Washing Away the Dangerous Painting of Piracy
The Equestrian Detectives arrived at the scene where most of the weird stuff is happening which in the very neighborhood where a little girl Pinkie and Rarity knows, and they just dodge a stampede of flamingos that leaves flaming trails of footprints on the ground.
"I heard fiery footsteps, but I'm pretty sure this is not what they meant." Sunset panted.
"At least we know how to defend ourselves in case those crazy things come at us." Flash pointed out.
"Excuse me, young man." An old man walked up to Flash.
Flash reacted on instinct and splash water onto the old man though he didn't dissolve like the other weird stuff that's been going on around here, and he just realize that right now.
"Oh, I am so sorry sir! I thought you would be one of those weird things that's been happening around here." Flash apologized.
"Damn it, boy! I just got this new shirt from my nephew last week!" The old man glared at Flash.
"Well, at least you won't have to worry about the heat coming soon." Flash shrugged.
"Yeah, being in wet clothes would keep me cool." The old man said upset before walking away heading home.
"Something tells me he's not gonna want any helper for senior helping service." Flash guessed.
"We can worry about that another time." Jessica patted his shoulder.
"Come, Little Lilly's house is right there!" Pinkie pointed at the house to the right.
They walk up to the house as Pinkie rings the doorbell two times then waited for anyone to answer for a moment, two race cars zoomed past them on the street, and Lilly Pad opens the door seeing the two in front of her.
"Pinkie, Rarity?" Lilly surprised.
"Hello Lilly, darling! Hope you don't mind a little visit from us." Rarity greeted.
"A surprise visits!" Pinkie added.
"Well, I'm definitely surprise!" Lilly smiled and hugged her two babysisters.
"And you guys must be the awesome friends they told me about which also include the famous singer, Jessica Rabbit though now your last name is Rabbitry being married to Flash along with Pinkie and Sunset." Lilly mentioned.
"Well, it just has been two weeks since our sudden marriage but didn't think a bright girl like you would know about it too." Jessica impressed.
"Lilly is a LOT smarter than she looks, she even babysits me when it was supposed to be the other way around." Pinkie bragged.
"So, is there any reason you guys are here to see me?" Lilly asked.
"Funny you should ask, Lilly, you wouldn't happen to notice anything… strange happening within this neighborhood?" Rarity asked.
"Not that I can think of." Lilly said taking a second or two to think.
"Does it have something to do with your magical powers?" Lilly asked shocking most of the group.
"Pinkie, did you by any chance told Lilly out the Equestria magic when you would babysit her?" Flash asked with a slight scolding look.
"Well, I wanted to tell her an exciting story for her bedtime. So, I might've told her a story about our magical adventure." Pinkie explained.
"One story? Are you sure about that?" Flash asked as he starts tickling Pinkie.
"Okay, okay, so I've been telling her a bunch of stories about us! I'm sorry!" Pinkie apologized laughing.
"Damn it, I can never really stay mad at you." Flash chuckled and kissed Pinkie on the lips making her giggle.
"And to answer your question, it might be something let unless you haven't noticed the weird things that's been happening outside." Flash gestured to the street.
Then the flying one-eyed books came in almost hitting the group if they hadn't duck for cover.
"Oh, I guess I've been missing a lot of things while I was doing some painting." Lilly mentioned.
"You paint?" Sunset asked, this catching her interest.
"A little, just a hobby I started doing since yesterday and it's going well to help me relax which my usually relaxation is reading books." Lilly said.
"You and me both." Twilight chuckled as Spike poke his head out of her backpack and look behind.
"Guys, I think we should go inside now." Spike alerted.
The reason for Spike wanting to hurry inside Lilly's house is because there is the flock of flamingos with the burning feet running at them, the group saw this and hurry on inside before the pink birds collided silly onto the door.
"Do you think those birds forgot they can fly?" Pinkie wondered.
"Huh, those birds' kind of look like one of my paintings." Lilly said.
"They do? Can you show us these paintings?" Rarity asked as she got a hunch about this.
"Sure, follow me." Lilly nodded and walked up the stairs.
They enter Lilly's room seeing come canvas at the wall with the window with some paintings of things she did.
"Did you make these yourself?" Sunset asked.
"Yeah, but I'm not exactly into the paintings. Like I said, just a little hobby." Lilly stated.
"Well, I think they look good." Sunset complimented.
"Quick question, did you made this about flying books with one eye each?" Rainbow Dash asked showing the painting.
"Yeah, I was remembering of this cartoon show, the Owl House and saw a scene with the flying books." Lilly answered.
"The Owl House, I love that show!" Fluttershy smiled.
"Me and ma family too, too bad it's getting cancel after the second season and three special episodes." Applejack mentioned sighing.
"Dudes, these look like the flying books we've been seeing." Rainbow Dash pointed out.
"Hey, I found two more. One with the burning feet flamingo and the other with the pirate ship we saw." Pinkie showed.
"Oh dear, you don't think precious Lilly has been causing these things to appear, do you?" Rarity worried of enforcing the law onto Lilly Pad.
"But I wasn't doing anything weird, but normal painting like always." Lilly stated.
"Unless you were using something that may look normal on the outside, and strange on the inside." Jessica said as she looks around and notice a paint brush with a black and white handle.
"This paintbrush." Jessica said looking at it closely.
"Oh, that's one of mine. I've actually been using that since I started, for some reason it felt like it was talking to me from my soul which is weird." Lilly explained.
"Would you mind if I paint something with this?" Jessica asked.
"What do you have in mind, Jessica?" Flash asked.
"If this paintbrush is what I think it is then we might solve of what's been going on." Jessica said as she starts painting something with a canvas.
One minute later, she finishes making her painting and show it to everyone that it's a red bunny rabbit with a flaming fluffy tail.
"Wow, that is really good." Sunset impressed.
"Aw, it's so cute being colored red and having a cute little flame for a tail." Fluttershy smiled cutely at the painting.
Something strange happens to the canvas as a faint glow appeared around it and suddenly a ball of light popped out from behind the canvas floating around for a moment, then the light changed into the red bunny with the flaming fluffy tail as it lands on the floor.
"Whoa!" Everyone gasped of seeing the flame-tailed bunny as it hops around.
"Just as I thought, this here is a life-giving paintbrush. An item that was created by a painter long ago who wanted to bring life to his creations for the world to see, he succeeds though did it to successfully when his creation went on a rampage which almost destroyed the town, he was in." Jessica explained about the paintbrush.
"Oh man, so I really am the one who's been making these weird things happening!" Lilly worried.
"It's okay, Lilly, you didn't know what you had in your hand and I'm positive nobody is hurt." Rarity assured, then they heard a cannonball fired from outside.
"Hopefully." Rarity said.
"Lilly, where exactly did you get this paintbrush?" Jessica asked.
"It came along with the other paintbrushes from the art store." Lilly answered then another cannonball shot was heard.
"It sounds like those pirates are going to try plunging the area if we don't stop them soon." Applejack stated.
"Good thing we know how to deal with them to make this quickly." Flash said before kneeling to Lilly's eye level.
"Do you by any chance have water squirters?" Flash asked.
"Actually, I do." Lilly realized and opened her closet showing five water guns.
"They were gifts from my cousins when they came for my birthday, but I never use them because I'm not much of a water gun kind of girl." Lilly explained.
"We're also gonna need water balloons. Pinkie?" Sunset smirked at Pinkie.
"I'm almost prepared for such strange things!" Pinkie pulled out some unblown balloons from her hair.
"There is also a hose in the front yard." Lilly informed.
"Okay, not let's go make those pirates why they belong only on the sea." Flash excited to be fighting pirates.
The Equestria Detectives got all the water balloons Pinkie brought out and the water guns ready to be used as weapons, and Pinkie put on a red makeup on her cheeks like military men do when they get ready for battle.
They march to the door giving themselves a moment to be mentally ready for what's about to happen next.
"Lilly, you stay here and don't let anyone in. That goes the flamingos and pirates." Pinkie advised to the little girl.
"Okay, but would you mind taking the red bunny out too. This one is gonna burn my house down because of his tail." Lilly held the red bunny and keeping herself away from the flaming fluffy tail.
Pinkie threw a water balloon right into the red bunny making it dissolved into wet paint puddle along with splashing onto Lilly's face and hair.
"Let's move out!" Sunset kicked the door open, and they charge outside.
They saw the pirates are attacking this area of the neighborhood, breaking into people's homes and stealing things they can find valuable like a large flat-screen TV and a couch, one pirate is even taking some lawn gnomes for whatever reason they would want with lawn gnomes.
"Hey, pirates!" Flash called out getting their attention.
"You're about to get your final bath!" Flash aimed the water gun at the pirates who are confused of what he means by bath.
They soon got the answer when Flash fired a waster blast at one pirate completely dissolving him in front of his crewmates as they gasp, they quickly became angry at the young man as through raise their swords and scream in rage.
"Get the hose ready!" Jessica commanded Pinkie and Rarity as they saluted at her and went to the hose.
"Oh shoot, it's not hooked up to the wall." Pinkie shocked.
"Let just put it in then!" Rarity said as they quickly got to work on setting up the hose.
Meanwhile, Flash and the girls battle the pirates blasting them with water while dodging their swords and took cover when they were firing their cannonballs even though they are made of paint like everything else, they can deal real damage too.
"Destroy them!" The Pirate Captain shouted as his crew continues the battle.
Sunset spotted the captain and threw a water balloon at him, but the pirate captain saw the balloon coming and slash it away with his sword laughing to mock the girl's effort to take him out, but his expression change to horror when he saw his sword has been dissolved too because the sword was also paint.
"Shiver me timber, these lads are carrying witchcraft to kill us all!" The Pirate Captain gasped.
"Hey, captain bready!" Rainbow Dash called out in a mocking tone.
"Who dares called my bready!" The pirate captain angered.
"Me about to sink your ship!" Rainbow Dash answered as she spins around fast throwing water balloons all over the ship.
"AH! Abandon ship!" The pirate captain jumped off the ship and landed behind Fluttershy.
"Oh dear!" Fluttershy scared.
"Give me that magic water, now!" The pirate captain demanded.
"Actually, it's not really magic water or anything special. You're just made of magic paint that can be easy wash away by water." Fluttershy tried to explain only to make the pirate captain angry.
"Ahoo, pirate scum!" Pinkie shouted getting the pirate captain's attention.
He sees Rarity and Pinkie holding the hose aiming right at him as the fashion loving girl turn the little wheel to turn the water on, the water blast went for the pirate captain who only gasp in horror as it made contact to him and made him nothing but into a wet paint cuddle.
"Oh yeah, we kick pirates' butt!" Rainbow Dash cheered.
"Don't celebrate just yet, we still have a lot of those paint creatures to deal with." Jessica reminded her.
"We should also check the art store to see if we can find any clue about how that life-giving paintbrush got in there in the first place." Sunset suggested as Jessica nods.
"Montage Time!" Pinkie shouted of excitement.
The Equestrian Detectives drove around town a bit to find every paint creature they can find that were loose in the city, but it was a good thing Lilly didn't paint much because the search was a short while which leave them to check the art store.
They arrive at the store going inside to see if they can find anything as Jessica walked up to one of the employees.
"Excuse me, I bought some paintbrushes from this store, but found this in my bag. Does it belong to this store?" Jessica asked showing the paintbrush.
"Nope, don't recognized it. I should know because I worked here for five years now, and I know every inch of this place." The employee said.
"I see." Jessica said.
"You know, that's almost as strange seeing a the alle with the paint and paintbrushes covered in dusts for some reason." The employee mentioned which caught Jessica's attention.
"There were also those weird little things I thought might be footprints, but their almost as small as a baby." The employee said.
Jessica's eyes widen of knowing what that is and what caused the paintbrush to have been fallen in Lilly Pad's hands, she called everyone over to the paint and paintbrush section and have Spike sniff the area.
"Hey, I got a scent!" Spike said and followed it with the group following him.
They follow Spike outside and stop at a garbage dumpster pointing at the dumpster, Jessica walks to it slowly with as she pulls out a handcuff from her breasts. She opens lid of the dumpster, and something came out quickly to get away, but Flash was able to react in time to catch it showing a small white creature with pointy ears as it tries to escape from Flash's hands.
"So, we got ourselves a gremlin." Jessica said.
"Gremlin? As in the little creatures that always cause mischief wherever they go?" Rainbow Dash asked, seem to remember hearing about that.
"That's right, and it looks like this one is a mischief for art consider its covered in paint." Jessica pointed out.
"Of course, this gremlin must have been the one who left the life-giving paintbrush at the store because it wanted whoever gets that brush to cause trouble for it's amusement." Sunset figured out.
"Ah, so you must have known that Spike would be able to get his scent even though the area where it made the mess was cleaned up." Rarity realized.
"Correct, their scents aren't so easy to get rid of." Jessica nodded as she placed the handcuff ans they shrunk to fit its wrist.
"This case is now close." Sunset declared.
"Actually, there is one more thing we can do." Rarity said.
(Lilly Pad's House)
"Here you, Lilly. A new art set with color pencils, figure you would want to be away from paints for a while." Rarity handed Lilly a box full of 50 color pencils.
"Thanks, hopefully I won't have to make any weird artwork come to life." Lilly smiled.
"And if you ever need any tips on how to make a good artwork, give me a call." Sunset offered to help.
The Equestria Detectives said their goodbyes to Lilly Pad before going back to the car and drove back to the office for a job well done.
"Hmm, I just realize something." Jessica said.
"What is it?" Flash asked.
"Gremlin may like to cause trouble, but they're not that smart. The life-giving paintbrush was put away a long time ago until now." Jessica explained.
"You mean someone stole it for the gremlin?" Fluttershy asked.
"But why would anyone do that?" Applejack confused.
"That's something we're gonna have to figure out." Jessica said.

Another case has been solved for the Equestrian Detectives putting an end to an art of terror and catching the little gremlin that caused the mess, but what Jessica said may mean something later in the story.
