AN: Sorry it took me a while to get this written out, I recently got Pokemon Legends: Arceus and that has been occupying much of my free time.

This chapter, we'll be returning to the Genesis Project! If you need a refresher, look back at Chapter 9.

Now, let's get this chapter started! (-o-)

Seria's POV

I sat in a dark cell, blocked off from the world by hundreds of defense systems. Worst of all, I wasn't even human any more.

No, I was this thing called a "Mewtwo".

The scientists kept a close eye on me, waiting for my resolve to break. Every night, they would come in and try to convince me to go with them and test my powers. Every time, I would refuse them. Then they'd leave, whispering that eventually, somehow, I would crack.

They did not realize that my powers were already manifesting.

My mind was far stronger than it had been before, and now had excess psychic energies. I could bend the minds of anyone. I could use strange powers that took form in this thing called "attacks" and destroy everyone. My body was humanoid enough that I could use it as fluidly as my original one.

With the added bonus of extra strength and agility.

And so I planned my escape. No one was ever the wiser that their subject was far far stronger than they had anticipated. Every night, I'd put on the facade that I was growing weaker in solitude, that I'd give in any day now. But it was only a facade, and they would loath the day when I showed them the demon behind it.

They had made their own worst enemy.

As I sat there I extended my mind, and sensed that there were more suffering souls around me. I knew that when I escaped, they were going to come with me, and together we would tear the Genesis Corps to the ground. Where we would go after that, I did not know.

But I would not let that stop me. Not in fifteen billion years.

One night, I finally made my move.

As the men opened the doors and deactivated the defenses, I stood there waiting for them. The first one came in, and behind his helmet I sensed his smile as he asked, "So, you're finally ready to come with us?"

With false desperation, I replied, "Yes...yes, I am."

"Good." The man grabbed a pair of handcuffs and strapped them onto me (ha, as if that would stop my brain), then said, "Let's get out of this cell, it stinks in here."

Indeed it does, I thought smugly, I hope you will enjoy your stay.

As soon as he led me out and rejoined his four buddies, I made my move. Suddenly the five soldiers found themselves hovering in the air, a strange force binding their every limb.

"Wha-hey! You can't do this to us!", shouted the men.

I smiled mockingly. "Really? This is the least I can do. Count yourself lucky that I don't have as much of a grudge with you as I do everyone else in this forsaken facility."

Then I threw them into my old cell and used my powers to irreversibly seal it.

"Now then...what to do next?", I mused, "Right, free everybody else."

Then I started hearing alarms blaring. Furiously, I sent out a psychic shock that shattered the speakers and left only the flashing red lights.

"Let's do this quickly.", I muttered, and summoned more of my power to the surface.

Around me, the cell doors cracked and strained as I attempted to rip them off. They were pneumatically sealed, but I was not going to let that stop me. I reached out and tore open the steam pipes, causing a loud hiss from across the facility and steam to start billowing everywhere. Then I tore the doors out of their sockets and threw them in a battered heap in front of my old cell.

The first one to come out of the broken doors was a small, plant-like creature that looked somewhat like a little girl.

When it spoke, it also sounded like a little girl. "Um...hi. Are you rescuing us?"

I nodded. "Naturally."

Out of the other cells came four more people. They included a large ice-covered dragon creature, with strange black mechanical parts attached to him; a black bird blazing with unnatural eerie flames; a tiny yellow mouse with black-tipped ears and red cheeks, with one ear styled like spikes; and lastly, a large owl creature hiding under a cloak.

"Hi, uh, fellow prisoners.", I said, "My name is Seria, and I'm trying to get us out of here."

"Hi Seria.", replied the small plant creature, "My name is Ilya. They took my brother Dmitri somewhere, and I'd like to find him."

The ice dragon groaned, in a teenage boy's voice tinged with deep sadness, "My name was...Kyle. I think. I've been trapped here so long..."

I snarled to myself. What had the Genesis Corps done to this guy!? They were going to suffer soooooo much...

The yellow mouse said, "I'm Spiky-Eared Pichu. I remember something that looked like you a long time ago, but you're definitely different. Thank you for saving us!"

The owl said in the voice of an old man, "My name is Robin Wood. I have a plan, if you are interested."

"Go on.", I replied, curious.

The owl coughed into his wing for a moment before saying, "I am from a secret group known as the Wanderers. If we can find the dimensional teleporters these men have, I can take us to our base. I believe that would be our best shot at staying alive."

"Who are these 'Wanderers'?", I asked.

Just then we heard some shouts. "There they are! Stop them!"

"No time to explain!", shouted Robin, "We cannot be captured again! I will not allow it!"

As several purple-armored soldiers veered into the hallway, Robin raised his wings and, as if he were some handsome ridiculously skilled elf archer from some movie, fired several feathers as if they were arrows and knocked out every single one of the men.

"What!? How did you do that!?", exclaimed Spiky-Eared Pichu.

Robin replied, "Lots of practice. Now, let's get moving!"

Before we started moving, though, I used my powers to lift up the men and throw them into the wall, ensuring that they wouldn't get up and follow us.

"Ouch, you really hate them, don't you?", commented Ilya.

I did not respond, instead taking off running down the hallway. Everybody followed, but Ilya seemed to have trouble, for she was only able to hop.

Kyle helped her out though, by scooping her up in his arms and following us. Ilya seemed uncomfortable, possibly because one of his arms was cybernetic.

Soon we reached a large collection of stairs, with a sign showing where they all led to.

Prison Cells: Behind You

Certain Death: The Thirteenth Door Upstairs

Mess Hall (For Eating): Left

Mess Hall (For Messes): Your Other Left

Laboratory of Super-Evil Experiments: Right is The Right Way!

Barracks: Your Other Right

Bathrooms: They're Everywhere Except When You Need Them

Interdimensional Teleporters: Downstairs (Like, In The Basement's Basement)

Heaven: Way Way Upstairs

Hell: You Are Here!

Robin said, "Oh good, teleporters are downstairs. Let's hurry, before they find us!"

We started hurrying downstairs, but then we noticed soldiers charging up at us.

And behind us. And across the other stairs. And even pulling a heist maneuver and lowering themselves down with grappling hooks.

Kyle hissed, dropping Ilya. Right as they were about to reach us, a flashing red light appeared on his head, and with a loud hiss, tanks on his back opened up and dropped the temperature of the room by many, many degrees.

Everything was immediately covered in ice, including the guards. For a second, I wondered why we hadn't been frozen, but then I noticed a forcefield blocking us from the ice tanks.

Kyle groaned, "I vented my excess ice energy, but it will take me some time before it replenishes. I suggest that we hurry."

Nobody argued, and we hurried our way down stairs. Down, down, down, impossibly far down. Finally we reached a locked door covered in hundreds of hazard signs and words that said "Keep Out-Private", in hundreds of languages.

However, there was still a key card in the door.

"Oh good, this is easy!", cheered Ilya.

Suddenly there was a bang, and the hallway filled with smoke.

Coughing, I noticed three figures emerge in front of us. Then they began to speak.

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all people within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

The smoke cleared, revealing two people in white suits emblazoned with a big red R. One was a woman with ridiculously long red hair, while the other was a guy with spiky blue hair. Standing in between them was a beige cat, standing on its hind legs and with a gold coin between its ears.

"Jessie!", exclaimed the woman, pointing at herself.

"James.", added the man, spinning around a rose in his fingers.

"Meowth, that's right!", cheered the cat.

"Taking off at dawn's first light!", continued Jessie.

"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!", added James.

"Give us that Pikachu!", shouted Meowth.

"Excuse me, I'm a Pichu, not a Pikachu!", exclaimed Spiky-Eared Pichu indignantly.

"Close enough!", snapped Meowth.

"We don't have time for this.", grumbled Robin, and he shot them away with several feather arrows.

However, these guys were not knocked out like the guards. They twirled around, and I immediately used the key card to open the door. We hurried past the strange people and entered the room, where a giant mechanical monstrosity awaited.

It resembled a portal, surrounded by unnecessary pipes and computers running error codes. In the center, typing furiously away, was Dr. X.

He looked up, and cackled. "Hello, experiments. I'm afraid you're out of-"

I didn't let him finish his monologue, and used my powers to throw him into the machine. It immediately whirled to life, and a computer voice said, "Beginning self-destruct sequence. Please state your destination and/or final words."

Dr. X cried, "You see what you've done!? I haven't finished reprogramming it!"

Jessie and James charged in. "Don't you dare forget about us!", they shrieked, "We're the bad guys here!"

Robin ignored them, shouting, "Computer! Take us to Sector 151 42 3.14 random string of numbers!"

"Obliged.", replied the computer, and a portal opened up. "Thirty seconds to self-destruct. Please refer to me as Alexa. I will be returning to this story later."

None of us paid any attention, and charged into the portal, wondering just where it would take us. (-o-)

AN: Now you know why Kantonian Meowth is on the taken characters list. That wraps up this chapter, apologies again for the delay, and as always, happy Pokemon hunting!
