Chapter 12
My screams echoed down the hallway of the hospital. Kakashi had found me in the street, clutching my stomach and brought me here.
"Your contractions are happening too fast." Explained a concerned Tsunade, "We have to start pushing. Shizune, go and get me the blankets."
I began to pant as the pain took away my breath, the gas and air barely lessening it. How do women go through this? My legs were pushed apart but I was in too much agony to feel any embarrassment.
"Okay Sasuke, I'm gonna need you to listen to me carefully" said a calm Tsunade, I answered with a shout through gritted teeth as I felt another contraction hit me, "I'm going to count to three and when I get to three, you're going to have to give a really hard push, okay?"
I gave a faint nod, groaning as I bit the tube of the gas and air for distraction. Shizune came back into the room carrying the correct equipment for the procedure. The towel was placed below me and the blankets were put to one side. I notice her fill up a tub of some sort which must be to wash the baby in.
I look at Tsunade and she gives me a small reassuring smile.
"Okay Sasuke. One . . . Two . . . Three"

"Naruto-Kun? Are you alright?" Asked Hinata. I didn't answer. I was too worried about Sasuke. The shock and hurt on his face when I had slapped him just keeps running through my mind. My arm had moved before I had control of it. I massage my temples as I release a heavy sigh. I turn and face Hinata who has a worried expression on her face. Hinata? It just seems so weird that someone so innocent can do something so evil. I just don't get it. I give her a small smile and she gets up to go talk to Kiba. I release a sigh again and I finish my drink. I notice that the waitress hadn't taken away Sasuke's half-finished tomato juice, the redness of it was slightly lighter than his usual. That's strange . . . I had never heard Sasuke give a special order. It's either the alcohol getting to me or it's a different carton of juice.
For some reason, I find myself dipping my finger into the thick crimson liquid. I held it front of me, watching droplets slide down my finger. I felt disgust at how Sasuke can drink so much of this. Then again, he probably feels the same about me and ramen. I started to feel a small burn where the juice had met my skin after a few minutes and I quickly wiped my finger on my shirt. Frowning in confusion, I inspected my finger. The skin was red and I realize that if I had left it any longer, the skin would've come off. I wasn't allergic to tomatoes so I was pretty puzzled as to what brought this on.
Surely this wasn't poisoned . . . Was it? It must be my imagination.
I shot up just as Hinata came back to my booth. I was going to leave the bar in search for Sasuke. I had to apologize.
"Wait, Naruto-Kun!" She shouted as she grabbed my arm, "Where are you going?"
What a stupid question.
"To find Sasuke" I reply monotonously, I was too upset and the alcohol wasn't helping. I was also angry that one of my friends would try to hurt my family. When will this stop? This was supposed to be a celebration, not a hunting ground.
"B-But you can't leave," Hinata started before stopping herself, "I mean, I'm sure Sasuke can take care of himself. We haven't even fully celebrated yet"
I turn around to head towards the exit when she grabbed the sleeve of my jacket again. Why is she so adamant for me to stay? I looked at her suspiciously. No . . . No, it can't be Hinata.
She began dragging me to her table but I shook her loose and left the bar.
I had to find Sasuke.

I had gone back to our house but Sasuke wasn't there. I also asked a few familiar faces in the streets but no one had seen him. I was becoming frustrated and I couldn't think of a single place where Sasuke would be. He doesn't have any hang-out spots or places he favors. I rounded the corner in a small fury and I crash into Kakashi. I fell onto the ground and I look up to see his one eye arched slightly, showing me his laughing smile.
"Hey, Naruto," he said, helping me up as the mocking up-turned lips through his mask began to irritate me. The smile soon dropped into a questioning look, as if he'd just remembered something, "Shouldn't you be at the hospital with Sasuke?"
My eyes widened at what this could mean.
He can't be . . . It's a month too early. I became angry again at how Sasuke didn't call me.
Before I could answer Kakashi, I rushed towards the hospital, muttering a silent prayer that everything will be alright.

"One last push, Sasuke!" Shouted Tsunade. I was too tired. My body was drained of any energy I had left. I manage to sit myself up slightly and I give one last forceful push.
My head turned towards the doorway, gasping for breath. That's when I notice a head full of blonde hair and a panicked look on it's owner's face.
That's when I also notice . . . That the room was silent . . . And that my baby wasn't crying . . .
