Hey all! I'm sorry for the huge delay in getting this chapter out. My plan had been to get this posted two weeks ago, but so much stuff happened that it wasn't possible. I have pushed through my cold these last few days to get this finished.

Enjoy!

"Everything okay?" Wade asked, taking a seat on the stairs next to Sofia. He has the day off of work and decided that while Zoe took a nap as their baby boy slept, he'd do some yard work. Sofia colored on the sidewalk with her chalk in his view at all times.

"All my brother does is cry or sleep," she told Wade. "My dad is too busy," she sighed, referring to the last few weeks of George only being able to spend a day or two with Sofia. "Mom's busy with the baby," she scoffed. "And you're working or holding my brother," she confessed, with a shrug.

"And you're feeling left out," Wade guessed, running a hand through his hair. He caught the small subtle nod she gave.

Wade sighed, in all the joy and sleepless nights of having a newborn son, they had let Sofia fall through the cracks. He should have seen it sooner. There's no excuse as to why he hadn't seen it. Sofia had been a good sport, helped with everything she could, and there they were pushing her to the side. Knowing that Sofia felt so left out, made him angry with himself. He had told her that nothing was going to change because she now has a baby brother.

"I'm sorry, Sofia," he told her, pulling her in for a hug. "I'm sorry for making you feel like you're not important or that you don't matter, because you are important, you matter and we love you," he told her, hugging her in a tight loving embrace.

"It's okay," she retorted, her voice muffled by Wade's shirt.

"Sweetie, it's never going to be okay," he responded, getting up. He picked Sofia up, the young child getting to be too big to be carried, but he'd manage this time. There's going to be a time, sooner than he'd like to admit that she's not going to want hugs or want to be held, so well she still wants those things he's going to do it as much as he can.

"What's going on?" Zoe asked, watching her husband walk into the room carrying Sofia. Jack sleeping in his bassinet next to the bed on Zoe's side.

"A certain someone misses her mom," Wade said, gently dropping Sofia on the bed.

Zoe nodded, pulling her daughter into a tight and loving embrace. She'd been so focused on Jack, making sure that he was eating enough, making sure that he was okay, that she did the one thing she promised wouldn't happen by letting her daughter fall to the wayside. Sofia was well taken care of, it's more that she pushed back all their little bonding moments, without finding the time to make them up to her.

"Oh sweetie," sighed Zoe, kissing the top of Sofia's head. "What is it you would like to do?" She asked softly. Sofia shrugged. She didn't know what it is she wanted to do. She can hear her brother crying in the night and she didn't want to add more problems to what her mom was going through.

"I've got Jack, why don't you girls go have a day," Wade suggested. He hadn't meant to overhear what mother and daughter were saying, he had reentered the room from the bathroom, meaning to make a quick escape.

"Are you sure?" Zoe asked, looking from her husband to her son and to the daughter in her arms. She'd love to have a full day with Sofia, to show her that she is loved and cared for and that they hadn't forgotten about her since her baby brother has been born.

"Positive," Wade nodded. He's not going to pass up on having a day with his son, even if all his son is going to do is sleep for the majority of the time. He wants to start building a relationship with Jack, to be there for him even if doesn't know it yet.

"What do you say, sweetie? Want to go have a girl's day?" Zoe asked with a bright smile.

"Yes," Sofia nodded, wiggling free from her mom's embrace. "Can we do our nails?" She asked, stopping by the bedroom door.

"Toes and fingers," Zoe told her daughter. "You didn't have to do that," Zoe told Wade, once Sofia headed off down the hall.

"No, I suppose not," Wade nodded, placing a hand on Zoe's waist, gently kissing her neck, as Zoe looked through the closet for an outfit to wear out on her mommy/daughter date. "I wanted to do it. I've done as you and let Sofia's feelings fester while we welcomed our son home and it wasn't fair to her. She needs to have some time with her mother," Wade commented, as Zoe picked out what she is going to wear, turning to face her husband.

"Okay, there's…" Wade cut her off with a kiss.

"I know where everything is, I've taken care of him before, Zo," he told her.

Nodding, Zoe headed to the bathroom to get ready to have a day out with her daughter.

The first thing on their agenda is to grab lunch when they get to Fairhope. Then they would hit the spa and get their nails done. From there they were going to do a bit of shopping, Sofia needing some new clothes as she's growing out of hers. All while keeping her mind and focus on her daughter and not on her son and husband.

Jack is in very good hands with his father. That's not anything she will ever doubt. She didn't like being away from Sofia either, still doesn't.

With the house to himself and his son, Wade figured on getting a few things done around the house without the worry of interrupting his wife. There's been a few things that have fallen to the side as they got settled into having a newborn home. And with his free time, he was going to get it done.

Or so he thought.

While he worked on putting the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, he kept the baby monitor close by. Having not heard his son making a noise when he made a big bang with a few pots and pans, he rushed upstairs, in case the monitor wasn't working. Changing the laundry out, he shut the dryer door a bit too hard, and again found himself rushing to his son's bedside to check that he hadn't woken up at the loud noise, the baby monitor in hand as he went.

After the fifth time of rushing to check on his son, Wade collapsed on the bed, the baby monitor lay forgotten on the living room coffee table. There had been a few times that his son's soft cries seeped out of the baby monitor, needing changed or needing to be fed a bottle.

Zoe smiled entering the house behind Sofia, as they carried their bags into the house, hearing her husband's soft voice coming from the baby monitor in the living room. Zoe had a fun day with her daughter and it's something she's going to have to add into her week, a day or a few hours with Sofia. Not only is it something that Zoe needs, but it's what Sofia needs as well.

"You've made your dad rather mad today, my boy," Wade said, picking his son up at his fussy little cries. "First of many, if you're anything like me," he chuckled, getting a diaper and wipes out to change his son's dirty diaper.

"Why's he mad?" Sofia asked, looking at her mom with a confused look on her face. As far as Sofia knows all her baby brother does is sleep, and cry when he needs to be fed or changed.

"Oh sweetie not like that," Zoe smiled, urging Sofia to bring her things to her room, to get everything put away. "Wade's just being silly is all," Zoe told her, placing the bags she carried on her daughter's bed. Digging through the bags to help her daughter put her things away, before going to see her husband and her son.
