Also, why does everyone think Ingo is the next key? Is it because he got thrown through time? That has nothing to do with it I'm afraid. No, someone else has the key. But who, you'll just have to wait and see.

Brianna's POV
After a rather miserable night in the shed, we awoke to the morning light shining through the boards that held the building together.
Thankfully, Rei's tail and Fiona's natural body heat had kept us nice and toasty, otherwise we would've been freezing as well as uncomfortable and cramped.
Not to mention the story Seria had telepathically communicated to us about how we couldn't actually trust the Guardians either.
That had taken many of us by surprise, myself included. Miss Melody and Mr. Vernon seemed to care about us, though. I kept telling myself that if worse came to worse, they would be on our side.
But then again, would they turn against their god?
I shook my head, which probably, quite infuriatingly, looked cute. It would not do to worry about such things. After all, it was rather unlikely, and worrying only made things worse.
We all started making our way outside, where the guys were also starting to come out. It was a beautiful day today, although the effect was somewhat ruined by all the people giving us nervous glances and staying at least twenty feet of space away from us.
Although I appreciated the realism here, it was still rather strange that these people were actually scared of Pokemon. It was going to take an awful lot of effort here to get them to even trust us enough to get closer.
Well, maybe completing Cyllene's trial would help.
"Alright, students, let's hurry over to Galaxy Hall and get this trial taken care of!", cheered Miss Melody, "I hope you all got plenty of sleep, cause we're probably going to need it!"
We all glanced at each other with tired eyes. No one had gotten much sleep in the slightest.
The optimistic Mew donned her human form and started walking down the street. We followed her, curious to what was going to happen now.
In front of Galaxy Hall, we noticed Professor Laventon chatting to two teenagers, wearing matching blue uniforms with the Galaxy Team logo on them. One was a boy with a familiar-looking red cap, while the other was a girl whose long black hair she'd tied behind a white bandana.
Laventon saw us, and jumped. "Yikes! You're all awake already?"
The two kids looked at us curiously.
Laventon, after overcoming his prior shock, said, "Well, uh, hello. These two are my fellow researchers, Rei and Akari."
"Hi there.", greeted Rei timidly.
Akari smiled. "Hello."
Zeke strode over to the boy and loomed over him.
"How come your name is the same as my sister's?", he asked.
Rei stared nervously up at the big black dragon. "Uh, I dunno. A coincidence?"
Zeke replied, "Hmph. Well, because this is going to be confusing in the future otherwise, I am officially renaming you to Bob."
"Wait, what?", asked Rei/Bob, but Zeke simply strolled back to the group.
Rei the Reshiram gave Zeke a strange look, but he simply said, "I'm keeping your name special."
She and I glanced at each other and shrugged. Poor Rei the human was now Bob for the rest of our stay.
Laventon cleared his throat. "So uh, Bob and Akari are my fellow researchers, going out into the field and collecting notes about Pokemon for our Pokedex. After much discussion and potato mochi, we decided that they'll be assisting you for however long you may stay. Of course, in return we'd like you to help us fill out the Pokedex with entries on...well, yourselves."
"That doesn't sound too bad.", replied Miss Melody, "We'll happily help you fill out your Pokedex while we try to deal with the situation we came here for."
"Oh good.", replied Laventon, "I was afraid you wouldn't be so willing..."
At that moment, Cyllene strode out of the building. When she saw us, she said, "Oh, you're awake. Come with me."
She started strolling down the main street, and we followed her. She led us to the village gates, where two guards studied the vast grasslands beyond.
Cyllene turned towards us. "Your first trial begins here. It is-"
Suddenly the ground shook, and the guards jumped.
"What in the-over there!", shouted one of them. Cyllene turned around, and frowned.
We looked, and I couldn't believe what I saw.
There was a large comical dust cloud rolling towards us, being led by an armada of purple hoverbikes with spooky purple-armored troops atop them. Behind them were two massive floating warships, behind which there was a gigantic robot suit.
The mech raced across the ground on four massive legs, each of which ended with a massive glowing spike. It led up to a humanoid armored torso, inside of which was the masked pilot. Four massive blaster arms jutted from this torso, with a fifth laser cannon above it. It stood at least four stories high, and wouldn't have looked out of place in a sci-fi movie.
In fact, as I observed the black spiky metal and glowing red lights, it looked like it would make a perfect villain in said movie.
Cyllene looked at us fiercely. "Change of plans.", she said, "Your trial: help us repel these invaders!"
We nodded, and Cyllene quickly hurried back into town, yelling orders and escorting villagers to safety. Meanwhile, we readied ourselves as the army grew closer.
"If we let them all get to us at once, we'll be overwhelmed!", cried Gavin.
"That's why we won't.", I replied, "Time to change the rules of the battlefield."
My friends nodded. We all had a vague idea on how we were going to do that.
I looked back at the incoming army, which was rapidly coming closer. We were going to have to act fast.
Zola howled, buffing us up as well as causing a thick bank of fog to roll in, shrouding the army from sight. As soon as our smokescreen was up, we scattered, and started working.
I scurried around the edges of the fog, looking to see what forces were going to reach us where. I wished I could do more, but there was not much a small, absolutely adorable Eevee could do.
I spotted a hoverbike heading right for me. I crouched back into the fog, waiting for it to come closer. Now that it was closer, I could see that its rider looked very much like a purple stormtrooper from Star Wars. Definitely way too futuristic for this dimension, which suggested that these guys must have figured out how to cross dimensions much like we had.
I did not know what I could do to one of these people, but I was certainly going to try. I summoned forth my fiery aura, and as soon as the hoverbike raced silently to the edge of the mist, I charged him.
I immediately bashed my head on the dense plating, which hurt, but I knocked the bike off-course. My attack had also caught it on fire, which led to it exploding.
The rest of the army either didn't notice or didn't care. As they reached the fog, I heard the buzz of a speaker, and a strange metallic voice shouted, "Surrender the Guardians at once! Otherwise we will slaughter you all!"
"Not happening!", Zeke roared from inside the fog, "How about you retreat right now, or we will destroy you!"
The metallic voice laughed. "How am I supposed to be scared of someone who won't even show their face? Press on, we'll force them out!"
The soldiers charged fearlessly into the fog, and all hell broke loose.
Zeke roared a battlecry, and a massive wave of electricity spread across the battlefield, causing several of the hoverbikes to short-circuit and crash. Thunder rumbled as the sky filled with dark clouds, which was rather surprising considering it had just been bright daylight.
Kai charged in, cheeks crackling with energy. He leaped at the face of one of the soldiers and fired off a Thunder Shock, taking the man down. Fiona yelled, "Who's ready for a barbeque?!", and shot off a brilliant Flamethrower at another hoverbike.
The two hovertanks immediately started bristling with guns, and began to shoot off a barrage of lasers. The mech's legs unfurled into massive propellers, and it took off into the air, while its blaster arms began searching the ground for us.
Rei charged in, her turbine tail flaring to life. She shot off a jet of flames at one of the hovertanks, before leaping on it herself as she started tearing at the guns. The other hovertank inadvertently turned into a giant ice block as Kyle appeared, his eyes glaring furiously at the army.
I noticed the rest of my siblings entering the fray. Gavin, Sara, and Peter tackled one of the soldiers, while Laura jumped onto another from behind as he covered his ears from Sylvie's screeching tirade over how awful their outfits were. Erik was tapping out a beat with a random stick on one of the soldier's helmets, which seemed to be filling everybody else with energy.
I charged at a soldier, who quickly leaped back and pulled out a laser pistol. But it was knocked out of his hands by a Bubble Beam, courtesy of Markus. As the soldier recoiled, I leaped at him and tackled him to the ground, before using the laser pistol to bash him on the head and knock him out.
I noticed the area flicker as it suddenly looked like the battleground was full of Legendary Pokemon. I glanced behind me and noticed that Zoe, Akio, and Zola were working together to summon the illusion.
It was working, that was for sure. The soldiers were panicking and running around, making it easy for us to finish them off.
One went down from Joel's Razor Leaf. Hunter leaped onto the back of one soldier while his brother attacked him from the front. Jack and Nicholas combined the power of their flames to take down another. Steven tripped one by rolling under his feet, while Eddie jumped down on top of one next to him. Anthony was charging through their ranks, scattering them, while another trooper ran by screaming as Wendell pounded on his head.
Then there was Seria.
She was like an avatar of vengeance, destroying as many of the soldiers and vehicles as she could. Psychic energy whirled around her, an arcane storm of which she was the center. Watching her tear through the enemy ranks, I could see firsthand how Mewtwo was the strongest Pokemon in existence.
It was kind of terrifying, to be honest.
I flinched as she clenched her fist, and the frozen hovertank was crushed into itself. The other hovertank burst like a water balloon as she directed her fury into it as well.
I swear, she was taking this way too personally.
The mech chose that moment to descend, a glowing forcefield now emanating off of it. Its pilot yelled, "So these are your new friends, eh, Project 42 and Project 151? I'll drag all of you back to the lab with me!"
Never mind. Seria's rage was TOTALLY understandable.
Miss Melody shouted, "You're going down, uh, whoever you are!"
The mech pilot chuckled, replying, "You may call me Dr. X. You'll be quite an interesting subject, much like that other one. Mew the Third?"
Miss Melody's eyes widened. "Fluffy? You're the reason he disappeared!? I will annihilate you for this!"
"Wait in line.", Seria commented, her eyes glowing with raw power.
Kyle nodded. "He stole me from my family, turned into this cybernetic freak of nature, and experimented on me relentlessly. Allow me a shot at him."
Dr. X replied by opening fire with gatling lasers.
"No time for talk!", Sara shouted, "Everybody focus the mech!"
"Oh, yeah, boss battle!", cheered Peter.
Everybody shot him a look, then turned as the mech rose above us, shrouding the sun. (-o-)
