Chapter 5- Loss and New Path!

Let's get on to the chapter!

The Inside, Japan, Grassy Field at Night…
"You sure this is a good idea?" Shion spoke out to his acquaintance, a bit tipsy and little depressed…It was good question, given it not good to meet a new person when they are a bit drunk and in a negative mood.
"Yeah, I am sure. You loosen up from few drinks and now you need to meet more people. Anything to get you over…" Niko replied, but trailed off not wanting to say particular reason
They just got done from drinking from the Onna-bugeisha Bar. A few weeks ago, Kikyo died during a raid and new bartender took her place. It was a bit of blow to Shion, but he hopes that Kikyo was happy at the end. She did not die alone. Onna-bugeisha Bar gets raids by random attackers for food, resources or a group that got cocky enough to think they could take over the Onna-bugeisha. All failed. Shion knew Kikyo was passionate and protective of her group place. It was only place that in The Inside, truly gave women power and control over their territory. She died, but was not rape. She was fighter and died with smile on her face. At least, that what Kijyo sisters said about her, when they found her body around other enemy raider corpses.
Life was brief and brutal...
It was still a blow for Shion. Hanging around Onna-bugeisha Bar, meeting Niko Tokita occasionally and those intimate nights with Kikyo. Almost like his own little world. Hanging around that place made Shion feel…different. Made him remember his normal life, as close as he could get. Even though Shion and Niko did say they were friends, it was a unspoken friendship. It was rare not having to fight or kill a person in their environment. Even if they wanted to fight each other, but never felt like the mood was right. Kikyo…She made Shion dream foolish ideas…To maybe actually have a girlfriend or more and not meet up with each other to just be in the bedroom. To probably consider caller her his, if she wanted call him hers…
The what ifs with Kikyo ended with her death.
So Shion did morn properly and did drink a bit more at night. Not enough to get in the way of his training, but almost enough to start a habit with drinking. Strangely, Niko was the one trying to cheer him up and came up with that idea…
What was Niko good idea?
Meeting his student Ohma was Niko idea.
"You need to hang ground with different people and Ohma needs more friends." Niko explained.
"Is this for me or your student? Whenever you are deep in the cups, you always go on about finding the best student for the Niko Style. Ohma this, that or more sometimes. You almost sound like a proud father." Shino spoke and he could tell that Niko had ghost of smile, as he led them to his camp and training area.
"Both. Plus, I bet I know more people than you. There this guy called Kuroki Gensai that unbelievable strong-"
"Heard of him." Shion interrupted, "My master talks about him a lot, both in excitement of memory of fighting the man and that he was best fighter alive to this current day."
"See! Your master not just some battle-maniac and he socialize more than you. All you do is train and keep an eye on that Kiryu kid." Niko response.
Shion just shrugged. He did not have many friends anyway. What friends could you have on The Inside? Shion was lucky to reach the age of 22. He has lived past his life expectancy of The Inside then most the native populace. He has master teaching him Martial Arts and Shion improve by adding a new technique to that Martial Art. He had kohai that he could train with and socialize with. Kikyo help make him a man and fill a void of loneliness he ignored or forgot through his years of training. What is there more to life for Shion? The only more he could ask for in life is improving Koei Style and finding his own students…The last idea made him nervous because Shion was not sure if he would be good teacher. Maybe a few years of seasoning and training would give Shion insight on how teach and pass on the Koei Style to a student or students.
Shion shook his head getting off track.
Lincoln Loud never had problem with making friends or socialize…Then again, Lincoln never had fight and discipline himself so much as he did in Shion to become the fighter he is currently.
Maybe Shion need to see therapist because he kept think of Lincoln Loud and Shion as two different people, which is a sign of insanity.
Ganzen loved fighting that he would be consider a battle-maniac and Kiryu had some unhealthy obsession with Ohma. Shion like to think he was sanest of the trio.
Between Ganzen and Kiryu, he felt that he was sanest one of the group and he could not allow his mental health to go downhill. Perhaps Niko is correct with socializing and meeting Ohma.
"Ohma a pretty simple guy, something you to could have common ground. He loves eating meat and training. You might win him over if you fight him or if he saw you and me fight." Niko said with bit of excitement and that interest Shion. He never had audience to his fight that did not participate in the fight or ran away. Plus, he could see the Koei Style vs Niko Style...Which Martial Art Style would succeed and the other fail? Niko Tokita was fierce fighter, but Shion would surprise him and gain advantage. Both of them were a bit drunk and the fight could go from silly to serious. Shion would have to hold back...which was problem, because he never held back with anyone besides with his sensei and kohai...
He was already getting little nervous.
How far was too far in a normal spar?
What was normal friendly spar with two people with completely different fighting styles?
This would be Shion first friendly spar outside of Sensei-Ganzan and Kiryu-
"Do you hear that?" Shion heard Niko serious tone and then he started to listen.
The sound of flesh hitting flesh, then there was a scream. No. Not scream, but some yelling or better yet roaring in pain. Over the grass lands of the plain area, Shion and Niko saw three dots in the distance that were people. One dot was moving away towards the forest, while the two dots still remain where Shion could see them. What was going on? Usually around here, bodies hit the ground to never rise again and the victor would live another day. Shion saw a body hit the ground and the other person just watching and not continuing the attack... That was…odd and foreboding, giving Shion chills for some reason. Why was it bad? Why was one the people roaring like a animal death cry? Niko sprinted off after the two dots with Shion following. There was sense of urgency in Niko run and he was running so fast no normal person would be able to keep up, but Shion was not normal and kept his pace with ease. Still, witness a possible fight between two random strangers…Shion felt foreboding feeling…
A feeling he felt when he was abducted as boy.
A feeling when he killed someone for the first time.
A feeling of helplessness when he thought Ganzen would kill him, the first time they meet each other and turned Ganzan-Sensei turned him into his student and gave him the name, Shion.
This feeling…would bring a change in Shion life, for good or ill.
When they both got closer, they identified the two dots.
Kiryu and Ohma were the two dots, but something was off. Kiryu was smile could cut a knife and his eyes had insane glee. Ohma, well Shion only watch the boy for a year, but he look more wilder and more dangerous than before. Niko students skin seem to redden all over his body, all the veins visible from over flexing his muscles, eyes with hunger for violence and full of pain. Shion wonder sometimes what it would be like with Kiryu and Ohma having reunion. Kiryu mention he meant 'his' Ohma when he was rescued. Shion thought Kiryu would profess a confession of love or admiration or 'Don't you remember me? You saved me at my darkest moment, even if you did not mean to much to you…'
This was not how Shion expected, Ohma whole body bursting or vibrating with a unknown power and Kiryu just giggling as if he found the most hilarious joke in the world.

"Ohma! What is wrong-?!" Niko did not even get chance to ask his enrage and pain student, before Ohma started a barrage of punches. Niko put up his guard and tried to dip and dodge the never-ending attacks coming his way. SMACK! SMACK BAM! SMACK! BAM! SMACK! On and on the attacks rained down on Niko just as his defensive forearms and redirection of punches kept coming his way, while dodging the occasional kicks aimed at his legs to knock him off balance or guard his torso. "Snap out of it Ohma!"
Niko felt the throbbing pain in his forearms from punches or blocking kicks with knees, but whatever was happening to Ohma made him faster and stronger than what Niko was used to!
Shion had enough and approached to Kiryu for answers.
"What did you do? This is not a fight. This- I do not know what it is but this is not Fight! A possession maybe to explain this madness and where did the third person go?!" Shion looked at Kiryu and occasionally at the forest near the grassy plain. Almost feeling like eyes were watching him…like a predator stalking prey.
"Kukuku! That actually close to the name, Senpai. My god using the Possessing Spirit, whichreturn to him to who he was! Back when he first saved me! Back to his pure self and breaking from the shackles of the Fake! Kukuku!" Kiryu replied, which did not help Shion in the slightest on what was happening with Niko student.
All Shion felt was useless and frustrated in this situation, searching for answers and all Shion was getting cryptic/crazy responses from Kiryu!
"THEN THE THIRD PERSON, KIRYU! Did he do this or you?!" Shion was getting fed up with this night, turning into nothing like chaos and he was starting to sober up from the situation unfolding.
Already, Shion knew any friendship with Ohma was tainted with wrong impression because Kiryu and Shion worried how Niko would retaliate against Kiryu for, whatever the hell Kiryu did to his student.
"Again, very observant senpai…He might have had hand in this, which I am forever grateful for restoring my god! He is the true Niko Tokita! Kukukuku!" Kiryu explain with euphoria, which disgusted Shion given that Kiryu was showing his arousal s the member as the member in his jeans standing at attention!
Now, Shion was just disgusted with the situation. Kiryu was ruining Shion mood and acting more…unstable.
This had to end.
"…Okay, that is it. I am done with today and need to sleep this off this soon to be bad hangover. I am putting an end to this." Today was done and over, so Shion would do one favor for Niko before he turned in for tonight.
Ugh! Shion did not have any problem with Kiryu sexual preference, but he should get room or find someplace secluded to take care of it!
Kiryu psychosis was acting up and Shion was not in the right frame of mind to act as Kiryu counsel.
Kiryu was enjoying that his 'god' was fighting that 'devil', false Niko Tokita so much! He had so many fantasies and dreams about this. His 'god' was back on the right path, ready to destroy anyone or anything that got in his path! Ohhh! Kiryu was having a great night, but realize he should have focus on Shion-Senpai going towards that 'devil' and his 'god'.
"Where are you going Shion?" Any joy and arousal Kiryu had in this situation, died when Shion was actually going towards the fighters…

Niko was struggling and worried given that his student energy was bursting, giving him power boost that Ohma was displaying before him. He was striking and attacking with no plan, besides inflicting as much damage as he could on Niko. He was thankfully his master in Niko Style: Redirection and Adamantine to deflecting an move Ohma attack or harden all his muscle to brace his guard up against Ohma assault. This was not how Niko thought tonight would end. It was supposed to be helping Shion and Ohma make more friends with each other. Help them grow in socializing, not as Martial Artist for once!...Okay, maybe there would have been a friendly spar, but not like this. This was NOT what Niko trained Ohma in and he need to find out what happen to his student. His student was trying to defeat Niko in the sloppiest and uncontrolled manner. Not as a Martial Artist or Survivalist, but something like a mad beast!
Niko would have to wait until Ohma grew tired and Niko found opening to put his student in submission hold with Niko Style: Water Kata- Bind Pisces or Niko Style: Water Kata- Jellyfish Clutch. He just had decided which course of action in next set of moves and figure out what is going on with Ohma chi paths, because he was radiating too much energy around his heart! Niko could hear Ohma heart rate. Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! That was healthy and Ohma chi paths of his heart could be damage!
Perhaps he had to use Niko Style: Redirection Kata- Chi Blockage, without shutting off his autonomic nervous system. Whatever was happening to Ohma, it was something dangerous and Niko as Ohma Sensei had to stop it.
"Tag in!" Shion voice interrupted Niko train of thought, and before he knew what was happening, Shion got between Niko and Ohma at such speeds. As if Shion Blink into existence, which was true given that Niko just Blink for one instance and Shion went to intercept his student!
Swish! Shion dodged a left fist, as Ohma attack hit nothing but air. Smack! Blocked and redirected right fist. Swish! Ohma shot out a right kick and Blink! Shion appeared on Ohma right and returned a left kick to Ohma core! Bam! Ohma gasped briefly with spittle of spit, before regaining his stance! He returns with barrage of attacks! Smack! Ohma left punch redirected by Shion right hand! Swish! A front kick missed Shion. Slash! A cut blossomed from Shion right cheek by barely missing Ohma potential knock-out left, high kick! Bam! A left-hand palm strike hit Ohma chin with power of fist, and Shion remaining in control of the situation and having a slight smile. Blink! Ohma lost track of his opponent only to be- Crack! A devastating right-hook landed on his cheek and Ohma tasted copper in his mouth, as Ohm put off some distance between himself and Shion.
Ohma had no strategy, as Shion found the rhyme and a slight pattern to Ohma fighting style. Each fighter missing or landing blows on each other, with Ohma taking more damage than Shion was receiving.
Now, Niko knew that Shion was a fighter that stood above the average fighters. The way he carried himself and observe Niko of any weakness and openings. It just that Niko never knew what his fighting style was. Niko saw Shion beginner Boxing stance, but…the footwork that Shion was using was not that of Boxer. His own master Goah Mukaku travels around the world to test his Goah Style, before he adopted all the Niko's Tokita to develop Niko Style using the Goah Style as base to start from scratch…His master mention Baguazhang- the practice of circle walking, or "turning the circle" in stances and movement training. Practitioners walk around the edge of the circle in various low stances, facing the center, and periodically change direction as they execute forms of their techniques from countering and striking their opponents.
Still…that was not right style. Baguazhang Style was not something that Shion was exhibiting. Niko fought many fighters inspired by Chinese Kempo, some came from mainland of China and others who research/practice the Martial Art as best they could. None of those past fighters were as fast as Shion.
Whatever this hybrid style was, Shion was exhibiting a strong defense, fast strikes and incredible speeds to evade Ohma strike.
His foot work…was not a circle, but something else…
He shook his head. Niko did not have time to focus on Shion fighting style, he needs to help Ohma and right now he was not in control of the fight.
No. It was Shion taking control of the fight.
Niko did not know if Shion would go all out, but he needed to speak up for his student sake!
"Do not kill him! Ohma not normally like this!" l Niko yelled out in worry and frustration, but mostly miffed that Shion interrupted his plans to restrain his student.
"Got it!" Shion spoke and all of Ohma attention was on him, who continued his attacks with reckless abandon and what seem like unpredictable patter of attack.
XXX
Ohma was gladly ready to hurt anything and anyone that got in his way, with his state of mind. He felt more annoyance that his fight was interrupted with this new comer, but more the merrier! Ohma would crush anyone!
With this power and pain, Ohma could win!
As for as Ohma Tokita could see, nobody he was fighting had familiarity to him.
The Possessing Spirit, had a downside to the power boosting technique. The user's heart's cardiovascular output to rapidly boost their metabolic rate. The result increases their velocity, acceleration, torque and, consequently, their damage output. It is usually a trump card technique. The user body becomes extremely vascular, with their blood vessels becoming noticeably visible on the surface of their skin and also causing the user's skin to become red, and the user's hair begins to float and flare in the air (similar to static hair).
The downside to this technique was in spite of its power, Possessing Spirit has serious drawbacks that become more prominent with overuse. Tts side effects include: blood vessel damage, cerebral hemorrhaging, acute memory loss and confusion, visual and auditory hallucinations, and eventually heart failure and death.
Right now, Ohma Tokita was suffering from most these side effects, except heart failure and death.
Only continue use of the Possessing Spirit technique would cause the user for heart failure and death, over period of time.
Given Ohma was unfamiliar and given to an unknown benefactor that even though Ohma meant moments ago, could not remember anyone who he has know for decades to person he just happen to meet.
Everything in this young warrior mind was fuzzy outlines that he could not identify anyone from around him and he heard his rapid Heart Beats pumping/beating like his chest was engine to a vehicle of car.
Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump!
All Ohma could hear was the drumming of his own fast heart!
All beginning users could not recognize or understand what is happening around them, besides the pain and high from the overwhelming power he was gifted with or…cursed with such a dangerous technique.
Ohma race towards his opponent taking a mighty swing with his right fist ready to cave his opponent face-in…But all Ohma got was Swish! Air was all Ohma hit and was surprise that his opponent had the reaction time to dodge and then Shion seem to go into a Tackle Ohma torso! But Shion went lower than Ohma thought and was to slow to react to Shion grabbing/lifting both of Ohma legs briefly off the grounds to-
SMASH! Into a Takedown, with Ohma back greeting the ground with an impact!
The dirt and grass cracked underneath both fighters, while Ohma was ready to knee, kick or punch his opponent; Ohma was not fast enough for Shion to mount on top of himself to unleash his attacks! Bam! Smash! Bam! Smash! Bam! Smash! Shion was punching Ohma head and torso; while Ohma could only bring his forearms up to guard from his opponent attacks! Bruises blossomed and injuries were receive by Shion fists!
The tackle was truly a Takedown, a Grappler technique! Shion feint a Tackle, but it was Takedown-Shion use both arms to grab around the Ohma legs while keeping the chest close to the opponent, and using this position to force the opponent to the ground!
As for Ohma, he was worried and frustrated with his opponent! Just the slightest blink or momentary loss of view of his opponent, his opponent was gone and attack from different vulnerable angle or resorted to unexpected in-fighting!
It was amateur mistake for Ohma to think that his opponent would not change tactics from attack around him to attacking him directly!
Ohma was trained to keep focus on his opponent and watch his enemies, but he could not stop his natural body reaction to blink mid-fighting nor stop his opponent from capitalize on minimal moment took his eyes off his opponent!
His opponent was a different story.
Ohma strikes were dangerous and Shion was not going to test his durability against this opponent fists and kicks. His forearms had burning sensation from the series of block and re-directions of Ohma punches. His legs felt warm, but would not show much bruising in comparison to his forearms, given his quick foot work help avoid attacks to his legs. That not saying Ohma kicks did not land any hits, but no critical damage landed on Shion body. He blocked and moved out the way as fast he could, but Shion could tell that Ohma trained his punches and kicks for powerful Strikes to KO or suffering blows in the duration of the fight! If he was normal individual…Ohma would have killed him long ago.
Whatever was going on with Niko student, it was visibly showing. There's a noticeable shift in the Ohma personality, with them wearing a terrifying grin on their face when fighting. From past observation, Shion could tell that Ohma had lust for battling. It reminded him of Sensei-Ganzan…Still, this current fight displayed a battle lust that borderline on being sadistic and trying to damage his opponents with overwhelming barrage of strikes. The boy was short tempered and can be quick to violence.
But his eyes showed no recognition to his Master Niko Tokito or Shion. It was like he was in his own world and that world demanded Ohma to fight like a wild animal!
Niko student body seem to be vibrating with power and developing a reddish skin tone, from over exertion or increase body temperature. Shion did not know. But what Shion did know that Niko student heart rate was beating so loudly that even Shion could hear.
Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump!
Out of kindness to Niko and preserve this strong fighter, Shion would end this fight!
Shion was a little familiar with Niko Style, but did not take anything to chance. He used the element of surprise by interrupting the fight and then takedown Ohma to the ground in order to perform his Submission Grapple as quickly and swiftly as possible! Shion mounted Ohma quickly before he could react, using his upper body to press against the Ohma right torso and his left arm focus on wrapping around the back of his opponent neck! He had to stop his barrage of punches on Ohma in order to complete this technique! Ohma, knowing the dangers of this vulnerable position went to strike with punch- Swish! To only miss Shion head and capitalize what Shion wanted Ohma to do! Shion put pressure on Ohma right arm triceps and use Ohma right bicep muscle to put on his throat, then Shion right hand clasped with his left hand and began to move his lower body off. Shion then proceed to squeeze and hold Ohma in place, as uncontrollable and violent Ohma realized the danger he was in! Shion quickly got off most Ohma body, except his right side and maintained the choke he placed. His legs were mostly safe!
Shion place Ohma into Arm Triangle Choke!
"AGGGH!" Ohma roar was stifled and he gasped for more air. His legs and armed squirmed trying to be released from his restraint! Try that he might, his left arm could not reach to punch at his opponent ribs, with most of Shion body on Ohma left side! CRACK! His right fist hit the ground broke the earth into fissures! Crack! Crack! CRACK! CRACK! Ohm heels of his legs kicking the ground and creating fissures from earth was struggling! He could not find leverage.
Ohma was getting desperate from this hold and-CRUNCH!- bite hard on Shion right pectoral muscles, tasting cooper and breaking the skin!
Thankfully, it was not artery, but Ohma clearly torn into his flesh releasing or accidently tasting Shion blood.
"Grrr!...Of course you would do that. Not that I blame you if I was in your position…" Shion grunted and kept control of Arm Triangle Choke, as Ohma was losing air and struggling grew less desperate in Shion hold. Shion knew that Ohma was not giving up and looking for weakness.
It was never a good feeling being out of control in situation, while your opponent had complete control over the next steps of next set of actions.
Shion was not going to give any openings for Ohma.
The Arm Triangle Choke are generic terms describing blood chokeholds in which the opponent is strangled in between their own shoulder and the practitioner's arm. This is as opposed to the regular triangle choke, which denotes a chokehold using the legs, albeit with a similar mechanism of strangulation against the opponent's own shoulder. An arm triangle choke where the practitioner is on the side of the opponent and presses a forearm into the opposite side of the neck of the opponent is known as a side choke, such as from the Kata-Gatame hold.
Shion remember his master putting into the Kata-Gatame hold, for it was within his realm as a Jui-Jitsu Master. This technique is also use in Grappling, Judo, and Mixed Martial Arts.
The Kata-Gatame, is a pinning hold where the opponent is hugged around the head, with one of the opponent's arms pinned against his or her neck. It can be done from Kesa-Gatame in response to an opponent's escape attempt, during which the arm is pinned against his or her neck, and the hold around the neck is put in place. The Kata-Gatame is often seen as a chokehold, since it is easy to compress the opponent's neck from the hold by squeezing, in which case it is known as an Arm Triangle Choke or side choke.
Shion research Sensei-Ganzan technique and found Arm Triangle Choke of Brazilian Jui-Jitsu Style technique as his similar substitute.
"GRRR!" Ohma roaring into the wound in his pectoral chest, then Shion decide to finish it.
Breathing in and out, Shion began to flex and squeeze!
"GGRRRRrrrrr!" It was harder to breath and Ohma felt his jaws being pushed back from Shion muscle flexing and squeeze. Strangulation was taking place and the air circulation within Ohma body was getting worst. He tried to breath through his nose, but whoever Ohma opponent was squeezing and cutting off all circulation of air by making sure Ohma face was directed towards his chest and not out of his grip! Breaths began to shorten, blood in Ohma mouth that was not his own blood, was choking off more air flow. The taste of copper filled his nasal passages, cutting off any limited and closing air flow from there.
The Possessing Spirit, required controlled breathing and oxygen, but that was burning low on fuel and Ohma heart was calming down from the increased blood flow…
Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump. Bump. Bump. bump. bump. bump…
Ohma heart rate was slowing down and he was slowly get dizzy light head feeling, while his vision was tilting off out of focus.
His vision was growing dim and he started to see the world as it was normally…then Ohma lost consciousness and felt the pressure over his head slowly fade…
Restraining Ohma was over, but Shion body felt sore from exerting so much energy.
Why did Shion not use Rakshasa's Palm? Because the technique was too dangerous in that Shion had hard time controlling such technique and hold back the attempt to kill…or cripple his opponents. It was out of respect for Niko Tokita, for using such technique dangerous and this left Shion to use Blink to evade and confuse Ohma.
XXX
"No! You dare-!"
So much anger and fury was in this young man, that he could barely process and withhold his rage! He could not even finish his sentence!
Kiryu was frothing from the mouth, feeling betrayed by Shion for stopping his 'god' rampage and judgement! What hurt the most was the idea of…Ohma being defeated by such a common technique! No, no, no, no! God does not get chocked out! God strikes down his enemies and leaves their broken or torn bodies on the Earth!
How could Shion do this to him?!
This was Kiryu Setsuna thoughts and emotions.
Kiryu, before this point, had gain a slight empathy of love and respect to Shion. All the years they known each other, training in the Koei Style, reading Mangaka's, talks with each other, spar's and occasional hunts/scavenge of foods from Animals to lose group of thugs control the resources in parts of The Inside territories. It was those moments training with Sensei Taira Ganzan and Shion that Kiryu wonder if this was what it felt like to have a…family that care and wanted nothing but to revive a unique/powerful Martial Art. The bond that formed this group was something that Kiry truly treasure, almost making Kiryu forget his true goals in learning the Koei Style…
To be close to Ohma Tokita.
His god.
His reason for being alive and surviving The Inside.
His ultimately sacrificing himself in a battle of Martial Arts against his god, to save and treasure that moment as what Kiryu mind- as his Heaven!
To die by his god hands…that was when Kiryu Setsuna would feel a sense of TRUE purpose in his life.
That image, was shattered!
Over and over in his mind, he saw Shion choke out his 'god' and slowly rise as the victor of that fight. It was sacrilege to see Shion block, survive, damage and win against Kiryu 'god', Ohma Tokita!
Ohma Tokita was perfect in Kiryu mind, who was misled by the false Niko Tokita and made target to the true beast that owned that name…
The core of Kiryu Setsuna mind and goal was revived!
Kiryu 'god' was all that he needs, and Shion TAINTED Kiryu view of his invincible and wrathful god!
Unconsciously, Kiryu out of impulse and disgust for the situation, he used the secret Martial Art he kept hidden from his Master and senior discipline…
The Niko Style!
"SHION!" Kiryu battle cry was heard throughout the area and used the Niko Style-Flame Kata: Flash Fire technique! While not nearly as skilled in the style as Ohma or Niko Tokita, Kiryu use the Koei Style- Blink he can combine its techniques with the Niko Style to compensate for his shortcomings. The Flame Kata of the Niko Style, is largely centered on methods of movement, giving the user incredible speed and agility. The Flash Fire technique was part of the Niko Style, a confounding form of movement that allows for the user to flicker like a flame. This technique is able to confuse the enemy by making them see multiple copies of themselves.
Shion barely standing from releasing his hold on Ohma before Kiryu came at him with this new foot work technique that Shion has never seen!
Kiryu rush knocked Shion to ground!
Smash!
Now Shion was the one in trouble, dealing with one opponent and not expected another so soon, which Shion was not fully prepared for the attack!
Kiryu rage was unleashed and twisted into frothing vengeful beast!
Crack! A left fist from Kiryu was guarded by Shion right forearm, unsuccessfully! Kiryu manage to hit part of Shion right temple.
The world was slowly tilting and Shion felt vertigo change, but maintained his guard as Kiryu mounted to unleash his wrathful blows on Shion!
Smack! Bam! BAM! Crash! Crack! SMACK! Kiryu kept raining down blow after blow. Shion forearms were becoming transforming from red to small and medium ugly dark purple bruise's from the wrests to the elbows, as his bones shook under Kiryu devastating blows. Blood leaked from Shion right temple, with parts of his face being damage by seemingly random blows to his jaw, nose and eyes. Shion face was guarded, but swelled up from the damage he was receiving and his eyes had problem focusing.
Kiryu was unconsciously using more of the Niko Style techniques, by combining Redirection and Water Kata's into a Other Technique of the Niko Style! This technique was called Swimming Swallow, which allows the user can deliver a rush of blows with unpredictable and quickly-altering trajectories, making them incredibly difficult to guard against.
This what Shion was suffering from these attacks, but his guard remain up and his body was keeping his guard up.
That was all Shion could remember at that moment, when his vision and mind fell into darkness...
XXX
…for Shion lost conscious after being hit for several attacks at that moment! The discipline he put his body kept his guard up, as protection of the assault that Kiryu was damaging him with!
"Enough!" A voice called out and Kiryu felt someone grab his shoulders with tremendous strength and technique; to pull him off Shion body and stopping his attacks!
Kiryu sprawled to the ground and quickly got back up, ready to attack Shion and to kill the man he loathed in all of his very being…
…the false Niko Tokita!
Niko checked Shion body, his breathing and pulse with his hands, never taking his eyes off of Kiryu. Kiryu was looking for a opening and guard to break through, but even he knew he was not ready to take on Niko Tokita. As much as Kiryu hated that fact…he was still inexperience to take down a Master of Niko Style.
"Who taught you those techniques? Why go after Shion with such hatred?" Niko ask two questions, with a grave look that promise pain and demanded answers.
Kiryu just smiled a mad-man smile, with hope of causing discomfort and to shift the fight in his favor.
"…From the true Tokita Niko disciplines, of course! As for Shion…" Kiryu deranged smile turned into a snarling frown when the false Tokita Niko express did not change. "He defied God!" At Kiryu declaration, Niko express slightly shifted being stun and bafflement.
"God, huh? I do not think Ohma signed up for that idea. Get real, kid. He is my student and not your god. Just as Shion is your senpai and has not harmed you, unlike what you just did." The way Niko spoke those words of superiority and as adult chiding a child who caused a trouble, anger began to rise within Kiryu to attack. Any impression Kiryu made on Niko, was that of a selfish and dangerous individual.
"We shall see!" a challenge was declared, with Kiryu using Flash Fire, to charge and confuse the false Niko Tokita, who shook his head at Kiryu move as his opponent closed the distance.
"Using the Niko Style against a Master, when your a novice? You are not thinking with your head at all." Niko replied, then charged at Kiryu with Flash Fire.
A battle of conviction vs protection.
Of belief vs experience!
All this happen, as Shion was unconscious in his mind, while Niko was slowly regaining consciousness.
XXX
He was floating, in a black void. It was almost like he was under water. It almost seems like light was around him, like a spotlight from unknown light source.
Shion felt pain and relief, but at the moment he felt other emotions…
"This is the world you stuck yourself into and it's not pretty."
A voice called out in the white void of Shion unconscious mind. A voice sounding stern, beautiful and familiar.
"When your not strong enough to lead, you lose the privilege of getting what you want."
Kikyo?
"You let your guard down. I am disappointed, Shion. You should have known this would happen with Kiryu so obsessed with Ohma and you restrain yourself to much with him. Kiryu would attacked anyone who broke the image of his…God." Shion heard a voice and above him was Kikyo, no clothing. Just her naked being that reminded Shion what he missed and also reflected how helpless he was. Her body was decorated with scars from various cuts of blades, arrow wounds and even gunshot wound; but she still looked like beautiful warrior woman that help comfort him and lose his virginity too. Kikyo dark brown hair and pale skin with her almond shape eyes with cold brown eyes showed…disappointment. Why?
"On some level, you knew Kiryu was going to attack you. What do you do? You took a beat down and got knocked out because of it. Ohma is tough fighter, but he was not at hundred percent and relying on instinct and some odd power. You had energy to take on Kiryu, but you were negligent to stop Kiryu. What type of fighter is not already ready for the next attack or fight? No...Maybe your not a fighter and your were playing a childish game." Kikyo finished her lecturing.
Well, now he felt bad. Did Shion disappoint Kikyo or himself? How do you apologize to ghost?
No. No! Focus. This is all in his head. It not real...
"What type of fighter stops fighting, even if he or she has some emotional connection to individual. You're still a boy in man's body. Kill the boy so the man could live, Shion. A defeat in a fight, means you lose your right to live and now your opponent gets to make the choice if you live or…you die."
Kikyo just shook her head of beautiful hair and fazed out of existence. If this was any other time, Shion wish he could have memorized Kikyo body, voice and mind more; but it felt hazy remnants of Kikyo memories fading.
Shion probably did not have concussion…maybe. Kiryu was berserker with his fist raining down on Shion body. Some most likely gave him a bit of head trauma.
"Is this the extent of your ability, bro?" Lynn voice popped in and he saw his older sister, who still was wearing the number one jersey and brown ponytail. She had cocky tone and ready for a challenge. She still looked like her pre-teen self in his mind.
"After all you experience and observation, I find your lack of skill, readiness and technique to defend against this Kiryu troubling." Lisa popped in, in her green sweater and glasses pocking out of existence with her brown hair in a mess.
"Maybe it is too tough for Linky?" Leni, sweet and innocent voice, strangely that comment hurt the most. Leni was as fashionable as he remembers and nice, with her blond hair and sunglasses on her head. It just how she phrased that question that seem to hurt Shion.
He was not Lincoln!
He was tough enough and he could get stronger!
Shion was strong and he did not want to hurt Kiryu-
"Then why don't you Lincoln? Do you have another excuse or something?" Lori voice chimed on in. A voice of his eldest sibling, daring Lin-Shion! She was daring Shion to question her eldest Sister statement. He could imagine her with her cell phone in hand and arms crossed, talking down to him like a child.
He would get stronger!
"By staying around that old man and this psycho-genius student using your master and you as stepping stones to power? Probably a little, but you have not experience the world outside The Inside, Lincoln!" Lola voice came next, point out an uncomfortable issue to Shion. Still acting like royalty, wearig her pink dress and tiara came in Shion vision of Lola...and her missing front tooth.
Lincoln. He was not Lincoln, but Lola was right. He was not growing stronger with Sensei Taira Ganzan and Kiryu was dangerous to point that he would harm anyone who get in his way or…tarnish his 'god' image. He was fool to think otherwise.
"Don't you want to be best you can be with Koei Style? Then go explore the world outside of The Inside, get dirty and learn from your new experiences in life!" Lana voice came next. Always the tomboy and being blunt, but she was correct. A red cap and overalls was all she was wearing, and Shion could see some dirt on Lana face. Like her twin, she was missing her front tooth.
He wanted to be the best in using the Koei Style and he was getting too comfortable with living in The Inside. It was time for change.
"There always other teachers that can help point you in the right direction to become stronger, Lincoln." Lucy voice came in, as comfort and also unsettling idea. Her haunting pale face and mouth showed in the dark abyss, but he could imagine Lucy wearing all black dress.
Maybe he needs a new teacher, but he would keep to the Koei Style…Perhaps he should look towards finding his Master friend, Kuroki Gensai. Pick his brain and if he were to allow it, study his fighting style and see if he can improve his own capabilities. After that…
Shion would learn from other Martial Art Techniques, from their Masters, fight them, and learn their philosophy; to make himself a stronger fighter!
He would further improve the Koei Style in any way he could as long as he lived!
"You're not going be the best at everything, dude. You're going to get knocked down so many times and taste bitter defeat again and again, but you got keep trying and fighting your way to be the best, bro. To be the best fighter you can be…" Luna voice gave him hope, within his mind. Luna was in her all purple outfit and with purple guitar strapped next to her amp...All that was missing was music and sound. Had it been so long that he forgot Luna music? That made him feel sad...
This was all in Shion mind, but perhaps this was his wake-up call.
"Go out their and break a leg or twist your opponent legs! Get it! Because the Rakshasa's Palm, is so devastating…Nah, that one too specific and nobody would get the idea, besides you, Link." Luan came in with more encouragement, with darkness getting a bit brighter and lighter. A white t-shirt and yellow skirt is what he could remember of Luan, along with her braces on her teeth.
It was bad joke, but it was something that Shion need to remind himself. Nobody but two other people could do that. He can get stronger and would get stronger.
The only path he had was to Fight.
He had no other opinions in life anymore, but to Fight until he is killed and eve then…
...Shion would keep fighting with his spirit!
"Just remember, Winclon. This is your path you are following and it is not wasy. Just come out stronger and…see us when your weady." That last voice surprised Shion the most…It was not voice he was familiar with, but someone he could guess was talking to him. Lily...she was just baby, but Shion could not imagine her as baby no more and see her growing up...without him around.
Lily…He did want to see his youngest sister again. But he also knew he was not ready…
Not until he satisfied with his own strength or something unexpected happens that causes him to see his family again.
Then everything brightens in white light and Shion felt something invading his nose…which was a awful smell!
XXX
What Shion woke up to was a bad smell invading his nose and someone slapping his face. It was unpleasant, but necessary wake up call.
Smelling-Salt and calluosed hands lightly slapping across his face to wake up.
The hands that slapped him awake gently were hands he was familiar with. His master rough and well-trained hands, from various spars of pain and training they inflicted on each other.
"Wake up, Shion. We are leaving…" His voice, Sensei-Genzan sounded both tired and upset at situation. The world blurred a bit for Shion as he opens his eye. His right eye was swollen-shut and his left eye was finding focus around his surroundings. It was still night and his Sensei look well enough. Kiryu was here, and that brought a mixed feeling for Shion…The strange thing was, Kiryu looked like was in fight as well and gain some minor injuries from someone. It was not with Shion, so who-?
Shion left eye saw a body lying on the ground. A familiar body, with his back having spiral twist where the heart was located. Long hair no longer in pony tail and his body slack and unmoving…With slight smell of death that invaded Shion bloody nostrils.
Niko…How? When?
Then a scenario took place with what happen with Shion mind, when he was unconscious.
Kiryu Setsuna must of attack Niko, when Niko intervened with Kiryu continued beating on Shion. He would not be surprised if Kiryu would have kept up beating his fists into his body, until his arms were broken and skull crushed. His battered and bruise forearms would attest to that…
Kiryu and Niko fought for a while until…
Niko was confronted with Taira Genzan, his master.
For Taira Genzan, one student was unconscious and another being beaten by another unknown opponent. Either for protectiveness for his students or preserving Koei Style, Taira Genzan fought Niko Tokita. Given Niko unfamiliarity with Koei Style and Sensei-Genzan not taking any chance with Niko for 'defeating' Shion and was about to defeat Kiryu…
Sensei-Genzan killed Niko Tokita, with Niko student being a witness.
Kiryu must have hated Niko Tokita, because he did not stop their master from killing Niko given Kiryu inability to do so.
Seeing Kiryu satisfied smile with the situation made Shion skin crawl and a burning anger
Ohma Tokita was in a state of shock, looking at his defeated and death of his master on his knees…Eyes dilating and trying to process the events that took place. To see that his master was defeated and killed, must have been heavy blow to Ohma…
"Shion, we are leaving. Focus and come along." Sense-Genzan voice broke Shion out his own trance, which Shion realize that he was stun with the whole situation.
How could this night have gone so horrible wrong or end so horribly?
Niko Tokita…Shion, on some level that was still Lincoln Loud. He realized that and Lincoln wanted to have as friend around to be alive and well. Shion wanted a to have friends. To help Shion feel like Lincoln again, but now Niko was dead. Shion should have fought Niko, because then…Niko would have been familiar with Koei Style just as Shion could have been familiar with Niko Style. The tension was there and both Niko and Shion wanted to challenge each other, but they decide to be drinking buddies and just hang around each other.
Now…There was just bitter regret in never fighting each other that echoed in Shion mind.
Who knew how they're fight would have went? Would Shion have won? Would Niko have won? Who was strongest and discipline fighter, between Shion and Niko?
Mostly though...Niko could have lived longer if he knew how to fight someone who used the Koei Style.
The thought process was traitorous, because Shion realize that...he wanted Niko to defeat his Sensei-Genzan.
...Did Shion want his master to lose and die? What type of student would consider that? That was betrayal to Sensei-Genzan and helping him survivor for so long...
What if Niko killed Sensei-Genzan? Shion would be similar state as Ohma, loss and full of...rage.
So many thoughts and possibilities went in Shion mind.
He just had to accept the facts.
That whatever other possibilities would be loss forever and always be Shion greatest regret for not fighting Niko or even thinking he wanted Sensei-Genzan to be defeated.
The fight he never had with Niko, would haunt Shion in the back of his mind.
Genzan-Sensei turn to address Ohma, "Whenever your ready to challenge. I will be waiting. If I am dead, then my students will take my place as your opponent." Then Genzan turned around and left, Kiryu looking at Ohma with a smile before following Genzan-Sensei. Shion looked towards his master and Kiryu, then at Niko dead body and Ohma Tokita. Processing these events and thinking on that moment on decision that would set his path.
Shion followed Genzan-Sensei and Kiryu, with his mind made up.
It was time to leave and grow stronger or grow stagnant and die.
Out respect for the Koei Style, himself, Ohma Tokita, Sensei Taia Genzan and mostly…in keeping Niko Tokita memories alive with him.
He would grow stronger after this…that he promised to himself on that day of change!

Author Notes: So, this might be the last chapter with BOLD and Italics. I am going to be focusing on fights and I will probably have paragraphs with mentions of certain Martial Art and their Techniques mention per chapter. Let's see how this work. Sorry if that becomes more jarring, but I am moving away from BOLD and Italics for future chapters…Hopefully to update my stories faster or write more chapters.
It was brief having Niko Tokita in the story and his short friendship with Shion(Lincoln), but his death is catalyst for Ohma Tokita to become fighter he is in "Kengan Ashura/Omeg".
Shion(Lincoln) needed a reminder that...life is brutal and moments are short. Either get stronger or prepare to die one day. I hope that I gave Shion a reason to grow stronger, because he was letting his guard down more and Kiryu Setsuna took that advantage when Shion put a end to one fight. Also, Shion feeling some guilt with Niko Tokita death for not fighting him.
No. The fighting never over in "Kengan Ashura/Omeg". Fighting is apart of Shion(Lincoln) life now and nothing can change that.
