IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN YOU

Hermione had rushed into Harry's office, because when Ron told her what had happened and that he was back in his office, she didn't think twice and bolted.

Walking into the office, Harry had his back to his desk, until he heard the door open and he turned to see his best friend, a look of both anger and concern on his face, causing him to bring his hands up to his face, feeling embarrassed, because he also knew that he was about to receive a reprimand.

"Harry James Potter! You are a great idiot!" she claimed, while sobbing she approached him and began to hit him with her little fists.

"Hermione! What? How? Who? Harry exclaimed," already knowing the answer and intimidated by his friend's reaction.

"Ron... I ran into him, he told me you were attacked, why didn't you send a patronus?" Hermione said looking at him with a mixture of fury and concern.

''I knew it, Ron opened his mouth'' Harry thought, a little annoyed, he'd see how to claim him later.

"Hey... Hermione, I'm fine," the green-eyed man said trying to calm her down.

"God! I was worried, I thought you were seriously injured" The chestnut tree finished sobbing, while checking it from top to bottom for serious injuries, but only managed to see a few scratches, making sure it was fine.

They hugged for a long moment, in which neither knew how much time passed.

Harry had returned her hug. He felt several seconds pass, although he wasn't really aware of how long that hug lasted, what he did know was that he had always liked Hermione's hugs. They made him feel wanted, loved.

They parted slowly, until they were face to face and staring into each other's eyes for a few seconds that seemed like hours, in which Harry could detect a gleam in Hermione's honey eyes.

The brunette, unable to avoid the impulse that her concern caused her, took his face with both hands and kissed him on the lips.

Seconds after Harry saw the sparkle in her eyes, he felt the brunette's hands caress his face and then felt her lips on his. He had been caught off guard, his eyes widened in surprise, but when he felt her warm lips he closed his eyes and began to kiss back. He took her by the waist, feeling how she wrapped her arms around his neck and then slid her fingers through his unruly black hair.

It didn't take long, when both of them ran through their whole body, a wave of electricity, which made their hearts accelerate and beat to the beat of the other, frantically.

The soft kiss quickly turned into a kiss full of passion, becoming more and more demanding and dragging on every second, leading Harry to have some kind of flashbacks in his head.

"Boiled snails! You are Harry Potter! I have read a lot about you.

A small girl with messy brown hair snuck into his head, coming out of the shadow of his memories.

Her little red cheeks. Her big, tender brown eyes. Her sharp voice...

The eleven-year-old Hermione was standing in front of him again...

But for some reason, it was changing very fast.

At first it was hard for him to understand that he was watching her grow up at an alarming rate...

She saw how those traits that characterized her were still there, but her voice became more mature...

"Harry! It's so good to see you again!" a twelve-year-old Hermione was standing in front of him, about to start their second year at school, although at that moment, they were both in Diagon Alley.

Time continued to run and he could distinguish, despite the great speed, every moment of that year they had lived together. All the laughter, scolding, smiles and tears that she had produced.

The same thing happened with his third year. She was still the same girl, but he noticed a certain difference in her, since she was no longer a little girl, of small stature that he had seen for the first time.

When he reached his fourth year, the memories started to stop at specific times...

Arrival at the burrow, where she greeted him from across the kitchen.

The fear he had felt for her the night they attacked the entire crowd at the Quidditch World Cup.

The fury she felt towards Malfoy for insulting her.

How much he appreciated that she was the only one who had stayed until dawn to help him.

How beautiful she looked in that blue dress and how she had taken his breath away, passing him with a small shy smile.

Her worried look upon hearing about the tournament. The affection and protection that she had with him and how he secretly wanted to spend more time than usual with her.

That pressure he felt in his chest, seeing her attend the ball with Viktor Krum.

The kiss on the cheek that she had given him when they said goodbye at the KingCross station...

How she had cared about the marks Umbridge had left on her hands...

The anguish and pain he felt when he believed he had lost her, when Dolohov cast his curse on her...

When she, despite being in danger, never separated from him in the search for horcruxes...

The sacrifice she made with her parents to be able to follow him, to what could be her death, in the search for horcruxes...

The pain, the anguish and the helplessness that he felt when hearing her screams, when being tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange in Malfoy Manor…

She never left him alone, not for a damn second, she was always by his side, worrying about him and taking care of him...

Her tearful face and the hug she had given him knowing that he would have to give himself up to Voldemort and walk into the forbidden forest...

Her attempt not to want to let go of him and tell him that she would go with him, when she knew that he had to give himself up…

….

And then he understood everything...

The memories continued to invade his mind, until they slowly stopped kissing, separated and opened their eyes.

Hermione looked at Harry and felt completely embarrassed at what she had done. She had been driven on impulse, by her concern and her desire to taste his lips. When their gazes met, she scared brought her hands to her mouth, blushing, surprised by what had happened, as she slowly backed away and ran out of her best friend's office, while he was still paralyzed without leaving his trance of memories and shocked at what had just happened.

The truth fell on him like a bucket of cold water, because with that kiss he had realized that he was in love with Hermione, she had always been his only constant. With a goofy smile on his face, he started to walk towards the door where his friend had left a few seconds ago and headed to her office.

As he walked, his mind kept flooding with memories. Flashbacks of him and Hermione, while also thinking about what had just happened.

''He had kissed his best friend and he had liked it'', ''He was in love with her''...

"By Merlin's pants! He had tasted those lips, he had to kiss them again, because it was going to be a difficult task to get away from them and from her"...

''I had never felt anything like this when kissing a woman. Neither Cho, nor Ginny, made him feel that way''…

Although to be honest, he had never really been in love with Ginny, nor with Cho, as he had realized that they had only been attractions. The difference was that he appreciated the redhead, she was his friend.''

''But going back to the present, the kiss that he had shared with Cho or with Ginny, were NOTHING, compared to the kiss that had just been given with Hermione ''...

''He was after her. He would kiss her and confess his love to her''...

Meanwhile, the brunette had entered her office and started pacing back and forth, trying to calm down for what had just happened.

"She had kissed Harry!"

''She had kissed her best friend! she had ruined their friendship!'', "but by Merlin that kiss had exceeded her expectations! It felt so right."

"By Merlin, I kissed him! and all I think about is that his lips are already a drug for me."

"She had heard Cho, in her fifth year, make a comment to her friend Marietta about how well Harry was a kisser and she had also heard Ginny, in her sixth year, talk about Harry's perfect lips and how well he kissed.''

"But that kiss they had given each other a few minutes ago couldn't be classified as just, 'well', that had been heavenly heaven."

''Harry was an extremely good kisser, I wanted to kiss him again, but I wasn't sure if that would happen again''...

He was spinning around and around, clutching her already messy hair, when she heard the door open and turned to see her green-eyed best friend walk in. Her eyes widened, giving him an embarrassed look and she was sure her face was on fire from her blush.

"Harry... I... I'm sorry," the brunette began to say. Her voice trembled as she continued to turn from side to side.

"Hermione…" Harry tried to get her attention, as he put his hands in his pants pockets.

"I ruined everything! I ruined our friendship! You have every right to get away from me." she said scandalized.

"Hermione… "

He raised his voice a little higher, but Hermione was still shocked, pacing back and forth.

"I got carried away by the worry I felt! I got carried away and I ruined it, Harry, I ruined our...!" She kept saying nonstop, until she was interrupted by Harry, already desperate.

"Hermione! The jet shouted, making his friend react and make her look at him with her eyes slightly misted with tears.

"Can you shut up for a moment?" Harry asked, as he approached her and held her face with both hands, looking her straight in the eyes with those beautiful green orbs, which made her knees tremble and get lost in them.

He caressed her cheeks with his fingers, while she looked at him confused and scared.

Unable to contain himself anymore, Harry kissed her. The kiss was demanding, more and more. He kissed her with all the love he now knew he felt for her. She reciprocated gladly and linked her arms around his neck again, feeling his arms slide around her waist. The kiss deepened even more.

Pulling away, Harry grabbed her face again and looked into her eyes, but before he could say anything, she stepped forward.

"Why was that, Harry?" She asked still confused and with her eyes still full of tears.

"Because with that kiss you gave me, I realized that I love you, I've always loved you, it's always been you and I've really been a fool for not realizing it before," he clarified, while they both brought their foreheads together.

Hermione smiled, shedding tears, but from happiness. She couldn't believe that Harry was giving her back and telling her that he loves her. This was a dream come true.

"I have to stop making cry the girls I kiss," Harry said, smiling a little and making the brunette laugh more.

"Silly…" Hermione said smiling.

"I think I could have started to realize what I feel for you, a little before the kiss, but I wasn't sure yet and I didn't want to hurt you" said the green-eyed man "because it was because of a ''little'' attack of jealousy with Viktor Krum, I was pissed off and needed to retaliate with something. So I stormed out of the ministry, but what I wasn't counting on was running into a few death eaters out there and I had no choice but to face them," Harry finished, blushing at what he thought would be another reprimand, but as he saw that Hermione made as if to continue listening, he continued.

"This morning, Viktor showed up at the ministry for work of course, but after we finished talking about those matters, he decided to tell Ron and me that he would try to win you over now that you had ended your relationship and at that moment, my mind was clouded and I couldn't remember what you had confessed to feeling for me and I only imagined seeing you with him and without thinking, I pounced on him grabbing his neck until Ron, who was also furious cursing him, told me to stop. said Harry , making a disgusted face.

Hermione shook her head with a smile on her face, as she looked at Harry with sweetness and all her love.

"Harry, I've had a crush on you since we were in fourth year at Hogwarts and waiting for you to see me as a desirable girl you might like. Now that you finally do, do you think I'm going to go into the arms of Viktor Krum?! He can be famous, Quidditch star and whatever you want, but I'm not going to go into his arms, when I have you!" The brunette exclaimed, a little blushed at her words, caressing Harry's cheek while he held her with his arms around her waist .

"Hermione, why me?" Harry asked somewhat embarrassed." I mean why me, when you have who knows how many wizards behind you?"

"One does not choose who to fall in love with and after so many adventures together, it is you who I fell in love with and if I had to choose, I would choose you a million times. You are a wonderful man Harry, even if you don't see it, you have the biggest and most generous heart I know. I love your sensitivity, your simplicity and your humility. Plus, you're one of the only two people I can totally trust." Hermione said, looking sweetly into his eyes.

She wasn't the only one who had blushed, because Harry's face was burning due to his blush, caused by the brunette's words.

"I think then we only have one thing to change and it's the way of being together," Harry said, creating a small gesture of confusion in her, which was soon cleared up "Would you be my girlfriend?" asked the green-eyed man, with a smile.

"Are you seriously asking me that, Harry?" answered the brunette, raising an eyebrow "I thought it was obvious that yes!" said Hermione, with an indelible smile, while the green-eyed with a smile, returned to join his lips with hers.

They melted into another deep and long kiss, without the intention of separating, until the oxygen was necessary.

Their gazes connected drawing them together and causing their heads to tilt back to kiss again, when the door to Hermione's office opened and a head of red hair came through it, interrupting their next kiss and causing them both to blush and pull apart quickly.

Ron looked at them smiling, he had seen the movement of both, he was sure they were going to kiss, he scanned them noticing that they were both red.

"So? What did I miss?" Ron asked, a mischievous smile on his lips, oh he was going to enjoy this.

"Huh?" Harry exclaimed, searching for something to say.

Hermione seemed to be in a kind of shock, she couldn't be happier, she wanted to jump, she wanted to jump, or even fly despite being afraid of heights.

Ron crossed his arms and walked over to them, the smile on his face not fading.

"Do you know? I'm not an expert, but you both have symptoms of a rare disease... Are you sick? Your faces are red, you must have a temperature, Harry, friend, it seems that you are about to sweat, both have a little swollen lip, could it be intoxication? Hermione, you're gone... yes, I think you both have something..." the redhead began to joke.

"No, Ron. We're not sick... we..." the brunette tried to say, after having looked at Harry and realizing both that they were actually red and they couldn't deny it anymore.

"You're in love, yes, you're lovesick," Ron interrupted.

His two very blushing best friends held hands, just smiled and nodded, while the redhead pounced on them with a huge, suffocating hug, congratulating them.

"It's about time! Ron exclaimed with enthusiasm and an indelible smile." Congratulations to both of you!"

"Hey, I know I told you not to tell Hermione, because I didn't want her to worry," Harry said to Ron, noticing that his friend was looking at them both with narrowed eyes, "but… I thank you, if you hadn't told her, this wouldn't have happened right now," Harry declared, raising their joined hands to note that they were now together.

"You're welcome, friend," Ron simply said, with a huge smile, "although she was the one who forced me, with that terrifying look that you know makes me talk," said the redhead, a little blushing.

"By the way, when we go out and go home, I'll heal your wounds," Hermione said firmly, "and don't argue with me, Harry Potter," the brunette protested, noticing that her best friend was going to protest, causing him to nod like a scolded child.

After their romantic moment, the three of them had left heading towards the meeting room, because Ronald had gone to his friend's office to tell her that they would have a meeting with the aurors and luckily, Harry was with her.

In the evening, the three of them went to Hermione's apartment, where they decided that they would order a pizza and have some drinks, since the next day was Saturday and they did not have to attend the ministry, plus they wanted to spend a night with friends and Ron had asked to be brought up to date on what had happened between them, causing Harry and Hermione to blush violently.

Both friends, now a couple, told him how everything had happened between them, since Ron had told Hermione what had happened and Harry was back in his office.

After bringing him up to speed, as Harry brought his bottle of butterbeer to his mouth, Hermione mentioned that after their meeting, Viktor Krum had come to see her in her office, causing the raven to react, putting his beer bottle on the kitchen counter, making it echo throughout the apartment room and raising an eyebrow in utter disbelief and annoyance, while Ron nearly spit out the drink in his mouth.

"And what did he say or do to you?" exclaimed Harry, annoyed and directing an incredulous look towards his best friend and girlfriend.

"Did he?... not him..." Hermione began, confused by the tone and attitude that the jet had used.

Harry frowned and taking the beer hard he interrupted her.

"That muscular idiot…" the raven muttered with his jaw tense, when Hermione interrupted him.

"Harry!" The brunette called his attention, with a bit of mockery "Nothing happened, nor will anything happen with Viktor!" The girl tried to make it clear.

"That idiot likes you!" Harry exclaimed, as he tried in every way to calm down and not get up from the bench where he was sitting next to the bar and in front of Hermione.

"And what of that?" she asked with a bit of amusement, caused by Harry's obvious jealousy.

"How what and what?! No one is going to touch my girlfriend...!" Harry countered angrily.

"Harry! No one is going to touch me without my consent!" Hermione declared, making Harry smile proudly at her.

"But... What if you change me? For him… for that bald guy?" Harry added, his jealousy skyrocketing again, remembering Krum.

"I'm in love with my best friend! And that's not going to change," Hermione clarified, getting up from her bench and approaching the green-eyed man.

The jet blinked seeing how the brunette approached him with a lopsided smile.

"Are you sure about that, Granger?" Harry asked, understanding her game and following suit, as he got up from his bench walking a little towards her and crossing his arms, while Ron looked from one to the other, amused at their game.

Hermione, with her left hand, caressed his cheek and then tangled her fingers in the raven's messy hair.

"Try me, Potter!" Said the brunette, in a playful and daring tone, to then draw Harry's head towards her and join their lips in a "quick" kiss that was prolonged, with Harry taking her by the waist, until Ron had to clear your throat for them to separate.

"Hey! I'm happy for you, but don't drool your faces in front of me!" The redhead exclaimed, with feigned anger.

Reluctantly they parted smiling and both ran their tongues over their own lips, still tasting each other's lips.

"He had been an idiot for not realizing before, how in love he was with Hermione and how much he loved her, but he was sure that love would grow more and more" thought Harry.

"He felt extremely miserable and guilty for everything he had put his best friend through, without being aware of her feelings for him and had even more respect for her, realizing how long she loved him and how strong she was and it was shown in front of him and the others, when her heart was broken. He promised himself, to compensate for all those moments in which he made her suffer and make her completely happy, as long as he was with her, which he hoped would be the rest of his life. He would show her, just as she showed him for so long, all the love he feels and will feel for her, as time goes by.

"I would do anything for her" Harry found himself reflecting on his thoughts.

Meanwhile, Hermione listlessly told them what had happened with Viktor after the meeting.

flash-back

Hermione had left the meeting and entered her office, when she heard a knock on the door.

" Go ahead," said the brunette, as she took a seat behind her desk.

When the door opened, she saw Viktor Krum enter through it and remembered what Harry had told her hours before, about the Bulgarian telling him and Ron that he was planning to ask her out and win her over, which was really impossible.

" Viktor!" Hermione exclaimed, with a bit of excitement .

" Hello, Hermione," the bulgarian greeted back, making a gesture of satisfaction when seeing the surprised brunette that he had managed to pronounce her name correctly, after so long.

" To what do I owe the honor of your visit?" Hermione asked.

" I wanted to invite you to come with me to a game that I will have this weekend. That you come to see me play and then we could have a date" Krum said a little blushing " I'm still very much in love with you and I would like you to give me the opportunity to be with you."

Hermione had been transfixed, flushed and speechless at Krum's statement, until he waved his hand in front of her several times and snapped her out of her trance.

The brunette smiled with some sorrow, while taking his hand affectionately.

" Viktor, I appreciate your honesty and your invitation, I'm flattered, but I can't accept or reciprocate. I'm in love with someone else" she finished with a soft tone.

The Bulgarian blushed and lowered his eyes in shame.

" Are you still in love with Pot...?" Krum dared to ask with a tone of envy and hatred, until the brunette interrupted him, with a hint of annoyance at the tone he used to refer to her best friend.

" I'm still in love with Harry and now I'm going out with him," she said, with a goofy smile and trying to clarify, apologizing to him for turning down her invitation.

" I understand. I have always been envious and jealous of Potter. I'm sorry about this, Hermione. It has been a pleasure to see you and possibly we will continue to see each other while I am working around here." Viktor said despondently, getting up and walking towards the door.

end of flashback

"Now you are calm and safe?" The brunette asked Harry, as he took a drink of his beer and put it on the bar.

"Hermione, I trust you and you know it, but that doesn't stop me from being jealous of any jerk that approaches you," the green - eyed clarified.

"I'm watching you both," said Ron, pointing at them with his finger, while holding his bottle in his hand, "although I know you adore each other and that you wouldn't hurt each other intentionally, but it never hurts to watch you," the redhead clarified, narrowing his eyes.

They stayed for a while between the three of them, a while for the golden trio, since they had also agreed to meet at Hermione's house, with Ginny, Neville and Luna, who an hour later were knocking on the door.

Harry and Hermione were at the moment a bit lost in a conversation with each other, so Ron had to go open the door. When he got to the door, he greeted his sister with Neville and then Luna entered, who threw herself into Ron's arms, to greet him with a kiss on the lips.

When the four of them were inside the apartment, they stood paralyzed at the entrance and trying not to make too much noise, as they had entered and looked at how Harry and Hermione were hugging each other and had given several small kisses on the lips. But seeing this, the emotion did not allow the girls to remain silent, as soon as they saw them kiss, they screamed making Harry and Hermione separate a little blushing.

"By Merlin and Morgana! When did this happen?" Ginny shouted excitedly.

"In fact, it happened this afternoon at the ministry," the jet clarified as he hugged Hermione from behind and placed a tender kiss on her head and then on her cheek, making his best friend blush even more.

Very excited all the others, they managed to answer in chorus.

"It's about time! Neville, Ginny and Luna shouted in unison, while Ron just laughed at his friends and took the blonde's hand.

"HA! I told them the same thing this afternoon, when I discovered them," declared the redhead.

Harry and Hermione looked at each other sharing a smile and quite blushing.

"I had gotten a little bummed out after mom interrupted you guys in the kitchen the other night," Ginny said. "But it did happen in the end! Congratulations guys!" Wait for the other Hogwarts classmates to find out. In fact, I think the whole school expected the two of you to go out together, at least after us Harry, although I think before. The redhead finished without any discomfort.

(Harry's relationship with Ginny had been short-lived, as Harry had decided to give her a chance when she assaulted him with a kiss in the Gryffindor common room after the match, but it was no more than that, as the boy green-eyed was never in love with her and after realizing that the youngest of the Weasleys was more than anything in love with his fame, he decided to end the relationship and stay as friends. He always saw her as the younger sister of his best friend).

"I am a witness to that. Well, I heard several making bets that one day you were going to get together, if not ask George, you know that he and Fred lived making bets. Even I bet," Neville said, a little flushed at his bet confession, noting that Harry and Hermione had also blushed quite a bit to learn they had bet on them.

"Apparently all of Hogwarts knew about it, except us," Harry said, a little sadly.

"Yes. We also knew about Hermione, you were always pretty obvious," Neville said carefully, watching his two friends blush again and compete with the Weasleys' hair.

"Not for me," Harry clarified embarrassed. "Because I was an idiot, I never realized it. Today is another story and I'm not going to let you go" he said hugging his now girlfriend and with a smile on his face.

"Do you remember when Harry broke up with Cho, because she cheated on him with that boy from the same house?" Neville asked, as he watched Hermione's eyes widen and her cheeks redden at the memory.

"When Harry told me and Hermione, Hermione was so upset that she ran to her and slapped her in the middle of the great hall," Ron recalled, laughing out loud at the memory.

"Then I told her how dare she hurt him, that Harry is the sweetest and most faithful person I've ever met. I told her that she was a cruel witch and that she didn't deserve Harry's love. You two witnessed everything behind me, but you didn't dare to intervene and yes, I accept that I was quite obvious" Hermione herself remembered, with her face on fire.

Harry smiled at the memory and hugged Hermione.

"Thank you, Hermione," the green-eyed man said, his cheeks reddening a bit.

Ron, Neville, Luna and Ginny looked at them tenderly until they decided to change the subject and enjoy the night all.

After that night between friends, Harry and Hermione had started going to the ministry together. Harry would pick up Hermione from her apartment in the morning and they would go to work together.

On Monday, when Harry knocked on Hermione's door, she opened it and gasped at the sight of Harry.

"By Merlin, I had forgotten for a moment, how extremely sexy and handsome he looked in his auror uniform, although he always looked that way, even after his missions despite how battered he came back. But it should be noted that being in front of his door, first thing in the morning, freshly bathed, smelling of his delicious cologne and in his auror uniform, it was too much. He looked incredibly handsome and sexy'' the brunette thought.

"What? Do I have something on my face?" Harry asked, bringing his hands to his face, seeing his girlfriend's expression.

"No! Not at all, it's just… you look very handsome and quite sexy in your auror uniform," said Hermione, snapping out of her reverie, blushing and biting her lip, a gesture Harry didn't go unnoticed.

The green-eyed man lowered his face, a little affected by her words, blushing and with a beautiful lopsided smile, which made the brunette's knees tremble.

"You look beautiful and sexy in your uniform too, Granger," Harry flattered gallantly, without erasing his smile. "Shall we go?" he asked, offering her his arm.

"Oh! Sure," said Hermione blushing, as she went out and closed the door.

They walked to a point where there were no prowling muggles, joined hands and disappeared towards the ministry.

Arriving at the ministry of magic, they met Ronald at its entrance and the three entered together. Hermione walked in the middle of the two men with her arms entwined with both of them. They said that they would always enter like this to be her escorts and although their friend had refused at first, she finally accepted this since she liked to walk escorted by her best friends.

Upon entering the ministry, the people who saw them enter like this knew that it was something completely natural between the three of them. After all, they were the golden trio and the heroes of the war.

Bertram Wolfgang was walking towards the entrance, he was still far enough to be noticed by the three friends, so that only he saw them and also thought that it was something usual between the three of them. All was looking good until they said their goodbyes to Ron, who made his way to the Auror department, making Bertram wonder "why Potter hadn't gone with him?"

A few seconds later, the answer to his question answered itself as Hermione pulled Harry's arm into a hidden corner. The handsome German auror got curious and leaned out the wall to see the brunette plant a kiss on Harry Potter's lips, who began to return the kiss enthusiastically, wrapping her arms around her in a rather heated kiss.

He saw them separate and they were both breathless. Then Hermione took her wand and fixed their clothes and Harry's even messier hair.

Bertram withdrew before they moved, so that neither of them realized that the auror had seen them kiss.

Disappointed, the man with blue eyes and brown hair walked through the corridors of the ministry towards his apartment, concentrating on his thoughts that his courtship towards the honey-eyed girl had never worked. He knew at that moment that he never had a chance with her, because Hermione Granger was madly in love with Harry Potter. Draco Malfoy was right.

He arrived at the disciplinary regulation's office, where he had been reporting for a few days, because after Viktor Krum challenged him in the cafeteria and they both got involved in a fight, precisely because of Hermione, the minister sent them to call to impose a punishment.

Unfortunately for him, the punishment had to be fulfilled by that smug Bulgarian, or he would be fined, and he did not want any negative stain on his file, so he agreed to his punishment.

The minister guided them to that department and ordered them to do night shifts through the different departments of the ministry of magic, today they had to go to the auror office, so he had to go get his night card.

Unfortunately, he ran into Krum who snorted when he saw him, but then the Bulgarian noticed his low mood, and without holding back asked if he was alright.

Bertram unhesitatingly revealed to him what he saw, they both fell knowing they were losers, since Viktor also let him know about his little encounter with Hermione hours ago, and both deep inside of them knew that they would never have a chance with Hermione.

In the end they both agreed to get along or tolerate each other, as they would be working together as aurors from now on.
