XXX
An unknown location in Japan: 6 years later…
It was noon in forest, near by a beach and ocean a few yards away.
A white-haired young man, 18 years of age was focused on a task of training. Both hands seem to be plunged his hands into a clay barrel. Right, left, right, left. Over and over. Again, and again. Sweat drenched around the young man, as he was shirtless from the hot sun that showed his well-toned body, transform and remain for years of dedication and training transform his body into a fighter! The white-haired young man had brown Gi pants and rope for a belt. His hair was natural white, no longer short haired, but reached to his shoulders with his bangs cut just enough to not blind his vision.
Swish! Crack! Swish! Crack Swish! Crack! Swish! Crack! Swish! The noise was odd and continuous, from the white-haired young man continued motions to plunge his hands into the clay barrel with mysterious…contents. His hands were covered in scratches that leak blood and few missing finger nails on his hands. This self-torture was a key part of hand and shoulder conditioning. The white-haired young man shoulders produce torque, twisting his wrist to 360 degrees, plunging one hand in the barrel while the other emerges. His other hand revealed scratches from leaking blood and few missing or chipped finger nails.
What was within they clay barrel?! Was it water?! Was it sand?!
The answer is neither, for it was Gravel!
This was a part of the white-haired young man several years of training to acquire- Rakshasa's Palm technique of the Koei Style!
For training to be able to use Rakshasa's Palm, the first step comes by the user constantly twisting their hand and striking the surface of water in a barrel until the soft water feels like a rock tearing away their skin. This teaches them the sensation of "twisting the force". In the next steps, the user must strike sand, then after that, gravel. In the final step, the user must use the Rakshasa's Palm to strike flesh.
The pain that this white-haired young man has been through, has bore fruit of two deadly weapons that his hands have become!
It takes at least 8 years to reach striking flesh and complete the training, as Sensei-Ganzan repeated to the white-haired young man. The white-haired young man broke that record by 6 years of training and has already practice his hands on the flesh of his enemies in The Inside, those who have repeatedly try to kill him for his few worldly positions.
6 years of white-haired young man training of Koei Style was in The Inside.
This white-haired young man was once a boy name, Lincoln Loud.
Now, he was Shion who escaped The Inside and was a practitioner of the Koei Style!
Six years of learning to speak, understand and crudely read Japanese.
They were, in fact, showing the fruits of Shion dedication and labor!
Finally, after hours of training Rakshasa Palm, Shion stop his ritual exercise and picked up a cloth to wipe the blood of his hands and sweat from his brows, before heading towards the beach.
Shion was interested in witness how far Sensei-Ganzan was training his younger fellow pupil learning the Koei Style other signature technique, Blink.
It been weeks when Shion Sensei brought the boy and Shion would be lying if he did not feel threaten by the newcomer presence. Shion asked his master if he become incompetent in learning the Koei Style and was seeking to replace him with a better student, bluntly in front of the boy. Shion would not harm the boy. In fact, Shion last several years was to help achieve his Sensei-Ganzan dream in reviving the Koei Style and making the style stronger than ever has been adopted into becoming Shion dream as well over the years.
"This boy has potential. I wish to see what Kiryu will do if he had proper guidance and training. The Koei Style must be revived and survive. Having another student ensures my dream will more likely become a reality."
Shion understood this, but kept his distance from the boy known as Kiryu Setsuna. The Inside fostered only the strong and weak were taken for resources, but Sensei-Ganzan evaluation only mattered. Taira Ganzan was the Master of the Koei Style and Shion was still his student. Ganzan would only acknowledge Shion as a Master when he contributed technique to Koei Style. Easier said than done. Shion duties were to continue his training, and being a sparring partner for his master. Shion skills and strength grew to where Ganzan actually had good work-out and did not need to search out weaker opponents to practice his Koei Style. Of course, enemies that seek them out were great practice to train in the Flesh. Stronger opponents were hard to come by, but always fell under Ganzan or Shion use of the Koei Style.
Eventually, Shion arrive to the beach to see the ocean, but hear and see a nostalgic view.
Thump! Sensei-Ganzan strikes Kiryu with a tree branch. Blink! Sensei-Ganzan avoid Kiryu clumsy strike. Thump! Sensei Ganzan strike again with a tree branch. Blink! Kiryu threw sand at Sensei-Ganzan, but the gruff-looking old man already move. Blink! Thump! Blink! Thump! Blink! Thump! And the process continues with Sensei-Ganzan mercilessly hitting Kiryu with that tree branch until Kiryu discovered the lesson that Sensai-Ganzan and Kiryu trying in vain to attack Ganzan or truly….to understand how Blink footwork technique of the Koei Style.
Shion remember that feeling of frustration and joy of achievement. It took Shion 4 years to achieve Blink technique and continue to grow faster and familiar with that technique. The relentless pain that Sensei-Ganzan strikes were with a tree branch in his hands. Hours and hours, bruise after bruise. Shion could have sworn he had fractured some bones from Sensei-Ganzan hitting him so many times. It was worse when Sensei-Ganzan soaked the tree branch in water and made the stick heavier with strikes that hit Shion in the past, which Kiryu would have to endure to gain first steps of understanding and attain Blink as his own technique.
Still, Shion could not shake the feeling that there something more…dangerous about the handsome young boy. Something much more dangerous hidden under his mask of beauty.
Thud! Before Shion eyes and drawing him out of his thoughts, was a collapsed Kiryu on his back and greedily sucking in air. Sensei-Ganzan stopped his attack and the practice seem to enter a lull of a break.
"Can you move, boy?" Sensei-Gansa asked, which Shion could hear. Kiryu gave no reply, but his panting breathes. "If you cannot move, then stay there lying down. But if you want me to take you as my student, then get up." Shion heard Sensei-Ganzan…motivational words. His Sensei said the same words to Shion and this would bring out more energy.
Shion knew in his mind, Sensei-Ganzan was giving a last chance of control and to climb out of the hell that was The Inside for Kiryu, which was the same incentive for Shion. His identity and being weas created by Taira Ganzan and he was forever grateful for that, but he also feared what would happen if Taira Ganzan ever abandon him.
Was this his psychological weakness? Would Shion find strength now to leave his Master, by surviving with Koei Style that he knows now?
No. Shion promise to dedicate his life to Koei Style and the Koei Style would lead back to Taira Ganzan. Shion would be loyal student, never shirking from that promise he made those years ago.
Shion…did not want to be alone, like he was on The Inside for a whole year.
"…was that the Koei Style, Blink?" Kiryu finally spoke and got up. Shion could hear the words very well. "I want it! It is amazing!" Kiryu proclamation was made and Shion felt a slight smile on Kiryu lips as he observed from untop of hill, but his eyes seem to have more a…demented glee to them. The Koei Style was amazing, but it did not belong to Kiryu. The Koei style had two users. This boy…had an eerie smile and eyes of…madness.
Who was Shion to judge one if one is sane or not? Shion has killed other children his age, younger or older, and felt…nothing. Just a purpose of survival and further the Koei Style mastery by killing adults and fighters that could push himself to become stronger.
"Then come take it from me." Sensei-Ganzan had order, before Blink! He vanished from Kiryu sight and Thump! A blow crashed into Kiryu right side of his skull. The boy staggered and his legs had wide gap to register balance, before Kiryu began his attack on Sensei-Ganzan.
The process continued before Shion eyes, watching and waiting. Minutes passed as Sensei-Ganzan trained Kiryu. Judging how the youngest student of Taira Ganzan would-
Spish! Shion eyes widen a bit, as Sensei-Ganzan stick hit nothing but sand and not landing on Kiryu body.
Shion could not believe how…fast Kiryu was picking up the technique. It too him two years to dodge Ganzan blows, but Kiryu accomplished dodging a blow in a few weeks of training. It made Shion felt weak and inferior at Kiryu success, but he was also admiring Kiryu ability to learn so quickly compare to himself. Could Kiryu be that gifted or…was it something else? That was on Shion mind.
"Good. Your getting the hang of it." Sensei-Ganzan said and continued, "It seems the sandy ground has revealed the secret of the Blink to you. The essence of the Martial Arts is to 'Look'. And your insight is commendable."
It was true. Compared to Kiryu…Shion felt ashamed, because Kiryu made Shion feel like a slow-learner. Perhaps it was correct for Sensei-Ganzan to acquire Kiryu as student. Just a few weeks and Kiryu was already unlocking/discovering the Koei Style, where it took Shion years.
"You already know 'Martial Arts', don't you?" Sensei-Ganzan spoke his truth and this gave Shion insight to Kiryu possible genius talent. Kiryu knew another Martial Arts? Why has he not used his other Martial Art? That was on Shion mind.
…Did Kiryu have a Ace up his sleeve by learning another Martial Art?
"Don't try and hide it from me. Your movements are not those of an amateur. Shion has shown me that example when I trained him for years. Answer me this. Why do you not use your techniques?" Sensei-Ganzan questioned Kiryu and Shion was curious for that answer, but suspected neither of them would get it.
Kiryu answer was silence. It was defying, but said all there is to be said.
Kiryu did not want Sensei-Ganzan to know.
Still, perhaps this was another reason why Sensei-Ganzan took Kiryu as his pupil. Shion did not have much Martial Art training outside of Koei Style, besides amateur use of brawling and weapon wielding with a knife. Was Sensei-Ganzan trying to mix other techniques into the Koei Style?
Inspiration struck Shion with awe at a creative notion...
Could mixing other Martial Arts in the Koei Style create a new Technique?
"…No matter. There is nothing wrong with a Martial Artist keeping an 'Ace-in-the-hole', which he reveals not even to his Master." Sensei-Ganzan spoke those words, which shocked and gave Shion ideas.
Thoughts and ideas that took over Shion train of thought...
Was that Shion weakness? Was his dedication to the Koei Style his weakness and he should mix in other Martial Arts? Would the Koei Style grow stronger, even if he never told Sensei-Ganzan his 'Ace-in-the-hole'?
All Shion knows outside the Koei Style was a Brawler Style, that he learned from experience and successes along with failures and defeats for one year in The Inside as boy. Learning the Koei Style gave Shion power and old fantasies of becoming something more. Perhaps being a hero. Shion used to love Superheroes, but killing people had dimmed his hope on such endeavors.
…Ace, that was some Comic Book hero Shion used to look up to in his past as Linc-
"Your training will begin in earnest tomorrow. For today, you may rest. Shion! It is time for our daily spars." Sensei-Genzan words broke Shion out of his mind.
So his master knew he was observing them. Shion should have known he could not hide his presence or observation from his master, even if Shion was not trying to.
It was time for more training, sparing with his relentless master.
Afterwards, he would have lunch with you Master and his fellow kohai.
XXX
Master and pupil faced each other.
Taira Ganzan study his first pupil, as Shion does the same. Both fighters were in a deceiving relaxed position, standing straight up and arms loosely at their sides. Neither fighter moving, yet on guard waiting for the other to initiate the first move.
This was a Strike 'Pre-Initiative' technique- Which one strikes the moment the opponent thinks of moving by detecting their 'Inception of Intent'. This a technique new to Shion and has been in development has been in the works for two years, while Taira Ganzan is a moderate level in this technique given his age and experience. Taira Ganzan was trying to develop Shion to use Strike 'Pre-Initiative', given Shion passable Foresight and push Shion further to predict his movements.
Most of Taira Ganzan and Shion fights outside their own spars were safe. They did not battle to the death.
Here, in their spar sessions…was more practice and learning curving to be develop. To grade each other.
The only limit was no Rakshasa's Palm and any move consider fatal but restrained would go to the victor of the spar.
Blink! Shion makes the first move, hand out stretched ready to strike at Ganzan. Blink! Ganzan move hair-length dodge and outside to the left of Shion body to counter with a kick from his left. Blink! Shion dodge and attempt to sweep kick to Ganzan left leg, which had most of his body weight and balance.
Ganzan jump and his right arm cocked back, then strike out at Shion. Blink! Shion appear just as Ganzan attack missed and his left arm cocked back to strike at Ganzan open right side. Instead, Ganzan tumbled to the right and quickly got to a upright position. Blink! Shion tried capitalizing on Ganzan unguarded position, his right arm cocked back. What Shion did not expect was for Ganzan to rush forward and Bam! Headbutt Shion in the nose, which was bleeding and broken, but Shion followed through with a powerful straight right into Ganzan torso. Bam! Shion attack landed and Ganzan spat spit and gasped for air.
Ganzan then got in a seated position, but kept most of his face hidden.
Did Shion defeat his master in this spar and would his master admit defeat?
When Ganzan smirked though, Shion knew he made mistake and felt it. Ganzan arms grabbed his right arm, more specifically his right index finger. Ganzan classic Jiu-jutsu teaching was showing, for a Finger-Grab in traditional Jiu-jitsu could be consider a crippling blow that change the course of the fight.
Except Ganzan was not done…
Ganzan capitalize on Shion slow reaction with Idori! Ganzan shifted his center of gravity and flipped Shion mid-air, as Ganzan lowered balance into a sitting position, getting ready to complete his technique.
Slam! Shion landed on his back, with the air knocked out of him, gasping for air.
A Jiu jitsu technique where the user sits down in sitting position and waits for the opponent to attack and then nullify that attack and place the opponent into submission as well. Idori was created for self-defense while sitting in sitting position, which is a very vulnerable position.
Shion was vulnerable and Ganzan again, capitalize on that.
Bam! Ganzan left fist hit Shion face, as Ganzan right arm held Lincoln right arm.
After that, Shion lost consciousness for a few moments, before Shion was greeted with wet sensation all over his head and upper torso.
Too much water was in Shion mouth!
"Ahh!" Shion cried out and spit out water, as Ganzan had a bucket of salt water to wake up of Shion from his unconscious state. Taste of copper entered his upper lip, made Shion realize his nose was still bleeding and fixed his broken nose.
Pop-Crack! Tears appeared slightly in Shion vision from realigning his broken nose with his left hand. A pain Shion was unfortunately very familiar with.
"Seems to be my victory for this part of the spar today, Shion." Ganzan smirked, saying so proudly that he knocked out his student.
Sensei-Ganzan always love the taste of victory.
Shion regain senses before speaking in a dry tone, "You are always so brutal, Sensei-Ganzan. It been while, since I felt this pain and somehow it always you inflecting it. Do you enjoy feeling your students' body with pain?"
Besides teaching the Koei Style, Taira Ganza help break the language barrier for Shion and the 6 years that passed help Shion acquire to speak Japanese and read the kaji. Ganzan did not want his student ignorant of the world around him.
"Sometimes. Now, reset your right index finger." Ganzan pointed out and Shion looked at his right hand.
The gruff-old man really dislocated Shion finger. Most likely because of Shion hand-conditioning, was the reason he did not feel it as much…or Ganzan dislocated his finger when he delivered his knock-out punch. His right index finger was loose and in a odd angle, with his knuckle swelling red and purple from the injury. Shion brought his left hand to his index finger, felt same pain that would have most people crying and wailing but for Shion he gain far deeper thresh holds pain that this felt like nothing.
Crack-Pop! Shion shifted his finger back in place and his right index finger was swollen red and inflamed like a purple/red grape fruit, but it would heal eventually. Pain was Shion friend, because it meant Shion was alive to feel something. When he did not feel pain, that is when Shion should worry because his injury might have sent him into shock all across his body of worse type of injury. Such as head injury or other major broken/dislocated bones on his body.
"Today match was acceptable, but you need develop your Foresight to predict your opponents moves and counter them. Your still young, but given time and experience you will develop a remarkable skill of Forseight." Ganzan stated, with his arms crossed and Shion notice the gruff-looking old man chest was blossoming a bruise.
"Amazing…"
Someone else spoke up, and it was then Shion registered that Kiryu Setsuna was witness of Sensei-Ganzan and Shion match. Oh well. Fair is fair. Shion watched Kiryu training and it was only fair for Kiryu to watch Shion training. The demonstration of Blink technique in a spar must of surprised and excited the boy, judging by the smile.
Shion then got up and walked to address Kiryu.
"Hello. Sorry for not formally greeting you. My name is Shion and I will be your senior disciple in the future. Sorry for the…cold reception when we first meant a few weeks ago." Shion spoke formally, given that he did not want Kiryu to feel unwanted. Kiryu earned a right to be Sensei-Ganzan student and learn the Koei Style. More so than Shion did and Shion recognize that Kiryu was a gifted child.
"Oh! Hello, I am Setsuna Kiryu. A pleasure to meet you. I heard from Sensei-Ganzan that he had another student, but I did not…" Kiryu spoke politely, but did not know how to phrase the next set of words.
Shion smiled and finish, "Foreign or different. Either is fine. No need to worry." Honestly, Shion felt more self-conscious about his missing upper front teeth than being a foreigner in Japan. Shion got some looks and surprises when traveled with Sensei-Ganzan or spoke Japanese and read the language.
What he worried about his pronouncing certain words incorrectly or accidently saying a completely differnt phrase he did not mean.
He missed his two upper front teeth. Even the chiped tooth...
"Shion." Ganzai spoke up, causing both Kiryu and Shion to look at their Sensei, "Kiryu is born and raised from The Inside." This surprised Shion, but Kiryu show nothing bothered about Sensei-Ganzan revealing that fact. Ganzan continued to speak, "Shion was not born on The Inside, but was brought to The Inside and survive a year."
It was Kiryu turn to look slightly surprise and Shion just sighed at where his master was going with this. Sensei-Ganzan wanted his students to get along and bond with each other. Despite his merciless and brutal training…Sensei-Ganzan had soft spot for his students. At least…that what Shion has come to known after so many years of traveling/training with the man.
"Before I leave you both to yourselves to relax, Shion I have task for you! A demonstrate the Rakshasa's Palm for Kiryu on that boulder. Kiryu, this will be the other technique of the Koei Style. I will be taking a break for today to prep for Kiryu training and Shion continue your routine." With that said, the Master of the current Koei Style left his two students. Either to relax or hunt for food.
There was boulder near the clearing where Shion and Sensei-Ganzan was sparing, so that would be Shion job to demonstrate the power of the Koei Style to his younger disciple.
Shion used his Gi callor to wipe the blood off his nose and then went to the boulder that his Master pointed to, that stood out from the trees. It was smooth rocky boulder that would give Kiryu a good visual on what the Rakshasa's Palm was capable of. Kiryu followed closely by Shion, but kept his distance. Shion look at the boulder and squared off with it, getting read to release his attack. A moment passed to collect himself…
And then he released his frustration!
"RAAHH!" Shion left arm and shoulder generated torque and his Rakshasa's Palm meant the boulder. Swish! Crack! A large swirling pattern emerged in a spider webs of cracks on the once smooth boulder. Looking at his work, Shion felt like he could do more. That perhaps that would be something to consider to work more in the future and research Martial Arts that could carve through rock and how Shion could push his Koei Style further.
Perhaps one day, the boulder would be destroyed by his Rakshasa's Palm...
"Amazing!" Kiryu spoke out loud and Shion look at the boy. His face was of excitement, but twisted in a desire to take that technique as well and something more…sinister.
Shion shook his head. Shion lived on The Inside for a year before Sensei-Ganzan found him and Kiryu was born and raised in The Inside to what Shion assume was his pre-teen years. Shion did not want to imagine what drive and psychological torment that Kiryu went through to survive. Shion should not judge, because whatever Kiryu did what he had to do for his survival. The Inside was his reason Shion became a killer and he had to accept that both he and Kiryu were…broken.
Anyone influence by The Inside was broken to some degree...
"Rakshasa's Palm, A palm strike with a twisting impact. The force from the technique is transmitted from the back to the shoulders, the upper arms, then amplified and transformed into a powerful twisting blow by the spiral motion of the forearms; as a result, its power is halved at point-blank range because the forearms cannot be rotated fully. Due to the extreme amount of torque this technique applies to the user's physical strikes, the user's blows become able to disable limbs, rip organs and crack bones." Shion explained and he could honestly see Kiryu showing…ecstasy.
Given how Kiryu looks or face or body, Shion would bet that Kiryu might have been forced into sexual favors or used his sexuality to survive. It was logical choice to play to ones-strength and Kiryu had bishounen looks.
Shion would not judge Kiryu if he did prostitute himself to survive.
Though, Shion knew underneath Kiryu handsome features would emerge a deadly fighter...maybe something even more sinister.
"How are you with pain?" Shion spoke up, breaking Kiryu out his spaced out look on his face.
"What?" Kiryu spoke, his face turn to a pleasant and well-manner smile.
"How are you with pain? The Raksasa's Palm will require…hand conditioning to achieve this technique." Shion spoke truthfully.
"I don't like pain." Kiryu spoke honestly and Shion shook his head and showed his hands to Kiryu, so the boy could get a clear view. Shion hands told a story of years of training, commitment, hardship, strength, weakness and pain. Scars, missing nails and chipped nails decorated his hand. Shion hands grew quite large, slender and muscled to gain some form of mastery over Rakshasa's Palm.
"For training to be able to use Rakshasa's Palm, the first step comes by the user constantly twisting their hand and striking the surface of water in a barrel until the soft water feels like a rock tearing away the skin. This teaches us the sensation of "twisting the force". In the next steps, the user must strike sand, then after that, gravel. In the final step, the user must use the Rakshasa's Palm to strike Human flesh." Shion spoke clearly at the path that Kiryu would go to achieve his Rakshasa's Palm.
"Sensei-Ganzan took 8 years to acquire this technique. It has taken me 6 years. Even with both techniques of the Koei Style, I still have years to go to gain experience to defeat someone like Sensei-Ganzan." Shion explained.
"Hmmm…Only two techniques?" Kiryu spoke curiously.
"Yes. Only the two. Ganzan-Sensei passed his knowledge of Koei Style to us, but there are only two. Either we add more techniques to Koei Style or Sensei-Ganzan will or the Koei Style will only have two techniques. It our responsibility to practice and improve the Koei style." Shion spoke, and felt that this was the truth. The next generation to improve on the past techniques of the past.
Otherwise….the Koei Style would die by the second generation and would be forgotten...forever.
"I don't like pain, but I want this technique and make it my…." Kiryu spoke up, his last words were more possessive that what Shion expect, but he understood in some way. Shion hated the pain, but he grew up to endure the pain. Pain that told Shion was alive and pain that would be everyday friendly reminder that Shion was alive.
Anything Shion needed to do for the Koei Style and give back to Sensei-Ganzan for giving him his strength and speed. For the life that Lincoln Loud had on the Inside had died and Taira Ganzan breath back life into the body that was Shion, who grew up into the young man he was today.
The Koei Style was a part of Shion identity now.
"May I see both your arms, Kiryu?" Shion spoke and Kiryu actually nodded, then Shion examined them.
Kiryu had these strong slender arms, but that was not what Shion was look for.
"I am going to gently twist your wrist in the fashion of Rakshasa's Palm, just to see your wrist flexibility. Is this okay?" Shion asked, and got nod confirmation from Kiryu.
With that Shion started with twisting his arms gently from left to the right. He was impressed, because Shion notice that Kiryu flexibility was 360 degrees, similar Shion flexibility.
"You will generate a lot of torque, just as much as me. You and I and similar wrest flexibility that reaches 360 degrees to generate more powerful Rakshasa's Palm technique." Shion state.
"Really? How much can Sensei-Ganzan generate?" Kiryu asked curiously.
"180 degrees." Shion answered.
"So, would his technique of the Rakshasa's Palm would be weaker?" Kiryu stated.
"It is, but Sensei-Ganzan is not a weak man and will use other methods to defeat an opponent who can also use the Koei Style." Shion stated this fact. Just because one person could punch harder, kick harder, be faster or be stronger; does not mean they could not be defeated in a fight.
"I see…" Kiryu stated and Shion got an idea.
"I have some tea and snacks to eat. If you wish, you can join." Shion asked and Kiryu just nodded.
They eventually got to a campsite area where Sensei-Ganzan and Shion camped out. Shion distributed the snacks and warmed the tea, as they enjoyed the silence. It was nice, listening to the nature and wilderness around them. So peaceful…
"What country do you come from?" Kiryu asked, honest and curious question.
"America." Shion spoke and continue to speak, "I was stolen on my way from school by my abductors and it took possible months for them to travel to The Inside, in Japan."
Shion…still thought of his family from time to time. All his friends, sisters and his parents…How things could change and hope their lives were doing well. Shion was also afraid…how his family would react to the man he was now? Shion was 183 cm in height, and weigh 73 kg…though he forgot what that would mean in feet or pounds measurements used in America. Shion was well toned and in great shape. Shion even had okay face, barring his missing upper front teeth. Shion could see some specks of the little boy that he once was before his transformation under Taira Ganzan tutelage.
Although, his family would be concern as to why his hands were scared and had pink-red hue to the constant healing of skin on the hands.
Shion walked Kiryu to their small camp, where most their belongs and some tea was boiling. Shion got some cups out to pour himself and Kiryu some tea.
"Before…" Shion spoke up hesitantly, Kiryu attention was interested, "Before, The Inside, my name was Lincoln Loud. Sadly, that boy died and Shion had to be born, otherwise the boy would have turned into one the same monsters on The Inside. This boy had a family…but does not seek it out in fear how they would react to the man he is now." With that said, Shion drank tea and Kiryu just looked at senior pupil and nodded.
It was tough opening up to someone about this and it was only the surface of what Shion felt that he revealed to Kiryu
Shion would try to bond with Kiryu as best as he can.
It was awkward, but it was Shion way to open up. It better to do it sooner, then later. Kiryu need to know enough about Shion to continue to have his trust, while Shion did not want Kiryu to feel forced to open up to him. Shion left the door open for Kiryu to reveal his past…in time. Shion did not go into great details on who he was either.
Lincoln Loud died in The Inside.
Shion was born and lived for the Koei Style. His life revolved around training, fighting and killing.
The Loud Family and his friends…would be shocked and horrified to what the little boy that they remember who loved comics and made time for his sisters had become…a killer.
Still, something never changed with Lincoln Loud connections to Shion.
Shion rummage to his stuff and found a Mangaka to read, Lone Wolf and Cub, by writer Kazuo Koike and artist Goseki Kojima. It was Shion treasure and they were in good condition to read over and over to pass the time when not training. Kiryu was curious and Shion just handed Kiryu one of the volumes he acquired over his journey with Sense-Ganzan in there travels.
It would be one year that Kiryu genius was show, by mastering Rakshasa's Palm and Blink of the Koei Style in a year.
They would also find more Mangaka in The Inside whenever they fought or raided other camps of challengers that Sensei-Ganzan need for resources of food and water.
…unfortunately, Kiryu would also discover body pillows. Though, Kiryu would be introduce found taste Mangaka stories from Shion, they were Yaoi theme romance or horror to Kiryu tastes.
Eh? Shion should not judge somebody personal preference.
Kiryu would be fine companion and fellow discipline in Koei Style...until Shion leave or Sensei-Ganzan died in combat.
