New characters submitted since last chapter:
Kayla Shultz (submitted by a guest) (Houndour)
For future reference no one is forced to make a Shiny or Legendary character, the only reason I post the number of slots for them is because there's a specific limit.
There are only ten slots in general left! They can be any Pokemon that isn't already taken and complies with the rules.
As for completely random other news, I started a role-playing forum! It's called Pokemon Isekai RP. If you want to join, you're welcome to it! (Although it's hidden at the end of the list because it has 0 posts currently, sad face.)
Now, let us begin the chapter!
Sherlock's POV
I sat in the front of a black helicopter, fiddling with some of the gadgets I had brung while I waited to arrive at my destination. The pilot sat silently besides me, his identity hidden underneath a black helmet and combat suit.
I heard a soft crackling coming from underneath my coat. I slipped out what looked like a fancy walkie-talkie, but was actually an energy reader. Currently blue lights were flashing on it, as the crackling noise grew louder.
"Interdimensional activity.", I muttered, "Seems our prey is trying to flee."
The pilot did not pay me any attention.
"Oh well.", I continued, slipping the tracker back into my elaborate coat, "They won't get very far."
The helicopter started hovering down for a landing. I noticed smoke rising in front of the windshield, and frowned.
Once the helicopter had landed, I hopped out, and was greeted with ruins.
It seemed that there had been a camp here, but it was burned down. The tracker was crackling quite noisily, and when I checked it again, black lights had joined the blue ones.
"The Dark Three.", I grumbled, "Of course."
I tapped a screen on the tracker, and pulled up a drop-down menu. Scrolling past World Catastrophes and Obviously Haunted Mansions and Remarkable Pastries, I found the option Kids of A Prophecy, and selected it.
A map appeared, revealing that there appeared to be two groups in two parallel versions of the Forgotten Court. Well, that made things interesting.
I spotted the energy signatures of three Guardians in one of the two versions, and smiled slyly. There was my target.
I slipped out a strange key, one of the few Precursor relics we had obtained, and rose it into the air. I thought about the version of the Forgotten Court I wanted to visit, and then turned the key.
A portal opened up, and I effortlessly stepped through. (-o-)
Mia's POV
After a few hours of training, everybody was taking a break. I was sitting on the ground, testing how big I could make my Ember.
I had gotten good at it fast, which was super awesome. I could shoot one halfway across the court. However, if I made it any bigger than a baseball, I would lose concentration and it would fizzle out. If I was going to fight with it, though, it was going to need to be bigger.
Okay, maybe not need. It worked quite well as it was and I'd never seen any super-sized Embers in Pokemon. But I wanted it to be super big anyways.
As I took a deep breath and began focusing my fire energy, I noticed Hoopa take off one of his rings and wave it. Immediately Kipper ran over, followed by another friendly golden retriever named Arcanine. I thought it was a really neat name for a dog, and this one certainly was as fluffy as the Pokemon. He belonged to a girl named Kayla.
Hoopa started moving the ring back and forth, then threw it like a Frisbee. The two dogs immediately chased after it, barking excitedly. Then the ring stopped in the air, and a portal opened up in it. As the dogs leapt up to grab it, a huge torrent of seawater dumped on top of them, along with a few startled Magikarp.
Hoopa snickered as the ring flew back to him, and the two dogs glared. Hoopa was promptly Paralyzed and did not look happy about it.
A small fireball was forming in front of my muzzle, ready to be launched. But it was not big enough yet.
At another side of the court, Vernon was refereeing a game of soccer. Barry and Nicholas were on one side, Sara and Eddie were on the other. Sara was doing her very best to avoid the eccentric Shinx, which seemed to be taking its toll on her points. Nicholas cheered as Barry kicked a certain Sandshrew into the goal. The goals were two simple baskets, but they worked just fine. The only problem was that they kept flipping upright whenever a ball was scored.
Steven climbed out of Sara's basket, and rolled his way back to the middle of their field. Vernon called for a break, and the five players went to get a drink of water.
I growled in frustration as my Ember dissipated. Sighing, I started summoning another one, hoping that it would get at least a little bit bigger.
I noticed Gavin holding a pen in his mouth and trying to write in one of his notebooks without accidentally clawing it. Nearby Lulu wrote away effortlessly, her Riolu paws serving just as well as hands. Jack was also attempting to write without hands, and Gavin gave him a sympathetic glance.
My ears twitched and swiveled involuntarily as I heard the sounds of Wendell's band warming up. Wendell's new squeaky voice caused me to giggle slightly, causing my current Ember to dissipate again.
I noticed Kayla nearby. She was now a Houndour, with heart-shapes in her fur. It made a normally spooky Pokemon look cute. Fiona was showing her some of the martial arts she had perfected, and Kayla was trying to practice them.
I watched my latest Ember grow. Right as it was approaching a decent size, though, I heard a panicked shout from Joel.
The boy turned Shaymin scurried by, and I noticed someone step out from the shadows behind him. A strange rod was in their hand, and I noticed they were dressed similarly to Looker, with his long brown coat.
They were also wearing a fedora and tie, for some reason.
As they stepped out to the center of the court, I noticed that they were a young man who could hardly be older than nineteen. Who was this guy?
"Where is Mew?", he asked, slipping on an odd silver gauntlet.
Miss Melody stood up, glaring at him. "Who are you and how did you get here?"
The boy smiled, replying, "The name's Bond. Sherlock Bond. I work for the Federal Supernatural and Interdimensional Containment Bureau, FSICB for short. And you, my dear, have finally overstepped your boundaries."
Miss Melody tensed, readying herself for combat. Vernon and Hoopa also readied themselves, and Sherlock smirked.
"I knew you wouldn't come quietly.", he stated.
He shot a look at every kid in the room. "Don't try anything funny.", he warned, "I know you're kids of a prophecy. As much as I'd like to keep you all alive, any attacks on me will lead to harsh retaliation. Stay out of this, and I will take you to headquarters so you can assist the country and help us save our universe. Mew seeks to control your destiny, but the United States cannot allow her to do so."
Janet flew in front of him, growling, "What you're actually trying to say is that the United States is trying to control us instead. The only thing that will convince me to stay out of the way is if you have a way to turn me back into a human."
Sherlock did not look pleased. "We can find a way to arrange that."
Janet replied, "That's not a guarantee. I trust Miss Melody knows what she's doing. I do not trust you."
Everyone else chimed in with their agreements. Sherlock's face turned red. "You are all making a mistake.", he said, and flipped a hidden switch inside his gauntlet. "I can fight all of you!"
I released my Ember and fired it at his coat. It exploded against his side and nearly made him lose his balance, but none of the flames ignited his outfit.
He growled, "Did you really think I did not have any precautions against flames? I've been dealing with supernatural threats for years!"
He pulled a dart out of his coat, and threw it at Miss Melody. It expanded into a net that entangled her and pinned her down. In a flash of light, she turned herself into a Cutiefly and flew out of a hole in the net, then promptly turned into a Gyarados.
Fiona appeared and drove a paw right into Sherlock's throat, causing him to stumble back. Fiona did a little twirl as she fell, and landed gracefully on her feet. Kayla charged from behind and rammed him, but this time Sherlock kept his footing. His gauntlet glowed, and he fired off a pulse of energy that blasted the two Pokemon away.
I growled and started generating another Ember. Kai charged past me and fired off a Thunder Shock at the gauntlet, but it did not have any effect. Sherlock dodged as Vernon threw himself at him, and ducked under a Shadow Ball from Hoopa. Nicholas charged and fired an Ember of his own, but it once again had little effect.
Gavin used Quick Attack and grabbed onto the gauntlet, struggling to yank it off. Sherlock frowned and threw him across the court, where he crashed against a pillar and fell to the ground, unconscious.
Brianna looked furious. "Only I get to mess with my brother!", she shouted, and suddenly she was enveloped in flames.
As everyone stared, she slid across the floor at high speeds and knocked Sherlock off his feet.
This attack was quickly followed up by an angry Lulu using Power-Up Punch.
I noticed Brianna slide to a stop, and turned to go again. I remembered playing Let's Go Eevee and using some circus-looking guy to teach my Eevee special moves, one of which was a fiery slide. Brianna must have just used it somehow!
Sherlock stood up and brushed himself off, proceeding to throw several more of the net darts. These ones were glowing, and when one of them hit Miss Melody, it forced her into her Mew form. She struggled, but it appeared to have disabled her powers.
Barry reacted quickly, scurrying over and using his claws to try cutting the net. But the threads were quite strong, and he wasn't making much progress.
Sherlock began charging up a large orb of energy above his gauntlet. It didn't take a Pokemon genius to recognize the attack he was going to use.
"Run! It's a Hyper Beam!", shouted Peter, the gamer Eevee.
Many of us scattered, and Sherlock grinned as he aimed the Hyper Beam at Miss Melody and Barry.
I did not want to let them get hit, so I charged and tackled Sherlock. He stumbled over, and the Hyper Beam fired off into the side of the court, causing one of the walls to collapse.
It was about that time when a large dark portal opened up.
A Shiny Umbreon strode out, and ordered, "Seize them. Preferably alive."
Appearing behind her was an army of Pokemon, all of them ready for battle.
Sherlock muttered, "A minor miscalculation..." (-o-)
AN: And we're ending this chapter here! Apologies for the cliffhanger...not really. I love writing them for some odd reason. Next chapter comes a dimensional shift!
