"Mōri-san, do you have any siblings?" Shizuka asked as she walked with Rani on the Tokyo sidewalk towards Mōri Tantei Jimusho.
"No. I'm the only child", Ran said.
"You too? How would you feel if you had siblings?" Shizuka asked.
"That would be fun to think about", Ran said.
Surprisingly, Kogorō ran out of his home:
"I have to go!"
Ran's father was wearing a blue jacket with a white blouse underneath and a black tie around his neck. He had blue pants on his feet, and black shoes.
"Again, a game night with your friends?!" Ran shouted at his father.
"No. I got an assignment. A little man in black clothes has kidnapped a little girl!" Kogorō shouted.
"A man wearing black clothes?! It could be that this case has nothing to do with the men I'm currently looking for, but better check it out for yourself!" Shizuka sat with Ran and Kogorō in a nearby taxi, the driver of which Kogorō gave directions to their destination.
"Who is that girl?" Kogorō asked after seeing Shizuka.
"She's Miyamizu Irene. She's the niece of Agasa Hook. She came here to study in high school", Ran said.
"Yes. I'm going to become a detective, but I still have a lot to learn. Could I act as your assistant to learn how a real detective works?" Shizuka asked.
"My assistant? Well, if you want to be my assistant, take a close look at the job seeker of the master!" Kogorō said.
"Yes, Mōri-san," Shizuka said.
Eventually the taxi stopped in front of the big house.
Kogorō, and the girls got off the taxi ride.
In front of the house stood the master of the house, the butler, and the maids.
The host of the house was wearing a brown jacket with a white blouse underneath. He had brown hair on his legs, and black shoes. His skin was tanned, and his hair and mustache were black. He had a black tie around his neck. He was tall, and athletic. He looked over 30 years old.
The maids wore kimonos.
The butler wore black and white clothes, and his hair and mustache were gray. There were glasses in front of his eyes. he looked over 80 years old.
"Evening, Tani-san. I am Mōri Kogorō. Who has been abducted?" Kogorō asked.
"My daughter Tani Akiko. According to the butler's statement, he was playing in the front yard of this house when he was unexpectedly abducted. Based on the maid's statement, the butler cried out in horror, and the service staff ran to the scene after the abductor disappeared", The man said. "The maids told me the butler was screaming in horror when he saw the kidnapper".
"Pretty big house. We'll even see watch dogs over there. Is that that kidnapped girl's ball?" Shizuka thought after seeing a pink ball on the ground.
Gauh ghau! The dogs started barking.
"Do those dogs bark every time strangers come here?" Shizuka asked.
"Of course. My dogs are the guard dog elite", The House host said.
"What?! Dogs?! So of course. When there is such a big house, at least one or two watch dogs are needed", Kogorō said after understanding the situation.
"There's something suspicious about this situation! The host of the house didn't mention the barking of the watch dogs when they saw the kidnapper abducting the girl we were looking for, and the butler seems to be trying to escape the scene. Does he know anything about the abduction?" Shizuka pondered the matter.
"The master of the house did not mention the dogs barking when they saw the girl abducting the abductor, and the maids mentioned that they had only heard your cries, wasn't that Mr. Butler, or should I say Mr. Abductor?" Kogorō asked after noticing that the butler was trying to escape the scene.
"Did you kidnap my daughter? Didn't I pay you enough when you kidnapped my daughter once?!" The host of the house asked.
"It's not like that. Your daughter is safe!" The butler shouted.
"I hope you're telling the truth!" The host of the house shouted.
"Sorry, but we just got a call where someone says they kidnapped your daughter!" One maid shouted while running to the scene.
"What?!" The host of the house shouted.
"He demands a ransom at some point!" The maid shouted.
"Sorry, Mōri-san. Based on what I have heard, the dogs have an excellent sense of smell. Perhaps we could use it to our advantage to save the kidnapped girl", Shizuka suggested after seeing a ball of a kidnapped kidnapped by a Danish dog.
"Sure, but can you handle the dogs?" Kogorō asked.
"Yes", Shizuka said. He picked up the ball next to him, and showed it to the dog brought in front of him.
Shizuka grabbed the dog's leash, and left the house with the dog:

The dog led Shizuka to the warehouse, the door of which Shizuka pushed open to see the man in dark clothes holding a knife in his hand, and the abducted girl sitting in the corner. A brown rope was tied around him.
The girl was about 10 years old. The girl was wearing a pink jacket, white shorts on her legs, and pink shoes. He was skinny. His skin was pale and his eyes were blue. Her hair was brown and had been combed into a tail-like hairstyle.
Shizuka grabbed the iron rod he found on the ground in self-defense, and then let the dog attack the man.
"Jumbo!" The girl shouted, sounding joyful.
Gragh! Dog biting man.
"Aaaah!" The man shouted in pain.
Shizuka struck the man's right hand with an iron bar, where the man was holding a knife, dropping the knife to the ground. Klak!
"Who are you?!" The girl asked Shizuka.
"Miyamizu Irene, detective!" Shizuka said.
"Damnable!" The man prepared to get up on his feet, but Ran ran to the scene, attacking the man. Eventually, Ran had muzzled the man in such bad shape that the man fell to the floor.
"Great, Mōri-san", Shizuka dropped the iron bar on the floor, and detached the ropes tied around the girl, dropping them on the floor as well.
"Thank you, but call me Ran", Ran said.
"Okay. I know karate myself after learning the karate moves I've seen on TV", Shizuka said.
"Are you okay, Akiko?" The Akiko's father asked to his daughter.
"Yes", Akiko said.
"Your accomplice was caught seeing", Akiko's father told the butler.
"Am I supposed to look like his accomplice?! The girl ate cake, and drank cocoa at the hotel when I found her!" The thief said when police took him out of the warehouse.
"True, dad! I kidnapped myself! After my mother died you barely noticed me. I asked the butler to help me implement this plan. I thought that by taking some time off work you would have time for me again", Akiko said.
"All right. I'll give you more time after tomorrow's meeting, because we'll go on a trip after that"," Akiko's father said. Then he looked at Kogorō:
"Mōri-san, you have found a good helper. His invention of using dogs to find my daughter was ingenious. Jumbo, and my daughters have been inseparable from an early age".
"Thank you, but Mōri-san has good judgment when he gave me permission to try out my plan", Shizuka said.
"Yes. Thank you", Kogorō smiled.
Everyone left the warehouse.
"Thank you, detective", Akiko told Shizuka.
"Detective?" Ran asked Shzuka.
"He thanked the genius of your father because I'm kind of just a detective trainee", Shizuka said.
"So of course", Kogorō said.
"Could Irene-chan live with us for a while?" Ran asked.
"The girl seems to bring happiness, so fit", Kogorō said.
