"Uh."

Every part of my body is sore, I can't seam to open my eyes, and the wind is making my exposed flesh freeze. I don't know why I can't even open my eyes, it should be effortless like breathing but it's as if my eyelids are glued shut. I want to get up, I need to get up, I have to get up. I have to help others get to the safety of a shelter, it's my job to do so but my body doesn't want to cooperate with my brain. I decide to wait a few minutes to gather strength before I attempt to force myself to stand up. When I attempt to stand up I was only able to lift my head and part of my body before I was forced down to the ground. It was like a massive weight was put onto me but I couldn't feel anything touching me. I was however able to open my eyes, only for a moment. What I saw was something not from Earth, the sky was a swirl of blue, purple, and pink and the ground that was black asphalt was now a red slab of stone. I let out a sigh, there was only one thing I could think of to explain the change of my environment. I'm dead and I'm in, well I don't know what I'm in. It isn't the fire, brimstone, and eternal suffering of Hell, but it defiantly isn't Heaven. Wherever I am I have to get up, I can't just lay here and wait for others to help me. Once again I made an attempt to stand up, but I couldn't even lift my head this time. I feel exhausted but I can't fall sleep, not now not here. The only thing I can do is talk to myself in an attempt to stay awake.

"I told you the trip to Sky Peak would be lovely, the view from the summit was awe inspiring!" Jules said as they slithered forward through the forest clearing.

"It was, but next time please tell me in advance when we are going on a trip like that" I said as I walked alongside them, adjusting the satchel on my left side so the strap wasn't digging into my shoulder.

"I did, a week ago. Heh." The edges of Jules' lips began to curl up.

"You were distracted with your reading weren't you June~?"

I make a grunt as my response, Jules was right that I was distracted.

"I did wish you talked more with the Shaymin and other visitors, I talked to several of them and some of them would have liked you and to meet a Gabite."

I want to talk to others, I want more friends and acquaintances other than Jules but something in me does not want me to talk to others and it has been annoying me. Jules can start a conversation with someone they have never met before without effort, while I can barely make myself talk to anyone, even with those back where we live. I hate standing around and only speaking on occasion, I want to speak without me holding myself back. "I do too."

Just then I saw something bright hit the tops of the surrounding trees, the rays of the sunrise. A beautiful sight in certain locations such as here in Dawn Forest. Jules backed up slightly, likely trying to feel some of the sunlight on them, grass types like Serperior love their sunlight. "Please do not take too long Jules, I want to get back to River Village for a proper breakfast."

I did not hear a response from them. "Jules?"

Still nothing, I turn around and see them passing by a bush.

"Jules, what are you doing?"

Just as they went out of view they responded "June get over here, someone's knocked out!"

I ran over to where I last saw Jules, when I got there I saw them they were next to an Absol lying on the ground in a small opening.

"How are they?" As I walked over to the two I begin to open the satchel in case we need to use an item on the Absol.

"Okay, they're sleeping but they look weak. Get an oran berry for them." I reach into the satchel and pull one out, holding it for when they wake up.

"June, what is this?"

Jules points to a torn piece of a strange looking fabric next to the Absol. It was made of green, brown, and tan colors but did not make any clear pattern. On one side was something I have never seen before, a red circle surrounded on one side by some kind of plant and a half gear on the other both colored yellow. Inside the circle was a black triangle and two symbols I do not recognize. One was an open half circle, and the other a closed half circle.

"I do not know what this is. Maybe one of the guild heads would know?"

"Maybe this Absol knows what it is, it was with them June."

"We can ask them when they wake up."

I began to hear something in the distance. I wasn't sure what it was at first but when the noise came closer to me I could tell it was talking, someone has found me. My heart sank, I wish I wasn't found like this. Then I realized then that my body didn't feel sore anymore, I lifted my head and realized I could move again. I start to open my eyes and sit up. But when I opened my eyes the environment I was in changed again, I was in a meadow of some kind. "...Am I dead?"

"Nope! You're alive as we are!" I turned to face the person speaking, only to discover they weren't a person, but a talking green snake.

"Ahh! What the." I look over to the left and see, something. I'm not sure what it is was. It looks like a shark with legs, but then it too spoke.

"We are here to help."

Then the snake talked again "We found you here knocked out. Do you need to be taken back to the village?"

"Village? Where am I, and what are you two?"

"I'm Jules, a Serperior. To my right is June, a Gabite." June nods their head.

"You're about a mile outside of River Village. May we ask what you were doing here before we found you?"

I look around my environment again, this was not where I was before. Wherever I was before, I somehow got here without being disturbed. "I-I don't know how I got here."

"What's your name at least?" Jules asked.

"Alex, Uh." This is something I'd never could have thought of even if I tried. Talking snakes, changing environments, and who knows what else.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Alex, I haven't seen an Absol in years. They rarely venture from their home in the southern mountains." Jules said cheerfully.

"Absol?" I look to myself, my heart racing when I saw that I've changed into some kind of four legged animal "Ahh! W-What."

As I'm looking over myself June speaks. "Were you a human before?"

When I heard the word 'human' I immediately turned to June "Y-Yes!"

"As I suspected from your reaction to us and your amnesia, you are a human that was put into our world."

Wait, how was June able to tell I was human before? "How did you know I was a human?"

"You are not the first human to be brought to this world, every few years a human comes into this world and is transformed into a Pokemon. When they see themselves as a Pokemon they have a similar reaction."

I'm not alone. Maybe I can find find some of these humans and work with them to figure out what has happened. Until then however, I need to focus on my survival. "But, what do I do now?"

June holds out a blue object to me "Here is an oran berry, a type of food here."

"Can you please place it in my mouth? I have no hands." I said, with June nodding her head

I open my mouth for her to place it in. When June placed it and moved their claw like hands away I begin to eat the berry. It was bittersweet and had an earthy flavor, but I could eat it without issue.

"We can help you. We can also ask around our guild to see if anyone can help as well." Jules said.

I prefer to work on my own, but given the circumstances I'm in I have no option to go on my own. I nod my head "Thank you for this."

"Before we head to the village can you tell us what this is? We saw it next to you." June points to the ground and I saw part of my uniform.

"That's my uniform, well part of it."

"Uniform?" Both Jules and June asked at the same time.

"Something from my world, to distinguish people who are apart of something like a..."

I paused for a moment, they might not know concepts like a military or the police. What's a word that they would understand? Then it came to me. "Like a guild."

"Oh! What was the guild you were with in the human world?" Jules asked.

I better start preparing answers to various things at this rate. "I used guild for a lack of a better term, the term from my world is bureau. I was apart of my local area's Civil Defense Bureau."

"Bureau?" Once again both Jules and June ask at the same time. I can't blame either of them for wanting to know about my world but I don't want to stay in this forest all day.

"Can we head to River Village? I can answer any questions you have on the way there."

Both of them nod their head before Jules spoke "That works. We can also eat breakfast there."

June picks up my uniform and puts it over a satchel "I will carry it for now." Then all three of us began walking with me following them in the back.

As Jules, Alex, and I walk to River Village we talked and asked Alex all sorts of questions about the human world, and I have to say it sounds like paradise. Humans have a reliable source of food, free time for a several different hobbies, and easy movement around. However I found myself focusing on the discrepancies in Alex's case of being brought to this world. Typically when a human is brought here they can not remember details about their life as a human with the exception of their name and what Pokemon are. However Alex remembers everything about their life as a human and has never heard of Pokemon before. Jules and Alex stop, I almost bumped into Alex before I stopped. I looked into the distance and saw some of the tents, homes, and the main river of River Village.

"I'm guessing that's River Village?" Alex asked.

"Hmh! That's it Alex." Jules said.

When the two start moving again I go back to walking as well. Alex seams to be pure spirited but something ominous is under that, something that Alex might not be aware of. I need to discuss this with the guild's heads.
