Stormwind in Anduin's Room…
The servants were grooming his wings as they were molting slightly.
It felt great as he purred a little bit. Varian thought it was cute when his son did that, pondering more and more on what powers his son had within him. The more he discovers them, the less he felt he could understand them. The Alliance wanted to have everything new about the boy jotted down and studied. This was something of a bit of the unknown country, a boy becoming a demigod out of the blue with magic beyond unidentified. Because of his growing power, he became more and more clumsy and do things that were surprising, like collecting follows through his own blood.
"Of course, Anduin would have disciples," Varian muttered to himself as he was reading more about Gods and Demigods, which wasn't much.
"I never thought I could do something like this. I feel very guilty about tying Halsand and Liam to me without their consent." Anduin frowned a bit as he didn't want to enslave anyone.
"You didn't know, and you saved Liam's life. You won't be enslaving them, but they will be there to protect you." Varian argued as he knew Anduin is a good soul and these powers were still, "There is also the prospect of giving them powers as well. It could come in handy in the future."
The young prince then looked out the window, thinking about the odd things that were happening to him.
"Anduin, son?" Varian wondered as he came towards the prince who was still sobbing.
"It hurts... It hurts... It hurts..." He muttered over and over.
"I know but look, they're wings. You grew wings and they are beautiful." Varian comforted his son as he lulled him to sleep.
Once the prince fainted from the pain, the priest stepped forward.
"Arrange for warm water for the prince and have the servants bring the softest towels. It is best that he is not hurt."
The knight bowed as he left while the priest began to examine the blood-covered wings.
The king will no doubt seek answers and so will the rest of the Alliance. But for now, they needed to take care of the boy who grew wings.
…
The pain was gone, but his back felt a little heavier he felt something tickle him. The prince of Stormwind then looked to his back to see what it was as he felt sore. Anduin was surprised to see what it was, a set of wings. Small, feathery, and attached to his back. His left wing was white and sparkly like pearls, while the right was as black as night with no other colors.
…
Did he grow wings?
He heard the door creak open and turned his head to see his father, Varian, who brightened up to see his son was awake.
"Thank the Light, Anduin are you okay?" Varian grinned as he came to the child's side.
"I'm okay, Dad. The pain is gone but why do I have wings? There weren't there before." Anduin wondered to his father.
"You grew them. That's why you were in so much pain, they sprouted from your back. We made sure neither you nor your wings were hurt after we cleaned you up." Varian explained to his boy.
"Am I... An angel?" Anduin wondered as he sat up in bed while Varian smiled with pride.
He always knew his son was the embodiment of good, the ball of sunshine brought to Stormwind. He brought joy and hope to everyone he meets, and his gentle voice can win over anyone. Now, when he calls Anduin an angel, he can prove it too.
"It seems to be. But you are always an angel." Varian marveled as he wanted all of Azeroth to see this beauty, to show his son off.
Anduin giggled as they hugged for the first time since his wings grew. Varian will have the mages to find out how Anduin grew wings and what it meant for his child. Well, he will first have his child become accustomed to his wings and have the seamstress remake his clothing suited for his wings.
"Well…" Varian wondered as they completed their examination.
…
"It is true, the prince is indeed a Demigod in the making," Velen confirmed as he patted the boy's head.
"I am? So, then what can I do?" Anduin wondered as he was kicking his legs into their air.
"We do not know but we must be very careful. We don't know what powers you have." Tyrande warned.
"How can this little ball of sunshine be dangerous?" Wyll Benton chuckled as he loved the cute little wings.
"Yeah, I don't see myself as strong as Dad or Bolvar-."
VOLT!
A powerful Light energy was summoned by his hands as it broke through many, many walls until it reached outside the kingdom, leaving gaping holes and startled staff and warriors! His hand was still steaming as everyone slowly turned to the boy in shock while the prince was stunned. Anduin quickly put his hand in his lap and his face turned red.
"Oopsies…"
"By the Light, what the hell was that?" A knight wondered as he peeked through the hole.
"Um… Check to see if everyone is alright." Varian ordered, still stunned by the magic his son can do.
"Maybe we should talk somewhere else before your son brings the castle down." Tyrande advised as Anduin was bashful.
…
Anduin never felt so free before in his life!
His wings finally grew large enough to fly and he was experiencing everything that all men have dreamed of. The clouds were touched by his fingertips as the sun felt so warm. This was like something of a fantasy as he did tricks and spins in the air, even dive bombs with grace and skills. The people below were secretly watching as they were in awe of the prince, he truly was an angel, one that fell to them from the heavens.
Some of the feathers gently fell as many tried to grasp them as a memento or something to sell on the market.
"Come along, your highness! Your father wants you for supper for once on time!" One of the servants called from the sky as Anduin returned to the castle.
He hoped he landed better than last time as he caused a little bit of damage to the cinderblocks in the garden, which really was better than last time. His wings were out like that of a swan then closed back up as he stumbled back to the servant.
"Careful, not want to twist your ankle. How was your flight?"
"It was perfect, I loved swirling the clouds and the sun. I never felt so warm and so alive."
"I can't imagine… Well, let's get you back to the dining room before your father throws a fit."
Anduin nodded as they left, leaving the other servants to clean up the mess.
…
"Oops! Sorry! Look out! I am so sorry! Whoops! Are you okay! Oops!"
It was easy to tell who it was that was coming. The prince was still adjusting to the new size of his wings and their collective strength. The boy grew stronger every day since his wings first surfaced, but control was key to great strength, and he had not learned how, yet. He sure made a path that needed some much tended to, the sweet-hearted boy needed to learn his powers if he would control, or it would cause more problems for everyone. But will the king let his son go and learn to become what he needed to be?
Anduin finally made his way to the table, where he finds Velen, Tyrande, Malfurion, and the Demigod Cenarius joining them. Anduin the prince of Stormwind has never met other Demigods before and Cenarius was one of the legends. He has done it before even his first ancestor was born and created things that were considered myths. He even stood up against the demons long ago. He felt honored and a bit intimidated to be in the presence of such a benevolent force of good.
"So, you are the one known as Anduin. Such a magnificent creature you are, with powers even older than me… quite puzzling. Especially since you are so young, in species and age. You are quite a mystery, young one." The deer man commented as Anduin blushed a bit.
"Um… T-thank you, Sir." The young prince skittishly muttered as he blushed a bit, curling his wings a little closer to himself.
"Show more confidence, Boy! As a prince and Demigod, you should show some pride in being what and who you are!" Cenarius boastfully told the boy who jumped a bit.
"O-okay."
…
Anduin gasped and abruptly dropped his fork onto the tablecloth, gaining everyone's attention. The face he made; it was like he was in a trance.
"Anduin?" Varian called to his son.
'Help us… Please help us…'
Cenarius gasped as Anduin was walking closer to the window.
"I'm… coming… I hear you…"
Anduin was in a hypnotized state as his wings opened forward and destroyed the glass, forcing everyone to cover their faces!
"Anduin, wait!"
But the boy already flew out the window.
…
The skies were a symphony of birds as some of them were accidentally knocked out of the sky and flopped to regain their flight.
There was a demigod was flying at speeds that weren't even possible as the flying creatures were trying to get out of his way. Anduin, in trance by a prayer from the City of Gilneas. He was a blur in the sky as the ships and horses chasing him were unable to catch up to him. But none of that matters to the Prince of Stormwind as he answered the call of the prayer was luring him like a lullaby in the night. He needed to save them, he needed to help them, must help them, it was all he thought about.
'Help us… Please help us…'
'Anyone, please… We're going to die…'
'The monsters… the undead…'
'It hurts… it hurts so bad…'
"I am on my way… Hold on…" Anduin promised them in a dazed tone.
…
Something held the blade with two fingers with ease. The girl was stunned while the Abomination was just shocked. The beast tried to move his meat cleaver, but it was stuck in place. The soul that has caused such a surprise was nothing more than a blond boy with a pair of wings, black and white on his back. He seemed to be in a daze, but the Abomination soon recover from his shock and tried to punch the boy!
The wings, however, were not in favor of much of an assault and blew him away!
The girl gasped at the sight of the boy's great power.
"Who are you?" She asked him, but the boy did not answer as he was in some sort of trance.
All she could hear from him was, "I'm here…. I'll save you…"
Then before she could react, the boy with wings flew into the air, above the city within the massive walls, then began to heavily flap them! The power of the wings was able to summon a maelstrom, causing the invading Forsaken to be flung away as the living were holding on! Their own ships were even pushed away by the massive tides as the invading Forsaken, were no longer invading.
The boy then flew back down and collapsed by the side of a building where the girl was. There was a quiet, an uneasy quiet as the people of Gilneas were trying to understand what has happened. A boy with wings came out of nowhere and blew the Forsaken away, all in one swoop like it was nothing.
…
Everything seemed so weird.
He felt like he didn't even know who he was anymore.
"…Do you think Cenarius and Velen could help me learn more about… myself?" Anduin wondered.
"I think they can point you in the right direction. As much as I hate it… this is something out of our element, we know nothing of Demigods or your powers. But they do. As much as I want to keep you here, you need to know about yourself and what you can be. But know you are still my son and the prince and Stormwind will forever be your home. Promise me once you find your answers, you come home." Varian consoled his son.
"I promise…"
The two of them hugged as neither wanted to let go, the servants dodging the wings as they didn't want to get hurt again.
They then heard knocking on the door.
It was Velen.
"It is time."
Outside the Castle…
Riding on his sweet little horse, Reverence, Anduin with the Prophet and the other Demigod would be leaving Stormwind.
Varian was certain he got everything he needed, including a means of communication. He wanted to check in on his son every day.
"If anything goes wrong, alert me right away."
"I promise."
One more hug and the three were soon off.
