Homestuck12: Double Zamazenta was an accident but not a typo. So, in that final Forgotten Court chapter I introduced a Dark Three Zamazenta to counter Zola, but forgot about him. Then when Rescue Wolf submitted their characters, one of them was a Zamazenta and I thought it would be the only one in the story. By the time I remembered the first one, it was way too late to change things so we're just rolling with it now.
Victor John Foxfire: Have you seen the guards in Pokemon Legends: Arceus yet? No weapons at all. Since this is a "faithful representation", neither do the ones here! Don't worry, in a few chapters I'll show you how they defend the town without weapons.
Rescue Wolf: There is an explanation for why people understand them now, but I won't elaborate until later...
Remember, non-spoilery questions are perfectly acceptable and encouraged!
Now, without much further ado about nothing, let's begin this chapter. (-o-)
Anthony's POV
Everyone sleeping in the same small group of sheds went about as well as you'd expect.
The teachers divided us into two groups, boys and girls, and sent us to different sheds. We each tried to claim as much space as possible, and then tried to settle down. But there was nothing but old tools and crates lying around.
Kai was the first one to state the obvious. "Well, this sucks."
Randa rotated his gears. "Well, I float all the time now, so it doesn't bother me. Imma go to sleep now."
He closed his eyes and started making loud snore-type noises.
"Thunder Shock!", yelled Kai.
Randa was electrocuted within an inch of his life and became a black-colored Klink.
"Ouch.", he groaned, before fainting and clattering to the floor in a heap.
"Who wants him as a pillow? Probably the most comfortable thing in here.", asked Kai, looking around.
"Urgh, no thanks.", replied Gavin.
Zeke agreed, "Yeah. I don't think he even wears underwear."
Everyone immediately cleared six feet away from the unconscious Klink, which did not help our space problem.
"Query: how do you know this?", asked Matthew.
Zeke replied, "Eh, I found his clothes bag open. Shirts, pants, socks...but no boxers or anything."
Jack stated, "I don't even want to ask why you decided to look through it."
"Well, he made a rude comment about Rei one time, so we're sworn enemies. He just doesn't realize it.", Zeke answered.
"Sounds reasonable to me.", Peter stated, "Now, if you all would like to watch, I'm gonna play Super Mario 3D World for a bit."
"On that tiny screen? Not a chance.", replied Will, "I think I'm gonna practice howling a bit more, since it's apparently a buffing ability."
"Please don't.", requested Joel, "We don't need the locals to be even more uncomfortable with us."
"Not like that'll change anything about their perspective of you.", commented Kai, "You're an adorable grass hedgehog. The very definition of innocence."
Matthew interjected, "Correction: Shaymin is the Gratitude Pokemon. It represents gratitude. Not innocence."
Kai's eye twitched. "I stand corrected."
Hunter, meanwhile, was scratching behind Lucky's ears, while Ace was settling down behind him. "Well I'm going to enjoy this cuddle party with my pets. Will, you're invited."
"Do you know how weird that is, seeing as you're practically a dog yourself?", asked Gavin.
Hunter shook his head. "Not in the slightest! By the way, you're not invited."
Gavin replied, "I thought as much."
Eddie, meanwhile, was making a ruckus as he dug through the tools and crates. He was spouting an incoherent list of random ideas, parts, and statistics. Eddie was many things, an inventor among them.
After a few minutes, though, it was getting annoying. I wished that I still had my earbuds, but those had been lost in the magic school of doom. But I knew there were worse things to worry about.
It was still depressing though.
As we all sat around and tried to get comfortable, Mr. Vernon suddenly fell over for no reason. We all jumped to attention, when the doors flew open to reveal Seria the strange Mewtwo and her frost cyborg friend Kyle.
"Alright, Hoopa, Kyle and I would like some answers. There's a lot going on here. What's with the helmet thing? Who are you really? What are we all trying to do here?", she demanded.
Hoopa glanced at Mr. Vernon.
"He's completely knocked out, by the way.", Seria said, "He's not waking up until this conversation is over."
"And what about Mew?", asked Hoopa.
Seria smirked. "That one...Zorua, I think it was? She told me that Mewtwo is more powerful than Mew, so the silencing psychic barriers I have established should keep her from hearing any of this."
Hoopa sighed. "Hoopa guesses there's no reason for Hoopa to hide secrets anymore. Hoopa does not believe the Guardians are much better than the Dark Three. But that was not always so."
I was listening curiously, wondering what he was going to say.
"Once, Hoopa was also a Guardian.", Hoopa continued, "Hoopa would help transport the Guardians to where they needed to go. Hoopa liked helping out, as well as all the free donuts. But Hoopa was also curious, and not much of a rule-follower. One time, Hoopa decided to go exploring. And Hoopa found something Hoopa was not meant to find."
"What was it?", asked Eddie, "Do you still have it?"
Hoopa shook his head. "Hoopa found a ruin, one known as the Sealed Gates. It was a Precursor ruin, one of the largest and most well-preserved. Perhaps you all remember the Forgotten Court. Well, that was nothing compared to what Hoopa saw there. But it was hidden away in a distant pocket dimension for a reason. Arceus was not pleased to learn that Hoopa found it, and told Hoopa never to go there or try to learn anything more about it again. But Hoopa didn't think that was a sensible rule, so Hoopa went back..."
"Let me guess.", commented Gavin, "He caught you."
Zeke said, "Pretty stupid of you to do that. Isn't Arceus like the Pokemon version of God? How could you possibly hide breaking his rules from him?"
"Hoopa got away with it for a few months.", Hoopa replied indignantly, "And Hoopa learned many dark secrets. Secrets Arceus wants to hide."
Kai looked curious. "Ooh, like what?"
Hoopa replied, "Plot prevents Hoopa from telling you at this time. But know that Arceus is not any better than Giratina, just on the opposite spectrum. He seeks endless order instead of chaos. He seeks to close off all the realms and use the Guardians to keep everything under control. This cannot come to pass, any more than Giratina's plan should be allowed to succeed."
"So what do you expect us to do?", I asked, "We've been dragged into this on Arceus's side, and we can't exactly back out now."
Hoopa frowned. "That is indeed troubling, but Hoopa has been planning for quite some time. We will try to gather the keys and prevent Giratina or Arceus from obtaining them. There is one in this realm somewhere, and Hoopa believes that your position as the children of prophecy will cause you to stumble right on top of it."
"What are these keys anyway? And what is this prophecy that keeps getting mentioned?", asked Jack.
Hoopa shivered.
"The five keys open a door in the Sealed Gates, a door the Precursors closed a long time ago for a good reason. As for the prophecy...you do not want to know. Not yet."
We all gave him confused glances.
"Trust me.", he pleaded.
Seria nodded slightly. "I believe I understand.", she said, "I will share the information you have given us with the others, and I will make sure none of the Guardians learn of it."
"Make sure of that.", Hoopa replied, "They are good people, but they are too loyal to Arceus. Even if they learned his motives Hoopa doubts they would turn to our side. We must keep this quiet."
We all nodded, all secretly wondering just what the heck of a mess we'd gotten ourselves into...(-o-)
No POV
All was quiet near the distant Lake Verity, when suddenly there was a purple rift cut through the air.
Stepping out was a squadron of futuristic soldiers, followed by a familiar scientist in a metal mask, riding inside a super-awesome mech suit.
"They will soon learn not to mess with the Genesis Corps.", he growled in his distorted voice, "I will ensure of it!"
A few Bidoof squeaked in terror and ran off, while he cackled maniacally long into the night. (-o-)
Elsewhere that same night...
A young man in an orange-and-white tunic and fabulous blond hair stood at the top of Mount Coronet, studying the strange ghostly gray plate in his hands.
"Why have you chosen me for this?", he asked.
Ahead of him was a swirling rift, inside of which a pair of glowing red eyes watched him.
"You know the land. You are more likely to succeed than anyone, and we share the same goal. There is a team of Pokemon in the village. Befriend them, track their movements, and assist me as I regain my strength. Arceus must be stopped, and soon I will have obtained enough of my former power to challenge him.", the creature in the rift said, "Already my plans are in motion. The readers are supposed to believe that Project Mystery Dungeon is a work in progress, the transformed students still training. But it is more powerful than anyone will believe, and with it, reality will be rewritten the way it should be."
"I am at your service, Queen Giratina.", the man said, "Do not fear, I will help you fight these foes, and find this key."
He then turned away, and started hiking down the mountain, whistling cheerfully. (-o-)
AN: Another filler chapter, but hopefully quite an interesting one. Our heroes are in trouble aren't they? Their two enemies are making their move, and now they can't even trust their own allies! What will result from this? Find out next chapter!
Happy Pokemon hunting as always!
