Happy Friday! I'm not sure exactly when next week I will have the next chapter posted for you guys. I'm not sure how busy my weekend is going to be, or even Monday, which is normally a busy day. I am working on getting this one wrapped up over the next two months. Have a good weekend!

Enjoy!

Wade working late meant that he needed to drive the distance to the Jammer. It also meant that he could give Zoe a ride to the practice. They shared a sweet and short kiss outside of the practice, aware of those lingering around town square, and Sofia sitting in the backseat of the car. Before leaving home, Zoe asked Wade to drop Sofia off with George, as they were running late, and she wouldn't have time to do so. George would be more than willing to pick Sofia up from the practice, but Wade figures he can use the time to talk to his friend about the new development with Zoe and Sofia before the news spreads through town too much.

"Daddy!" Sofia giggled, running into her dad's arms for a big hug. "Guess what?" She asked her father. Wade let them talk, knowing that George is going to track him down.

"Hmm, can I have a hint?" He asked, not knowing what his daughter is going to tell him.

"Nope!" She laughed. "That's not any fun," she told him.

"Then I don't know what it could be," he told her, trying to think of what it could be. "Did you get a pet?" He asked. Sofia shook her head. "Are you going on a trip with your mom?" He asked, Sofia shaking her head, holding her laughter in. "I give up, what is it?" He asked. He hadn't heard Zoe tell him that she was going to surprise Sofia with anything major, so he didn't know what it could be.

"Wade lives with us," she whispered in his ear.

"Huh, is that so?" George asked, glancing over to his friend, laughing behind the counter talking to Meatball. Sofia nodded her head. "Are you okay with that?" He asked. When it comes to Wade and Zoe, he knew it was only going to be a matter of time before things took off between the two best friends. He's happy they finally stopped dancing around their feelings for each other. But as Sofia's father, he has to make sure that she is okay with that change in her life.

"Yep, he makes the best grits," she smiled. "And he loves Mommy, and mommy loves him. And he gets to be daddy two," she said, holding two fingers up. "If I want him to be," she said in a sad voice.

"Do you not want him to be daddy number two?" He asked, concerned only for Sofia. He doesn't want his daughter to feel uncomfortable when she's at home. He's certain that Zoe and Wade have had this conversation with her.

"I like Wade, Daddy," she told him, smiling at her dad.

"Okay," George replied. Whatever the concern of his daughter, he'd have to ask Wade or Zoe about it. "If anything is bugging you, Sofia, please talk to me about it, okay?" He asked his daughter.

"Okay," Sofia told him, squirming to be put down.

George watched as her feet hit the floor joining Lavon and Lemon at their table. He frowned not knowing what was going on with his ex-girlfriend and the mayor. Not that it was any of his business as he's in a happy relationship with Annabeth. Knowing his daughter is in good hands, he headed to the bar to talk to Wade.

"Hey man, you have a minute to talk?" George asked, catching Wade with no one around.

"Yeah, what's going on?" Wade asked, tossing the rag down, joining George away from prying ears. No need to start gossip that isn't even true.

"Sofia told me the big news," he said, keeping his worry for his daughter hidden for the time being.

"Please don't be pissed that we didn't consult you about that," Wade sighed, his eyes darting around making sure no one was around to hear them and the conversation they're in the middle of hashing out.

"You're kidding right?" George asked with a dead-serious expression on his face. Wade nodded, holding back his sigh. He hadn't thought he would need to get permission from George to move in with the woman he loves. Zoe hadn't been worried about it, so he hadn't thought to bring it up. He was following Zoe's lead where it came to George. Talking to George about it is what he was going to do today. He respects his friend enough to tell him the news before anyone else in town starts spreading it around. "I'm not mad about it," George broke, letting his friend relax. "I don't need to know what you guys decide on as a couple. I'm positive that you guys ran the idea by Sofia," he said.

"We did," Wade nodded. "I wouldn't feel comfortable, much like Zoe if Sofia wasn't okay with it," he assured his friend.

"Is everything okay with Sofia?" George asked, casting his gaze to where Sofia was sitting with Lemon and Lavon. "While explaining the whole father situation she seemed a little down, any idea as to why?" He asked, turning back to his friend.

"She was worried that her morning routine with Zoe would be ruined because I live there," Wade sighed. He couldn't think of anything else that it could be. "I think she's just worried that things are going to change and she wouldn't be able to do what she and Zoe have grown accustomed to doing over the years," he voiced.

"It makes sense," George nodded. "I know this is new territory for all of this, but it doesn't have to be hard or awkward," he shared.

"I don't want it to be that way for anyone, it shouldn't be like that. We're all friends," Wade quickly commented. Because Sofia is in the picture shouldn't change how they act around one another. Things don't have to be any more complicated because of her. They're adults and they can act like it, and it's not like they hate one another. "Whatever is going on with Sofia now or at any time in the future, we can sort it out together, as her family," he said. That is what they are to Sofia.

"I am happy for you Wade," George told his friend. "We've all seen this coming, even when you weren't here. It was just a matter of time," he shrugged. "I can't be mad about you going for what you want," he was in the process of saying.

"It's just Sofia," Wade said, cutting his friend off. "I get that you have to make sure that she is good," Wade nodded, taking a look around to see that Wanda has him covered. "I wouldn't have moved in if Sofia wasn't okay with it," he told his friend. It would have taken more time to move in, but it's what he would have done. Sofia isn't his, but that doesn't mean she doesn't come first to him as well. Sofia's comfort comes before his own, at least in this predicament.

"Yeah it's Sofia," George nodded a small smile gracing his lips. "A part of me knows that," he shared, swooping down to catch his daughter as she came barreling at him. "It's just hard to understand and accept that others feel the same way," he shrugged. "Ready, sweetpea?" George asks his daughter.

"Yep. Bye Wade."

"Bye Sofia," Wade waved. Sofia waved back, laughing with her dad as they left the Jammer, letting Wade get back to work.

Zoe sat at her desk, writing notes in the file for Griffin. Closing the file she leaned back in her chair, sighing seeing her friend entering her office. Neither one says a word as Lemon shuts the door behind her. The only noise is the clank of her heels against the hardwood floors in her office. The office that use to be her father's, the very office he rarely uses anymore.

"What can I do for you Lemon?" Zoe asked, picking her pen up to tap against her desk, eyeing her friend up to see if she can read her like when they were teens.

"I want you to know that your secret is safe with me, as long as you don't go spreading rumors about me being at Lavon's this morning," she stated, a cool, calm, and collected expression on her face, even if she is feeling anything but.

"What are you talking about?" Zoe asked, dropping the pen. "Are you and Lavon dating?" She asked with a smile on her face. She's wanted her friend to find happiness. They had hit a rough patch when it came out that George is Sofia's father. But they put it behind them, while after they worked through the issues there. It took a bit more time for them to fully be friends they once were but here they are.

"You honestly didn't know?" Lemon asked sighing. She thought for sure that Wade would have told Zoe when he returned to the carriage house.

"Did I know that you and Lavon are a thing?" Zoe asked, shaking her head. "No, I didn't know. What secret of mine are you willing to keep?" Zoe asked with a frown. She doesn't have any secrets.

"I thought for sure that Wade would have told you about running into each other in Lavon's kitchen," she explained, slouching in her chair, the one thing she had been taught not to be doing.

"Ah," Zoe nodded. "I don't care that anyone knows that Wade has moved in, the whole town knew it would be a matter of time," Zoe explained. The downfall of living in such a small town, but they mean well. "But no, he didn't tell me about seeing you in Lavon's kitchen this morning," she told her friend. Zoe's certain that Wade was waiting on Lemon to be ready to share the news herself. "But, your secret is safe with me, Lemon," she assured her friend.

"We haven't been dating that long and I don't want it out yet," Lemon explained with a sigh. "I want to have time where we can just be without the input of this town. You get that right?" Lemon asked, looking at her friend.

"More than you know," Zoe nodded. "I'm here if you need to talk about anything," she assured her friend.

"Always," Lemon smiled. "So he moved in, how's that going?" Lemon smirked.

"It's been one night," Zoe laughed. "The one night was pretty dang good," she giggled. "This morning, not so much with Sofia. I hate that she had to be so unsure of something we've been doing since she was a baby," she sighed.

"It's a big thing for her too," Lemon nodded. "In no time, it will be like Wade has always been there in that role."

"I know," Zoe nodded. "It's just going to take time," she tacked on, chewing on her lip.

"I feel like there's something you're not telling me," Lemon said, eyeing her friend up. "You know you can tell me anything and it won't leave us," she stated.

"Always," Zoe nodded, repeating Lemon's word from earlier. Closing her eyes for a brief second she pushed the idea away of talking about the marriage proposal. She's not ready to discuss the endless amount of questions. She had done what she needed to do, it's not like she won't ever marry Wade. They have plenty of time to do so further into their future. "I'm fine, really," she assured her friend. "How'd you and Lavon ended up together?" Zoe asked with a smirk, eyebrow raised, leaning back in her chair.

"Dr. Wilkes, Thomas is in the waiting room with an injured arm, they believe it's broken," Brick informed, entering her office, files of his own in hand. "I would take it so you could keep gossiping with my daughter, but I have a house visit I'm running late for," he stated, hugging his daughter before rushing out the door.

"Lucky for you that work calls," Zoe said, standing up. She grabbed the folder to take with her. "We need to have a girl's day because I want these details," she called after Lemon as she left the practice. "Alright Thomas, let me grab your folder and we can get that arm of yours checked out," Zoe informed him, switching the folders. "What happened?" She asked, opening the exam room door for him and his mom to enter.

"Goofing off at the lake, landed wrong is all," he shrugged. "Please tell me that I can get back to baseball," he pleaded with her. It's his senior year and they're making a run for the playoffs. Scouts are going to be at a few of the upcoming games. He can't afford to miss playing in any of the games.

"I don't think that's going to be possible," Zoe sighed, feeling bad about giving him the news. "You're going to be out for the next 6 to 8 weeks." Thomas fell silent with that news, letting Zoe do what needed to be done.

"Coach is going to be disappointed," Thomas sighed, walking into the waiting area with his arm in a neon yellow cast.

"Coach Graham won't be mad, he'll understand," Thomas's mom Stacey said.

"Your mom is right," a voice Zoe thought she'd never hear floated through the practice. With Bluebell being a small town, it's funny how she hasn't run into Graham until now, even with him being the baseball coach for the high school.

Ignoring her ex, she grabbed the papers giving them to Stacey, turning her attention to Thomas. "Take it easy and I will see you in a couple of weeks," Zoe told Thomas, using the reception desk to get his file in order.

Thomas nodded, talking to Graham as Stacey set up an appointment for a check-up. Zoe gave Graham a tight smile and headed to her office, he's still the boy that had left her heartbroken so many years ago. She thought she was over it, but apparently, she's not. Sighing she sat down, grabbing her phone, seeing she has a text from Wade.

"You didn't respond, so," Wade shrugged, holding up a bag of food. He had asked if she wanted to have lunch. When he didn't get any response he took it upon himself to show up. "Was that Graham I saw leaving?" He asked, having already shut the door.

"Yep," Zoe nodded, smiling at her boyfriend. "And no I don't want to talk about it," she told him.

"Fair enough," Wade commented. "I will warn you that Sofia told George that I moved in," he said, handing Zoe her food.

"It wasn't a secret," she said, flashing him a smile while she unwraps her sandwich. Wade nodded, joining her in eating his food. She's not going to mention anything to do with Lemon and that Wade didn't share that piece of information with her. She's not even mad about it, the opposite, actually.

"Other than exes and broken arms, how's your day been?" He asked, eating a fry.

"Eventful," she nodded. "You?" She asked, taking a drink of her water.

"The same," he responded. "Funny how that is, huh?" He teased. Zoe rolled her eyes tossing a fry at him, which he caught and popped into his mouth with a smirk.
