Today's prompt was pranks I'll be honest, never been a fan of pranks. SO I pondered what I could do for this particular prompt - hey Puns starts with 'P' so you will just have to forgive me and deal with this instead…teenagers

Pepa's Punny Morning

Pepa woke with a raging headache and noted that it was later than usual so she got up, dressed and made her way downstairs to find her sister packing up the last of her food before heading out to the village. Julieta did a double take when she saw her sister. "Pepa, you, okay?"

"Headache…" Pepa said and a small thunderhead appeared above her.

"Maybe you should take the day off, you've been going non-stop all week."

"Is something wrong?" Bruno asked walking into the kitchen.

"Pepa woke up under the weather and now she's got a headache."

"Pep, you really need to start getting out of bed feet first."

"You know Bruno," Pepa said rubbing her forehead, "Why not do me a favor and try to not be a complete prick all your life. Take a few minutes off and give the rest of us a break."

"Well, aren't you a little ray of pitch-black," Bruno quipped as on of his rats popped out of his ruana and squeaked at Pepa.

Thunder rolled, but Pepa forced a smile onto her face as she thought, 'If I'm smiling that alone should scare you.'

Bruno took an involuntary step back, the rat disappeared into his ruana and he said with a small laugh, "You know, Pep, your lightning storms are always so very striking and you know how I hate windy weather. It really blows."

More thunder…

"Honestly," Julieta said as she rolled her eyes, threw her hands up and said as she walked away with her basket, "There's coffee in the pot, Pepa. Come on Bruno, we're already running late."

Pepa watched as Bruno side stepped toward and out the door. Peace at last, so she poured a little coffee and sat at the table. She took a sip and her cloud dissipated somewhat. Then she heard it…

"Where do squirrels go in a hurricane?" Bruno asked and Pepa groaned when he answered, "Everywhere…"

It was just stupid enough that Pepa laughed and she put her head on the table, hands up in mock surrender. Anything to make it stop.
