Standing at full attention with his arms leisurely hanging at his side. A pair of onyx eyes, belonging to none other than Uchiha Itachi, stayed locked on Kakashi Hatake's form as he watched on in silence as he sat on the other side of his desk, silently reading over the mission report. A report that Itachi had turned in two weeks ago prior to their arrival back into the village. Even with that mask of his covering the lower half of his face, Itachi could tell something was off.
Itachi finally spoke up, growing tired of the silence in the room "Is there a problem sir?"
Kakashi peered upwards from the paper and then back down at the paper again before he spoke "A couple of things actually, I've looked over your report a few times and I still can't seem to understand completely what happened Itachi. Please tell me how you ended up with a teammate getting severely injured and another one killed?"
"I explained it in detail in my report."
Placing the paper down, Kakashi leaned forward, perching his elbows on top of the desk "I can see that but sometimes it's better to hear it come directly from a person's mouth than reading a piece of paper" Kakashi spoke
"Do you believe I left something out?" Itachi asked
"I don't believe you did and just to clear up any confusion,I trust your judgment completely Itachi, but I need to know everything so that I can go to bat for you when I have to inform the elders about this."
Internally sighing, He began "We were moving in a modified version of Formation D-
"Which means?" Kakashi interjected
"In this modified version, Raido was running point."
"Why was he running point when you're the captain?"
"I know-He quickly corrected himself-knew that Raido was training to become a captain of the newly formed special tactics squad and I wanted to offer him another chance to hone his skills."
"So, he has run point on other missions correct?"
Itachi nodded "Yes."
Kakashi picked up a pen "Which ones?"
"The C-ranked mission last month when we traveled to Sunagakure and the B-ranked mission to Kirigakure which was done, the month before last."
"So, what made you think he was capable of taking point on this mission?"
"I knew that he did well those last two times and like it's stated in my report, I believed that it was a good and simple C-ranked mission. I knew that the mission could be dangerous, but I didn't believe it wouldn't have turned out the way it did."
"As a captain, you must know that things can change at a drop of a hat."
Itachi nodded "I'm aware and I specifically informed Raido, that if something arose that would jeopardize either the mission, village or the team, I would take back over again."
Kakashi looked down at the paper "But according to your report, even when a problem arose up, you still continued to let Raido run point."
"I did." Itachi spoke "I assessed the situation and believed that Raido could handle it but the intel that was gathered couldn't accurately help us predict the amount of damaged that he could inflict."
"Hm." Kakashi huffed just as he opened his mouth to speak when someone interrupted him.
"If I may speak Hokage-sama."
Itachi's line of sight, suddenly shifted from Kakashi to his right where he found Danzou, leaning up against the wall, a deep frown on his face.
Kakashi looked over to Danzou and nodded.
"As one of the elders of this village, I believe that we should look into the matter even more to ensure that this doesn't send us into a unnecessary war, I suggest that Uchiha Itachi be taken off of the active roster."
Itachi's eyes narrowed just as Kakashi spoke up "For what reason?"
"With Itachi making that call to have Raido run point, we have not only lost one of our own but due to his recklessness, he has sidelined of our most valuable shinobi who is in critical condition none the less, We have to show everyone in this village, especially our Anbu captains, that we won't condone captains going rouge."
"I disagree with that."
Itachi watched as Danzou glared at him before he continued
"Taking me off the active roster when the Akatsuki is still at large is a dangerous move." Itachi simply stated as he looked between the two men "Only a handful of ninjas including myself has actually dealt with a few of their members."
"Intel can be passed along to those who are most likely to run into the Akatsuki if needed" Danzou spoke
Before Itachi could get another word out Kakashi interjected "Enough" Silence engulfed the room once again as Kakashi exhaled softly before looking up at Itachi.
"Like I said Itachi, I will review all of this with the elders and we will go from there but if there isn't anything else-He trailed off.
Itachi shook his head
"Then you're dismissed."
His onyx eyes shifted towards Danzou again and then back at Kakashi before bowing deeply. Turning on the heels of his feet, Itachi quickly left out of the room, closing the door behind him. When Itachi's feet had touched the pavement outside of the Hokage's towers, He exhaled harshly through his nose as he stuck his hands into his front pants pockets. Peering up through his dark lashes, as he watched as the white clouds slowly shifted around in the air, He knew that he needed a moment to regroup. Not really feeling the urge to eat or do anything else, He opted to take a walk hoping that it would allow him a chance to clear his head.
Break
Placing the pen back down on her desk.A soft sigh made it's way past Sakura's lips as she straightened herself, trying to knock the bit of stiffness out of her back before turning her attention to the small clock situated on her edge of her desk. It was going on one o clock in the evening which meant it was almost somewhat time for her to go home. Ever since she had stepped inside the hospital, at the crack of dawn, it seemed like she had been running a mile a minute and every time she would look at any clock, it seemed as time was moving slower than usual and in between the few surgery's she needed to assist in and the amount of bloodwork she had to go over had the medic wondering how her former teacher kept up with everything.
Her lips turned downwards as she thought of her former mentor,If she wasn't mistaken,Lady Tsunade should've been here already filling out out the massive stacks of paperwork, that was piled up on her she hadn't made it by now that only meant that either she was somewhere with a bottle of sake in her hand or gambling but she had to bet the former Hokage was somewhere doing both.
"Sakura."
Pulling herself out her little daze, Sakura slowly looked up to see Shizune standing in her doorway with a small smile on her face. "Please tell me you've found her." Sakura groaned as she pushed the chair away from her desk.
Shizune nodded "I did"
"Why do I feel a but coming on." She groaned
"I just barely managed to catch her just as she and Jiraiya were heading out."
"Heading where?"
Shizune simply shrugged "She didn't say where."
"Do you have idea when she may be back" Sakura asked hoping to get a definitive answer out of Shizune only for her to shake her head.
"She's didn't but she did say that she was sure that you and I could handle whatever was going on." Shizune smiled
The last time Lady Tsunade had said something like that Sakura spent weeks upon weeks trying to finish up the paperwork she had left when she disappeared on them last time.
"If you need me for anything Sakura, I'll be with Ibiki if you need me."
Nodding once, Sakura's finger tapped against the desk in annoyance as she watched as Shizune gave her one last smile before walking out of her office. Leaning back in her chair, Sakura bit down softly on her bottom lip as she wondered why Shizune had chosen to stay in the village, especially when she had been Lady Tsunade's right hand woman for years.
Chuckling softly to herself, she pushed herself away from her desk before grabbing her coat off the back of her chair before leaving out of her office. Stopping by the nurse's station on this floor and grabbed the clipboard before she began making her midday rounds.
First stop Genma Shiranui
As she scanned over Genma's chart for about the third time today, she had been monitoring him and Shisui carefully over the last few days and while Shisui managed to skate by with a few minor bumps and bruises Genma was not as lucky. Even though all his blood test came back normal, she was mostly concerned about the status of his lung, spleen, liver, and kidneys. It looked like his organs were beginning to show signs of failure but she was going to make sure that she ran every test imaginable before she even made that her final decision but honestly, she didn't know how Genma could have survived that long trip back.
She and her team had spent well over ten hours trying to save Genma's life and though they lost him twice,They quickly brought him back and had been monitoring closely. Having told the entire nursing staff that if anything look wrong at the slightest bit to come and find her no matter what time of day it was, at least until he was out of the in front of his assigned room, she knocked twice before she opened the door and peeked inside.
"Knock Knock"
Stepping inside of the room,She paused mid-step as her emerald eyes locked onto the familiar pair of onyx eyes belonging to none other than Uchiha Itachi, as he stood at the foot of Genma's bed with his arms across his chest. In all her years of knowing and having to deal with the stoic Uchiha, she could not quite recall ever seeing him looking so worried before. Giving him a small yet reassuring smile, she turned towards Genma, who tried pulling himself up into a sitting position, only for Itachi to step around the bed and help him up, as he offered her a weak smile underneath the oxygen mask.
"I'll come back in a few." Itachi spoke as he stepped away from Genma before turning to leave out the room only to stop by her side "Give me an update as soon as you can."
Nodding at him, she listened as Itachi easily opened the door and stepped out, leaving the two of them alone.
"This isn't how I wanted you to see me." Genma weakly croaked out as Sakura approached his bedside.
"Yeah and I'm pretty sure this isn't how I expected to see you either Genma." She spoke as she placed the clipboard down on the table next to his bed. "How are you doing today?"
Removing the mask from his face, Gemma spoke "I keep telling the other nurses-He inhaled quickly and exhaled deeply- that I'm doing fine but they won't listen to me."
Her eyebrows scrunched together as she made it over to his bedside and put the mask back over his face "Genma you have to understand that you just came out of a major surgery, about a week ago so I'm actually really surprised that you're up and alert now."
"I learned from the best." He smiled only for Sakura to frown at him.
"If you're referring to your captain then you know that he's a piece of work himself."
"He's our piece of work."
Smirking inwardly, Sakura easily gathered her charka into her hands, as Genma raised up his shirt to allow her to slowly run her hand across his chest.
"Inhale deeply for me….now exhale."
Feeling the slight abnormally in his lungs as they expanded, she removed her hand, "Have you been having even more trouble breathing since you've woken up from surgery?" Sakura asked
"A little bit but I've always had a problem with it way before I got here."
"Did you show signs of this during this last mission?"
Gemma shook his head
"Then how long?"
"A couple of months ago maybe."
"Genma" She warned
"I'm sorry, I've always meant to get it checked up, but we kept getting pulled on missions." He sheepishly smiled at her
"I wish I would've known Genma and I would've personally had you pulled."
"I know that's why I was ordered not to tell you."
She paused "What did you say?"
"Take it easy Sakura" Genma chuckled "I'm just kidding."
Taking a moment to stare at him, she just shook her head "Between you and Naruto, I'm going to pull my hair out."
"Please don't do that besides, Itachi has been looking out for me. He knows that the little one will be coming soon and he's just trying to make sure that we're all taken care of, you know monetary wise"
"I can understand that Genma, I really can but Itachi doesn't need to push you that hard especially if you're having trouble breathing."
"He's not pushing me as much as I'm pushing myself." Genma quickly stated "I don't want to let either of them down."
Feeling her heart drop slightly,she sighed"I know you won't Genma, but I really just want you to take it easy for a while,at least until I can figure out what's going on with you."
"I hear you Sakura."
"Good now I'm going to order some more test which means more blood has to be drawn a-
"Please Sakura-He shook his head- no more needles."
"I'm sorry but that's what happens when you decide to be your own doctor." She smiled as she quickly swiped up Genma's chart "And if you have any trouble breathing Genma, let one of the nurses know and we'll raise the oxygen for you."
He nodded at her as he placed the mask back over his mouth "See you later Sakura."
Giving him one last smile, she turned and left out of the room, where she found Itachi leaning up against the opposite wall, with a small book in his hand.
"Uchiha-san"
Watching as his gaze shifted from the book and up to her, His onyx eyes locked onto her emerald ones "Would you mind walking with me for a little bit, I need to get a nurse to come by and get Genma's labs."
Simply nodding at her, she watched as Itachi closed the book and slipped it into his back pocket before pushing himself off the wall and following her, as she began walking down the somewhat empty corridor.
"Is there any particular reason why you didn't let Genma come to the hospital when he first came to you when he had trouble with his breathing?"
"The first time he even mentioned anything about his breathing was after an 8-hour trip, I just chalked it up to him being out of shape."
"With no breaks in-between?" She seethed "Itachi have you gone insane?"
"Time was of the essence then and besides Genma and those in my squad have done this on a regular basis."
She just shook her head at him "You really must be losing it Itachi, that's completely insane and you know it."
"In order for things to be done in a timely manner, there are things that can be sacrificed." He simply spoke
"Taking care of one's health isn't one of those things and you know this Itachi. Once Genma is good to go, I am not clearing him for duty until I see that he gets whatever is going on with his lungs seen about."
His line of sight shifted towards her "Then am I to assume that you will be taking his place then?" He asked only for her to shake her head
"I'll walk to Iwagakure blindfolded before I work on your team again."
He bit back the smirk "Hm"
Throwing a glance in his direction, A deep sigh made its way past her lips as she gripped the clipboard a little tighter "How did it go this morning?" She asked, her voice softening.
"It doesn't look too good."
"Surely they know that none of this was your fault. Not what happened with Genma or the fact that you know."
"As captain, I'm the one that takes the responsibility for everything that goes on during any missions that we take on." He spoke "Good or bad"
"Still Ita-"
"There is no point in dwelling on it, what's done is done."
Biting softly on the corner of her bottom lip, she exhaled softly as she stopped in her tracks, causing Itachi to stop in-front of her and turn his attention back towards out and grabbing his hand,Sakura pulled him into a empty room and shut the the clipboard down on a table,she wrapped her arms around his waist.
"I don't know what it's like to lose a teammate Itachi-She spoke as she hugged his midsection-but I do know that you're beating yourself up over this but you shouldn't know the risks that we take when we step out the confines of this village,hell even in this life that you and I both dedicate our lives to."
"I know." He spoke coldly as he stood there."It still doesn't mean that this doesn't bother me."
Basking in his presence for a moment and listening to his heart softly thudding in her ear.
"It's going to be okay Itachi."
" I hope so." He muttered
"Has anyone seen Sakura?" The could hear someone out in the hallway ask
"She just came from Genma's room so she couldn't be too far." The other voice chimed in.
Placing a hand underneath her chin,He tilted her head to where his onyx eyes stared into hers "You better get out there before they tear this hospital apart,looking for you."
"I know,I know."
Pushing herself on the tips of her toes,she pecked him on the lips before scurrying out of the room.
Break
When Sakura had stepped inside the confines of her apartment at a quarter past 9 p.m, she easily kicked her sandals off and used her feet to push them off to the side as she stepped further into the dimly lit apartment. Making her way through the kitchen/ living-room area, She paused mid-step as her emerald eyes locked on to several manila folders on her coffee table and quickly realized that those weren't hers. Just as she grabbed the hem of her shirt and pull it off, Itachi emerged from the back,dressed in a plain black shirt and pajama pants and his hair slightly damp.
She gave him a small smile "Didn't feel like getting lectured did you?"
He just looked up at her before simply shaking his to a complete stop in-front of her,He bent down and lingered there for a moment before placing a soft kiss on her forehead before making his way towards the couch. Sitting down,He quickly grabbed one of the folders and opened it
"Your dinner is on the stove." Looking over her shoulder,She stared at the paper bag on her stove and then looked back at him.
"Thank you." She smiled "I'll eat it later. Have you already eaten?
He nodded
"Are you just saying that so I won't fuss?" She asked as her hands automatically found themselves on her hips.
"No,Shisui and Sasuke insisted that I join them for dinner earlier."
"Good maybe they can sense it into you about eating properly." She muttered
"I eat properly."
"You eat as properly as Naruto does and you know it."
An almost inaudible hmpth filled the room as a small smirk made it's way onto her her head at him,She grabbed the hem of her shirt and slipped it off as she made her way towards her didn't take her too long to get washed up before emerging out the bathroom, dressed in one of her oversized she stepped back into the living-room, she found Itachi in the same spot, this time looking back and forth between two pieces of paper. Making her way over to him,She sat down next to him, with her back pressed up against the arm of the couch and watched as he momentarily dropped one of the pieces of papers and grabbed ahold of her legs and placing them across his lap before picking up the paper again.
"Don't let me disturb you if you're doing paperwork."She spoke
Trying to move her legs out of his lap,His long fingers wrapped themselves around her ankle, stopping her as his onyx eyes fell on her.
"You're fine besides I need the distraction." He admitted as he placed the papers down before grabbing her feet and massaging them.
"Have you heard back from Kakashi yet?"She asked curious to hear what her former sensei was going to do about all of this.
He nodded "He's leaning towards suspension."
"What!"Sakura exclaimed as she yanked her feet out of his hands earning her a slight glare from the elder Uchiha "You've got to be kidding me,Itachi please tell me that you're joking?"
Itachi shook his head
"They can't honestly believe that you had any control over what happen."
"I told you as capt-
"I don't want to hear that Itachi, They act like you have the power to control everything that goes on during a mission, That's not fair and they know it,I have half a mind to barge in there and knock some sense into everyone in there." Sakura seethed
"There is no need to get all riled up, What's done is done."
"Itachi sometimes you have to fight sometimes instead of laying down and taking these things."
"I know when to choose my battles and when not to Sakura and this is one that I've chosen not to fight in." He simple spoke
Opening her mouth, her protest died in her mouth as Itachi reached out towards her and grabbed her hands, pulling her into his she stared into his eyes, she could feel all of the newfound her anger leave her body as she was unable to fight the gravitational pull. Pressing her body up against his, her lips met his. Sakura's small hands soon found themselves embedded into his raven locs, as he deepened the kiss.
Feeling her shirt being lifted up slightly,She shivered slightly as his cool hands snaked themselves inside of her shirt as he muttered an apology before his arms tightening around her midsection.
"I've missed you." She muttered against his lips before pulling away from him.
"I know."He teased as his hands crept downwards. She could see his onyx eyes glazed over in lust as he wasn't met with any resistance. Feeling his grip tighten on her thigh, he smirked lazily at him as she grabbed the hem of her shirt and pulled it over her head, leaving her completely bare to his him become unbearably hard,A low moan escaped through her lips as his hands cupped her breast and kneeled her nipples in-between his long fingers before he slowly leaned forward to capture one but a single finger on his lips stopped him.
He eyes flickered back up to her as she gave him a small smile before she slid off of his lap,using her leg to push the coffee table away, giving her a little more leg out and grabbing his erection As she rubbed her hand up and down against his clothed erection,She could hear him inhale sharply before she peered up through her lashes at him. Wrapping both of her hand around the waistband of Itachi's pants,she tugged slightly,freeing him just a bit from the confinement of the pants.
"Sakura." He growled softly
"You need to relax Itachi and this is a good way to do that." She spoke and before he could utter another word,,her mouth immediately latched into him.
After multiple rounds of love making, that spanned from the living room to the kitchen then the hallway, the two of them had finally made it to their final destination which was Sakura's bedroom. When they had finally collapsed in exhaustion, sleep was finally making itself known before the sound of someone knocking on her front door, lulled the sleepy medic from her intended slumber.
She had half-heartily wanted to ignore whomever was at her door but quickly decided against doing just that since she was keeping Genma under close from underneath Itachi's reluctant grasp,She crossed the room and quickly slipped on a shirt and a pair of shorts before leaving out of the room,just as her visitor knocked again.
"Just a moment." She called out as she made her way towards the front door just shooting a glance at the clock on her microwave which read 3:15.
Grabbing ahold of the doorknob,Sakura easily unlocked the door before opening to see Rin, who was one of the new nurses, perched over with her hands on her knees greedily sucking up air.
"Excuse me for bothering you so late Sakura-san" Rin breathed as she exhaled softly before standing up.
"Rin what's the matter?" Sakura asked
"I know that you had us specifically watch over Genma Shiranui incase something happened and I was sent to you tell you that he stopped breathing and that he's now unresponsive."
Her eyebrows scrunched together"What!What happened?"
"I'm not sure but I know that when I left they were trying to revive him."
"Shit!" She cursed under her breath "Give me a moment to get dressed and I'll be there as soon as I can."
Rin nodded "Yes ma'am" She spoke before turning around and heading back to the hospital. Slamming the door shut,Sakura quickly walked back into her bedroom, where she found Itachi, already up and alert.
"What's wrong?"
Quickly grabbing her jacket off the top of her dresser,She threw it on "Genma's unresponsive now they're trying to get him back."
Itachi's onyx eyes narrowed "Did they say what happened" He asked only for Sakura to shake her head.
"I'll be back as soon as I can." She muttered before she suddenly materialized out of the room.
Break
Stepping insides of the confines of the easily rushed past the nurses station before she disappeared into a nearby stairwell,taking the steps two at a the time she had made it to the third floor,She was already pulling her chakra into her hands. The sound of her sandals tapping against the linoleum filled the quiet hallway as she made her way towards Genma's room. Approaching his room,Sakura could easily see a few nurses standing in his assigned room before she stopped in the pairs of eyes fell onto Sakura as she greedily sucked in the air as her eyes fell onto Genma.
"Call it." She could hear one of the nurses say
"Time of death,3-
Stepping into the room,Sakura could feel a bit of despair creep into her stomach as she tore her gaze away from him and onto the towards Genma,Sakura pushed her chakra into his body "What happened."
"We're not sure,I was making my nightly rounds and Genma was awake and alert asking for another blanket since it was a little I finished my rounds and went to get him a blanket but when I returned,He was down and unresponsive."
"Why didn't you have another nurse get him a blanket?" She asked
"We had a few nurses who were out sick today and couldn't get anybody else to come in."
"Then why not come and get me." She seethed
"I was under the impression that you needed to get some rest after the doubles you pulled earlier this week."
"Don't assume anything about me!" I wanted to get rest I wouldn't of specifically told each and every one of you keep me informed!"
"Sakura."
"What!" She seethed as she turned her head only for her emerald eyes to lock up with Itachi's onyx eyes. A moment seemed to pass between the two before she exhaled softly before turning back to the group of nurses. "What's the time of death?"
"3:18"
"Would you like me to page Hachi?" Her head nurse asked
She nodded "Tell him that I need the autopsy done as soon as he can once we can-she swallowed hard- Once we contact Genma's next of kin."
The nurse simply nodded as Sakura as they began to file out of the room and back to their stations only leaving herself and Itachi.
Did she not check up on Genma enough before she went home
Did she write the correct dosage down for his pain medicine
Was he allergic to something she missed
What if-
"Sakura"
Slowly turning around,Sakura's found Itachi's soft gaze once could see the tears gathering in her eyes before he took a few steps toward her.
"What in the hell did I miss?" He could hear her mutter as he watched as a few tears escaped before running down on her face. "There had to be something that I missed."
"Sakura"
Her head snapped up as her emerald eyes locked onto his onyx ones "I swear I did everything I could Itachi."
"I know you did."
Sakura could feel her bottom lip tremble as she bit back the choked sob "I really did."
"Sakura."
"I'll be fine,Can you just give me a moment."
He nodded before turning and leaving out the room, closing the door behind him not before hearing Sakura mutter.
"Damn it Genma."
Stuffing his hands into his pockets,Itachi turned and was about to take a seat in the nearest chair when he spotted Ibiki and Hachi heading towards him. Watching as Hachi gave him a curt nod before disappearing into the same room as Sakura.
"Itachi"
His onyx eyes slid towards Ibiki "Walk with me."
Throwing one more glance in the direction of Genma's room,He sighed softly before he and Ibiki began walking away.
When Sakura emerged from the hospital at a quarter til nine,a small headache had been brewing in the back of her head as she waited on Hachi to conduct and finish Genma's knew that it would take Hachi up to six weeks to give her his full report but she had an borderline of an idea of what actually killed him but couldn't say for sure until she had that full report.
I don't even feel like I deserve to rest,not until I see about-
Sakura's heart nearly dropped in her stomach as her mind immediately shifted to Genma's pregnant poor woman had no absolutely no idea that he was gone.
"Kami." Sakura breathed deeply as she rounded the corner, only to almost run into both Sasuke and Shisui.
"Sakura,Have you seen Itachi anywhere?" She could hear Shisui ask her
She shook her head "I haven't seen anyone in the last-What time is it?"
"Almost 9 o clock"
"I haven't seen anyone in the last six hours or so. Why,what's wrong."
Shisui shook his head "Nothing's wrong,We had planned on sparring today but Itachi never showed up."
"That doesn't sound like him,Have you checked the Anbu headquarters?"
"Yeah,He wasn't there either."
" I see him,I'll let him if you excuse me,I need to go crash for a few hours."
Stepping away from the two of them,Sakura was about to walk away when Shisui spoke up again. "Hey Sakura,I swung by a bit earlier to see Genma but he wasn't in his room,Did you guys move him or something?"
Sakura sighed deeply as she shook her head "I'm sorry Shisui but he-she paused for a moment- passed away this morning."
"W-What?"
"I know Shisui,just please give me a few hours to sleep and I'll explain what I can okay."
"Y-Yeah."
She gave him a soft smile before she turned back around and headed towards the elevator. The walk back to her apartment was filled with Sakura's brain racking through everything that she had learned about Genma's cause of death and the actual whereabouts of Itachi. She was sure that he might've wanted to know what was going on but she wasn't sure that,that was such a good idea.
Stepping into the confines of her apartment,she slid out of her sandals and pushed them to the side before venturing further into her apartment, and paused as she found Itachi sitting on the couch,with his head tilted back with his eyes closed.
"Itachi" She called out softly as she neared him "Where have you been?Shisui and Sasuke have been looking for you."
"Ibiki wanted to meet with me then the Hokage summoned me."
She took another step towards him "What did they want?"
"They're looking into Genma's death."
"But I'm not sure what that has to do with you though?" She spoke as she made her way over to him and sat down.
"They're launching an investigation into whether I neglected my duties as captain which resulted in Genma's death."He spoke calmly "As of now I've been relieved of my duties as captain."
"Starting when?"
"Effective immediately."
"Itachi." Sakura sighed softly as she snuggled closer to him "We'll get through matter what happens I'll be by your side."
Feeling him pull her closer to him,He placed a small kiss on the top of her head "I know."
