But then again, that's part of the point of this story.
Let's get started on this new chapter! (-o-)
Brianna's POV
I woke up the next morning due to a heavy rainstorm.
It had ended up waking everyone else up too, and none of them seemed too happy about it, my close friends especially.
Breakfast wasn't much to look forward to, either. Bob and Akari simply gathered a massive pile of berries and had everyone eat those for breakfast. Yet the four humans split the leftover potato mochi amongst themselves and got to have that for breakfast.
Super. Not. Fair.
Oh well, at least it was an excellent time for conversation.
"So, you fell out of the hole in the sky like Akari?", Barry asked, "What was that like?"
Nebby looked cautiously at us. "I can't tell you guys anything about that.", she whispered, "Can't have any possibility of the...bad people, finding me."
"So you're on the run? From who?", asked Akio, "Should we know about them? What if they end up hunting us too?"
Nebby shivered. "Can't tell you.", she said.
"Come on guys, leave her alone.", Zola called, "She'll warm up to us eventually, but we can't interrogate her like that."
"But we need to know some of this stuff!", cried Akio, "What if some monster comes out to try and hunt us because we're traveling with her? We need to know!"
Peter rolled his eyes. "If you guys played Sun and Moon, then you'd know. It's obvious, she got separated from some AU Lillie and is hiding from the Aether Foundation."
Nebby sighed.
"Is that what it is?", Akio asked.
Nebby looked away, muttering, "Yeah...let's go with that."
"It isn't.", Randa declared, "This is a different Cosmog. She's hiding something else."
Nebby glared at him, and he got Paralyzed.
"Gah! Cosmogs don't learn that move!", Randa cried.
Nebby said, a bit more confidently, "I'm no ordinary Cosmog."
"Guys! That's enough for now.", Zola snapped, "Let's talk about something else."
I replied, "Yeah, like the Munchlax running past us right now."
"Om om om om om!", Munchlax said, running past our camp and heading towards the mountains dividing us from the next biome.
"Munchlax! Come back!", Mai cried, running past us.
"Well, that's certainly interesting.", Zeke commented.
Belle pointed up at the storm. "Look, the clouds are heading in the same direction. I think the Munchlax is chasing the weather."
"Isn't she so smart...?", Kai murmured.
"Can somebody fix our Kai now?", Zeke pleaded.
Belle simply smiled at him. "I think he's fine just the way he is."
Anthony growled, "Yeah, because he's wrapped himself around your little finger. Isn't that a powerful tool to have?"
Belle rose an eyebrow. "Ah, somebody doesn't trust me, I see. Interesting."
Everybody looked between the Absol and the female Pikachu, wondering what was going on.
Matthew malfunctioned.
"Oh, you might want to try and fix that poor Porygon!", Belle cried, "Is he supposed to be smoking like that?"
Markus sprayed some water at Matthew to try and get rid of the smoke. Everybody else was nervously whispering to each other, wondering what had happened. Did digital Pokemon malfunction?
I glanced at Anthony, Zola, Rei, and Zoe. We all nodded.
Something was rather strange about that Pikachu.
At that moment, Miss Melody called, "Alright, we're moving!"
"Teacher, Matthew just randomly malfunctioned!", Mia cried.
"Malfunctioned?" Miss Melody teleported beside us. "Oh my."
Vernon and Hoopa flew over as well.
"Huh. I didn't know that could happen.", Vernon commented.
Matthew was making sad clicking noises, smoke still steaming off of him.
Hoopa shrugged. "Hoopa does not know how to fix robot Pokemon. Hoopa would need help. Possibly an instruction manual."
Eddie walked over, a wrench between his teeth. "Let me handle this.", he said, squeezing through the crowd and studying the Porygon closely.
He flipped open a panel on Matthew's back we hadn't even realized existed, and started tinkering around in it, pulling out random clumps of ones and zeroes. He banged around in there a few times with the wrench, then grabbed a few items out of his fur that totally shouldn't have fit in there and installed a rocket engine made out of code inside Matthew.
"Something made Matthew's previous engine mess up. Hacking, magic, a misfired ability, probably aliens...I dunno. But I replaced it and he should run much better and faster now!", Eddie declared, slamming the panel back down onto his paw.
"Meeeeooooooowwwwwchh!", he cried, and zoomed up into a tree, his fur all puffed up and full of static.
Zoe snickered.
Matthew buzzed and flickered back to life. "Whoa! I feel so full of energy! Let's go guys!"
He tried to run, but ended up rocketing off like a spaceship towards the mountains.
"After that Porygon!", shouted Steven the Sandshrew, rolling up and taking off across the ground.
We all took off running, and quickly found ourselves at a mountain pass.
Laventon declared, "This will take us to the Crimson Mirelands! Another Noble awaits us there, I believe it's known as Lilligant? Anyway, we're going to help them out too!"
He muttered, "Probably in some other crazy way like last time."
Once we passed through the valley, the rain immediately grew more intense and the ground turned to mud. Around us the trees had become more like mangroves, and one could see multiple rivers flowing through the area. One could also see some occasional ruins here and there.
There was a muffled boom and a plume of mud deeper within the swamp.
"That's probably where Matthew went.", stated Anthony, "Let's go see what happened to him."
They started running in that direction and immediately came across a large river.
Akio muttered, "Well, that's not going to be easy to - whoa!"
Kyle made a giant bridge of ice across the water and effortlessly walked across it.
"Well, that's convenient.", Simon commented, "I wish I could do that."
The others started crossing, and I noticed Rei walking towards it. I ran over to her and said, "Um, you might want to wait and let the others cross first. Your tail could easily end up melting the bridge."
Rei nodded in understanding, and I started running over the ice, when I heard the sounds of something hitting the bridge.
"Kill the invader!", cried a Barboach.
"In the name of Almighty Buizel!", shouted, uh, a Buizel.
"Die, insects!", roared a Gyarados in the distance, attempting to snipe us with Hydro Pumps.
I yelled, "Um, guys, we're going to need to hurry! The natives hate the bridge!"
"No need to tell me twice!", cried Bob, running and nearly killing himself by slipping on the slick surface. A Hydro Pump roared over his head and shattered a large rock farther down the river.
Soon everyone had made it to the other side except for Rei. The bridge was filling up with cracks now, and Rei nervously stepped back.
"Come on!", I shouted.
Rei then spread her wings and flew to the other side.
"Oh. Guess I shouldn't have worried then.", I muttered, feeling rather silly.
At that moment, the bridge shattered and fell into the river, the denizens cheering excitedly.
"Let's go before they realize they didn't kill us.", Zeke requested, and nobody argued.
Making their way through the swamp, we noticed the remains of many columns ahead of us. There was smoke coming from ahead too, and we hurried there as fast as possible.
Running into a clearing full of mud wallows, we saw a group of Pokemon clustered around a crater. The funny thing was, almost all of them were Shiny Croagunks, with one normal Toxicroak among them.
The Toxicroak spotted us and yelled, "Oi, you go away! This is MY treasure!"
"Your 'treasure' is actually our friend.", Barry replied, "Hand him over!"
"No! He will make a perfect addition to my shiny collection! Go away, or we will KEIL you!", the Toxicroak shouted.
Laura summoned a swarm of vines that lashed around his Croagunks.
"Hey! Alright, you asked for that!", the Toxicroak roared.
He charged, the spikes on his hands lighting up with purple ooze. He jabbed at us with them, but Steven charged into him from behind and knocked him over.
Seria then reached out with her mind, picking him up and sending him flying off until he disappeared into the sky.
The other Croagunks had managed to get free, but seeing their boss disappear like that made them panic. They fled into the trees, and we were free to head over to the crater.
But then we were confronted by a mob of Shiny Roselia, with a normal Roserade twirling in from behind.
"Flower power!", they all cried, spinning around and unleashing a most devastating Petal Dance.
"Take cover!", cried Miss Melody, flower petals leaving thousands of little cuts across our skin. We tried to hide, but the Roselias wouldn't have it.
"Time to turn up the heat!", shouted Vernon, and he unleashed a blast wave of fire that launched away the terrifying flower Pokemon.
We then started walking back over to the crater, when an army of Shiny Ralts and a normal Kirlia used their powers to trap us in stasis.
"The shiny is ours!", the Kirlia declared.
However, their psychic powers were unable to trap Zoe or Hunter. Zoe summoned the illusion of a gigantic Darkrai, while Hunter charged in and started biting all the ankles.
"Teleport!", cried the Kirlia, and they all vanished.
"Anyone else!?", Zeke roared. When nothing else showed up, he smiled. "Good."
We walked over to the crater and saw that there was only a Shiny Stone at the bottom.
"Oh, you have to be joking.", Zeke grumbled, "No one here can even use that to evolve!"
For some odd reason Markus turned into a Frogadier.
"Hey hey, Exp Share is awesome!", he cried.
Simon muttered, "More like cheating."
At that moment there was a strange humming noise, and suddenly they were surrounded by a large purple dome, as lightning flashed around them and random items started popping up everywhere.
Oh, as well as a whole bunch of angry-looking Alpha Pokemon.
"Well, that sucks.", commented Zoe, as the Pokemon all turned towards us. (-o-)
AN: That's another chapter done! I'm going to be trying to update all three of my Pokemon stories today, because I won't be able to do any fanfic writing this weekend.
Cause Pokemon Go Fest!
Anyways, next chapter we'll see if our heroes can survive a space-time distortion! Until then, happy Pokemon hunting! Catch some Shinies while you're at it!
