Chapter 20:
Searching Mount Aris - Part 3:
Twilight's Water and Nature Magic
After Twilight and Spike have rescued and freed Rarity and Fluttershy and introduced them to Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, the Mane 5 and Spike continued on their search for Marina and Gaia, with Rarity and Fluttershy leading the way. During their investigation, they had a lot of encounters with Slash's forces, Dreadwings, and even giant Armadillo-like creatures. But Twilight and her friends used their elemental powers to defeat these encounters, as for the giant Armadillo-like creatures, Fluttershy calmed them down with her soothing motherly-like voice.
It wasn't long until they found out they were only halfway to the castle to find Gaia and Marina. Ahead of them, are three waterwheels with Ape Soldiers on canons guarding them.
"We're going to have to use the waterwheels to get ahead," Twilight told the group.
"Oh, it's never easy, is it?" Spike asked with a groan.
"Like Twilight said: "Nothing Worthwhile ever is"," Pinkie reminded.
"Fluttershy and I got this. Come along darling," Rarity said to Fluttershy as she and the yellow Alicorn walked towards the waterwheels to handle the guards.
"While they're handling those guys, Rainbow, and Pinkie come with me. We'll find the blocks to get those waterwheels moving," Twilight said, turning to Pinkie and Rainbow, who nodded as they walked along to find the blocks to get them moving.
Fluttershy and Rarity worked their magic on their enemies. Fluttershy used her Nature Magic and made vines appear and tangled the guards on the cannons up. While Rarity used her Water Magic to cause the canons to crumble. Twilight, Pinkie, Rainbow Dash, and Spike searched the area for the blocks and when they found one, they jumped on the blocks and the waterwheels started moving again. Of course, they did have a few encounters with the small soldiers, which Twilight easily defeated with her Electric and Air Magic.
When they reached the third and final waterwheel and got it moving again, along with dealing with some weird Coral-giant creatures, the gate finally opened for them and the Mane 3 walked through now they can walk ahead to continue their search.
But when they were about to move on, they heard a noise and looked up to see Queen Novo and Skystar being backed up to the edge of a waterfall by more of those Stone-Giant creatures. Queen Novo backed up a bit more until she was really close to the edge.
"QUEEN NOVO!" Twilight shouted.
But it was too late as Queen Novo looked back and screamed as she fell down the waterfall and was floated down unconsciously.
"MOM!" Skystar shouted in horror, reaching out for her mother as she turned back to the Coral Giants walking up towards her.
Twilight and her friends looked at Queen Novo floating down to another waterfall and Skystar being in danger. They know they have to do something fast.
"Oh, this is not good. Look I know she may be a bit of an ingrate but ya gotta do something and fast!" Spike told Twilight in urgency.
"What if I do this!" Twilight suggested as her horn started glowing a blue color, and then suddenly, water was shot out of her horn and into the river where Queen Novo was floating.
When the water reaches the river, Queen Novo wakes up and found herself to have been stopped. She looked behind herself and saw that there was a blob of water stopping her from going down the waterfall again.
"What the-? You used Water Magic?" Rarity asked, being surprised as the others as they turned to Twilight who was just as surprised as they are.
"Um…can I get a little help here, too?" Skystar asked, the Mane 6 and Spike looked up to see her still being confronted by the Coral-Giants.
Twilight lit up her again, but this time, it lit up a light green color, and suddenly, huge vines grew rapidly from the trees and tangled the Stone-Giants in their grasp.
"Sis, you are getting weirder and weirder by the second," Spike commented as Twilight nodded her head in agreement.
"Indeed, how did you learn to master Water and Nature like that?" Rarity asked in amazement.
"Yeah, I mean first you've mastered Electricity and Air. Now you've mastered Water and Nature? How is that even possible?" Pinkie asked, just as confused and surprised as Rarity.
"I don't know. But I have a feeling that after we rescue Gaia and Marina, they might help me master these new elemental magical powers," Twilight suggested.
"Speaking of which, which way to them now?" Rainbow Dash asked, turning to Fluttershy and Rarity for directions.
"We're getting close, the castle is just this way. Come along now," Rarity said, leading the way once more.
"Right behind you, Rarity," Spike said, following behind her.
