AN: This chapter will introduce another new character, and with them another potential transformation method! The rest of the chapter will focus on character interactions, and next chapter I'll try to advance the plot further.

Seria's POV

I awoke bound to a strange bed, my limbs clamped down with steel bands. At first, I did not remember what I was doing here. Then it all came back to me.

I was from a futuristic country rapidly collapsing into anarchy. I had become a scavenger, hunting down whatever I could salvage. But then I had a run-in with a group of purple-armored troops. They'd beaten me to unconsciousness, and now I'd waken up...here.

With a sinking feeling of dread, I realized what must be going on. I'd been captured by one of the more scientific mega-corporations, and I was about to be used for some horrible experiments. I sighed and closed my eyes, ignoring my pounding headache. I was going to die, far from my home, in some sterile laboratory. I would've rather died fighting, or been killed in my sleep, instead of suffering the results of whatever they were going to do to me.

I heard a sliding door hiss open. Walking over to me was a man in a purple-and-white coat and an eerie mechanical mask. He was holding a datapad and was looking at me with curiosity.

"How are you today?", he asked, the mask changing his voice so it couldn't be used to track him.

I did not respond, and he scribbled some notes into his datapad. He said, "Very well, then. I'll just dive right into it then. You may call me Dr. X. I work for Genesis Corps. You've probably heard of us, right? Forefront of technology, pioneer of cross-dimensional travel? Yes, I do believe you have."

He strode over to a rack of terrifying implements. "As we expand our influence across the realms, we've encountered a powerful group of sentient creatures calling themselves the Guardians." He pulled out a thick syringe and tested its point, seemingly satisfied with its sharpness. "We now seek to determine their power and use it for ourselves. We caught one by the name of 'Mew the Third', which somehow contains the entire genetic code of these Guardians. A real jackpot, wouldn't you agree?"

I remained silent, growing ever more concerned with the direction this was going.

"We have begun our work already. The first few subjects all died, but we believe we've created a more stable, less lethal serum. I estimate a 65 percent chance you'll survive this. And if you don't, well, no one's going to miss you.", he continued.

He plugged the syringe into a container of a strange pink liquid. He said, "If this works as intended, you will become one of the most powerful entities in existence. You will serve us well as we extend our reach across the multiverse."

The syringe finished filling up. He removed it, and studied it carefully. He declared, "This will not be quick. Our science is good, but we cannot completely alter a human body in five minutes. The transformation will take anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months. It will undoubtedly be painful. I am curious to see how you will handle it."

As soon as he said "transformation", I started struggling to escape. But I was trapped like a fly in amber. Dr. X turned towards a hidden camera, and declared, "Project 42 is ready to begin. I want all of you to keep a close eye on the subject's statistics. Or else you'll be next!"

Then with no warning he whirled around and plunged the needle into my shoulder.

The pain was instantaneous. It felt as if my blood had turned to fire, and I bit back a scream. I felt a dark chill pass through me, and then a strange pressure building up at the base of my spine.

Dr. X stepped back, looking perfectly relaxed as I writhed in my bindings. The pressure continued building, and my brain felt like it was melting. I felt involuntary tears trickling down my face, but I refused to show weakness to the man in front of me.

I felt something tear under me, and a long fuzzy thing started growing down between my legs. It felt like a...tail.

Dr. X seemed pleased. He jotted down a few more notes, as the pain overtook my body. As my vision darkened, I looked down, and saw it.

A long, purple tail, almost as long as I was and covered in a fine fur.

That's when I passed out. (-o-)

Simon's POV

I sat at the edge of the old court, near where the still-fainted Kai and Gavin were rested. Kipper sat next to me, and I once again marveled at the fact that he was now taller than me.

Kipper said, "Gosh, I sure hope those two are alright. That looked like a painful battle."

I nodded. "The teachers are going to be doing more of them soon. We were turned into Pokemon, and Pokemon are meant to battle. I sure wish I'd studied more on the more recent games. Quite a few of us are Pokemon from them. I'm one of them, in fact."

Kipper replied, "I'm sure we'll figure it out. Hey, do you think they'll train me too?"

I answered, "I'm not sure."

Kipper replied, "Well, I hope so! I want to be able to defend you much easier! Those flashy moves look like a good way to do it."

I nodded slightly. "I suppose."

Just then, several of the others showed up. I recognized Mia, Brianna, Anthony, and Daniel. They sat down beside me and looked over the two fainted kids.

Anthony stated, "I sure hope this doesn't become the new norm. Being knocked out like that does not look fun in the slightest."

Daniel attempted to adjust his coat, but it was still clearly too big for him. He sighed, and said, "Well, if it makes anyone feel better, the longer we battle the better we'll get."

Mia agreed, "Yeah! Besides, Pokemon battles are awesome and we can actually participate in them now! I can't wait to try one myself!"

Brianna rolled her eyes exaggeratingly.

After a minute or two of some silence, Anthony asked, "So, Brianna, how does it feel to be something so cute-looking?"

She shot a glare at him, and he fell over Paralyzed.

"Oh, come on!", he cried.

Brianna snickered. "Oh, this Pokemon move thing is hilarious."

Anthony struggled to get back up on his feet, grumbling the whole time.

Miss Melody walked over at that point, and when she saw Anthony's dilemma, she picked up a large yellow berry from a pile next to Kai, and tossed it to him. Anthony quickly ate it, and his paralysis was cured.

Brianna complained, "Come on! That wasn't any fun!"

Miss Melody checked over Kai and Gavin, and declared, "They should wake up within the hour. I do hope Hoopa can source some Revives so we don't have to worry about this in the future."

I sighed in relief, glad about the fact that we wouldn't spend several hours of each day fainted.

"Couldn't we have splashed some water on them?", asked Brianna, "Wouldn't that have worked?"

Miss Melody shook her head. "This isn't like when a human faints. It's a natural healing state Pokemon enter when they take too much damage. There's no way to wake them up until they've healed at least half the damage."

Daniel shrugged. "Makes some sense, I guess."

Mia looked around curiously. "Miss Melody, I've been meaning to ask, what exactly is this place? Besides a really cool training ground?"

Miss Melody sat down, and said, "Surprisingly enough, no one actually knows. When we first started exploring the multiverse, shortly after our creation, we found it like this. Every single version is empty and ruined."

I frowned in confusion. "How is that possible?"

Miss Melody replied, "We were not the first things to be created. Long ago, before the modern multiverse even was thought of, there was a dimension-crossing race. The remains of their existence can be found in every dimension, but yet we know almost nothing about them. We call them the Precursors, and one of our biggest missions is to try to learn the truth about them."

"The Precursors? Sounds impressive.", stated Daniel, "It's odd that no one can find anything about them, though. If they were everywhere, and had the technology to do so, wouldn't there be some sort of writing or artwork at least somewhere?"

Miss Melody shook her head. "That's the strangest thing. All we've found are their ruined buildings. Nothing else. We think the floating lights might be a clue, but none of us can figure it out."

I looked over at one of the floating blue spheres. I did not know how it could be a secret message, but it had been left by an alien race. Who knew what they'd been like?

Mia said, "That sounds cool. I wonder if we'll learn more about them when we start our quest?"

Miss Melody shook her head. "That's very unlikely. I'm no stranger to plot magic, but if the Guardians have found nothing in the millions of years we have existed, I doubt we'll find anything now."

Mia's ears folded down as she complained, "Awwww."

Miss Melody stood up, and said, "Well, it's time for another training session. I wonder who Vernon will pick this time..." (-o-)

Zoe's POV

It took me a few minutes, but I finally managed to track down Hoopa, all while stumbling around on my four stubby legs. Grrr, why couldn't Pokemon have given Zorua some more realistic proportions? My new legs were ridiculous!

Well, at least I had cool illusion powers, assuming I figured out how to use them.

I found Hoopa sitting quietly in the back, looking thoughtfully over the court. I called out, "So, uh, you managed to do an illusion? Any chance you could help me figure out how to do them myself?"

Hoopa looked down at me. "Zoe, right? Hoopa will see how Hoopa can help."

"Oh, thank you.", I replied.

Hoopa floated over and said, "Illusions are easy to do, especially since you're a Pokemon meant to use them. However, that's just part of it. You also need to know how to fool everyone else with it, or else your illusion will fail."

I nodded. "Uh-huh. So, how do I summon one?"

Hoopa tossed one of his rings into the air. "Hoopa does not want to repeat Hoopaself. Hoopa will summon all other illusion users first."

The ring opened up into a portal, and Zola and Akio fell out of it.

"Ack, really!?", Akio yelled, after he banged his head on the floor.

Zola glared at Hoopa. "Why did you do that?"

Hoopa crossed his arms as the ring returned to its horn. "Hoopa will teach you how to use Illusion."

Zola replied, "Hmm, well that does sound kind of cool."

Akio grumbled, "Fine, how long is this going to take?"

Hoopa replied, "As long as it takes for you to use an illusion successfully."

"So...how do you do that?", I demanded.

Hoopa answered, "It's simple enough. Imagine something you want to summon an illusion of, then imagine it becoming real. It is easier if you can directly see what you're attempting to copy."

I noticed Akio and Zola immediately close their eyes and begin imagining something. I simply stared at Hoopa and tried to imagine an illusion forming.

I immediately felt a surge of strange energy, and mist whirled around me. When the mist faded, I looked like another Hoopa.

I felt the same as before, proving that it was just an illusion, but it certainly looked impressive. Hoopa looked rather startled, and I grinned viciously. The illusion did the same.

At the same time, I noticed Akio and Zola conjure their own illusions. Akio had made an illusion that resembled his human form, and Zola had copied one of the nearby wisps. Hoopa looked even more surprised.

"No one figures it out so fast!", exclaimed Hoopa, "Hoopa is impressed, but also worried. If you are already displaying proficiency in your abilities, then that means you are indeed the ones spoken of in the prophecy. That isn't good at all."

"What is this prophecy?", Zola asked.

Hoopa shook his head. "Hoopa cannot tell you at this time. Too dangerous."

I growled, "Oh, come on! This is just a way to hide the plot! No fair!"

Before Hoopa could try to defend himself, we suddenly heard Vernon shout, "The next battle is starting! Nicholas Henry v.s. Barry Jun!" (-o-)

AN: Another chapter done! Although it is a darker method, you can have an OC get transformed via the Genesis Corps. However, they will probably remain as an anthro-Pokemon for a little while (aka a human with Pokemon attributes). The Genesis Corps will be very important in the future, and is basically this story's variant of Teaj Rocket, if it was a dystopian dimension-crossing mega-corporation.

See you next time, and happy Pokemon hunting!
