"So, what are we doing?" I asked, following Tiger with Melissa, Camie, Toga, the silver haired girl, and a blonde boy with a smug smirk on his face.
"The group of you will be focusing on your fighting skills with either your quirks or your gear. Your quirks in of themselves can't really get stronger without awakening and that is still a strange rarity that we can't train. So, the six of you are going to do one on one fights switching partners however I declare and when I say," Tiger said, leading us to a small clearing. "First groups are Sogeki vs. Monoma, Intelli vs. Toga, and Shield vs. Utsushimi. Spread out and fight until either one is pinned, admits defeat, or is unconscious," Tiger commanded.
I walked over to one area as the blonde boy followed me.
"This will be a piece of cake. Even with your little toys you can't hope to match me in any form of combat," he bragged.
"We'll see about that," I replied, taking my staff out and twirling it around me.
"Begin!" Tiger announced.
I charged the blonde boy but he bended his back in a way that was inhuman to dodge. I jumped back as his arm shot forward and then farther behind me.
"Pliabody, aka Tiger's quirk. This means you have some form of copying quirks," I said, watching as his arm shot back into him.
"Hmm, I guess for a null you do have quite the mind," he said, holding his shoulder.
"Still, since you can copy the quirk, I'm assuming you can't copy their skills with it!" I declared charging him as he dodged my kick.
I then slammed into his chest with my staff throwing him to the ground. I then slammed my foot on his chest before holding my staff to his neck with sparks jumping off of it.
"That's not enough to scare me," he said.
He twisted his arms to grab the staff and I activated the electricity causing his body to convulse. I stopped and he started to move and I activated the electricity again.
"Come on, I can do this all day," I said.
"Monoma is pinned," Tiger announced.
"What?" he asked.
"Your shoulders are on the ground for more than ten seconds," I said, pulling my staff away.
We kept sparing for a few minutes with him using Tiger's and a couple of other quirks that I didn't recognize. After a while I switched opponents and was fighting Camie.
"Sorry babe, but I'm going to like, totes beat you," she said, causing my cheeks to heat up as she pursed her lips and started to twirl as mist emerged from her mouth and filled the air around me.
I was surrounded by a bunch of her all looking the same.
"You aren't the first person I've fought with an illusion based quirk," I said.
"Well, mine's like, totes different from that Mysterio dudes," all versions of her said.
"Well, crap," I sighed as I couldn't tell the difference. I then activated my glasses and smirked. "You're right, his quirk, Theater of Mind, is mostly used to create effects that make a person's mind believe what is happening and it can also mess with technology. However, your quirk doesn't have that effect on technology or the mind, although I'm guessing there's more to your quirk than just visual and auditory illusions since most illusion quirks have a special effect that differentiate them," I said, looking at the only form with heat coming off of it.
"Awe, that totes isn't fair," she said, the illusion falling. "Luckily you're like totes right about my quirk," she added, smiling as she blew more mist from her mouth.
I quickly charged her and punched her but it went through and I lost my footing before falling.
"Oof!" I grunted as my face hit something soft.
"Izumi, I know you're a useless lesbian like your sister but I don't think your girlfriends would like you shoving your face in another girl's boobs," Mandalay said in my head.
I looked up and saw Camie's face.
"While I totes don't mind having your head in my totes terrific tits could you like, get off of me so we could fight?" Camie asked, a smile on her face.
"Y-yeah, sorry," I said, getting up. "So, you made an illusion of yourself over yourself, as well as one of nothing behind you. But when my punch went through the air and I fell I knocked you down as well," I said. "Double sided illusions?"
"Not quite, but you are totes close," she said, standing up and dusting off her butt.
"Then dynamic illusions that you can change on the fly and don't have to be pre programed in a sense," I added, trying to figure out what happened.
"That's the right pie," she said, making a large illusion of a dome around us.
"What's this for?" I asked.
"Mirrors," she said.
I looked at her before lifting up my staff with my right arm, but it was on my left side. I looked to the right and saw my arm down in the same position as my left arm. I flexed my left hand and the hand I was looking at flexed at the same time.
"An illusion that makes everything reversed," I said, looking at her. "This means both of us have to flip our minds unless you can see through your illusions."
"I like totes wish I could, but I've done this more times than I've done girls," she said, causing my face to slightly heat up.
I got into a defensive stance as she charged at me. She then lifted her left leg up for a kick but I moved to the right. I then realized my mistake as I got hit in the face.
"Right, everything is reversed right now," I sighed.
I looked up before remembering a training session with Yumi
"How can you dodge my attacks even when they are obviously in your blindspot and can't see them?" I asked, a couple of weeks into my training with her after getting the arc reactor.
"Well, I'm honestly not sure myself, all I do is let my instincts control my body. Some people have trained to not only dodge but completely fight with their eyes closed," she said. "Now, again."
I met Camie's eyes before closing mine and taking a deep calming breath.
"You good girl?" she asked.
"Yup," I said, moving to a purely defensive stance I was taught.
A couple minutes later
"And what did we learn?" Shino asked me, dabbing my cheek with a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol on it.
"Don't try to copy someone who has years of experience, training, and has built up instincts," I said, wincing as I laid on the couch beaten and bruised.
"Also?" she asked.
"Know when to surrender in a spar."
"Good, so how's Yumi and your new little sister?" she asked.
"Good, we're settled into the new house. As for Satsuki, she's had a couple of nightmares. The night before I left I woke up to find her curled up next to me. Turns out, since she has a wolf mutation she's more likely to seek another's heat at night to sleep. So, this is why you were too busy with work to talk to Yumi?" I asked.
"Yes, I wanted to talk and spend time with her, but I also needed to make sure to not tell her about this on accident," she said.
"It's fine, after this you can come over and the two of you can use the theater while Melissa, Setsuna, and I try to teach Satsuki how to swim," I said.
"Are you sure it's a good idea? Isn't she a little young?"
"Actually, she's only a little younger than I was," I said, wincing as she dabbed at the cut on my forehead.
"And done, now, for the rest of the day take it easy. I know you feel like you need to prove yourself or something, but you also need to focus on your health. You can't do anything if you are injured," she said, wrapping an arm around me. "Yumi told me during the expo that she's concerned that you will sacrifice yourself for something when it isn't necessary. With how much I've been around you I think she might be right. I know you have a bunch of stuff to protect yourself, but there are times when you won't be able to do everything. It's alright if you need to step back and get help from others. Like with Stain, you stepped back in order to let others. Also with Venom, Mr. Negative, and Doc Oct at I-Island," she said. "You aren't All Might, you aren't Maverick, you aren't Professor X, you aren't Iron Man, you aren't a person who can handle all of the villains in the world. I'm sorry but you need to realize this, I know you've idolized heroes for your whole life, but you aren't them. You are Izumi Sogeki, the owner of one of the greatest and largest companies in the world, however, you are also Batgirl, a hero student who has taken down some strong villains, but just because of that it doesn't mean you have to be everywhere. Remember, Tony Stark had the Avengers, Professor X had the X-Men, Maverick had a bunch of allies, All Might has all of the other heroes, you have your friends, your family, and those who care for you," she said.
"I- yeah, I just feel like I need to do more. I have a lot of power and the responsibility to use it to better the world. You're right, I need to slow down and accept help and the fact I can't do everything," I said, the information hitting me.
"I'm going to go out and help watch the other students, you can go meet up with Nezu to see what he wants you for," she said, getting up and walking out.
I took a breath as I stood up and went to the room Nezu was using as an office. I walked in and he looked at me.
"Ah, I wanted to talk to you about a couple of things," he said, motioning to the seat across from him.
"What is this about?" I asked, sitting down.
"I believe that it might be time for us to remove the HPSC from power, I even have an idea for who we might be able to get to replace them," he said.
"Really? Who?" I asked.
"I'll introduce you to them soon, you've probably never heard of them but have seen the effects they've had in the past," he said. "I just wanted to confirm that you are ready to do this, with the Stark Hero Agency getting ready to open I want to make sure that you don't spread yourself too thin, especially with how you tend to fight," he said.
"Actually, the hero agency is already out of my hands. The staff is just finishing all the legal documents before signing our first contract with a hero. They are just keeping me updated incase of any unexpected costs," I explained.
"Really? I suppose I should've guessed you would realize that you can't run everything with Stark Ind," Nezu sighed.
"Too bad I couldn't figure that out for fighting," I added.
"We all have our weaknesses. Now then, you can go out if you want and continue doing a bit of small training. Just no more spars today and you won't join them during the extra activity for tonight, actually, can you leave all of your equipment except for your watch, glasses, and batarangs?" Nezu said.
"Why are you being so cautious?" I asked.
"Hmm, if you were any other student I wouldn't say anything, but since you are a high priority I guess I can say a bit. With the USJ and a couple of smaller incidents that have been happening I have gotten concerned with the possibility of a mole in the school. I'm going to ask you to not talk about this with anyone else, including your girlfriends," he said.
"Of course sir, thank you for telling me this," I said, standing up.
I went and walked out into the woods to find a tree to practice aiming. I saw a good tree and went a good way away from it to make sure that I was making my aim getting better at targets that were further away from me. I kept throwing my batarangs until I ran out. I then collected them before going back and doing it again. I kept this up until the sky started to darken.
"Izumi, time for dinner. Don't make me send Pixie-Bob after you," Shino said in my mind.
I smirked at the threat before making my way back. I looked at the ground and noticed a strange patch of red and blue flowers. They were in a strange purposeful shape, but I didn't recognise it. I walked past it since I probably just saw something in nothing. I made my way to the mess hall and noticed that everyone looked at me strangely as I walked in.
"Hey, come sit with us fam," Camie said, motioning for where she sat with Melissa and Setsuna.
"What's their problem?" I asked, as everyone looked at me.
"Oh, we had to cook our own food and when we asked where you were Nezu said that you were dismissed because he sent you to do something and that you wouldn't be back until after we started eating," Melissa said.
"So, what did he ask you to do?" Setsuna asked.
"Nothing much, mostly just to do extra training with only my personal defense gear I have on me so that way I'm more used to it," I said.
"Ah, that like, totes makes sense why you should do double the practice since you have to like fight two separate ways," Camie said.
"I'm actually going to go to the bath right after I'm done eating since the rest of you have some sort of special activity that I was exempted from since I kinda tried to do something stupid," I said, scratching the back of my head.
"Yeah, like, what was up with that fam? Closing your eyes to fight?" Camie asked.
"It was something my older sister mentioned and I tried to use it. Basically she told me that people could fight with just their instincts, however, my instincts aren't as trained as her's and others," I said.
"Of course you would try something like that," Melissa sighed.
"I honestly thought you wouldn't do anything dumb durring spars, but I just remembered what you did to defeat Mirko," Setsuna sighed.
"She told me she wanted a good fight so I gave it to her," I countered. "Although, yeah, I guess I might have taken it a little too far."
"A little? Girl, you broke yourself to defeat the babe, if that isn't amazing AF I don't know what is," Camie said.
"It was really cool," the small girl with cat ears said, looking over at us.
"OMG, you even got a babe like Toujou saying that you are coolio. That's so not something I would ever imagine happening in like fifty years," Camie exclaimed.
"Alright, time for those who failed the finals to come with me, everyone else except Sogeki go with Nezu, Midnight, Vlad King, and Ms. Tsutsumi outside," Mr. Aizawa said.
After multiple complaints everyone got up and split up with a small group of five going with Mr. Aizawa and the rest followed the other teachers. I got up and went to the hot spring and got in not bothering with a towel.
"Ah, this really hits the spot," I sighed, closing my eyes.
"I know right?" a high energetic voice agreed.
I opened my eyes to see an almost deathly thin and pale woman with platinum blonde hair in two twin tails with one ending in blue and the other in red.
"Damn it Harley, I told you to wait until one of the others were here," a more mature voice said.
I looked to the side to see a more voluptuous woman with light green skin and long red hair. I then looked between the two of them and noticed that they were both like me, not wearing towels.
"Hey Izumi, alright if I joi-n?" Shino asked, walking in with a towel on but stopping as she saw the two other women. "Ivy, Quinn, what are you two doing here?" she asked, her voice serious.
"The undercover mission we have been on finally got too close to home for us to not be able to come warn you," the green skinned woman said.
"Yup, we already met with Operative Nezu and he told us we could come tell you and the owner of Stark Ind. about it," the pale woman said.
"Who gave him permission to bring her in, Quinn?" Shino asked.
"The Director," the pale woman responded.
"Can I just ask what the fuck is going on?" I asked. "Who are you two?"
"I'm Pamala Isley, aka Poison Ivy. This is Harleen Quinzel, aka Harley Quinn. We work for an underground group called SHIELD. We are technically the fifth iteration of SHIELD and are currently tiny compared to the original," the green woman said. "The two of us were undercover agents with the man controlling the leader of the LOV but were loaned out to the kid and assigned to help a group he put together to attack the camp tomorrow night. The job the two of us were given was to kill you."
"SHIELD? They were disbanded years ago because of the corruption Captain America found in it," I said.
"Like she said, we are the fifth iteration. I'm not really an agent. I helped on a mission and was informed of them. Nezu is an operative for them along with quite a few teachers at UA," Shino said.
FWOOM!
I looked over the wall and saw blue flames.
"I thought you said it was tomorrow," I said.
"We were told that it would be tomorrow, but it looks like they sped things up," Ivy said.
"Let's go stop 'em!" Quinn said, jumping out.
"I'm guessing this counts as an emergency," I sighed, looking at Shino.
"Go suit up, don't do anything too stupid," she said, looking at me with worry in her eyes.
"Thanks," I said, running out and grabbing a towel.
I quickly dried myself before tossing my clothes on. I ran to the small shed my armor was in and opened it to see the gold and blue pieces of armor. I put my bat symbol on and activated it as it covered just my chest, back, sides, and the top of my shoulders. The armor then activated and attached to me, fusing with what I was wearing making it black with blue and gold accents. My upper arms were uncovered and I had vambraces on my forearms that matched the blue and gold coloring. I wore the blue and gold boots of the armor I had brought from the vault and grabbed the weapon that was with it. A long golden spear that was named Gungnir by the files. I focused on it and felt it start to charge with a little bit of electricity.
"Huh, I guess it really is mentally connected through the armor," I said, adjusting it in my grip. I then grabbed my domino and face mask and ran out to go help everyone.
I started to run through the forest when I heard something in my head.
"YOU ALL HAVE PERMISSION TO USE YOUR QUIRKS TO DEFEND YOURSELVES!" Mandalay announced mentally.
"Well, I have the tracker, so that's both of the ones we were told to capture," a voice said.
I quickly stopped and went behind a tree.
"Seeing her scream before falling unconscious was the greatest. Some of my greatest work yet," another man said.
"Well, I suppose it's time we go meet up with the others," the first man said.
"Not if I can help it," I said, activating my voice changer.
"Ah, I'm assuming you're the bat, but what's with the strange git up?" a man in a brown sack bag mask asked.
"Emergencies," I said.
"Ah, yes, of course you were prepared, but since you couldn't bring the full suit, just a special one," the other man said. He wore a while and black mask with a red magician's outfit.
"I don't want to hurt you," I said.
"Then don't," the sack man said, lifting his hand up and sending gas into my face.
I blinked as my vision adjusted and I saw a woman walking towards me. I then blinked again and felt a wave of calmness come over me.
"Not bad, unlucky for you, I've worked to make myself resistant to most poisons and gasses," I said, glaring at him.
"Well, it would seem that you are outmatched Scarecrow, allow me to try something," the man in the white mask said. "She was only a secondary objective," he added, throwing a marble at me.
Once it was half way it burst open and Ragdoll appeared flying at me. I quickly caught her before looking up to see they vanished. I checked her pulse and she was still alive, just unconscious. I got up and started running in the direction they were heading before I heard an animalistic screech. I ran and saw Setsuna and Melissa fighting off a huge lizard man in a white lab coat.
"Leave them alone!" I yelled, charging him and pushing him back with Gungnir.
I then stabbed him and shocked him.
"Thanks Batgirl," Melissa said.
"We need to go now," a voice I wasn't expecting said.
I watched as Venom ran past us towards where the others were heading.
"No," I said, moving to stop the Lizard.
"Move it Dr. Geki!" Venom yelled, vanishing.
The large Lizard knocked me back with its tail before following. I looked over to see Setsuna on the ground looking at nothing with horror on her face.
"Set, hey Set, what's wrong?" I asked, running over to her.
"Th-that was m-my f-father's n-name," she stuttered. "H-he h-had a l-low l-level l-lizard quirk too."
My eyes widened as I remembered something she said.
"She's technically my aunt, but after my parents got killed in an accident she took me in. I was three at the time so I grew up with her more so as a mom and Anan something akin to another parent," she said.
"Oh," I cleverly said.
AN-
Trauma! For those who might be upset that not much happened during the actual attack just remember this is only Izumi's POV. Next chapter will reveal some of the other things that others went through but not through their POVs just talking with others. Also, there were two ways Izumi's interaction with Poison Ivy and Harley was going to go but this one, while sadly less comical, was better for the story. I won't write the other one since it would require a whole different chapter and a half. That's why it took so long to get out. I kept switching between which interaction I wanted and at one point I was tempted to just make her walk in on Ivy and Quinn making out in the woods. I hope you all enjoyed this as well as some of the references I made. Make sure to follow, favorite, comment, and kudos! Link Out!
