A year since Hiccup left Berk in self exile.

The children were eleven years old now.

Hiccup comments "it's been over a year since Berk had a tribe gathering to discuss solutions for dragon raids."

Toothless warblers at him.

Hiccup puts on his armor suit and head to village.

A half an hour later, he arrives at the village by the Chief's house and walk down the steps to the forge to see Gobber busy hammering a dented sword and smiles "hi, Gobber."

Gobber stops hammering a dented sword to see Hiccup in black armor and hugs him "it's great to see you, Iccup."

Hiccup ask "have you had a tribe gathering recently?"

Gobber shakes his head "no unfortunate."

The blow horn rung signaling tribe gathering.

Hiccup comments "I think I'll go make rounds around the village."

(At the port)

Stoick stood at the docks with Magnus and Spitelout and his son, Snotlout.

Chiefs of tribes notice Snotlout instead of Hiccup.

Mogadon curious ask "Stoick? What happen to Hiccup?"

Stoick answers "me and the tribe cast him out because he wasn't a true viking and didn't have physical characteristics of a viking and he snapped.

Wish us to die by dragons and for me to walk out into the forest in winter and freeze to death."

Bertha scowls "Stoick! What the heck is wrong with you?!"

Alvin ask "and this is your heir?"

Spitelout answers "yes."

Astrid approach the dock "uh, dad?"

Magnus turns around to see his daughter.

Snotlout walked upto Astrid and grins "babe, I liked that you came here because I can tell the Chiefs and their heirs that we're courting."

Astrid sighs "let me correct you. I'm engaged already to someone else."

Snotlout gape "your what?! To who?!"

Astrid grins "I like to keep his identity a secret until after I turned twenty."

Dagur looks upto a cliff to see Hiccup in black thing with something on his arm.

Snotlout grabs Astrid by her throat "WHAT THE HECK DO YOU MEAN BY YOUR ENGAGED-OW!"

An arrow hit Snotlout's shoulder.

Astrid backed away from Snotlout and turned around to see where the arrow came from.

Dagur tells them "Up there on the cliff!"

Everyone looks upto the cliff to see Hiccup with a crossbow attached to his left arm out aimed at Snotlout.

Thuggory ask "Hiccup is your fiance?"

Astrid answers "yes for a year now."

Snotlout scowls at Astrid.

Spitelout ask "Magnus?! What's the meaning of this?! Your daughter's only eleven!"

Astrid answers "I ask my father to accept my axe that Hiccup made me for my tenth birthday to be one of my bride price things on his list."

(On the cliff)

Hiccup whispers "she accepted the axe that I made her last year for her birthday as a start of her bride price?"

(The docks)

Dagur yells "COME DOWN HERE HICCUP!"

(The cliff)

Hiccup sighs and walks down the cliff.

Stoick leads the group to the Meade hall.

Spitelout took his son to see Gothi.

Camicazi sat with Thuggory, Dagur, Fishlegs, Ruffnut and Tuffnut, Astrid.

Dagur smirks "so, Astrid? What made you decide to claim Hiccup as your fiance?"

Hiccup walks inside the Meade hall and whispers "maybe I shouldn't show up."

Astrid answers "he said some things and opened my eyes to realize I always liked him because he was sweet and nice and never made me feel less than him.

After he told me that he wouldn't marry me because he didn't need me, but I think it's me who needs him."

Camicazi smirks "if that's true then go claim him" pointing to the door where Hiccup was standing.

Astrid turn to where Camicazi was pointing to see Hiccup and ran to him.

Hiccup puts his arms up in defense.

Astrid tackle Hiccup to the floor.

Hiccup goans "OW."

Astrid apologizes "sorry, Hiccup. I haven't seen you in a year. Please don't disappear on me again."

Magnus sternly says "Astrid."

Astrid gets off Hiccup and helps him up.

Hiccup sighs "I only came here to hear what they discuss and if they were tell visiting tribe about the Night Fury defending your livestock."

Astrid lightly punches Hiccup's left shoulder and says that was for not responding to my letter."

Hiccup curious ask "did you not notice your axe on the kitchen table with a note saying 'ready for you to kill some trees, milady'?"

Astrid shakes her head "no, I didn't see no note just the axe sharpen and polished" and turns to her father "dad? did you take the notes?"

Magnus sighs "yes, because I wanted to focus on training and push Hiccup out until after you turn twenty."

Astrid turns back to Hiccup to see him walking away from them and runs upto to him and grabs his right hand and squeeze a little bit to get his attention and hiss "don't do that again."

Hiccup yelp at his hand being squeezed a little bit.

Mogadon curious ask "so, Stoick? How is your dragon raid problem going? Have you found a solution yet?"

Before Stoick could answer, Spitelout answers "yes, it appears that a Night Fury that was attacking us in raids has started attacking other dragons to protect our livestock."

The Chiefs gape in shock.

Alvin ask "why would a Night Fury defend your livestock?"

Stoick answers "I don't know why this Night Fury would defend our livestock."

Snotlout notice that Astrid and Hiccup were holding hands and shoved them away from each other and wrap his arm around Astrid's waist "don't you ever touch my girl again!"

Hiccup turn to who shove him to see Snotlout wrap his arm around Astrid's waist.

Astrid sees Snotlout wrap his arm around her waist and punch him in the face for him to grab her hand.

He scowls "listen here, you are going to date me because I'm the heir! Now be a good girl an-"

Hiccup pulls out his dagger and holds it at his neck from behind "release her now, Snotlout or I slice your neck open! I'm not the same boy after I exile myself because of how this village turned their back on me. I'm darker now."

Snotlout release Astrid from his hold and she steps away from him and punch him in the face "jerk. I'm engaged to Hiccup, you idiot."

She stands next to Hiccup and takes his right hand to hold.

Bertha scowls "Snotlout, maybe a little around the girls in my tribe and you'll learn to leave girl's that are engaged alone."

Oswald ask "so this Night Fury all of a sudden changed sides?"

Stoick answers "yes and I think it has to do with my son that I betrayed. Ten years ago, when Hiccup was one year old, a Storm Cutter broke into the Haddock house and played with.

I ran in with an axe to defend my wife and son and the dragon's claw nail accidentally cut Hiccup's chin.

Me and Gobber took him to Gothi, our healer and she told us that Hiccup would have a connection with dragons and understand them.

Then she saw darkness in him or something and warned us that Berk's future rest on how we treated Hiccup. He is supposed to end the dragon raids with a dragon" and turns to Hiccup with wide eyes.

Hiccup nervous about them reacting.

Spitelout, Magnus, Snotlout look at Hiccup in shock.

Astrid ask "why are you all looking at Hiccup like that?"

Spitelout answers "Hiccup has a Night Fury as his friend."

Astrid turns to Hiccup and ask "what so special about a Night Fury?"

Magnus answers his daughter's question "Astrid, the Night Fury is the most dangerous dragon because it is midnight blue and invisible at night. It has deadly accuracy, speed unknown, size unknown, no one has seen one and lived.

The unholy offspring of lightening and death. Never engage this dragon, your only chance of survival is pray that it doesn't find you."

Hiccup smirks "and it's a strike class dragon."

Snotlout smirks "I doubt a Night Fury out ranks a Monstrous Nightmare."

Mogadon comments "actually, Snotlout, a Night Fury can challenge titan wing class dragons when forced too and worth as a Whispering Death and Screaming Death dragons."

Snotlout turns to Hiccup and says "since I'm heir, you can turn your Night Fury over to me."

Hiccup blinks his eyes and says "no, and you can't order me to do anything because I'm not part of the tribe and your not getting my dragon because I crippled it and I'm the only one who can fly him."

Bertha ask in shock "you crippled a Night Fury, Hiccup?"

Hiccup answers "yes, after shooting him out of the sky."

Stoick ask "fly him? What do you mean by fly him?!"

Hiccup answers "he can't fly without me on his back controlling his prosthetic tail fin."

Snotlout walks upto him and grabs him by his throat and scowls "your going to teach me how to fly the Night Fury, then you go back to being useless!"

Hiccup pulls a dagger and slice his hand releasing his grip around his throat.

Snotlout held his hand trying to stop the bleeding.

Hiccup knees him in his stomach, then punch him hard in his cheek causing him to fall to the floor and scowls "next time you try choking me, I'll cut off your arm, prick."

Hiccup turns to the visitors to see them open mouth and runs out of the Meade hall to go to the forge and hide in his old back room.

Magnus laughs taking everyone's attention "push that boy too far and viking inside him comes out, but why didn't it come out before he exile himself?"

Astrid comments "I think I was the last one that pushed him over the line because I told him more than just what my father told me the reasons why to end our friendship and

I think by accepting my axe as one of the many things for my bride price, I accept his proposal for marriage which saved him from darkness, I hope."

Snotlout scowls "I'm going to go find his dragon in the forest!"

Magnus warns "no you are not, Snotlout! If Hiccup built a device to shoot a Night Fury, then train it, you would be killed holding a weapon."

Night time came and it started raining and turn into storming with lightning.

Astrid was laying in her bed in her pajamas trying to sleep, but her mind kept going back to mean things she told him and lays on her back frustrated.

Soon there was tapping on her window.

She goes over to the window and opens it to see Hiccup in the rain and says "get inside before you get a cold."

Hiccup climbs inside and ask "can you wait outside and do you have a pair pajamas I could use?"

Astrid rolls her eyes and pulls out a pair of pajamas for him "don't ask, but I had my mom purchase a pair of pajamas for you after getting your size which I guess would be same as me."

She steps outside to wait.

Hiccup takes off his armor suit and wet clothes and put on pajamas and says "you can come in now, milady."

He lays down on the bed against the wall.

Astrid walks in and slides in her bed and snuggle into his chest "I couldn't fall asleep with the storm and thinking about those mean things that I told you."

Hiccup wraps his arms around her waist, closing his eyes to sleep.

In the morning, Bryan woke up and ran inside his sister's bedroom to see if she left for training to see armor on the floor next to boy clothes and look at the bed to see his sister still sleeping next to a boy.

He climbs on top of the bed to see Hiccup sleeping next to his sister and wakes them up "HICCUP!"

Hiccup and Astrid open their eyes groaning.

Bryan hugs Hiccup.

Hiccup sleepy says "hey Bryan."

Bryan grins "I'm happy that you fixed your relationship, big sister and I think your both in big trouble. DAD! HICCUP SLEPT OVER!"

And ran I laughing.

Astrid grumbles "why you little turp."

"ASTRID!"

Magnus stood in his daughter's doorway in his pajamas and says "you two got some explaining to do."

Hiccup ask "would it make it better that I'm wearing pajamas that your wife got me and there was no kissing."

Astrid blushes at kissing.

Magnus nods his head "no night time activity and you can spend the night when it rains, but why didn't you return back to your camp?"

Hiccup answers "it got too dark and I lined the forest with traps for invading tribes that want to ambush from the forest."
