We've used around half the available slots now, and I am considering cutting the limit down, so act soon if you haven't already submitted a character! We have one Shiny slot left and eight Legendary slots.

Additionally, there was an error with the last chapter where it was a copy of Chapter 9, but that should be fixed now.

Now, let us continue the story!

Jack's POV

I had no idea what my twin brother was thinking, but I certainly had not expected him to volunteer for the next battle right after the double knockout that had resulted from the previous one.

I stood at the edge of the court, wearing my typical headphones around my neck and keeping my glasses perched on top of my huge fluffy ears. I had quickly gotten used to my new form, although it was still quite odd to walk on four legs and have a big bushy tail sticking out of my behind.

Nicholas had taken longer to get used to being a Tepig, and he did not seem to be enjoying it. Yet he had voted to battle in the next round. That did not seem right.

I could see him now, stretching and warming himself up. Despite being the younger twin, he'd always been bigger, stronger, and more athletic than me. On the opposite end of the field, Barry was also stretching. Glancing at his vicious-looking claws and tail, I wondered just what my brother was getting himself into. Not to mention that Barry had a type advantage.

Vernon (who was still floating around in Victini form) hovered over the battlefield, looking eager to see what would happen this time. He seemed to be the only one not worried about the potential outcome of this battle. I was starting to not like him as much.

Once everyone had gathered, Vernon declared, "We are now beginning the second training battle! Two of our beloved sports team are testing their skills against each other! Get ready, set, go!"

Nicholas immediately charged across the court, wisps of smoke rising from his nostrils. Barry was similarly eager, lunging with his claws outspread and ready to attack.

Nicholas tackled Barry and knocked him to the ground. Barry slipped out from beneath him, and shouted, "Shiny!" Immediately sparkles plumed from every person who'd turned into a Shiny Pokemon (myself included), which had the bonus effect of temporarily blinding my brother.

"An interesting technique!", declared Vernon, "That could prove useful in the upcoming conflict!"

Nicholas growled as he shook the sparkles out of his eyes. The debuff activated on Barry, who was currently trying to climb up one of the pillars. Nicholas smiled, and took a deep breath. Then he snorted a small fireball out of his nose, which struck Barry and made him lose his grip.

But as he fell, Barry spread his arms, and he slowed his fall into a silent glide, landing at the edge of the pool. Nicholas saw his chance, and charged at an impossible speed, knocking Barry into the water. I cheered as a large splash occured.

But Barry was not out of it yet. He latched his claws onto the side of the pool, and pulled himself back on land. With a yell, Barry threw himself at Nicholas and lashed out with his tail, and purple bubbles rose up around my brother. I was spooked, immediately recognizing it as the Poisoned condition.

Nicholas yelped, but then narrowed his eyes and fired a much-larger fireball at Barry. Barry fell over, a flash of flames alerting everyone to the fact he was now Burned. Now it was a question of who would overwhelm the other faster.

"Go, Nicholas!", I shouted, "You can do it!"

Nicholas grinned, and fired another super-powered fireball. Barry stumbled, and fell over, swirls on his eyes. He had fainted!

Miss Melody appeared, and a pink wave of healing magic emanated from her, curing the status conditions on both fighters. This was followed up by a few berries, and soon Barry had recovered. It had gone much faster than with Gavin and Kai.

Nicholas trotted over to me, triumphant. He grinned at me and said, "That was awesome! I'm surprised at how fast he went down."

I asked, "Why did you do it?"

He frowned slightly. "We were turned into Pokemon in order to be able to 'defend ourselves' and fight some sort of enemy. I want to learn how to use my moves in order to deal with this problem and get turned human again faster. It worked: now I know I can use Tackle, Growl, Quick Attack, and Ember."

I replied, "Well, I'm not sure if that Growl thing is a move or just something we all can do. You've seen how many times we accidentally use those types of moves."

Nicholas nodded. "Yeah, but those fireballs were certainly moves. I think you can use them too, if you tried."

I shrugged. "Maybe, but I don't want to have to do those battles in order to find out."

Nicholas replied, "Maybe you don't have to. As soon as I entered the battle, it just clicked in my mind how to use them. Presumably we all can do the same, if you focus on it."

I answered, "Well, that sounds good."

Nicholas said, "In fact, let's try that right now! There's some random rocks over there we could practice on."

I replied, "Sounds like a plan! Let's go!"(-o-)

Matthew's POV

It was quite weird to be a Pokemon that was literally a sentient computer program.

It would not have been my first choice to turn into a Porygon. But I supposed there were worse Pokemon out there, and it was quite awesome to have downloaded everything in my special USB drive. Not to mention the fact that I could use every single move within it.

After that rather one-sided battle, I continued practicing my various attacks, refining and empowering them. As I did so, I noticed the others gathering and watching curiously. Vernon appeared, and set up a row of targets. Apparently he'd decided to let us train against non-living things, and raised the question of why he hadn't decided to do so before.

Glaring at one of the targets, I chose my Lucario's attacks and used Aura Sphere.

In a flash of blue light, the target was shattered to pieces.

The others seemed to be inspired by my example, and started attempting to use their own moves. Nicholas used Ember and set one of the targets on fire. Gavin showed his siblings how to use Quick Attack. Kai glared at him and fired off a Thunder Shock, zapping the target Gavin had been charging and sending him flying into a wall. Sore loser, I supposed.

I also spotted Zoe, but was astonished when she transformed into a copy of one of the targets. But I quickly determined that she must have figured out her Illusion ability.

The rest of the campers were struggling to use even just one of their powers. I noticed Miss Melody trying to assist them, telling them to try channeling their "aura" and use it as an attack. I wasn't sure how to do that, and instead mentally selected my Tyranitar and used Stone Edge. A target flew off and struck the distant cave ceiling above us, causing a cloud of dust to fall.

I once again marveled at how cool this was. I was a real Pokemon, a Shiny one too, and I could use all sorts of cool powers! It astonished me how no one else seemed to find this as awesome.

I selected Charizard and shot off a Flamethrower. As soon as I fired it, Mia raced over. "Ooh, could you teach me how to do that?", she asked, "I really want to learn a Pokemon move!"

I replied, "Affirmative. Unfortunately, I am not sure how to teach you."

Mia said, "Aw man! Well, how do YOU do it? Perhaps that will help."

I answered, "I downloaded the statistics of every Pokemon I ever used, and it just clicked into place."

"Clicked into place...so, instinct?", Mia replied, "Hmm..."

She focused on one of the many targets, and took a deep breath. Then she started coughing heavily, finally spitting up a small plume of flames. Smoke poured out of her ears, and she looked dazed. Then she grinned enthusiastically.

"Did you see?! I breathed fire!", she cried.

"Move determined.", I stated, "Low power Ember."

"I still used Ember!", she replied, "Man, I really can't wait to show Jacob! I wonder how he's doing, by the way..."

"Status unknown.", I commented, "But I'm sure he's fine."

Miss Melody floated over, and clapped at our progress. "You guys are doing great! We'll be able to start our quest in no time!"

"Yay!", cheered Mia, "Saving the world is going to be lots of fun!"

"That's the spirit!", replied Miss Melody, "I'll check on you again later. Keep practicing, I don't particularly think Vernon's battles were the best way of approaching this."

As soon as she left, Mia said, "Let's keep at it! I'll be roasting marshmallows with my breath in no time!" (-o-)

Darkrai's POV

It was dark here. It always was.

I was surrounded in mist and darkness, the whispers of ghosts whirling around me. I floated up an ancient pair of stone steps, arriving at a very special table.

It was sitting in the center of a broken circular building, jagged cliifs looming above. The table was made of an unnatural blue metal, one that had no parallel in any of the known dimensions. It was Precursor tech, perhaps one of the most valuable artifacts ever discovered.

For you see, its surface was a map. A map of this particular sector of the multiverse, and potentially even more sectors, if we ever figured out how to use it. Glowing blue runes flickered across its surface, and I curiously touched one, relishing in the hum of the ancient magic that powered it.

A dark shadow loomed above me, and I looked up at a colossal silhouette of an ancient dragon, glowing red eyes the only color on her entire being. Yes, it's a her. People would probably complain if all the main villains were male.

"Giratina.", I said, "You seem somewhat more solid today."

"Save your remarks.", she boomed, her cold ancient voice echoing through the darkness, "Do you know where Yveltal is?"

"Finishing up destroying that one World Bank realm, I believe.", I answered, "We should have a good supply of all our favorite items arriving soon. Evolution stones, magical weapons for our little army, those really tasty donuts from that one celestial bakery. Even a roll of infinite toilet paper, if I'm not mistaken, one that's always facing the right direction."

Giratina nodded approvingly. "Excellent. Speaking of our 'little army', how are they faring?"

I replied, "They are currently training in one of the Forgotten Court realms, close to the one where Mew is training her own army. I left Penumbra in charge."

Giratina stated, "An excellent choice. Ah, Yveltal is returning now."

A red light appeared in the gloom, as a massive Y-shaped bird appeared, flying our way. He perched on a nearby rock, and screeched, "You summoned us, correct?"

Giratina nodded. "Indeed.", she said, "Things are proceeding as planned. Project Mystery Dungeon is currently a success. We outnumber Mew's little band considerably. As for the rest of our mission...my influence quietly grows, helped greatly by you, Darkrai."

If I had a visible mouth, I would most likely be grinning.

"Not to say, of course, that you are not doing your part, Yveltal. Your many attacks confuse and scatter the Guardians, as they struggle to find out where we will attack next. I can sense the chaos forming...it is wondrous.", Giratina continued.

"What is our next move?", I asked.

Giratina gestured at the map. "First, we will attempt to eradicate Mew's army. Without those children of the prophecy, they will be helpless, assuming that defeat is automatic if a prophecy doesn't go right. Their narrow-mindedness is amusing, and it is a surprise that they haven't fallen already."

I nodded. "Of course, I will launch an attack tomorrow. But what else shall we do?"

Giratina answered, "Whether or not the attack is a success, we will attempt to breach the first vault. I believe I have finally tracked it down. After that, we will use the clues within to find the other vaults and open the secret door, the door to our inevitable victory."

I cackled sinisterly. "Oh, this is working fantastically. I can't wait to get to the end of this plot and claim our prize."

Yveltal agreed, "It has been too long since we've won something big. I am quite excited as well."

"Don't get too foolhardy.", Giratina warned, "It is too easy for it to bring about our downfall."

We both nodded. Giratina said, "Now, let us get started. Time is of the essence, and worlds don't rebuild themselves." (-o-)

AN: Sorry if this chapter was short, it was basically filler. More plot advancement coming up soon! Until next time, happy Pokemon hunting!
