School was alright for most people, all except jughead, he was still miserable after what happed with the soul stealer, the others tried their best to jeer him up
"come on jughead we are trying to help you" said Archie
"will you just leave it" he shouted "I don't want to hear anymore" and then he stormed off
Archie wanted to go after him but then the girls stopped him "maybe you should leave him alone" said Betty
"yeah he's going through kind of experience" said veronica "maybe some peace and quiet will help him"
"alright" said Archie "I'm just going to see Dilton"
"what for" said Betty
"I promised an interview for the school blog again, he's got some new invention" said Archie "and I was thinking maybe he should be part of the team"
"what team" said Veronica
"well do you remember what Sabrina said about the prophecy" said Archie "she said more people will join to fight this evil, I think it should be Dilton"
"why him" said Veronica "I mean I know he's smart, but I'm not sure he's capable enough"
"oh, come on Ronnie" said Betty "there's more to Dilton then that"
"Well anyway, I don't think it a good idea to tell him anything just yet" said Veronica "not until we hear from Sabrina and the others"
"alright then" said Archie as he went off to find Dilton
Cheryl and Toni were listening nearby, then approached Betty and Veronica
"Hi there" said Cheryl with a smile on her face
Betty and Veronica were confused, Cheryl wasn't always nice so it was unnerving when she was.
"here you go Betty" said Cheryl, handing her a handbag which Betty took "it a gift from me to you"
"um, ok sure" said Betty "why the gift all of a sudden"
"oh you know, just clearing some space in my room" said Cheryl "then I realised you don't have any good handbags, so here's one of mine"
"um, thanks" said Betty "I think"
"why are being so nice...ow" said Veronica as Toni bumped into her
"oh sorry Veronica" said Toni "Cheryl. Can I talk to you for a moment?"
as soon as they went off. Betty and Veronica started talking.
"You're not going to keep that are you," said Veronica
"Well, it is pretty nice though" Said Betty
"what do you think that Tony and Cheryl to talk about" Veronica looked at Betty "Do you think it's love"
"Possibly" said Betty "Oh well whatever makes them happy"
meanwhile with Toni and Cheryl
"So did you put the mini microphone and tracking device in Veronica's bag yet" said Cheryl
"yes, I did" said Toni "hopefully she won't find it"
"nice save by the way by bumping into her" said Cheryl "that was impressive"
"yeah, that wasn't planned, I just went along with it" said Toni "what about Archie and jughead"
"we'll do them some other time" said Cheryl "right now we just wait and listen on"
Meanwhile Archie was talking with Dilton in the science lab
due to Dilton finishing his homework early and getting a plus on all these tests, the school allowed him make inventions in the school science lab, as long as nothing was destroyed of course, he is currently working on a big screen that looked like radar for submarines.
"So, what are you making Dilton" asked Archie
"it's a tracking device to help find strange signals" said Dilton "this invention could help benefit the police"
"How so," said Archie
"Say if the police are track missing cars" said Dilton "I'm gonna try it right now"
Archie question himself if he should tell Dilton, remembering what Veronica said he decided not to, but to questions Dilton logic "hey can I ask you something"
"Sure, what is it"
"what's your take on the supernatural" ask Archie
"Well, I do believe in things that can't be explained" so Dilton "but if there's no rational explanation then it's probably just nothing"
"Alright then" said Archie, thinking what he said
"Why you ask" said Dilton
"Oh no reason" lied Archie
"Hey, I've got a signal" said Dilton pointing to the screen
"What does it mean," said Archie
"I don't know" said Dilton "it's strange there's nothing out in that area that should get a signal"
"Well stranger things have happened" joked Archie, but he only knew the half of it
"I'm going drive up there to see whatever this thing is" said Dilton "do you want to come with"
"No, I've got things to do," said Archie
OK then we'll see you later" said Dilton as they want their separate ways
The Spellman's house
the gang were hanging around Sabrina's room waiting for the next mission or training to happen, while this was happening sabrina's cat entered through the open door
"So what are we waiting for" said Veronica
"we just sit here and wait" said Sabrina
"Dose this happened to you often" said Betty
"No, no not really" said Sabrina
"Oh Sabrina shouldn't be lying now" said the cat
This surprised the gang "did that cat just talked," said Archie
"yes, he did, his name is Salem" said Sabrina
"You have a talking cat" Said Veronica
"he's not a talking cat, he's a familiar" she responed
"a what" said Betty
"oh it a person who were once human who died formed to help other witch or warlock in another life as an animal" said Archie
"Well done Archie" said Salem the cat "someone give that man an award"
"Can I pet his head" ask Betty
"sure" said Sabrina
Betty did so and Salem purred with joy
"how come you never told us about him" said Betty
"truth, I just forgot" said Sabrina
"Wow, I don't know if should be offended by that," said Salem
"So, who were you before you became a familiar" asked Archie
"Oh, you know I was just a friendly war Lord causing chaos" the cat replied
"Right" said Veronica making a strange face in the process
"Are we going to have our new assignment soon" said jughead impatiently
"Yes, we will jughead" said Sabrina "are you OK"
"Will everyone stop saying that about me I'm fine" he said angry "actually no I'm not fine I just killed someone yesterday and I'm supposed to do that again and just say it's just nothing"
"Look I know this is hard for you, but you have to move on," said Sabrina
"What do you know about I'm going though" he said back harshly
"More then you already know," said Salem
"Salem don't" Sabrina scolded him
"what's that supposed to mean," said Veronica
"Nothing, he means nothing buy it" said Sabrina quickly
just then Bo walked in "guess what, we found your new assignment"
they went downstairs where Hilda and Zelda we're looking at a map spread across the dining table
"Strange things are coming from this area" said Hilda "some kind of mutated magic"
"what's that" said Archie "never heard of that before"
"Wow, for once you don't know" said Veronica cheekily
"It's where unstable magic mutates into something or someone else" said Sabrina
"Like what" said Betty
"Like a totally different life form," said Zelda "but there has to be some sort of like material or element nearby for it to mutate"
"so we could be dealing with a rock monster or a glob of pudding," said Archie
"a pudding monster," said Bo "not sure if that would be amazing or terrifying"
"In more serious matters" said Zelda "we found the source here in this part of the area on this map"
Archie had a good look at it, then realised that area look familiar "wait a minute Are you sure" said Archie
"yes of course we are" said Zelda
"Oh no Dilton" said Archie looking scared, now realising it's the same spot where Dilton was going.
"what is it" said Betty "what about Dilton"
"he said that he was going to visit a reading of a radar he saw on his invention" said Archie "we have to get there now and get him out of there"
"alright lets go" said Bo
"wait before you go there's something we might need to tell you" Said Zelda pointing at the others "while you did manage to save that couple in the mall, there may be a time where you can't save everyone"
"Are you saying that we can't save Dilton" said jughead
"no, you can and you can try" said Hilda "it just might be the old saying you can't save everyone"
The gang looked at themselves long hard, thinking what she said, until Archie broke the silence "ok can we go now"
"yes you may" said Hilda "gather in a circle and we'll transport you out"
they did just that and with a flash of magic they disappeared hopefully in time to save Dilton
