Secret Crisis: Battleworld Chapter 17
"Alpha to Squad, we're in the elevator en route up to the extraction point. Divert to the chopper to the roof."
"Copy that Alpha we are en route. Be advised we're picking up massive numbers of infected heading your way and on the roof. Areas too hot unless you and your team clear us a landing zone. Lobo out"
"Great." said Chris.
"What's the play Chris?" Asked Jill.
"Evac will meet us on the roof. Just gotta roll out the red carpet first"
"By roll out the red carpet, you mean fight the undead in what appears to be overwhelming odds plus a zonbified Scarlet Witch. Great!" said Zombie Hunter Spider-Man.
"I mean at least it's almost over." said Scott.
"Yeah...almost" adds Chris.
"Doesn't matter how many of those things we have to kill, I've got a team to get back to and a mission to complete. I haven't come this far to die now" said Sara.
"Well alright then. Everyone catch their breaths and get ready. Once those doors open, it's gonna be a hell of a fight." said Chris.
The elevator continued to Ding up every floor as the roof level was reached. The doors slowly opened to bodies laying everywhere and blood spilt on the floor.
"Oh Jesus." said Chris.
"We gotta keep moving." said Jill taking point with Chris by her side.
Chris and Jill checked all corners while the rest of the team followed.
"Anyone got eyes on any infected?" Asked Chris.
"I'm not picking up anything" said Zombie Hunter Spider-Man.
The team reached the landing zone killing some straggler zombies preparing to set up the landing zone.
"Alpha to Squad, we reached the landing zone. Take us home." ordered Chris.
"Copy that Alpha, we are en route. ETA three minutes." said Umber Eyes.
Just then, slams from a door blasted open. Smoke was clearing with Zombie Scarlet Witch emerging.
"Might wanna double time that!" shouts Chris aiming his assault rifle.
Zombie Wanda let's our a screech to order the horde to attack.
"HOLD THEM OFF!!!" shouts Chris as he and Jill opened fire.
Meanwhile elsewhere,
Back on the Waverider, Layla gave the coordinates to the Deadlands as they were approaching its entry point.
"This is it?" Asked Ava.
"Yes. Kang used this place to fill it with the undead as a place of punishment for crimes against him." Explained Layla.
"So we're dealing with Zombies?" Asked Marc.
"Wouldn't be our first time" adds Ava.
"It's always gotta be bloody zombies" said Constantine.
"So how are we supposed to find Sara in a city of the dead?" Asked Peter-3.
"Maybe I can help" said Kara.
"We" adds Earth-1 Kara.
The two Supergirls nodded and made their way to the front window of the ship to get a lay of the dead land.
They managed to find the remnants of Avengers tower with Sara and the others fighting for their lives against a horde of the undead led by a Zombie Scarlet Witch.
"Oh no" said Kara.
"What is it?" Asked Ava beginning to Panic.
"I found her. It's not looking good."
Ava then makes a beeline for the captain's chair and puts the ship into overdrive.
"Hang on babe. I'm coming."
Chris was firing from his assault rifle, Jill from her handgun, Sara slicing and impaling from her sword while Zombie Hunter Spidey webbed up and held back the undead with Scott using his robot body to activate flamethrowers to burn the undead at bay.
The team was being pushed back to back with the undead circling around them..
"Alpha to Squad. Where the hell are you?!"
Chris then punches a zombie, as Jill hits a roundhouse kick to another. Sara frantically slicing her sword to create some breathing room as Scott and Peter held them off as best they could.
"GET DOWN!!!" shouts Tundra
The evac chopper arrives with the side door opening with the rest of Hound Wolf Squad evening the odds.
"GET YOUR ASSES ON BOARD NOW!!!" shouts Umber Eyes.
Everyone frantically makes a break for the chopper, running through the gunfire.
"MOVE IT PEOPLE!!" shouts Chris getting the others on board.
"Shit. Captain?!" shouts Canine
Chris then turned his attention to Zombie Wanda who was getting angry and started to screech again.
"Lobo, Canine, Umber Eyes, Tundra, Night Howl on me!" shouts Chris.
Tundra puts the evac vehicle on auto pilot as she joins the team in engaging Zombie Wanda.
The team all opened fire with Wanda using her magic in one hand to take control of their guns.
Jill gets her attention by firing at Wanda.
"Wait I got an idea." said Scott as he jumps out the chopper.
"Scott? What are you doing?" Asked Zombie Hunter Spider-Man.
"KEEP GRABBING HER ATTENTION!!" shouts Scott.
He runs over to the distracted Zombie Wanda and begins to burn her with his flamethrower.
This angers her as she uses her powers to hold him in place while calling another horde to swarm him.
As they tear apart his robot body, the cape from Zombie Hunter Spider-Man flies in to sweep his head up and fly him back to the others. However Wanda catches them with her magic as Spider-Man uses his webs to try to pull them back over.
"GUYS A LITTLE HELP?!"
Sara then pulls in Peter to help. Meanwhile Umber Eyes fires at Wanda freeing her grip, giving Zombie Hunter Spider-Man the chance to swing after Scott to get him back aboard. He does so as he gets the cape to fly them back inside after being tossed by Spider-Man. As Peter was about to swing back on, Zombie Wanda makes his web shooters dissappear, making him unable to thwip back on as he was essentially about to fall to his demise.
Seeing this however caused Sara to get flashes of memories of her Spider-Man's death and how she failed to save him. Failing her promise to watch his back.
"NO!"
She shouts and rushed over to grab his hand to catch him as he's dangling off from the edge.
"I GOT YOU!" she assured him.
Sara pulls and heaves Peter back on board. But hope was starting to fade with Zombie Wanda using magic to hold the rotors in place as the undead began to head for them.
"KEEP EM BACK!" ordered Chris.
Sara then grabs her sword and gets an idea.
She leaps off the ship and lands in front of the horde.
"COME AND GET ME!!!"
The sword ignites as it's raised in the air. Sara waves it in front of Wanda grabbing her attention.
Wanda and the Zombie horde roar at the flame.
"Yeah that's it. THIS WAY!!!! COME AND GET ME!!!!"
Sara runs across the roof as she draws their attention.
"Captain! We gotta go now!" shouts Night Howl
"NO! We leave no one behind.
"Captain! I'm picking up another aircraft incoming.
Chris looks out to see the arrival of the Waverider closing in, firing its guns onto the undead horde.
The two Supergirls fly out to offer air support using their heat vision.
"What the hell?" Asked Chris.
"You wouldn't happen to know where Sara Lance is right?" Asked Kara.
"She's drawing their attention but she needs help. Especially from her!" said Jill pointing to Zombie Wanda.
"Oh no. We got a Zombie Scarlet Witch out here!" shouts Kara.
"I got her" said Bloodsport assembling a sniper rifle out of his Nano tech. He aims his scope.
He fired a shot going clean through Wanda's skull, dropping her.
"The Witch is down" said Bloodsport confirming the kill.
Then the Karas blasted the remaining zombies with heat vision cleaning the roof for good.
Sara looked on to see not one but TWO Supergirls along with the Waverider.
She then sees Barry zoom Ava onto the landing pad as they ran back to each other's arms and embraced each other with a kiss.
"I assume that you both need a minute?" Asked Chris.
"Who are you?" Asked Ava.
"Chris Redfield. Was just about to give your girl a ride out of here but by the looks of it, she's back with the people she belongs with."
"I guess this is goodbye" Sara.
"And a good luck on your mission." said Jill.
"Wait!"
Zombie Hunter Spider-Man leaps down with the help of his cape, to give Sara a goodbye hug.
"I owe big time. I know I'm not your Peter, but of I was, I'd be thankful to have a friend like you looking after me. Watching my back. I hope you see each again someday."
Sara then gave a tighter hug in response.
"Stay safe out there Spidey. All of you. And thanks." said Sara.
"You too Lance" said Jill.
Sara watched as Hound Wolf Squad and Jill fly off and away from the Deadlands for good along with Scott and Zombie Hunter Spider-Man.
"Sara. C'mon. We still have a mission to do." said Barry.
Sara takes a deep breath and turned to her team.
"Next stop, Kang's Fortress!"
