The giants and the Dinosaurs
"Okay, so, who's staying, who's hunting and who's with me?" Luffy asked the crew as Jinbe and Yamato shrugged.
"Sanji, I'm going for a hunt." Zoro said as he went as Luffy palmed his face. However, he did accept it. Zoro does rarely get lost when he uses his Haki. Vivi sighed. It seems like the last time for Luffy, as he smiled nostalgically at this.
"Well, I'll be going with Luffy it seems." Vivi said only for Yamato to give her a warning look, "Not like that." She replied as Karoo quacked and Luffy laughed at the duck. Sanji sighed at this.
"I'm going on a walk.." Sanji said only for Luffy to smile at him. "Is there something you want to say?"
"Yeah, if you do find an odd looking house, feel free to kick ass and sabotage the Intel." Luffy told Sanji who had a mischievous look, "I knew it. That's why you are the third mate!"
"More like third rated mate..." Zoro grumbled only for Sanji to speak in an unknown tongue, "I can't understand this tongue of yours!"
"Not even Nico Robin can, and she knows Every spoken language!" Jinbe commented as Luffy shook his head. "I know of her. The more I see it, she's not one bit what I did expect. For once, he abilities are not that destructive, which means..."
"She got framed?" Nami asked as Zoro gave her a thumbs up and a smile.
"That's expected from our second smartest person!" Luffy replied as Nami huffed, "I say we save Robin, that way you get someone smarter to match intellect."
"Luffy surely have a way with words." Johnny whispered.
"More like he's a silver tongued!" Yusaku replied as Nojiko bumped them both.
"Stop badmouthing our captain and pull your weight! Ussop, is there any repairs?" Nojiko asked as the sniper shook his head. "Zoro, bring more meat.. And do not forget Laboon's share."
"Might as well go to the sea so I can hunt a Sea King!" Zoro replied sarcastically only for his crew mates to nod at him and he sighed, "Fuck you Murphy! Fuck your Mother, Sisters, Aunts, Grandmas, Cousins, and most of all, Fuck you Murphy and your big ass dumbass punkass bitch mouth that invented a law as your own asshole."
"Who the fuck is Murphy?" Sanji asked in total confusion.
"Never seen Zoro swear this much.. Or anyone, and I know an entire Pirate Crew, and a Marine!" Luffy added. "Not even Grandpa!"
"Luffy, what are going to do here in the ship?" Gin asked curiously.
"Well, Do not be afraid of Giants, they are friendly, but be warned, I detect intruders in the island..., And something... A beast that is not quite a bird nor a croc, but... Mostly a bird..." Luffy said as Jinbe gave him a raised eyebrow.
"Nami, do you have a dinosaur encyclopedia?" Jinbe asked as the Navigator showed them a book. Luffy immediately flipped through the pages until he found a dinosaur...
"This one, but larger arms, long claws, and it does have feathers. And it is smart.." That was alarming.
"How smart?" Usopp asked worriedly as Luffy sighed.
"As smart as an eagle." Uh-oh! A super predator with brains is a terrifying prospect. "I need a book about old animals..."
"Huh?" Vivi asked as he shrugged.
"Since when do you even read books?" Yamato asked as Luffy shrugged again.
"Fine, go on! As long as you don't put Vivi's life in danger..." Nami said as Luffy nodded nervously. That was not a good sign.
"I won't. She's... A very precious person to all of us.. Like an Aunt or a sister..." Luffy replied seldomnly as Nami grinned at him.
"That's our captain. He might be the youngest, but he's also our father.." Nami said as Jinbe laughed.
"I thought I was the father, no?" Jinbe asked as Luffy smiled.
"Wisdom? Yes. Protecting the crew is not as much as me... I would die if it means you all live..." Luffy replied seriously as Zoro stopped and sighed.
"I know already brother... I know..." The tone was heavy with guilt, but he did not want to tell them. How could he?
"Luffy, here's your Bento, and be careful!" Sanji said as he went with Zoro. Just in case the green haired man had something to tell him.
With Luffy
"I'm impressed you knew... Paleo anthology of all things Vivi.." Luffy said as the princess smiled at the compliment. "What's your favorite theropod?"
"Well, Alabasta used to have many, but any that can swim and is as large as a Tyrant I guess?" Vivi replied as Luffy smirked.
"Mine's are the monsters of the southern parts." Luffy replied as Vivi chuckled while Karoo quacked. "Oh? An omnivorous sauropod, huh? If it tries to even think about eating you... It will die. If not, I will spare it." Then his eyes widened as he jumped upward and stopped an axe from cutting off the Sauropod. "I'm sorry, Kyojin-Ochan, but it is not wise to hunt them. Their meat is not as delicious as Sea Kings!"
"Eeeeeeeehhhhhh?" Vivi replied smartly.
In the Merry
"A giant?" Nami asked in terror.
"Hello, old man. So, here for some sake?" Jinbe asked as he sighed, "Please knock that T-Rex behind you. They are no longer, existing anywhere else."
"Oh I see. Thank Odin and Ymir there is a pirate with a conscious!" The rotund giant grinned. While he was a fierce warrior, he was also a decent person.
"So, did you see any smart dinosaur?" Yamato asked curiously as he smiled.
"Well, there is a feathered one, and it tends to not attack humans, which meant they don't see your kind as prey, or know that you are sapient like them." The giant laughed at them when they blinked. "Well, any idea of what I should hunt?"
"Considering your size, and how you knocked out a dinosaur with a flicker? I would say Sea Kings, and bare handed..." Gin replied seriously as the giant sighed.
"Alas, I am no longer that young... But I think I can, if a friend of mine is willing to help..."
With Zoro
"Why are you not killing Any of these, leaf-head?" Sanji complimented in indignation.
"You total idiotic foolish moronic stupidity incarnate! If we hunt them, then who would believe us when we tell the world of the living dinosaurs?" Zoro replied angrily. "And even if we don't tell anyone, one day, we will find the most trustworthy of people, who can keep their mouths shut, to log this!"
"Oh I see.. Seems like you are not the run of the mill dumb brute, huh? No, you are a forever lost, philosophical brute... And a raw meat-head." Sanji replied as Zoro snorted.
"I haven't forgotten to Never eat a lemon tart nor cream from you... Hell, even the milk I do not trust anymore!" Zoro replied seriously, "You need to get married, but then.. Well, I wish you luck. Oh, and if I were you? I'd start chewing something rancid sometimes..."
"The hell are you talking about?" Sanji asked as Zoro saw a few figures and smirked evilly.
"Not now, let's kick their asses all over the coast..." Zoro replied quietly as Sanji gave him a look, "Look aside, when we fight the two women..."
"Oi, no harming.." Sanji begun only for Zoro to glare at him.
"This will kill you! But think about Vivi!" That made the other man shut up. "And I know that you're sticking to your father, the real one's, teachings, but this will only put you, and especially the crew in danger at the long run. Look at our captain, he doesn't care who is our enemy, he just beat the life out of them..." Zoro said before his eyes widened in horror as he remembered Exactly how Luffy awakened his powers, "How did I forget about that detail?"
"What detail?" Sanji asked as Zoro sighed.
"Look, whatever it is, this is a secret, not mine to tell, it's Luffy's." Zoro replied as he sighed. He remembered how Luffy took down the lives of the Marines that killed their crew... Burning them with plasma of all things after they fell into the pit of rubber, said rubber turned into freaking plasma, as in the same plasma that exists on stars like the sun. How did his powers turned from Paramecia to Logia was beyond him, but after they reached Laugh Tale, and somehow Luffy managed to read the fact that his powers are from the Sun God Nika.. It now makes total sense. He prayed that Luffy's powers would not put their lives in danger... Although, he was wondering about what else did change?
Amazon Lily
"Hebihime, are you sure that it was a good idea?" Nyon-Baa asked Hancock who giggled. "Don't tell me you're already in love with someone you didn't even meet yet? First you becoming much kinder, and taking all these raids to increase our power, but this is a whole entire level nyon."
"Well, Nyon-Baa, I know something that none of you do... And besides, I have the perfect idea about many things I need to be prepared for." Hancock replied, even if she looked at the end of her teenage years, the beginning of her young adulthood, she was in fact 29 mentally... More or less. Although, physically she did not look one day older than eighteen years old.
"Anee-sama, why did you insist on meeting that girl last month?" Sandersonia asked curiously.
"You mean you didn't ask her about why she struck that deal with her? You're... Strange, Sonia-nee-sama." Marigold asked as Hancock giggled again.
"Wanna hear the secret?" Hancock asked as the three of them nodded, "Why, I'm thinking of getting betrothed to someone who will be the pirate king."
"Eeeeeeeehhhhhh?!" Three voices asked as their eyes bulged out of proportion and their tongues were an entire yard out of their mouths which were open like a huge sac. At the sight, which was the funniest thing she ever saw, Hancock held her stomach in laughter. Oh that was priceless.
Grand Line
"Captain, are you sure this is a good idea?" Alvida asked Bartolomeo who smirked at her. Gambia and Apis were now shaking their heads.
"Why Alabasta? I mean, it's so hot and Sandy and... You get the idea." A voice said.
"Heh, I thought you agreed on the entire getting me there without objection, Buggy." Bartolomeo replied sarcastically as he did what could be described as the pinnacle of savagery : Taking over the entire Buggy Pirates Big Top, which enraged their captain, until the barrier user gathered them all in a huge barrier that almost crushed them together.
"Point taken, we'll keep our mouth shut." Moegi replied and Richie growled only for Apis to throw a steak at the lion who ate it gratefully.
"Not even your own pet is safe from your idiocy. How did any of you sail beyond the East Blue is beyond me." Alvida scolded. " I mean, it's clear that the poor lion is suffering from you! Seriously, if you couldn't feed him, why keeping him at all?"
"He said that it's better than the wild..." Apis replied as Gambia was now at the end of his ropes.
"Not even the lion have any guts on this crew?" That made Buggy's pirates officially the opposite of the Straw Hats.
Little Garden
Ussop was smiling contently as Jinbe and Yamato beaten up the five pairs, and the three pairs. Well, more like Yamato used her Haki and Jinbe threw them overboard and dived with a rope to tie them up... However, only Miss Golden Week was unaffected, although she was the only one to pass out from Yamato's burst of Haki.
And so, the crew begun their adventure in Little Garden, and they were astonished by the sheer scale of the entire island. Although, the feathery dinosaur which was a terrifying "monster" was currently talking with Luffy, who was now having stars in his eyes. Then, the Captain smiled as he then flared his Haki, which almost knocked out both Johnny and Yusaku, but apart from that, even Usopp was Barely affected.
"You two improved a lot. Last time you were out cold." Luffy joked as the two giants now looked at him with wander.
"Kid, are you aspiring to be a king?" Groggy asked curiously.
"I was a king.. Well, would be... I guess?" Luffy replied as Broggy laughed.
"To see a time traveler... This is one amazing day." Groggy even chuckled at the joke.
"I remember back then when someone said that he's the heir of Joy boy." That made the entire crew, including Zoro and Sanji who had just arrived, laugh. Although, Zoro's was sad and dark.
"I know him... He used to be a very happy fellow, and wherever he goes, he fights for justice, true justice. Alas, he lost a lot..." That made Yamato unconsciously stroke Luffy's back. They did not notice the ears and eyes on the trees, and while some did, Luffy shook his head at them. The crew now knew enough about their captain to know that if there is any threat, he would have acted.
"So, tell me son, who won between me and the lanky one?" Groggy asked, in a whispering tone, Luffy who chuckled.
"You two had a draw at the end, although, Hajuradin and his crew arrived to stop you two and assemble the giants." Luffy replied as they both sighed.
"From what I say, little son, you can not lie. End this duel, or do we still fight?" Broggy asked as Groggy smirked at this question.
"Thought you would never ask. Let's have a friendly fight, no swords, no shields, just our bare hands and limbs be the judge. If we lose for another year, let's get home..." That made the entire crew smile at their mutual agreement. "To end a duel to a draw.. That's unheard of, unless we are of equal power."
"Maybe you two are? Maybe you two care about each other more than you do to your own self?" Vivi asked and they both nodded at her.
"Of course they do. Brothers sure fight each other, but there is no ill will between them.. Most of the times." Nami replied as Nojiko ruffled her hair. "Noji!"
"Can't resist my cute little sister..." Nojiko replied as Nami sighed helplessly. Yamato laughed at this. Siblings are something else alright, and for once, Luffy had all of his siblings and alive. Well, about that, she swore that she would make sure that both Ace and Sabo do meet again, or rather, it was her and Luffy's secret oath.
"What can you do about older brothers and sisters?" Luffy commented only for both Nami and Sanji to shoot him a look, "What? Even I have brothers and a sister..."
"That... Just terrify me." Sanji replied as his cigarette fell from his mouth.
And at that moment, a huge Theropod arrived at the place where the entire crew was gathered and gave Luffy a serious look. Luffy exchanged looks with the feathered Dinosaur which started to speak in a long dead tongue. "Joooo-Boooo Heeee-Toooo, Koooom Seeeeeeei Vooooo." His voice was booming like thunder explosions.
Everyone was shocked by this, only Luffy was smiling at this language before he started to, surprisingly, communicate with it, "LuuuuuuFyyyy-Ai. Yoooooo-Soooooo-Weeeeee. Duuuuuuu-Ruuuuuum Foooo-Taaaaay-Loooooor."
"Eeeeeeeer-Buuuuuuuud-Toooooom. Hiiiiiiii-Raaaaaay-Jooooor." The Avian related replied. Luffy just grinned, "Vaaaaar-Soooof-Riiiiif."
"Dooooof-Weeeeeeeg-Beeeeei." Luffy replied as the Dino nodded at him. Then, he looked at a tree, and Luffy went there immediately after a nod. After a while, he returned with a Devil Fruit. "So, who wants to eat this?"
"Huh?" The entire crew, even Sanji and the Giants replied in a perfect unison.
"Who wants this one?" Luffy asked again. And Sanji took a look, a very long and hard inspecting look before he sighed.
"This does not even exist in the encyclopedia of Devil Fruits." Sanji complimented as all eyes turned towards him. "I did read it long ago, and I never seen this one..."
"You probably won't find most of the ancient and Mythical Zoan in the encyclopedia..." Zoro commented as Sanji gave him a raised eyebrow. "I just have a gut feeling about it."
"What scares me is that it makes sens.. Ouch!" Nami said and Luffy paled at this.
"Guys, we have to move, Now! Giants-Ossans, please take care, and see you in Elbaf next year or so." Luffy said very seriously. "Sanji, you have that Eternal Pose?" The Chef nodded, "Gin, grab that Devil Fruit over there, and let's haul asses!" Luffy barked as their last member in East Blue nodded and immediately fetched said Devil Fruit and the entire crew went to their ship, and as they set sails, the two giants yelled..
"No matter what, keep sailing forward." The two giants yelled only for Luffy to reply by a Huge, 'Alright!' And they looked at each other. "Let's take down the islands swallower." Dorry said, "Let's put our old weapons to rest, Broggy."
And then a gargantuan gold fish appeared and swallowed them whole. Luffy however and Zoro were calm. "Luffy, Zoro, what the hell is wrong with you two?" Nojiko asked with dread and fear.
"Oh you will witness the power of the giants of Elbaf very soon. We are not in danger." Luffy replied.
"The fish is dead, but it still have no idea..." Zoro replied and at that moment, the two giants sent a shockwave so powerful it pierced the Fish's skull, and their weapons broke at that moment, which made them nod at each other. This is the beginning of their barefisted battle. No Haki, no weapons, just their bare fists, their guts and their fighting skills. If this would end up in a series of draws, then this will be over...
Meanwhile, Luffy asked Nojiko to start the Navigation duty, as Yamato carried an unconscious Nami to the girls quarter. Then he asked the secondary Navigator at which direction is which, and as soon as he learned, he took a piece of paper, and drew a circle, before he pointed at it, "This is where we absolutely need to go, and ASAP."
"Luffy, calm down. What happened?" Vivi asked as the captain looked paler by the minutes.
"Nami got bitten by an extinct bug! She's fallen ill." Luffy replied as he was really scared about the wellbeing of his... Best friend.
"Oh no. Someone get a doctor!" Sanji said only for Jinbe to sigh. This was getting too out of hand.
"Here, calm your selves. I got the Drum Eternal Pose a few days before I met you..." Jinbe said in a deadpan tone which made Zoro laugh, despite the grave situation. "Now all we have to do is to follow this one all the way to the island, get the best Doctor in the world, and go straight to Alabasta."
"I'm counting on you two. Sanji! Make as much coffee and snacks for Jinbe as you can. Oh, and note that until Nami gets to the island, we are not doing anything else." Luffy said seriously. "Vivi, I'm sorry about this entire thing, but... I think that her life is currently..."
"I was going to tell you that we better hurry up for her sake." Vivi replied as Gin, Zoro, Ussop, Yamato, Johnny and Yusaku were outside on the sails duty. Jinbe took a good look before he started to tell them how much degree to incline said sails and Luffy meanwhile was focusing until he realized which wind currents to catch... And it didn't take more than a few hours for the air to become... Cold.
AN: Sorry for the disappointment. Well, this comes almost full circle. Almost as there will be a few things to discuss. Also, Jormungandr from God of War is very inspiring TBH.
