Speaking of which, here's the newest one: Daniel Falls (Lifereader)
Now, we're going to get to the actual transformations really soon, but first a moment with our favorite teacher/Pokemon in disguise...
Miss Melody's POV
After my lord Arceus had left, I remained sitting on the porch, wondering just what the repercussions of his command would lead to. I had sworn never to use my transforming powers again, but it appeared Arceus had other plans.
At the corner of my mind, I sensed the girl who'd gotten up sneaking back to bed. I wondered what she was thinking about me now. She had seen the whole thing; she now knew that I was Mew and that I had just used a spell that would turn her and everyone else here into Pokemon. She probably thought I was a monster now.
No one had ever said being a Guardian was going to be easy. But sometimes I wished it wasn't so hard. I had seen so much, suffered so much, but a Guardian served until death. There was no escaping it.
I waited a bit longer, allowing Arceus to converse with Coach Vernon/Victini, then stood up, and stretched. I needed someone to talk to, someone who was as aware of our true forms and responsibilities as me, and Vernon was that person. I quietly walked over to the boy's cabin, where I could see him standing on the porch and staring out towards the nearest ward.
As I walked, I kept glancing over at all the Pokemon-themed accessories Vernon and I had set up. Two weeks of vacation, I had requested. I had gained it, but whatever interdimensional politics we were handling now had ended it before it had barely even began. It was depressing, really.
When I reached the porch, Vernon said, "Arceus filled me in. Of all the times the Dark Three could've struck..."
"Believe me, I know.", I said, making my way to one of the deck chairs, "How are the wards?"
Vernon replied, "They're standing, for now. But I can sense the telltale absent presence of a Dark-type poking around. They really should have sent someone with an advantage with us."
"Remember, I can use every possible attack. I can fight off a Dark-type, assuming it isn't powerful enough to destroy me first.", I stated.
"Yeah, that's right. But it still would've been nice to have someone without a weakness along.", said Vernon.
We remained quiet for a minute or two. Finally, he whispered, "Why did you agree to do it?"
"Do what?", I asked, although I already had an idea what he was asking.
"Why did you cast the transform spell?", he replied.
I sighed. "Believe me, if I had a choice, I wouldn't have. But you know Arceus can't understand the word no."
Vernon nodded. "What are we going to do for the children? They're going to be confused, alarmed, without any of the knowledge or skills we have. How will we help them?"
I answered, "We're going to tell them everything. We're going to train them, and we're going to keep them safe. Eventually, we're going to track down the Dark Three, and we're going to destroy them."
Vernon said, "Even though everyone else has already tried and failed?"
I nodded. "I cannot tolerate their presence anymore. We're going to make these kids the strongest there ever was, and we're going to chase those three fiends down and annihilate them. After all they've done, this will be the end. It will be."
Vernon nodded in agreement. After a little while, he said, "This is probably a bad idea, but I don't particularly want to do a flat-out announcement before the...changes, occur. They would think we were insane, plus I want to maintain the illusion that we're on vacation just a bit longer."
I said, "To be honest, I agree. But they're going to notice things pretty quickly when people disappear or transform right in front of them."
"We'll tell them once they figure it out.", Vernon said, "Plus, I just get this weird feeling that someone is writing this plot in a specific way. By sheer coincidence, no one's going to end up figuring it out until it's almost over."
I chuckled. "You and I both know that writers build new dimensions whenever they set pen to paper, or finger to keyboard."
Vernon nodded. "Now, let's go back to our cabins, and pretend that none of this is actually happening. We'll let our storyteller weave his magic in peace." (-o-)
Brianna's POV
I couldn't get back to sleep the whole night.
All I could think about was that conversation between Miss Melody and Arceus. It was even more impossible to believe than Vernon snapping his fingers and summoning a camp. But it had happened, and on top of that all of us were going to turn into Pokemon because of it.
The only gratification was that Miss Melody hadn't wanted to do it. However, she hadn't tried very hard to argue with Arceus, possibly because he was basically God. And now all I could think about was my incoming fate.
The best I could hope for was that I'd get to turn into an Umbreon or a Zoroark. But with my rotten luck, it would be something stupid like Seel or Dunsparce or, heaven forbid, a Magikarp. The worst part was that there was no way of knowing until it actually happened, and the anxiety was keeping me wide awake.
I pretended to be asleep when Miss Melody re-entered the cabin, but I knew she was a Psychic Pokemon and could probably sense my racing thoughts. But she didn't even glance at me as she headed to the back and climbed into her own bed. Soon, her soft snoring joined that of my fellow cabin-mates.
All of whom I now knew were going to turn into Pokemon the next day.
As much as I had wanted to know the secret behind Vernon's magic, this was not worth it. I kept nervously awaiting any strange sensation, any sign that I was starting to transform. Every itch caused a shiver of terror, every noise that my cabinmates made in their slumber caused me to check if they were changing.
The long, terrible night passed without further incident, and as the sun started shining a few rays through the window, I got up to take a walk, and think.
I got dressed quietly and headed outside, setting down the trail that led to the lake. It was a beautiful morning, but I hardly noticed it. I fiddled with my necklace absently, the words Arceus had said running in circles through my mind.
I arrived at the beach, and sat down in the sand. To my right, the sunrise illuminated the lake and sent cascades of sparkles across its surface, but that just made me remember the strange rainbow energy of Miss Melody's spell. I shuddered at the memory...and kept trembling.
I immediately recognized something was wrong. Then I felt a spike of pain rush up my spine, and a strange pressure at its base. It rapidly built up, pressing against my pants, until suddenly something popped out of it into the chilly air.
I didn't want to look, but I immediately knew it for what it was. My transformation had started. I now had a tail.
It felt so stupidly wrong, sticking out behind me. I felt it brush against my back, and I also felt it from my tail. It was furry, I could tell. Guess that ruled out Magikarp, then.
Before I could continue exploring the strange new addition to my body, I felt a sharp pain all over my skin, like an army of needles was pushing out from my skin. I curled up, restraining a cry of pain. One thing for sure, I was not going to scream like a little girl.
I could see my arms in front of me, and watched as brown fur erupted out all over them. Shoot, that ruled out both Umbreon and Zoroark in one go.
But wait...Judging by the size it felt my tail was, and the color of my fur, I wondered if I was turning into an Eevee. Although I was scared to find out, I bent my head so I could see my tail.
Sure enough, it was big, bushy, and tipped with a white splotch shaped like a heart. Argh, so cute and adorable!
My vision was blocked, though, as a white puffy mane poofed out from my neck, covering a portion of the slogan on my shirt. Yup, definitely was turning into an Eevee.
I felt my ears stretch out unnaturally, until they grew long and pointy. Suddenly, I could hear subtle sounds from all the way back at camp, as people started getting up. Oh no, please don't let them find me like this!
I felt my face puff out into a pointed muzzle, and my teeth sharpening and expanding to fill the space. Now I was bombarded by strange new smells as well, leading to my brain struggling with potential sensory overload.
My fingers and toes started shrinking, blending into paws. Strange, sensitive pads emerged from my palms and soles of my feet, and I became distinctly aware of how uncomfortable my shoes were. Then, with a painful snapping wrench, my arms and legs contorted into unnatural positions that were normal only to Eevee.
Then came the worst part. With a painful squeezing sensation, I shrank and shrank, and my body adopted a quadrapedal position. My insides shifted nauseatingly, and I bit down a wave of bile.
And suddenly, it was over. I squirmed around in the dark confines of my shirt, but managed to crawl out the neck hole. I felt a light weight around my neck, and I smiled as I realized I was still wearing my necklace. No matter what, I refused to lose that.
Now came the important thing. I needed to see my reflection, to find out what I looked like now. I tried to step forwards...and fell flat on my face.
Sneezing and spitting out sand, I yelled at myself. I was no longer human; I was a four-legged Eevee. Naturally I couldn't walk the way I was used to.
Let's see...how to approach this...
I thought about the way I'd seen cats walk, and attempted to move like that. Although I had to think carefully about my every step, I slowly made my way to the edge of the water.
When I reached it, I looked down and saw my new face.
A sweet round face, adorably wide hazel eyes, a silver necklace obviously too big for me, a long tuft of fur on my head. One of my long ears wiggled sweetly. Argh, I was so freaking CUTE! I'd never live this down!
Well, I thought, at least this can't possibly get any worse.
"OHMYGOSHAREALEEVEEIT'SSOCUTEI'MGONNADIE!"
Welp, never mind. It got worse.
Running over to me was Mia, of course. She knelt down next to me and asked, with barely contained enthusiasm, "Can I pet you? Please?"
She didn't seem to realize that Pokemon weren't supposed to exist.
I tried saying, "Hey, it's me, Brianna!", but all that came out was "Voi, veevee, veevoivoi!" Oh no, I couldn't talk English! What had this spell done to me?!
"You're so adorable...", sighed Mia, reaching a hand out. I felt an irrational urge to run, but I managed to remain calm. She started petting me, and for some reason, it felt like one of the best feelings in the world. I unconsciously rubbed my head into her hand, and Mia was positively beaming.
Until a strange shudder passed through it. "Oh, I feel...odd...", she whispered, and then she started transforming.
Unlike with my transformation, her ears changed first, pointing straight up and turning into neat red triangles. Red fur emerged all over her skin, but it was much darker around her hands. Mia looked startled, but also curious.
Then, with a startled gasp, she fell forwards, as one - no, two - wait, four - now six - floofy tails erupted from her behind. As she fell, her hands shifted into paws much like mine. Her hair turned into the floofy curled style of Vulpix's, and that bow of hers remained stubbornly fastened to it.
Her face grew into a muzzle, and then she finally shrank down until she was my size, tumbling out of her now considerably larger clothing.
"Hi, Mia.", I said.
Mia gasped, her new form allowing her to understand me again. "Brianna!? You're an Eevee?! And-" She turned to look at her tails. "Now I'm a Vulpix?"
"Yup.", I replied.
"That is so COOL! I never thought I would end up being a Vulpix! That's one of my favorite Pokemon - this is AMAZING!", Mia exclaimed.
I was astonished at how excited she was. "Don't you get it? We're Pokemon now! Our lives are never going to be the same - we'll be lucky if we don't get captured and taken to, I dunno, Area 51 or something!"
Mia didn't seem to hear me. "Just wait until I show my brother! He's going to be so surprised!"
I heard footsteps coming, and quickly pushed Mia under the pier, proceeding to hide under there myself. I peeked out to see, and saw Zola looking at the pile of clothes on the beach and frowning.
Mia asked, "Why are we hiding?"
"Shhhh!", I replied.
Zola muttered, "What are these clothes doing here? They look like Mia's and Brianna's. Are they swimming or something?" She called, "Mia! Brianna!"
"Here!", Mia cried, before I could hush her.
"What the-" Zola looked under the pier, and her eyes widened considerably. "Wait a second - that's Mia's bow and Brianna's necklace! Did you two turn into Pokemon somehow?"
I nodded glumly. Zola looked very worried.
"Oh my gosh...how did this happen to you?", she asked.
Mia replied, "I don't know, but it's awesome!"
Zola sighed. "Darn, I can't understand you anymore. What are we going to do?"
Just then, Lulu shouted, "Zola! Is there something under the pier?"
Zoe added eagerly, "Did you find Bruce?"
Zola looked over to them. "Hey gals, you're going to want to see this..."
The three other members of our gang hurried over and looked under the pier. Lulu gasped in shock, Zoe was grinning excitedly, and Rei...remained emotionless as always.
"How did this happen?", asked Lulu, "This shouldn't be scientifically possible."
Zoe replied, "Remember the magic Brianna spotted Vernon using? I'll bet that this is related. Maybe this is Vernon's revenge."
Lulu stated, "But why Mia as well? Unless..." She put a hand over her mouth. "What if it's contagious?"
"Well, we're all doomed now then.", Zoe replied, "Who wants to place bets on our transformations?"
"That's a horrible idea.", stated Lulu, "Shouldn't we tell someone about this, like the teachers?"
I shouted, "No! They're behind it! Kinda..."
The four girls looked at each other.
"Any idea what Brianna tried telling us?", asked Lulu.
Zola shook her head. "Maybe trying to tell us what we should do? No idea right now."
Lulu stood up. "Well, I'm going to alert the cam - AAAAAAAA!"
That last part was caused by the sprouting of a metallic bump on the back of her hands.
"Uh oh.", said Zoe, "It does seem to be conta - YOWCH!"
A black fluffy tail emerged from behind her.
Zola looked in horror at the two of them. Rei showed a hint of alarm, then promptly swooned as strange white feathers started growing all over her skin.
Oh, and Zola's hair started rapidly growing into two really long caramel braids. She didn't notice it, though, as she was too busy staring at her transforming friends.
Lulu was quickly covered in blue and black fur, forming a mask around her eyes. Zoe was also covered in fur now, although hers was black. Rei, meanwhile, now had white feathers and two metallic rings around her neck. Zola's new hairstyle finished growing, and now she realized she was transforming. Her two braids still had the golden beads, though.
After less than a minute, everyone's transformation then reached its end.
Lulu was now a Riolu, looking very offended that her body had rejected the laws of science. The two black aura-sensing braids underneath her ears both had a feather threaded through them.
Zoe was now a Zorua and grinning like a fool. She had lucked out on that one, and I wished that I had turned into a Zorua instead. At least, I wouldn't have looked quite as ridiculously cute, not to mention the cool powers Zorua had that Eevee didn't.
Rei was now a Reshiram, which meant anyone who came over here would immediately recognize something was wrong. Rei's eyes were still red, which meant she was technically an albino Reshiram. Not that there was really any difference. Her white feathers were blindingly bright.
As for Zola, she was also a Legendary, having turned into Zacian. She still had the scars and tattered ear, but no battles to go with them.
None of us had any idea what we were going to do.
"Guess this rules out talking to the teachers.", grumbled Lulu, struggling to put her backpack back on. It was now almost as big as she was, but her Fighting-type seemed to be helping her out.
"Well...there's something I saw last night I didn't get to tell you about.", I said, and told them about Miss Melody and Arceus.
After I finished, Zoe stated, "Welp. Our teachers are Mew and Victini. I kinda already figured this out, but it's nice to have some confirmation."
All of us stared at her in shock.
"What? Kinda obvious if you think about it.", Zoe said defensively.
Zola asked, "So, uh, what are we going to do now? We're Pokemon, and everybody else is about to be Pokemon, and apparently Arceus is panicking about some bad guys hunting us. All in all a normal camping trip, eh?"
Zoe said, "Guess so, for this school at least."
Suddenly, we heard voices coming down the trail.
"Ack, we can't let them see us like this!", cried Lulu.
Zola's eyes suddenly glowed, and a thick bank of fog rolled over the lake, concealing us from sight.
"Whoa. You just used magic!", exclaimed Mia.
I heard a voice I recognized as belonging to Steven say, "Yikes, where did this fog come from? Oh well, looks like we're going to play beach soccer later."
The footsteps headed back up the trail, and everyone except Rei breathed a sigh of relief. But Rei did seem more relaxed.
Zola shuddered, her eyes losing their glow. "Wow. That's new.", she stated, "At least we can hide out for a bit, until the fog clears up."
Zoe said, "You literally just used magic, after only being a Zacian for like, thirty seconds. Now I wanna learn my cool powers!"
Lulu replied, "First let's figure out a strategy for our new forms. What are we going to do now?"
I came out from under the pier and started pushing together our piles of clothes. "First we gotta hide these."
"Sounds like a good idea.", agreed Lulu, "Let me help you out."
She started helping me gather them up. Zoe looked up nervously, as the fog was rapidly dissipating.
"Hey, I'm not an expert on magic mist, but should it be clearing up that fast?", she asked.
Lulu said, "Um, probably not." Then she looked at Rei's new tail, which was basically a giant furnace. "That's probably why. Didn't the Pokedex say Reshiram's tail messed with weather patterns?"
"Shoot, you're right.", replied Zola, "Let's hurry, I don't know if I can summon more mist!"
Zoe said, "We can hide out in the forest, it's unlikely anyone will find us."
Mia stated, "I don't even know why we need to hide."
Lulu replied, "Who knows what could happen if we're seen by the others!? They'll assume we're real Pokemon, and, I dunno, try to catch us!"
Zola said, "With what? Pokeballs don't exist, so we might be fine in that department. But there is a chance they might get the government involved, or panic and run right into the trap of whatever bad things are capable of making the freaking god of Pokemon nervous. Hiding for a little while won't do much harm."
Everyone's stomachs growled as soon as she said that.
"A little while.", repeated Zola, "Then we're going to have to eat something."
Lulu had all the clothes gathered now. "Where are we putting these?", she asked.
"Let's hide them under the pier for now. It sounds like people are coming back, and Rei's fancy tail is burning up our smokescreen.", I answered.
Lulu chucked the pile under the pier. "Let's get going immediately.", she said.
No one argued, and we stumbled and hurried to the forest, trying to hide from curious eyes. (-o-)
