Actual summary:
After the event's of the old anime, Hao was killed by Yoh. The tournament was suspended but it's finally starting over again. Something's not right though.
Shamans start to disappear, and spirits turn dark and vengeful. Soon the whole place is flooded with a dark presence, but it doesn't stop there, it wants to devour every soul on Earth.
Who could be behind it all? Why is this happening, was the chaos predicted by the star of destiny, already set in motion? Are they too late to choose a shaman king, and have to stop the end of the world on their own?
These are the thoughts of the remaining shamans, who alongside Yoh and Hao have to work together to destroy it, before all the spirits are gone for good. Will they be able to put aside their bitterness? Will Yoh be able trust Hao as they get more entangled in the darkness around the new enemy? Will Hao be able to recover and forgive his little brother?
(You can treat this fanfic as a lost chapter between the old and new anime. Focusing a little more on Hao's character, as well as their bond with Yoh. I also tried to include a few moments with Opacho, because I felt just wasn't enough of their relationship in the anime.)
Complete, in the process of translation.
The original was 40 chapters, but I've decided to make shorter chapters now, so you can read nice and quick. It might be somewhere around 50-60 chapters, we'll see.
According to plan, I will post new chapters weekly, or at least bi-weekly as I have the time to translate and rewrite old clumsy details.
Shaman King, of course belongs to Takei Hiroyuki-sama, and everything written below is just a fan's work with the purpose of pure entertainment. Now. Enjoy \(⁀▽⁀ )/
Chapter One
Restless Soul
Light hit the glass towers. It climbed slow but steady up on the city of skyscrapers, until it reached the silent suburbs. There was fog covering the base of the houses, empty streets and treetrunks, thin but vast that felt like suffocating on that morning.
To some, it was refreshing though. The sun climbed high enough to pierce through all of Tokyo, only stopping at a red silhouette.
"So small" The figure whispered with a warm grin on his face. Then stood without his feet touching the tiles.
"Looks like my day has risen" he turned his head over his shoulder, as if talking to the house beneath him. "once more. Heh he he." With that he vanished, but his laughing voice kept lingering in the air, just like the fog.
Beneath, in the room illuminated by the first sunbeams, Kyouyama Anna jumped from her sleep like it was on fire. She took her time turning her head outside.
"This dream again" she tightened the grip on her blanket "Could it be really..." Her voice sank and sharpened "Hao?"
And catched the glimpse of a shooting star, oddly similar to the star of destiny.
