Chapter 15

In space

Bulma nervously watched her spherical display. Four ships were definitely heading towards Namek, but the fifth had broken away and was coming her way. She thought back to her ships construction, and cursed herself for not thinking of ship to ship combat as a possibility. "Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap." She repeated as she retook control of the ships navigation.

Not bothering to choose a specific direction she throttled up her engines. Namek began shrinking below her as the relatively quiet hum of the propulsion system grew to a moderate rumble. The sensation of acceleration, without a visible point of reference, unsettled her, and this was not helped by the shaking of the ship.

Jeice saw the strange ship pulling away from him and smirked to himself. "You'll have to do better than that if you want to escape me, boss." Pulling up a holographic display he checked his power output. Dragging his white gloved finger up he adjusted his ship from 15% to 25%, and he slowly began closing in on Bulma. Increasing it to 30% a pop up replaced his screen.

"Caution, this ship has only been approved for 25% thrust. Beyond this point you risk catastrophic failure. Do you wish to proceed? ~Jor-El" Jeice clicked the yes box, drug his throttle up to 30% again, and was rapidly closing on the unknown ship.

Bulma quickly scanned through her ships quick reference guide. Finding nothing more useful than a pair of external robotic manipulators she through the book against the far wall. Picking up the cargo log she quickly scanned through it. Finding nothing more deadly than a kitchen knife she threw it as well. Checking her display she found that her pursuer had halved the distance between them.

"Think, Bulma, think!" She paced back and forth on the bridge, pulling at her hair. "You've got to have something here that could be used as a weapon."

Snapping her fingers she remembered her quarters, her desk, and her projects. Quickly entering her room she went to her workspace and began digging through robotics. Finding one box in particular she opened it. "Tien, your arm is going to save me!" Returning to the bridge and dumping the contents out on the floor she began working quickly. "I forgot your name, but thanks for insisting we bring spare parts."

As Bulma improvised a defense Jeice was closing the distance between them. "Come on." He said. "That can't be all you've got." Opening his holographic display he locked on to Bulma's ship and set his autopilot to match its speed.

Looking up from her work Bulma saw that the ship following her was an attack pod, similar to the ones Nappa and Vegeta landed on Earth in. It had gotten to close, and she imagined he would try to board any moment now. Attempting to deny this she adjusted her controls with one free hand, while holding her invention together in the other. Activating small side rockets she sent herself in to a spiral.

Watching the ship on her monitor spin, she was thankful that she couldn't feel the spinning.

Jeice slammed his fist on his seat. "Really? That's how you stop a boarding?" Fumbling with a frequency dial on his arm rest he prepared to broadcast on all channels. "Attention unidentified flying object. You have failed to register your presence with the local authorities. Please prepare for a brief inspection and interview." Stopping the broadcast he chuckled to himself. "I should have gotten a Galactic Patrol cap."

Bulma fumbled her tools as the voice resonated through her ship. "A port authority? Really?" She looked down at her device, a matte yellow metal form shaped like a closed fist with a single, rude, finger extended. She pocketed the device and returned to her command chair. Not knowing exactly how to respond she intended to broadcast openly as well. "This is Bulma, of Earth. I wasn't aware of any local authorities that required registration. Could we do the interview over the radio?"

"Got her." Jeice slapped his thighs. Opening his communicator he replied "Greetings, Miss Bulma. Unfortunately that will not be possible. Please allow me access to your air lock, or I will be forced to make my own."

Bulma's blood ran cold at the thought of her ship being breached. The air escaping, being ripped from her lungs. She quickly sealed each door of the ship, it wouldn't stop a fighter for long, but having three distinct air chambers wouldn't hurt at this point.

Jeice spoke to Bulma again. "Alright, we're doing this the hard way. I'm going to match your rotation and approach. I see your hatch. If it isn't open when I arrive, I will open it myself. Don't worry about me, I'll have auxiliary air tanks. I hope you have the same." He closed the communicator and turned his speakers volume to zero. He made his offer, now to see if she'd accept. Matching her rotation Jeice approached the seem where a door was to be likely.

Jeice stretched the best he could in his cramped pod, and put a mask over his face. Making sure it was connected to his pod he opened the door. Immediately he was cold. He wouldn't freeze, not while he had power left in him, but it didn't make the space walk any more comfortable. He used his ki to approach the seem and knocked three times. He decided to give her 30 seconds, but after only 20 the door had opened.

Bulma wanted to throw up as she watched the red man enter her ship. She quickly looked him over. 'White hair, white armor, black body suit … Frieza Force armor.' She thought quickly. "I'm on the bridge, I'll close the hatch and repopulate the room with air. Go through the next chamber, and climb the latter on the far wall. I'll be at the top, in a chair against the far wall, directly over where you are now."

Bulma closed the door behind Jeice. She smacked her forehead when she realized she had been stupid on two counts. First count, the room was drained of oxygen, there's no way he heard her. Secondly, as the door sealed it pinched his air hose, and he may take that as an attack. Thankfully for her he took his mask off and took a deep breath. Bulma repeated the directions, and he nodded at them.

The door closed behind Jeice as he entered the gravity chamber. Moments later a bell rang and he found himself on the floor, barely able to move.

Jeice smiled and he forced himself to his hands and knees. "Well, this is a new one." He said. Sweat was immediately rolling off his forehead and impacting the ground. Running his finger over the tile Jeice wondered what kind of stone this was, and how he could get it in his quarters.

Working his way to his hands and feet Jeice slowly walked forward, towards the latter. Each step was a battle, as he had to maintain a perfect center of gravity or risk being dragged down again.

Bulma watched through her monitors and she quickly began adjusting her weapon. "Apologies for the chamber." Bulma spoke through the intercom. "For some reason I haven't been able to deactivate it."

Not knowing his cover was blown Jeice responded with a smile. "Not a problem, Miss Bulma. We understand that malfunctions occur, and can direct you towards mechanics once we've got your paperwork sorted."

Reaching the latter Jeice was surprised to find the gravity was back to normal. The tiles were the same, and apparently they weren't the cause of the gravity. He'd have to look in to that some more. Climbing to the top of the latter he announced himself. "I'm coming in now, My weapons are stored, and I ask that you keep your hands where I can see them until trust is established."

Poking his head up Jeice saw the woman he had been speaking to. She was sitting in a captains chair. Tapping his scouter and looking around he confirmed they were alone. He also saw a large crystalline ball in the kitchen sink, and a detached hand on the woman's lap. "Hand?" He asked her.

"It's a friends." Bulma said. "Cybernetic, not organic."

"I see. This shouldn't take too long." Jeice hoisted himself out of the latter well and got himself to the center of the room. Spotting a dining table he went to take one of the seats.

Taking her chance Bulma pointed the hand at Jeice, and bending one of the fingers closer to the palm a ball of artificial energy was formed. Bending the finger further it fired at the man.

Jeice collapsed on the table, a hole had been burnt through his armor and his red skin was even more red, and smoking. "That wasn't very nice." He said as he righted himself. "You really don't know who you are dealing with, do you?"

Bulma went to pull the trigger again and found that her weapon was gone. Frantically looking around her eyes were drawn back to Jeice, as he crushed it between his hands.

"I'm going to pretend that didn't happen." Jeice growled. "And you're going to answer my questions, now. Make sure not to leave anything out, or things may get ugly." Jeice cracked his neck.

Bulma tried to push her chair away from Jeice, but just succeeded in sinking further in to her seat. "I'm sorry. Yes, sir."

"First question." Jeice said as he pushed a button on his scouter. A small light began to glow red. "Where are you from. Be specific."

Loa's village

Loa and Nail stood 10 feet apart in the center of the village. The corpse of Dodoria was a few feet to the right. Between them, on the ground, was an empty patch of soil. Loa looked herself over, noting the pink arm bands and powder blue cape.

Loa looked at Nail. "Do you mind if I?"

"Go ahead." Nail averted his eyes.

Loa closed her eyes and felt the wells of power within her. Grasping them in both hands she squeezed their energy out, and into her body. Her aura burst to life, sending small rocks and loose soil flying. "This, is nice." Loa said.

"You're lucky I'm alone, you know that, right?" Nail crossed his arms.

Loa chuckled to herself, releasing her power. "Come now, Nail. You know as well as I do you wouldn't start a fight, not with anyone, and not with me."

Nail kicked a rock away. "So, the dragon ball. Can I have it?" He bit his tongue, but decided to finish his thought. "I'll bring it back after the wish is made."

Loa laughed out loud. "What would your Grand Elder think of that offer, Nail?" She shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I'm not giving you my dragon ball, not while Guru controls them." She palmed the ball and rolled it down her arm, over her shoulders, and in to her other hand. Closing her fingers around it she stretched them over the ball, encasing it in her flesh. It flowed up her arm, in to her chest, and in to her stomach, there it shrank until it no longer showed.

Nail tilted his head to the left, and Loa did the same. Looking over her shoulder Loa felt a cluster of tickling sensations. "What's that?" She asked.

"I'm not sure." Nail said. He focused his senses in the direction Loa was looking. It was faint, but coming quickly. "I don't know who that is." Nail scratched his chin. "I need to check this out."

"Do you want some company?" Loa asked.

"No. Keep the dragon ball safe. I'll be back." Nail pushed off the ground.

"Don't worry, I'll keep my villagers safe too." Loa shook her head at Nail as he flew towards the approaching power levels.

Namek

Four spherical white pods, with red tinted windows, streaked through the sky. Hitting the ground at a shallow angle they trench four parallel, shallow, lines in the ground. Coming to a stop the four spheres opened in unison.

Captain Ginyu, Burter, Recoome, and Guldo stood in their pods, before leaping in to the air. Recoome landed first, with Guldo to his left, followed by Ginyu and Burter. Three of the four stood tall, Guldo stood.

Recoome bent his right knee, kicking his left leg out towards Guldo. Bending at the waist and extending his arms up and to the side he pointed three of his four limbs at Ginyu. "Recoome!"

Burter bent his left knee, kicking out his right leg. Bending at his waist and pointing his arms at Ginyu he shouted "Burter!"

As Guldo dropped to his left knee he pointed his arms towards Recoome. "Guldo!"

Captain Ginyu looked to his left, hesitated for a moment, and jumped in the air. Summer salting and spinning as he descended he landed facing the opposite direction as his crew. Bending at his waist he put his hands on his knees, looking between his legs he shouted "GINYU!"

The four drummed their hands against their knees, coming in close. "And we are the." Re-assuming their poses Guldo touched the core of Recoome. Recoome touched the hands of Burter. Burter wasn't touched by anyone else. Ginyu stood in the middle of what should have been the arc of his life's success, slightly disappointed. "GINYU FORCE!" The four shout in unison.

"It's just not the same without Jeice." Ginyu looked at the ground.

"Agreed, sir." Recoome and Burter spoke in unison.

"We can't worry about him now though, men." Ginyu said. "We are here for a reason. Step one, dragon balls. Step two, kill everyone." Ginyu took a deep breath. "Are you ready, men?"

"We can't hear you!" His troops said.

"ARE YOU READY, MEN?" Ginyu yelled.

"Aye-aye, Captain!" The three underlings spoke in unison once more.

Ginyu activated his scouter. 'Thank Frieza for experimental tech.'. "Two power levels over two million, that way!" Ginyu pointed. "Lord Frieza must have invited his brother to the planet." Ginyu continued looking around. "A few large power levels not far from Lord Frieza, and another large level, hmm, coming towards us. Idiot."

Recoome chuckled, and Burter shook his head at his simple minded coworker.

"It looks like there are only a few villages left. Burter, Recoome, destroy them and get their dragon balls. Guldo, we'll wait here for whoever is coming our way." Captain Ginyu raised his fist into the air. "You have your orders, men, make it happen!"

Aboard Frieza's ship.

Goku stood in the medical center, red aura blazing, hair standing on end. Risking a quick glance away from Frieza he checked on his son. "Gohan, run." He growled.

Frieza sneered. "Be happy, monkey. You're the first saiyan ever to push me to this level, my third form."

Goku looked back at his son again. He would have repeated himself, but the wind was knocked out of him. Frieza pulled his fist out of Goku's gut, and aimed another for his head. Goku used an open palm to deflect the attack, as well as the dozen that followed in rapid succession.

Goku struck out with his knee. Frieza blocked it with his own. Goku kicked out with his free leg, but Frieza blocked it with his knee. Taking advantage of Frieza's open stance Goku went for a knee to the groin, but was blocked by Frieza's tail.

Frieza slashed his tail out from between his legs, smashing into Goku's ribs. Taken by surprise Goku was sent flying, the ships walls tore like tissue paper as he was thrust through them.

Frieza stepped towards Gohan, preparing a red death ball in his right hand. As he threw it at the boy's skull Goku flew through the same wall he was sent through. With a right upper cut he sent Frieza into, and through, the ceiling, in to the skies over Namek.

"Damn it, Gohan, run!" Goku shouted as he chased Frieza down.

Gohan suddenly felt very alone. Defensively raising his power he went through the hole in the wall, and quickly found himself outside the ship. Flying low he got a short distance away from the ship, and took cover behind a large rock.

Frieza stopped himself in mid air, rubbing his soar jaw. Looking down he saw the two enemies. Goku angled his flight and came at Frieza head on. Again an exchange of blows occurred. Goku wasn't focusing on power, just speed. A majority of his attacks were blocked, but Frieza couldn't keep up, and he was slowly being tenderized.

Frieza on the other hand was focusing on might, putting enough power in each blow to change the geography of the cosmos. Goku was able to dodge most blows, but being forced to block the odd lucky shot left his arms soar, and his chest bruised.

Pushing his advantage Goku began pushing Frieza backwards. Frieza brought his tail around for another slash, unfortunately for him Goku saw this coming and caught the fifth limb in a sealed grip. Tugging the tail Frieza was spun partly around. Goku took the opportunity and blasted several small ki bullets in to the frost demons back. As Frieza was regaining balance Goku tugged the tail again, this time grabbing it with his free hand, and continuing the spin. Getting up to speed Goku released his grip, sending Frieza flying. As he flew Goku gave chase, continuing his ki barrage, not letting Frieza regain control of his movement. As Frieza reached the pinnacle of his course Goku hammered his back with a double ax hand chop. Frieza impacted the ground, the sound of which would send flocks of birds fleeing, if any were on planet. Bouncing up Frieza found himself in the ground one too many times for his liking, with a saiyan boot threatening to snap his neck.

Frieza took a sharp breath, and was disappointed to now be literally eating dirt. In a panic Frieza tried to push Goku off his back, but he couldn't rotate his body, or force it up. Laying his arms by his sides, palms facing the sky, Frieza grinned wickedly. His hands glowed for a brief moment before a red beam of light extended from each finger, threatening to disassemble Goku.

Jumping back a good 25 feet Goku regained his footing and put his arms at his sides. Frieza didn't hesitate once he got the monkey off his back, he jumped as far as Goku, in the opposite direction. Smiling Frieza brought a single finger up and pointed it at Goku.

Just as light is a series of small waves, so to was the river of death beams that Goku found himself evading. Thinking that maybe Frieza's aim was narrow, Goku widened his dodges and eventually lead Frieza in a full circle. Not seeing a blind spot he slowly closed said circle, a ball of blue ki beginning to glow in his hands. "Ka, me!"

Raising his other hand Frieza began forming a constantly growing sphere of red energy. "This is it, monkey!"

"Ha me" Goku chanted as his blue ball grew three sizes, now radiating brilliant beams of light. If Gohan could see, he'd look back at this time fondly, as his introduction to a blue grass disco party.

Frieza began to chuckle as he stopped his death beam assault, and passed the death ball in to his favored hand.

"HA!" Goku yelled, thrusting his hands forward. The attack beamed forward towards Frieza, being caught over the formerly potential grave of the monster by Frieza's counter. The two attacks mixed, bonding together. Goku was feeding his blue energy in to a violet sun, held at the tip of the finger of a manically laughing demon.

"What? No. How?" Frieza stopped laughing as the hole he was to be berried in sank out of sight, blocked by the approaching king slayer.

Frieza shot his other hand out, trying to force the attack back, Focusing his power he was able to slow it, however he wasn't able to stop it.

Goku closed his eyes. 'Come on, Kaio-ken, don't let me down now!' Inside himself he saw the power that Guru told him about. It seemed misty, untouchable. He went for it, but decided it wasn't a good idea. Instead he slowed the waterfall of energy he was pouring out, before releasing it, and the build up, in pulses. As he pumped his energy in waves, the kamehameha sped up once more.

Knowing he only had moments left before impact, Frieza looked around, trying to find any advantage he could. It took him longer than he would have liked, but a short ways from his punctured ship he saw the boy with the tail. 'Why is he hiding behind a waist high rock?' Frieza didn't have time to put much in to it, but he relied on his attacks piercing potential. Flicking a finger in the boy's direction a relatively low energy death beam shot at Gohan, hitting his lower stomach.

'Not again.' Gohan thought as he was forced to throw up crimson blood. He grabbed at his wound, splattering his bodily fluids, and solids, messily.

"NO!" Goku screamed as his concentration, and Kaio-ken, were lost. The violet sphere quickly soared back towards Goku, and in a moment of pure rage his ki, his spirit, his life energy, flooded through his hands and in to his approaching death. Frieza didn't have time to be surprised, as immediately the ball struck him, exploding on impact. Frieza was sent flying.

If Goku was watching he would have noticed Frieza was out of sight nearly instantly, but it didn't matter. As fast as Frieza was gone, Goku was at Gohan's side. "I told you to run!"Goku tore Gohan's gi open, inspecting his sons wound.

Gohan let out a whimper when his dad touched him. "It hurts." He said.

As Goku was patting down his pockets, searching for beans, he and Gohan both felt a terrible power. Frieza had grown four fold since Goku had first fought the monster, and now his power was increasing dramatically again. Goku found his only senzu bean and pulled it out. Cradling Gohan's head in his arms Goku fed the boy.

As Gohan chewed he felt his power restored, and double. After having his potential unlocked by Guru he thought he had reached the summit. After eating the fruit from the tree of might he knew what real power was. Now, coming back from a near death experience, feeling Frieza powering up even further, Gohan knew that this was just the beginning, that there truly was no limit to his potential.

Back inside Frieza's ship

In the short time that Goku and Frieza were clashing, Tien and Turles had regrouped at the end of their assigned hall.

"Please don't tell me that's what I think it is?" Tien asked Turles as the pair jogged back the way they came.

"Goku must have found Frieza." Turles said. "They stopped for a moment, I don't know why."

"We need to help Goku." Tien said. "Let's get with Krillen and..."

"There is absolutely nothing we can do in a fight like this." Turles said. "Even with a fruit I don't know if I could even be a factor now."

Meeting them part way back to their access point Krillen stopped the pair. "Guys, did you notice."

"Yes, we noticed the battle of gods overhead." Turles began working on a new exit on Frieza's ship.

"I was going to say the other powers that just landed on Namek." Krillen crossed his arms indignantly.

Turles stopped his assault on the ship and looked back at Tien. Tien shrugged. "No. I must have missed it."

"I'm not sure who that was, but I think we'd be of more use there than here." Krillen said.

Turles struck the side of the ship, piercing it again. "Let's get moving then ..."

Ginyu's landing site

"We'll keep them on the sides." Ginyu said. "They'll touch their hands together over my head, and I'll reach up, all six hands together, like this." The Captain put his hands over his head, as if preparing to dive. "Then you round out in front of me, Guldo. Standing, reaching to their stomachs. A good temporary alternative if I do say so myself."

"Yes, sir, brilliant idea, Captain." Guldo said.

The pair bantered as they watched their scouters. It hadn't been long since they split up, but the approaching power level was already on top of them. Searching the horizon Ginyu was the first to spot Nail.

Nail touched down a stones throw from the Ginyu Force. "Who are you, and what are you doing on Namek?"

"I'm glad you asked." Captain Ginyu said. "Guldo?"

Guldo stepped in front of Ginyu, and the pair got on the tips of their toes, stomping their boots in to the ground. They rotated in a pair of circles, both on their on axes, and around the spot in between them. As they returned to facing Nail they spoke in unison. "We are the." Ginyu through his arms up over his head as Guldo threw his up and out, his short stature making his arms barely wider than the shoulders of his captain. "GINYU FORCE!"

"Congratulations." Nail clapped. "That was almost as good as our children's talent shows."

"You dare to insult the Ginyu Force?" Ginyu yelled over his companions head.

"Insult? Oh, no no, no, I wouldn't do that. Our children are extremely talented, and their shows are incredible. It's a very high complement." If sarcasm were an odor, even Krillen would be gagging at Nail's statement.

"Oh, well thank you kindly." Ginyu put an arm across his waist and bowed at the local wildlife.

"Psych." Nail assumed his fighting stance.

Purple veins popped on The Captain's head. "Guldo, kill him."

"Yes, sir." Guldo stepped forward. "Local, I give you one warning. Don't blink."

Nail felt this creatures power, and while it was substantial, it was nothing compared to his own. Making eye contact with Guldo's center pair Nail spoke slowly, blinking as he did so. "Blink." When Nail opened his eyes he was confused to be facing the sky, on his back. Pain shot through his stomach, chest, and groin.

"Good one, Guldo." Ginyu cheered from the sidelines.

"What the hell was that?" Nail jumped back to his feet, re-assuming his stance.

"You blinked." Guldo said. "I've got a bit of a special power. When I'm not seen my power and speed grow exponentially. In the time it took you to blink I was able to deliver 17 blows, and return back to my spot." Guldo chuckled, and Ginyu roared in laughter.

"You really shouldn't share your powers like that." Nail held his right eye open with his left hand, maintaining his guard with his right hand. "Let's see what you can do without your power." Nail kicked off the ground, charging Guldo. Without blinking he found himself facing the ground, extreme pain radiating from his back.

"Guldo, that wasn't very nice." Ginyu smiled. "You gave him hope just to dash it away." He shook his head.

'So his power isn't sight based?' Nail blinked and didn't move. 'Damn it. What did I get myself in to.'

Over Frieza's ship

"Are you okay?" Goku helped Gohan back to his feet.

"Yeah, I think so." Gohan felt his torn gi, and his bare stomach. Powering up he found that his base line had definitely increased again. Focusing his senses towards where Frieza probably landed Gohan compared himself to the tyrant. His dad had an advantage over Frieza, but the tyrant was powering up further. At this point Gohan was as powerful as his father with Kaio-ken times 10, but Frieza was at the same point, and not slowing down.

"Gohan, you need to find Turles. Use the scouter, get Bulma to pick you up, and leave. I'll find my own way back to Earth when this is over."

"He's more powerful now, dad." Gohan said. "With the fruit, and the bean, I'm on the same level that you are. I can help you."

Goku grabbed his sons wrist. "Gohan, I am your father and you will listen to me. You will leave this planet, immediately. You will not look back, you will not come back."

"Kill him." Gohan pulled his hand free from his father. He slowly rose in to the air, beginning to cry. Locking on to where Turles was, a short ways away, Gohan began to fly as quickly as he could.

It wasn't quick enough. Frieza appeared in front of the boy, grabbing his skull in his small white hand. "Come now, no need to die tired." Frieza had transformed again, and was now much smaller than before. "Back to the ground with you." Frieza punched Gohan's stomach, right where he was wounded. As he buckled over Frieza smashed both his hands into the boys back, rocketing him back towards Namek.

Goku instinctively activated his Kaio-ken and had caught his son before he hit the ground. "Gohan, are you okay?"

"I don't think I'm made for fighting." Gohan said, getting back on his feet once again.

"I have to congratulate you." Frieza slowly clapped. "You are the first person outside of my family to bring out my true form. You're not even close to pushing my full power, but hey, at least you tried."

"Frieza!" Goku shouted. "It doesn't matter how strong you become. I, will, kill you!" He got in front of his son, hovering slightly off the ground. 'Okay, so 10 won't be enough anymore."

"Try me, monkey boy!" Frieza curled two fingers towards his outreached closed fist.

"Kaio-ken, times, 20!" Goku shouted. As his aura shifted to red he rushed at Frieza once again. Frieza had powered up, but not enough, not yet. Goku still had the advantage, and was still directing their fight.

He couldn't hold out forever though. His body couldn't take the new multiplier for long, and Frieza was still powering up. Goku was going for kill shots, and nothing less. One failed dodge, or unsupported block, and his target's head would be rolling. Thankfully for Frieza, Goku's focus on power really slowed him down, giving him time to needle his defenses.

As the pair brawled in the sky, sending thunderous shock waves every which way, Gohan began slipping away. He didn't want to fly and risk distracting his father. He didn't want to sprint and draw Frieza's attention. He didn't want to leave his father alone with this monster, but his father couldn't have been more clear. The sound of an unstoppable object hitting an unmovable wall was soon joined by pained yells as Frieza gained a slight lead over Goku.

Goku's guard faltered and Frieza immediately delivered several swift punches to his unprotected face. Goku put his arms up in front of his head but Frieza had moved behind him and punished the saiyan with multiple kicks to his back. Having a clever idea Frieza quickly patted Goku down, finding his first forms horn was still in the saiyan's pocket.

While Frieza pulled it out Goku spun around, lashing out at Frieza. The frost demon was too fast though, and once again was behind the saiyan. Grabbing his torso under his arms Frieza rocketed them both forward. Frieza ground Goku's face in to the ground as they skidded to a stop in front of the fleeing Gohan. Flipping the downed saiyan over with his tail Frieza stood beside him.

"Your father told me he'd drive this through my eye if he ever saw me again." Frieza held the horn up to the blind Gohan. "If he were a man, he may have had the ability to at one point. Now though, it's my turn." Frieza dropped the horn, point first, towards Goku's chest. Whipping it down with his tail the ebony horn pierced Goku's heart.

As Goku screamed out his last breath, Gohan screamed as well. Tears cascaded down Gohan's face as sweat poured from every pore on his body. His tail began twitching, lashing out violently. The boy's scream quieted as he struggled to close his jaw. His teeth ground together as each exhale came out as a deep growl.

Turles, Tien, and Krillen stopped their flight, looking back towards where they came from.

The skies over Goku's corpse reflected Gohan. As clouds moved in, and thunder rolled across the lands, lightning began bridging the gap between the ground and the heavens. As that gap was bridged, so to was the gap between Gohan and his potential.

Nail looked away from Guldo, towards where he thought the dragon may be appearing. Guldo would have normally taken this chance to kill his enemy, but the shards of glass from his exploding scouter distracted him, and Ginyu as well.

Gohan let out an agonized howl. He tried to release his pain to the world, but it only came back in spades. The pain shifted, shifted to a familiar, comfortable emotion. Rage filled Gohan's blank eyes. "FRIEZA!" Gohan screeched as his instincts took over.

Hovering over the ground the boy punched his arms out and snapped his legs out as well. Making himself look larger, attempting to scare the predator he opened his hands, straightened his ankles, and snapped his head back. As the heavens themselves howled at Gohan, he howled back. As the heavens themselves lit the planet in golden lightning, Gohan did the same. His hair began to glow gold, and his milky eyes did the same.

Author's note: Well crap, Frieza is in for it now. Something tells me Gohan won't be likely to give Frieza any energy, outside of a potential Masenko.
