Disclaimer: No I don't own the Harry Potter characters—unfortunately.
CHAPTER ONEIt was a bright, cold morning as Hermione Granger made her way through the barrier onto platform 9-3/4 to border the Hogwarts express which would be taking her back to hogwarts for her seventh and final year. She was very nervous and scared about returning. She didn't want to leave hogwarts after all these years and she didn't want to have to carry out the task she was requested to do. Actually it was more of an order. But she had. It was either carry out the evil deed or die a painful death. She thought if she would ever get herself into that situation she would have chosen death rather than betray her own beliefs. But like they always say: it's easier said than done. She didn't choose death after all because if she had she wouldn't be bordering the the Hogwarts Express. Why should she have to die? She had a life as well as everyone else. She had dreams and ambitions. Her life worth living for. Or was it?
God what have I become?
"Hey Hermione!"
She knew that voice. How could she ever forget it? She swirled around on the spot, searching for the owner of that familar voice she had heard every day for the past six years. That friendly voice always made her feel safe and protected. It was always reassuring and comforting and he was always there was when she needed him. But not so long ago he had failed her without even knowing it. Well how could he have known? But she was still angry at him for not being there when she had needed him most.
Whereas now, the voice made her insides squirm with guilt(and a hint of twisted excitement) knowing what was set in store for him. It was all his fault that she was in this mess... well sort of. If she hadn't been his friend then she wouldn't have been a victim of the evil that survived from his past to this hour.
Then she saw him. Harry was standing by the train surrounded by his friends and the Weasleys, waving Hermione over. His face was beaming with happiness. He nodded his head to the open door leading onto the train as he stepped through it indicating that he was going to wait for her on the train.
She nodded yes in reply while forcing a smile onto her face.
Hermione sighed as she shoved her way through the crowd which kept pushing her back, tugging her hair and stepping on her now blistered feet. Her face was red with annoyance and also anger. She was getting so pissed, she started to get aggressive. She raised her hands to try and literally push the person in front ofher out of the way but not before the person turned around abruptly and walked into her, knocking her to the ground where she landed with a thud on her ass.
"Hey. Are you alright?"
Hermione's lips curled into a smile.
Oh this is going to be fun. This year I'm going to have MY way and my fun.
She let out a low soft laugh. It wasn't any kind of laugh. No. It was cold and full of hatred.
She tilted her head back to stare into eyes of her enemy who had taunted her endlessly.
