holding the expression.
"Bet you think this place is awful now eh?" She taunted.
"What?" Fluff looked up from the book and blew a dismissive raspberry.
"Nah it wasn't so bad… The vaccine hurt only a lil bit. It would appear that I've discovered that I simply have Trypanophobia…. And that should be completely understandable. Besides, Tuff said once I've taken it I wouldn't have to worry about dying easily."
"Oh ain't that peachy! A needle to the rump is the only way to prevent yourself from dying!" She said sarcastically.
"Yep... But it is what it is." The yarn king responded with a thoughtful look. "This dimension is strange and harsh. It seems to have a cruel sense of humor too..." one side of his mouth curled into a smile. "I like it."
"Ughhh you're just like your mother. You're both so WEIRD!" Angie protested.
Fluff chuckled at the sight of getting on her nerves. He couldn't help but see this as a competition of some sorts. And Fluff loved a good competition…
Once they reached the exit, they hoped they could go on their peaceful journey to find the fish couple. But unfortunately the town was flooded with paparazzi…
The crew blocked their eyes from the flashing lights of the cameras.
The news reporters rambled their questions and the journalist got ready to take notes down.
The poor yarn king had microphones pushed to his face.
"MAJESTY WHAT HAS IT BEEN LIKE LIVING IN THIS DIMENSION!?"
"Oh, um... I just got here but so far-"
"DO YOU PLAN TO STAY HERE FOR A LONG TIME!?"
"ah - I… Well yes I hope to, but-"
"DO YOU FEEL HOME SICK!?"
"Well I mean not really, but-"
"HOW DIFFERENT ARE THINGS FOR YOU THERE!?"
"It's actually really different here! We don't have-"
"ARE YOU MARRIED OR DID YOU SECRETLY PLAN TO CHOOSE A QUEEN HERE?"
Question after question rolled in. Each more absurd than the last. Hordes of them trying to get their answer. He never heard the end of it nor did he know how to take the time to answer any of them because they were just going so fast.
It seems he had already garnered a fanbase as well. Quite quickly I might add.. It was also just as intoxicating and overwhelming as his 'Interviewers.'
"Oh my gosh, is that the new King of Patchland!?" One of the Cappies in the crowd cried.
"He's more handsome than I thought he'd be! Reminds me of Princess Rona! What's up with Royal folks from other planets and dimensions always being such cuties?" One gushed.
"Is he single?" Another asked.
"Hope he chooses me as his queen!" One swooned.
Prince Fluff gave a wide, toothy, sheepish smile and simply waved because it was the polite thing to do. He felt new emotions he'd never felt before, and he didn't like how it always caused his cheeks to feel like they were on fire.
Dedede's face wrinkled in disgust. "Blast! Shoulda known this would happen! Cappies are freakeh gossipers."
"Once again highness, you are correct…" Meta knight added. "But I'm afraid we cannot blame them, as Cappy town rarely gets well mannered visitors as fascinating as this. Hence why gossip spreads so quickly…"
The chatter ensued and the crew got more and more frustrated.
"BE QUITE!" Dedede yelled angrily. "GET OUTTA HERE! SHOOO!"
Even the king's orders were ignored and drowned out by the crowd.
Annoyed by this, Kirby proceeded to inhale the mic held by the reporter closest to him…
Gaining the mike ability…
Oh no...
Fluff had never seen this before. Kirby acquiring this ability was so fascinating to him that he was too awestruck to have heard the warning Meta knight had given as he yelled out to everyone to get down and cover their ears as Kirby began to 'sing'.
Everyone was blasted by the puffball's powerful voice. It was as if the whole world shook with every note he sang. Fluff covered his ears instinctively but that didn't stop him from hearing it. Then he realized this was his chance to escape from the crowd of cappies.
"Guys we can get out now!" Fluff cried. Kirby still continued to sing which made Fluff's idea fall upon deaf ears. Literally.
He sighed before deciding to grab Kirby by the arm and proceed with getting away. This not only stopped Kirby's singing but provided the chance for the escape. Leaving the crowd with ringing ears and painful headaches.
The crew had made it back to the path which led them to where the fish couple were. The day had barely begun but somehow all of them, even the sturdy Meta knight, felt run down...
"Oh ancients…' Angie groaned in her mind. "The stories about this being a happy little land are all LIES! That experience must convince his majesty that this place is terrible now… Won't it?"
Even the three Dreamlandians had to admit… That was not the proudest moment they've had in their world. They had hoped their newly visiting friend wouldn't want to leave because of this...
"That... was…" Fluff began quietly..
Angie's eyes dilated with hope and excitement and Dedede shook slightly in fear whilst waiting for him to finish the sentence with-
"AWESOME!" He finished with a yell.
"Yeah that's what I- WAIT WHAT?" Angie said bewildered
Meta knight and Dedede sighed in relief.. letting the tension and nervousness pour out of them
"Kirby, you. Are. INCREDIBLE!" Fluff announced as he ran towards the Puffball and proceeded to carry him, tossing him up and catching him like a parent would playing with their child. As he did so Kirby let out loud, joy-filled laughter.
"Is that what you can do in this dimension? It's so cool!"
"Are you kidding me? That was so reckless! The buildings could have collapsed! Someone could have been killed!" Angie Scolded.
"Madam." A voice said from behind the tiny angel to which she yelled at in shock.
She was relieved to see that it was just Meta knight but then that relief turned to rage.
"STOP SNEAKING UP ON PEOPLE! STICK TO USING YOUR STEALTH FOR THINGS THAT ACTUALLY NEED THEM!"
The veteran knight simply stood there. Unfazed by her outburst.
"I Apologize for my sudden pop ups madam. I also apologize for Kirby's… 'Performance'. He is still young and learning to control his strange powers."
"STILL YOUNG? IT'S BEEN 10 YEARS! He should have learned SOMETHING by now!" She nearly spat.
"Angie." An assertive voice called out from below. This startled her. Again.
She looked down to see it was Fluff.
"WHAT!?" She snapped. Getting tired of being called at unexpectedly.
"Calm down." He said firmly.
His brows were furrowed and as firm as his voice but his eyes were pleading with her. He held the smaller puffball closer to him as he fidgeted and yawning in his arms…
The sight caused Angie to simmer down.
"Aww…I'm … I'm sorry guys. I've just been really stressed out. This place is just so… Dangerous. It's so easy for someone's life to be cut short here and I just want to prevent that…"
The yarn king sighed heavily. "We can take care of ourselves Angie. I can take care of myself. I'm not a baby anymore. HECK Kirby's still a baby and you've seen what he can do, haven't you?"
"But the- The fall-" she stuttered.
"Yes Angie. I remember that. Thank you for reminding me." He said sarcastically
"Besides it wasn't so bad. Honest mistake. I've not only learned my lesson but I'm fine now! See?"
Fluff put Kirby down to show off his bandaged wounds. Angie gave a look of uncertainty.
However Fluff couldn't do blame her… He was very reckless earlier. And it DID seem like it was easier to die here... This dimension had already presented many challenges… Something much worse could happen… Then an idea beamed into his mind again.
"How about this… Instead of a competition, how about a deal? If something goes horribly wrong we can go back to Patchland. If I'm able to adapt to this place and keep myself safe, we're staying as long as I want to. Does that sound good?"
Angie thought for a moment and closed her eyes. The part where he said they might go back home was the only part she wanted to acknowledge. She guessed it was a good enough deal. All she hoped was that the said "horribly wrong" event didn't result in Fluff being injured or worse, killed…
"Alright majesty. I accept. But please for the love of ancients, stay safe…" she said.
"Yeah of course!" Fluff said giddily.
"Yeees…" He whispered as he pumped his fist triumphantly like a child whose parents said they would buy them an expensive toy. "I won't let you down buddy! Promise!"
Angie smiled a little bit and shook her head. This is definitely a boy trapped in a man's body…
Dedede yawned. Closing his eyes. "Is it settled then?! Can we go now?" He asked impatiently.
He then opened his eyes. Surprised to see the others way ahead of him.
"AYE! NOT SO FAST MAH FEET HURT!" He said running after them.
"The exercise is good for you." Meta knight chuckled.
The crew had FINALLY made it to the fish couple's home. But where could they be?
Kirby walked by the shore. Looking for them. Inspecting the water and marine life.
Luckily the folks they were looking for popped RIGHT out of the water.
"HELLO EVERYONE!" Kine and Mine both said simultaneously. They appeared to be incredibly happy to see them.
Shocked by their entrance, Kirby squeaked and stumbled backwards. Falling on his rump….
"Wow… Talking fish… Dreamland has it all." Fluff muttered, diverting his attention to the fallen puffball.
"You alright Kirbs?"
"Yeh! Kaabii ok!" The young one assured.
"Sorry guys! As soon as we heard you were coming to see us we got so excited!" Mine squealed.
"How the heck did you know we were comin?" Dedede inquired.
"Well, our rat friends
told our squirrel friends
who told our bird friends,
who told us!" Kine explained.
"Man is EVERY creature here a gossipuh?" Dedede protested.
"Word's gotta go around somehow." Kine chuckled. "Us animals don't have TVs or phones like you do. Even if we did, we might still use the same method… We don't trust screens..." Kine said this before squinting his eyes at Dedede untrustingly. To which Dedede squinted back.
"But enough about that…" Mine said trying to prevent tension from rising . "How about we tell you why we've been so busy! Or rather, SHOW you!"
Mine then took a quick dive. It seemed as though she wanted to collect something…
The others gathered round to see what it could be… Mine then popped out with what looked like a small red orb. She looked at it tenderly whilst cradling it gently. Kine looked at it as well with the same amount of warmth.
They all looked on with surprise mixed with admiration. All except for Fluff…
"That's a strange round bead… Is it valuable?" Fluff asked.
"No! That fishy eggy!" Kirby corrected.
There was a hint of hunger in the pink puff's voice. Kirby's eyes glistened as he drooled a bit...Meta knight instinctively covered the child's mouth before he could even THINK to attempt to inhale the egg.
"Best to be careful Mrs. Fish… The boy will eat anything…" Angie said jokingly.
They all broke out in laughter at Angie's comment as Fluff still stood there dumbfounded.
"So dat's why we ain't heard from ya! I tell ya, kids are a REAL handful." Dedede said.
"I agree..." Meta knight added. "We still have a mouth to feed here right now."
As Meta knight said this, Kirby began to get restless in his arms.
"It's ok guys. You can let Kirby go. We trust him. We know how good he is with eggs. Both for eating AND caring for." Kine assured.
Mine nodded in agreement with the egg still in her fins.
Meta knight let Kirby go, but he knew it wasn't safe to let him wander around while he was hungry. So a bright idea popped up in his mind.
As time passed by all the animal friends were informed about the visitors. So a nice picnic was arranged as the warmest welcome possible! They were sure to have it near the water so the sea creatures could join in as well.
The crew were enjoying the assortment of fruit and vegetables brought by the forest dwellers, followed by some meals made by Kawasaki himself! His cooking isn't as bad as it used to be but it wasn't that much of an improvement. However, average is better than awful…
Everyone chatted away about one thing or another, the past, present and future, how much things have changed over the years and how things used to be. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
Then the friends decided to ask Fluff questions, They had a whole bunch of them. However they weren't as absurd as the reporters'.
He was able to answer them with ease and got to ask questions of his own.
But just when he thought that the Q and A session was done-
'Hey uh your majesty?" A soft voice called out.
Fluff diverted his attention to what seemed to be a small pink octopus of some sort…. With a bow. Sitting next to a yellow one with a sailor hat. She seemed a little worried. Hiding half her face under the table. Come to think of it, these two were the only ones who hadn't introduced themselves yet.
"Yes ma'am? Something wrong?" Fluff asked.
Fluff's tone was intended to be polite and gentle, but his voice was so deep now, that it sounded a little threatening…
The pink octopus hid her face more under the table because of this, but mustered up the courage to speak again.
"Are you… Angry?" She asked.
Fluff gave a look of bewilderment before laughing a little. "No! I'm actually the complete opposite of that right now! What makes you think I'd be mad?"
"It's just that... Your expression, it's... You know.."
Fluff cocked a brow waiting for her to finish her sentence. People talk to him like this when they feel like they were about to say something that would offend him. Since he was royalty, people feared he would punish them mercilessly if they did.
"It's your eyebrows dude." The yellow octopus said bluntly. Impatient with her friend's reluctance. "And that scowl… Ugh." She shuddered a little bit.
"NYUPUN! THAT WAS SO RUDE!" The pink octopus cried in anger.
Everyone on the picnic table and OFF the picnic table were surprised by how quickly her demeanor changed. Even Kirby stopped eating.
Her yellow friend was unphased by this though. "Name's Nyupun by the way. Miss Bipolar over here is Chuchu."
Chuchu huffed and folded her tentacles.
"Nice to meet you both! I completely understand why you'd think I looked upset. But that's just my resting face. Holding a smile as impressive as mine is hard work." Fluff quipped with said smile.
Chuchu giggled at Fluff's remark in a strange manner. One that involved a mix of snorting and gibberish with flushed cheeks. Nyupun didn't like this. It actually creeped her out a bit.
Coo leaned closer to the yarn king. "Those two are quite the handful. They're about your age and they take a while to get used to." The owl informed.
"I heard that." Nyupun said flatly. Not looking up at them whilst poking the food on her plate. She clearly didn't trust Kawasaki's cooking.
Nyupun is calm but couldn't help but be rude at times. She doesn't even know when she comes across that way. And Chuchu would be the kindest soul on popstar if not for her random bursts of anger.
However both are trying to control these flaws the best they can.
"I believe they're fine the way they are." Fluff said warmly.
This caused Nyupun to pause for a moment and look up at him. She then smiled while going back to poking her food. Pretending that was something she would rather be doing.
She didn't know how to say it, but she was thankful for his kindness. Usually her and her best friends' behaviour got them kicked out of special occasions like this.
"Aw thank you Mr. Fluff!" Chuchu piped. "This is the nicest guest of honor party we've ever been to!"
"It's just Fluff ma'am. I'm not married… Yet." Fluff then winked quickly with his one sided smile.
Chuchu let out the same strange laughter that Nyupun hated.
Fluff sensed that their interaction was getting on their yellow friend's nerves, so he changed the subject to something lighter.
"Hey, Mr. Nago? How're your kids? They doing good?"
He got his answer from Shiro though. "Oh They're doing wonderfully!" She beamed.
She took the liberty of answering for Nago, who nodded in agreement.
"They're growing up so fast! They're running around all over the place already!"
Fluff looked at Nago who just kept nodding and smiling. "Not much of a talker are you." He mumbled to himself, resting his cheek on his hand.
"Oh you guys have it EASY!" Kine said. "Your kids'll soon be able to take care of themselves. Our babies need CONSTANT supervision, even after they hatch. It's pretty dangerous down there."
Angie watched and listened while being perched on a palm tree not too far away.
She couldn't help but relate to the soon to be father. This is pretty much the most unsafe dimension she's ever been to, and if there's dimensions that are WORSE than this, then she wouldn't want to investigate.
"But where the baby kitties and eggies even come fwom?" Kirby asked. "They not here befowe and they just appeaw fwom nowheahs!"
Everyone (Except Fluff) shot the pink puff with a weird look. Pitch was struggling not to laugh where he sat, causing his mother to nudge him to keep him quiet.
"Ooooh… Now this just got interesting!" Angie thought deviously.
"Did kabii say somefing wong?"
"No sweetie… Um… I just think you're a bit too young to learn about that sort of thing." Mine said cautiously.
"Whhyyyy?" The child asked while tilting his head.
"Well, Because it's just something only us grown ups have to know. We're the only ones who can do that job." She answered.
"Whhyyyy?" Kirby asked again."
"Good golly…." Mine muttered under her breath. The idea of Kirby being young for a long time seemed fun at first, but there were times where the folks wished he'd just grow up.
Mine turned to the others asking what she should do. Some recommended they could cook up a fib, while others suggested that she should try to distract Kirby from the question altogether.
"I'll tell em'." Fluff said casually.
The others gasped at Fluff's announcement.
"Aw c'mon guys! What's the matter? Child creation's a wonderful process in my dimension!" He reasoned.
Everyone's looks of disgust and confusion turned to curiosity, as they leaned forward to listen.
"Ya see," He started, getting a stick to draw his explanation in the soil.
"When two partners love each other, their love may grow so greatly that it may form a special string of yarn. It's then the couple's responsibility to weave that yarn into what they think their youngster would look like. The string then takes perfect shape. And presto! The kid is born!"
After that he tapped the stick on the soil to indicate that he was finished.
"Yay!" Kirby squealed, before realizing- "But Kabii no made fwom yarn."
"Oh yeah…" Fluff said. "I don't know how you guys are born here though. You'll have to wait till your old enough to know… But you can manage with the Yarn dimension version for now. Sorry buddy."
"Aww." Kirby groaned. The younger puff got off the picnic table's bench and walked off to keep himself busy with something else. The disappointment kinda ruined his appetite… Even Angie felt a little let down.
The others had a brief moment of relief, but then suddenly-
"Alright guys… He's Gone. You can tell me now." The yarn king said calmly with his slightly curled smile.
"Oh no…" Mine began "I don't think-"
"It's ok honey, You don't need to if you don't want to." Kine assured.
"He has a right to know!" Pick commented.
"The lad's more than old enough." Rick added.
"That does not lower the difficulty of explaining it to him, nor does it make it any less embarrassing." Coo countered.
Pitch laughed hysterically falling off the stump he was sitting on as his mother covered her face in shame.
Angie wiggled on her perch. "Oooh getting spicy again." She thought with excitement.
"Alright! Alright! That's enough. I'll do it." Shiro announced.
Nago's eyes widened in horror as he shook his head vigorously in opposition.
But his starry eyed wife seemed more than eager to finally push this aside and get this over with. She was about to tell him but then she looked at Fluff.
He was leaning both his elbows on the table with his cheeks resting on his hands with a little smile.
His eyebrows were huge and intimidating, but underneath them were big brown eyes filled with innocence.
All the eagerness in Shiro faded away. She could no longer bring herself to do it. When she opened her mouth to say something, nothing came out.
"Everyone, settle down." Meta knight commanded. "Majesty, In this dimension that process is a lot more complicated . And It is much less light hearted. It is incredibly hard to break down. I recommend reading about it in the textbook Tuff offered to you."
Fluff looked down. He had sat on the book because he didn't know where else to put it. Fluff let out a brief "Ooooh.." As he got up to remove the book from underneath him. "So that's what this is for!"
Shiro let out a huge sigh of relief. Nago smiled whilst giving a sympathetic look, patting her on the back comfortingly.
"Thank you Sir Meta, you're a lifesaver." Shiro said, breathing deeply to relax herself.
"It is always a pleasure to help as much as I can." He replied. The older warrior was happy with Shiro's gratitude. But he couldn't help but feel like that phrase was a terrible way of describing him. Saving literal lives was a task he wasn't lucky with.
It was beginning to get dark. The crew had been having so much fun that they hadn't realized how much time had passed.
All the animal folk had gone to their respective habitats to rest for the night. And it was about time the non- animals did the same.
Fluff had made a rather cozy looking hammock next to Kirby's bed. The younger puffball was more than happy to let his friend bunk in with him.
But then the penguin king himself bagred in and interrupted the peace. Again.
"Aye! Whaddya think you're doin' here sire?! You're royalty! You gotta stay in the CASTLE and not with common folk! No offence Kerbeh."
"Non takie." Kirby assured.
"It's ok King De." Fluff said. "I like it here! It's-"
"AM SORREH, BUT I AIN'T TAKIN NO FOR AN ANSWER!" Dedede yelled, cutting Fluff off.
He then took Fluff by the arm, and proceeded to drag him out of Kirby's house.
"Hey what about my bag-"
"We'll get the guards tuh get em for ya! All YOU gotta focus on is relaxin!"
All Fluff could do was look on at what he was being dragged away from. He was too tired to do anything else.
"G'night Kirbs…" He said softly.
"Night night." Kirby replied before drifting off.
Despite a few mishaps, Fluff would say his first day was great overall. He got to see, feel and experience so many new things. Who knows what the next day could bring?
