"Maureen Johnson, would you care to grace the class with your opinion?" asked the teacher
"What? Oh, um ACT UP FIGHT AIDS!" She said with such a passion that she fell out of her desk, making everyone laugh.
"Miss Johnson I have had enough of you! Go see the headmaster!" She cried.
Maureen walked slowly to the headmasters office. She dragged her feet as she walked and stoped to take a drink from the water fountian before she finaly knocked on the office door.
"Maureen Johnson?" Asked the Headmaster.
"Headmaster Charleston?"She mocked back
"What are you here for? This is the second time today!"
"I was daydreaming in class and Mrs. Pristley asked for my opinion; I gave it, but I am not sure it was on the issue we were discussing in class," She said as she looked up at the cealing.
"Miss Johnson I don't understand why you can't simply pay attention in class! What was the opinion you gave?" He asked.
"Well Headmaster Charleston I said 'Act up fight AIDS," She said knowing what his reaction would be.
"THAT IS UNACTABLE! SUSPENSION! THREE DAYS, THAT IS ALL MISS JOHNSON!"
Maureen gave him a glare and stormed out of his office. She walked down the hallways of Hicksville High and heard a muffled sound coming from the Cafetera exit. She noticed it was coming from the trash can outside. She opened it up shocked at what she found. A thin body covered in blood was in the trash can.
"Oh my god, Honey! Are you okay?" She asked
"Eh, could be better, could be worse,"He grinned at her. He had bright blue eyes, brownish/red hair that was spiked and a beautiful smile even when his face was bloody. "The name's Ken... short for Kevin."
"You're funny, I like you. My name is Maureen Johnson. Who did this to you and why?" She asked as she helped him out of the trash can.
"If I told you that then you wouldn't be helping me anymore," he said with sadness.
"Try me, I will tell you why I just got suspended," she bribed
" Well my brother did this to me with the help of some friends. You see this morning I told my family I was gay, like most people they got angry when I told them," he said with pain dripping from his voice.
"Come on lets get you cleaned up at my house, thats where I'll tell you my story. Just go along with what I tell my parents," She said leading him to her house.
"Hi mom!" she said
"And where do you think you're going," Mrs. Johnson asked.
"Oh, we're going up to my room to go make out. I'll see you later," She lied through her teeth.
After Maureen closed the door Ken and Maureen started laughing.
"I plan on being an actress, can you tell?" She batted her eyelashes.
"Yeah, great job," He laughed
As Maureen Cleaned up Ken's wounds she said, " I think I am going to use your full name Kevin if you don't mind, I like it alot better than Ken!" She said
"Of course I don't mind, you saved me!" He said
