The next day, Danny came to work early for an important meeting. He went into the meeting and saw Millie, Moxxie, and Loona; at the end of the table was a sick-looking Blitzo wearing a white t-shirt and gray sweatpants with a pile of used tissue to the left of him, and to the right was a tissue box. Danny sat down at the meeting table. He asked Blitzo.
"Um, Blitz, are you alright?"
"Do I look like *achoo* mother fucker? Why did I have to get sick now of all the days," said Blitzo.
"So what's the job? said Moxxie.
"We have to kill some side-show asshole named Freak Show who killed the client in the sacrificial circle."
"And does that mean he has some magical or satanic powers?" said Millie.
"You got that right, *achoo*, and have ghost henchmen, so Danny grabs your parents' ghost weapons."
"I'll try, and where is this Freakshow at?" said Danny.
Even in his sick state, Blitzo managed to make a Cheshire smile. "I got info that a freak show will be in your hometown."
"Wait, what?"
"Yeah, this guy is traveling with a goth circus and he is arriving at your town, probably going to try to sacrifice another person."
"Well, that's just great." Danny crossed his arms.
"Don't be a bitch, Danny. Besides, I'm tagging along since Blitz is too sick to go topside," said Loona.
"Really?"
"As much as it burns me to see my baby Loona topside without me and interacting with some d-bags, I trust you three to keep her safe," said Blitzo.
"Sir, I think Loona can take care of herself pretty well," said Moxxie.
"True, but if anything happens to my little girl, someone is going to lose a fucking head."
"Don't worry, Blitz Loona is in safe hands," said Millie, reassuring her boss.
Danny thought, "This day is going to be a shit show. My only hope is that it doesn't affect someone I know."
On Earth, Sam was in her room looking for the right clothes as Circus Gothica came to town. She has been waiting for this day almost despite her issues with Danny, and she and Tucker are going to confront him the first chance they see him. Sam grabbed a purple tank top with a white skull, black pants, and her usual black boots. She walked out of her room and sneaked past her preppy parents, who talked about the protest that would start at the circus. Even though they didn't want her to go to the circus, like a rebellious teen, she was still going to have a good time.
She got out of the house and headed down to Circus Gothica. On the way, she met up with Tucker.
"I can't believe you got me into going to this circus, Sam," said Tucker.
"Hey, you say you've got nothing better to do," said Sam.
"Have you seen Danny?"
"I haven't. He's probably at work again."
"Seriously, what type of job does he have for his boss to call him at random points in the day?"
"Something unusual and shaddy."
"I wouldn't think that, Sam. It's not like Danny joined a criminal organization."
The conversation ended as the two reached Circus Gothica, where there was a large black tent with a skull, a large crowd, and the circus was next to a train yard. Walking into the crowd, Sam felt at home while Tucker felt so out of place. As they waited for the circus to start, Sam and Tucker spotted a familiar face in the crowd. Sure enough, after getting past a couple of goths, they saw Danny talking to an older, tall goth girl, and the two of them wore matching black backpacks. The two teens have two different reactions to seeing Danny and Sam. She wants to know why Danny was doing it at the circus and who the hell was that girl he was talking to. Tucker was slightly jealous that Danny was talking to someone that hot, and he was worried that Sam might explode in jealousy and cause a scene.
"I'm going over there," said Sam, who was fuming.
"No, Sam, you just need to calm down," said Tucker.
"Calm down; all that stuff about his job could be a god damn lie and he could have been hanging out with that girl for all we know."
"We don't know that about Sam."
Before they could say anything, they heard shouting, and they looked behind them at a crowd of parents, including Sam's, marching near the circus. Two ducked into the crowd to avoid the protest. Meanwhile, Danny and Loona walked around the circus and the crowd of goths.
"What's taking so long for this circus to start already?" said Loona.
"No idea, but we should wait until the circus is over to get to the freakshow," said Danny.
Moxxie commented from Danny's backpack, "That sounds like a smart idea."
"Thanks, Moxxie."
"Whatever," said Loona.
Millie took a peek through Loona's backpack to look at the protest. "We might have to worry about the protest."
"Then we just have to be quiet and quick with the kill or wait for them to fuck off when the protest goes nowhere."
Then, coming out of the tent was Freakshow, wearing a red and black outfit with a black trench coat and holding a red orb staff. The roar of the crowd screamed in delight when they saw him.
"Hello, my audience. Welcome to Circus Gothica, where you will find yourself truly at home." Then, toward the protesters, "and what do you dear parents want?"
"We want you and your circus out of here before you ruin our children's future," Sam's mom shouted.
The goth crowd booed her.
"Now I think about your children and other opinions that they want to go to my circus. What do you guys say?"
The crowd cheered, and the tent door opened. The crowd goes into the big top, not listening to the protesters. Danny and Loona go into the tent. They saw inside the circus as a regular circus but all gothic, with themes of horror and death that could be seen and felt throughout the tent. Danny and Loona took a seat in the audience section and watched the performance. It starts with creepy goth clowns doing dark comedy, then goes to a tightrope walker balancing a chainsaw while walking on a tightrope. The two got bored very quickly as they saw crazy things on their job and in hell, so nothing was interesting to them, except when Danny turned to his right, he saw Sam and Tucker in the right section of the audience seating.
"Fuck," Danny exclaimed.
"What is it?" said Loona.
"My friends are here."
"That could be a problem," Millie whispered.
"Did you know they were going to be here," Moxxie whispered.
"I forgot," said Danny.
"Nice one," said Loona sarcastically.
"Look, we just have to avoid them and get to Freakshow."
"This just gets more complicated every second," Loona thought.
At the end of the Circus Gothica, most of the protesters went home, and so did the crowd. Loona and Danny saw Freakshow with a young goth woman around the age of eighteen, taking her to a smaller circus tent, and they followed them to the tent. They sneaked into the tent and let Moxxie and Millie out of their backpacks. All of them listen to Freakshow and the young woman.
"You think I could join your circus?" said the young woman
"Yes, but you need to do one thing for me," said Freakshow.
"What's that?"
"You need to die." Then he pulled out a small pipe and knocked the young woman out, "Now let the sacrifice start."
Four ghosts came out of hiding. One was a buff ghost, the second was a midget with tight black underwear, the third was a woman's ghost with red clothing, and the fourth was a ghost with a mohawk tattoo and scary tattoos. The tattoo ghost hands Freakshow a knife, and the buff ghost places the knocked woman on a pentagram.
"I think it's time to kill this a-hole," Loona whispered,
"Right on," said Millie, pulling out a pistol.
Three minutes ago, Sam and Tucker were about to leave the circus until they saw a glimpse of Danny and the older girl. He was sneaking toward the smaller tent.
"What are they doing?" asked Sam.
"I don't know, Sam, we should leave. The sun is going down," said Tucker.
"Not without Danny explaining the hell going on with him."
"Look, I know you are worried about Danny, but I think your jealousy is boiling over."
"Jealousy?"
"Yes, you were eyeing the other girl pretty hard, Sam."
"Okay, look here..."
Sam was interrupted by gunfire and screams. She and Tucker turn to the small tent. They saw a flash of light and bullets coming out of the tent.
"Danny," said Sam, who goes headfirst into the tent.
"Dammit Sam," said Tucker, going after her.
Sam and Tucker ran into the tent, and they were shocked to see three demon-fighting ghosts, a knocked-goth woman on a pentagram, and a wolf girl trying to chop off Freakshow with a machete.
"Holy shit," said Sam.
Danny looked and saw his friend while dealing with the buff ghost.
"You've got to be kidding me," Danny thought.
"You demons aren't going to stop me from being a demon lord!" Freakshow shouted, trying to stab Loona with the knife, but he ducked.
Yeah, that's never going to happen," said Loona, kicking him in the groin.
This caused him to drop the red orb staff, and it shattered on the ground.
"Motherfucker," said Freakshow.
Then most of the ghosts stopped attacking the imps and turned to Freakshow.
"This is going to be ugly," said Moxxie.
The buff, the midget, and the girl with the eye patch flew straight into Freakshow as the tattoo girl disappeared. Freakshow tried to escape, but the ghost caught up to him and started to rip him to pieces, leaving a mess of organs, blood, and body apart, and they flew off.
"Whelp job is done," said Loona.
"Not quite," said Millie, pointing at Sam and Tucker, who was still shocked by what they saw, and Tucker lost his lunch.
"Shit."
Then I heard police sirens in the distance.
"The cops," said Moxxie.
"It's time to go," said Loona, pulling out the Stolas's Grimoire from her backpack, and she quickly made
Danny then grabbed Tucker and Sam's hands.
"Woah, we're not going near that portal," said Sam.
"Look either at that or talk to the police about what you saw. They are not absolutely going to believe you," said Danny.
"Danny?" said Sam and Tucker at the same time.
"Yes, now I'll explain everything. C'mon."
Danny takes his friend into the portal, and his co-workers go through the portal. It closed up as soon as the cop arrived.
