I quickly ran to the barn door, swung it open and ran to Marlin. He ran faster as he saw me. But I grabbed his shoulder. He tried to resist but then quickly turned around.

"Marlin what happened!" I said gripping tightly. He took a deep breath and looked at Bridget.

"I..I.." He mumbled.

"Yeah, spill" I said nodding. His cheeks grew red and he breathed even harder.

"I told her I didn't have feelings for her and that I had feelings for someone else. But she took it to hard and said we couldn't be friends anymore!" He said crying his eyes out. My heart jumped. He like someone else! I couldn't believe it. I was sure he liked Celia. Maybe it was Muffy…

"REALLY! WHO!" I screamed. He backed away. He held his hands to his ears. "Sorry…" I said softly, trying not to damage his eardrums again.

"I don't want to say. It's complicated. I'm going to say hi to Bessie, See you in 15" He kicked dirt on the way to the barn. I smiled inside.

I was helping Vesta and Celia clean out the greenhouse for the new season. Marlin would have come too but he felt uncomfortable. I could tell Celia was devastated her self. She would only talk about how Marlin would get mad if they "missed a spot". Or how he would look around the dirt for extra seeds and then keep them in a little scrap book. But I just nodded. Not saying a word. Celia laughed to her self but all I could see was pain beyond her eyes.

When we finished, Vesta treated us to a beer at the Blue Bar. Rock and Muffy were there. Muffy Flaunted over Rock. But when we walked through the door, he paid no attention to her.

"Hey guys…were is Marlin?" rock asked. Celia looked down.

"Probably with the girl he likes" She said under her breath.

"What?" Muffy said confused.

"Oh, nothing, talking to my self ha-ha" She said. I knew exactly what she was saying. I laughed to myself.

We all drank our drinks and gladly let Vesta pay. I was kind of broke anyway. Of course I would pay her back though.

Vesta left us to our drinks. We sat around and talked about farm life. About 10 minutes after, Marlin walked through the door. I got butterflies. Celia breathed in and sipped her beer. She finished her drink and put it on the counter. Marlin looked at her as she passed him and walked out the door. Marlin shook his head and sat down beside me and Muffy. Muffy smiled and I did the same. Rock stood and walked over.

"Hey dude, rough day." Rock said punching his arm. Marlin ignored his punch and nodded.

"Want to talk outside?" Rock suggested. Again Marlin nodded. They steeped outside. Me and Muffy talked about what they could be talking about. But I slipped information out that shouldn't been said…
